This is book 5 in the Oak Harbor series and it's Kerry's story. Kerry is a cousin to the three sisters that own the Oak Harbor Inn. She is 41 years old, divorced with two daughters and owns a bakery in Oak Harbor.
Kerry loves Oak Harbor and is working hard to make a success of her bakery and be part of the small shops that make up the downtown area. A huge cooperation is trying to buy all of the small shops and open a large mall and parking center. The small business owners know that this will totally change their town and work together to stop the building. Kerry decided to show one of the lawyers around Oak Harbor and show him what will change if his company wins. There are sparks between Kerry and Ethan but she knows that they are on opposite sides and that he'll be leaving town soon and doesn't want to get involved. Will she decide that she can give up her independence and fall in love? Can she survive on the support of her sister and cousins and can she forgive her father for something that happened years ago that she hasn't forgiven him for? Kerry was a complex character with a lot of sadness and anger. It was great to see her make hard decisions that had the possibility of making her happy again. It was fun to go back to Oak Harbor and catch up on the characters from the first four books.
I’m loving this series and am already looking forward to the next book. This book is centered around Kerry and Ethan. They first meet when he comes into her bakery, Heavenly Treats. They’re both attracted to each other, but when he tells her who he works for, it puts a damper on things. She loves her business, the community, and her fellow business owners, so she’s going to try to get Ethan to tell Major Corp to look elsewhere to build. Will she succeed? As they spend time together, they grow closer. Will he leave at the end of his job or will he stay? Kerry has been keeping a secret from almost everyone. What will happen when she reveals it? Also, will Kerry and her father, Luke, ever be able to forgive things in the past? This was an interesting book and I loved the surprise that happened. No spoilers, so grab your copy and see what happens. I bet you’ll want to visit Oak Harbor, when you finish.
I received an advance reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Kerry is a cousin and is a bakery owner was n town. Years ago she dropped our if high school to follow her then rock star boyfriend out on tour. He got captured by the thrill of performing and broke up with Kerry. She found herself pregnant at 17, with little hope for the future. Calling her Dad for help he convinced her giving her child up for stop was the best choice. A choice that puts a wedge between them and a decision she regrets.
Flash ahead 23 years and a large conglomerate is threatening to buy the little shops in town for development. She spearheads a group to strike out and meets a handsome man representing the conglomerate. Her bakery is her life and Oak Harbor is her home. A twist of fate reveals information to her and her path in life is set to change. I enjoyed the story although the secret was obvious to me, but all that n all, a great addition to the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC provided by the author and publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is book five in An Oak Harbor Series and it is Kerry's story and definitely a must read. Merry is divorced, has two daughter's and owns her own bakery in Oak Harbor giving her the security and independents that she needed but when a big corporation wants to buy the small businesses so that they can develop the area Kerry is determined to stop them as it would completely change Oak Harbor and everything that makes it special but when Kerry meets Ethan who is the lawyer sparks fly around them but they are both on opposite sides and nothing good can come from it especially as Ethan is only there for a short time and Kerry has already gone through enough in her life to take a chance on romance again. Another brilliant book in this series and I couldn't put it down as the characters and storyline was so engaging and kept your attention and it was so good to go back to Oak Harbor and catch up with all of the residence again and I can't wait to read more book's in the future.
Changes are in store for Kerry in Oak Harbor. A company called Major Corp has come to town and is trying to convince the small business owners to sell and make way for a “progress”. Handsome lawyer, Ethan is representing Major Corp and comes in to Kerry’s bakery for coffee. Kerry volunteers to show him parts of the town to try to sway the enemy for settling in Oak Harbor. Spending time together causes Kerry to develop feeling for Ethan. Ella, Ethan’s daughter comes to town on a break from college and both are included in a family dinner.
Meanwhile Kerry is determined to look for the daughter she gave up for adoption when she was a teenager
How will Kerry’s present love interest be affected by teenage decisions.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
This is the 5th book in this series and does not dissappoint. Kerry owns a bakery that she opened up after hard work. But a big corporation is in tow. Wanting to buy up the land around her bakery including her bakery. There is an instant attraction with Ethan, who was sent to pave the way. Will she be able to convince him not to buy? She has kept a secret from everyone in her family for so long. What happens when the truth comes out? Will her family stand behind her?.

Fall is in the Air is book 5 in the Oak Harbor series by Kimberly Thomas and another great read!
Up next is Kerry’s story. Taking back her life to opening a bakery of her dreams, her independence and control. That is until a corporation decides it wants to take her business…
What happens next…secrets, family, support, sparks fly, romance and more, keeps you reading to see where it all ends.
I liked this book a lot. We don’t know much about Kerry before this story - she’s just a cousin if our 3 main character sisters. But we learn about her past, her children, and her divorce - which sets her up nicely to meet someone - even though she is adamant about not getting involved with anyone. Ethan’s story and hers converge on so many places - it’s seems crazy. Definitely worth a read - wonder whose story is next!

Wonderful story of Ethan and Kerry. Not a totally unexpected outcome but I really enjoyed these characters. Kerry’s complicated relationship with her Dad was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. Loved the description of Oak Harbor and the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Eager to read the upcoming stories.

A wonderful, beautiful story that has you glued to the pages. A sweet small-town romance that is so well written you feel like you're living life with the characters. The characters are realistic making them easy to get to know. A perfect weekend read for an autumn weekend curled up with a good book.

To go through what she went thru at 18 years old was traumatic. It made her stronger , but has put a wedge between her and her father. There is a beautiful HEA but some pain and revelations have got to be mended.

I knew exactly what I was getting g into when I started this 5 book series. So corny. So so corny. Everything for everyone worked out just perfectly. Somehow the mom with ALS just faded away and was not mentioned again. I have dealt with an ALS death so maybe that's for the best. Sorry that I spent those hours reading this. Not a fan.
Wow! This was a very good book. The family dynamics are way out there and very relatable to many young women who have gone through a teenage pregnancy. I was impressed with the outcome. Very well written Kimberly Thomas! No profanity or sexual scenes! I highly recommend this one!
This is a sweet read. Kerry has had a rough life since she was a teenager now years later she may have a chance to fix her mistakes and find love again.

This story was excellent. When Ethan came to be town that started the chain of positive events. Wth Kerry getting her daughter back and having her whole family together
This is a very interesting, exciting and refreshing story. Kerry makes a terrible mistake when she is 17 years old. She has never forgotten about it. What an interesting story to read. It is hard to put this book down.

4⭐️{Kindle} BK5 in a 10 book series. Free with KU. These are shorter books in a story continuation {180-200pgs each} based on a coastal scene of Oak Harbor. The series is hallmark like with heartwarming cast of characters. Loss, love, friendship and family. Quaint, sweet and quick reads. You’ll be vested in the Hamilton family.
There was nothing to dislike I love how the entire family loves a d gets along. I wish I had my cousins close by growing up. I had one sister that I lost many years ago. I feel like I'm part of theirs. I would recommend this to any one.
So far every book in this set is so great that I would have trouble picking 1 favorite. The characters are wonderful This definitely a favor favorite author.
This was another really good book in this series. It was like catching up with old friends. This is Kerry’s story. She has her own bakery and some big corporation wants to buy out the downtown area. Ethan has come to town to help with that buy out. Sparks fly from their first meeting. It’s a quick story full of romance. I enjoyed the story. Thanks to the author for the early copy
