Tadgh O’Reilly followed the racehorse he fell in love with across the ocean and to the barren fields of North Dakota.
Content to live with his young daughter in his small, caretaker’s cottage as long as he gets to see his beloved Thoroughbred every day, he never dreams that his life is missing something very important.
Ashley Christensen can’t believe she ran off the road and got stuck in a snow drift. But that’s just as well. After all, the heiress was running from a life she just couldn’t stand anymore. When a kindly Irishman takes her in for the duration of the storm, she pretends to have amnesia, just so she doesn’t have to answer any difficult questions.
Happy living with Tadgh, Ashley doesn’t want to leave, but when her past comes out, will she lose the only thing that’s ever been real to her?

Looking for a book with : old flame ✅ forced proximity, ✅ , character growth ✅ spiritual insight mixed in ✅ Happy Ending ✅ short read ✅ then this book is for you. Clean , interesting and lots of backstory that explained Tadgh and Ashley relationship. I loved hearing the Irish accent in my head as I was reading Tadgh . Looking forward to seeing how Say it with Jay on YouTube does his voice. Overall A good ending to the series Coming Home to North Dakota, By Jessie Gussman. If you want to know Fords story who owns the farm Tadgh works on its in The Cowboys Beauty, Sweet Water Ranch Western Cowboy book 3 link below I’m happily leaving a review for the privilege being able ARC.
Tem years ago, fresh out of college, Ashley was acting as caregiver in Sweet Water, North Dakota. She could charm her grandmother, and they got along, but like Ashley's parents, money and status mean the world to her grandmother. But Ashley strikes up a friendship with Ford's farm manager, who followed his beloved thoroughbred from Ireland to America when Sunday was sold, and showed his skill and cinched the highest paying farm manager job ever...but farm manager pay isn't high at baseline, and certainly doesn't impress Ashley's snobby family. They force her back home to work in the family business, in a very cruel way that hurts Ashley and Tadgh, separating them. Ashley does her best to participate in the family business but she can't ever please them; threats are ever present. When her sister steals Ashley's idea and promotion, Ashley finally hits the last straw and takes a month's vacation, where she is actually answering an ad to do PR work for Ford's expanding farm operations, because Miss Charlene called and told her about it. But the SUV she borrowed isn't fully functional, though less likely to skid off the road, and Ashley panics due to being unfamiliar with the controls, and skids into a ditch right outside Tadgh's cottage, at the end of his driveway, just as he had brought the tractor to get his mail. Ashley is a bit dazed from a nasty bump on the head when the SUV went into the ditch. As the snow piles on in a nasty snowstorm, they lose power just as they blindly reach the cottage. Both still hurt over what happened 10 years earlier. Both still like one another and - Tadgh especially - is very gracious with his forgiveness. Is God giving them a second chance or only closure since things ended so abruptly 10 years ago? Will Ashley's parents once again chase her down and try embarrassing her and guiltily her into returning to work for them again, showing their elitist snobbery, pushing everyone around, making demands, belittling honest apnd hard working people whose 24/7 schedule puts food on their tables, demanding their way, demanding obeisance from everyone, especially Ashley, insisting on being given honor they have not earned, and demanding glory that belongs only to God for their successful business, wealth, and their many possessions? Will they admit the way they dishonored their own daughter 10 years ago, along with the work and ethics of a man far more honorable than they? Will they admit they have continually belittled Ashley in a blatant attempt to control her because pf their feae that she is capable of running the company alone and making a huge success of it - and they are afraod she will do just that of she catches on? If Ashley's family once again embarrasses themselves in an attempt to embarrass Ashely, how will Ashley and Tadgh respond? Will they allow themselves once again to be separated, or will they - especially Ashley - stand their ground this time, sending Ashley's family home with their love and forgiveness but keeping their lives the way they want them? A well written story that shows how a family can crush the souls of their own children to keep control of them and allow them to develop only the talents that will leave the adult founders in control, shows it is possible - but only with God's help - to break free, and easier with the love of a fellow believer.
Every book in this series has been wonderful as a group of Ladies called the Piece Makers have successfully matched the single guys and gals in this small town of Sweet Water, North Dakota. This last book in the series didn’t disappoint and the epilogue was fun as it turned the tables on Charlene.
Tadgh O’Reilly came to North Dakota from Ireland to follow a racehorse he loved. His life is filled with taking care of the animals he loves and raising his niece as a daughter. Yeah he’s sometimes lonely and has even considered asking the Piece Makers to find him a match. He just can’t see himself with anyone else but the girl who broke his heart ten years ago. He also feels like he doesn’t have much to offer a wife but a small cottage and lots of hard work.
Ashley Christensen had spent a year in Sweet Water ten years before taking care of her grandmother. Her parents pressured her to cut off her friendship with Tadgh which she still regrets. When Charlene asked her to come to Sweet Water for a job interview, she had no idea it was for the man who employed Tadgh.
Before Charlene could work her matchmaking skills, it seems like the Lord was setting up circumstances to give these two a second chance. Her car skidding off the road into a ditch right at the end of Tadgh’s driveway has him rescuing Ashley. When she recognizes his eyes and his voice she pretends to have amnesia. When the storm knocks out the power and they are forced to spend a few days together she knows she has to admit she knows who he is.
Will Ashley and Tadgh get a second chance together or will her parents separate them again?
I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest unbiased review
Years ago, Ashley caved to her family's demands and dumped Tadgh. But when her sister steals her promotion in the family business, she decides to head back to North Dakota for a while. Tadgh has never got over their relationship but lives happily enough with his orphaned niece - until Ashley's car breaks down at the end of his driveway during a snow storm. Embarrassed (and with a mild head injury), Ashley pretends to have amnesia, but is shocked to find that he doesn't seem to bear her any grudge - and the attraction between them is still strong. Can she overcome his reluctance to risk his heart again? And will she be able to withstand pressure from her family this time?
After seeing Tadgh as a minor character in a couple of previous books, I've been hoping for him to get his own story - and it didn't disappoint. As always, I love the Christian morals/attitudes the author presents - and the way she does it without ever feeling preachy. Sure, the characters aren't perfect, but when they do the wrong thing, it's clear that the action is wrong and is typically repented of. A delightful second-chance romance - recommended.
Note that I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author. I was not required to write a positive review and this is my considered opinion of the book.
This book gives readers a lovely and inspiring romance between a couple who have spent more than a decade apart, but have never forgotten each other. Tadgh is a man of simple need….a place to shelter him and niece, enough food to sustain them and a job to keep his hands from being idle. Money has never been the driving force in his life, something that Ashley’s wealthy parents saw all those years ago and convinced their daughter to leave him behind in order to assume her rightful place in the family business. Ashley, being young, spoiled, impressionable and prideful did as her parents wanted.
Now, God has had a hand in guiding them back to each other. A couple of timely accidents and a snow storm serve to keep Ashley and Tadgh in his home long enough to bring about conversation, reflection, the expression regrets and finally the admission that they still have feelings for each other that they would like build upon for a future together. Their story is heartwarming, insightful and inspiring and a wonderful way to end the Coming Home To North Dakota series.
I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
God’s ways and timing are always best. Sometimes we need to grow up before we know what God wants for our lives. He allows our challenges to sharpen us and our reliance on Him. When Charlene of the Piece Makers, calls Ashley about an employment opportunity she jumps on the chance since she felt betrayed by her family. Returning to Sweetwater after 10 years was something she had not considered, and her arrival by crashing her car in a ditch in the middle of a blizzard was certainly not her preferred method. Tadgh was shocked to find her in Sweetwater again and remembered the pain he felt when she left. Always trying to do what God wanted, he helped her and welcomed her to his home for 3 days with no electricity in a blizzard. God had put them together again, but could they see what He was doing clearly and make decisions based on God’s leading rather than depending on themselves? Such a tender way of telling their story without preaching and causing me to think of how to apply those lessons to my own life. Highly recommend.
Lovely story, I like the characters. Two people who loved each other but were separated when her parents thought he wasn't good enough for their daughter. And she made the horrible choice of walking away with her parents. But ten years later they met again and she can't believe he doesn't hate her for the way she left him before. Can these two put the past behind them and try again?
There is a really bad snow storm and he is just riding the tractor to get the mail before things get to bad, when he sees a car slip and slide and ending up in the ditch by his driveway. Of course he has to help, but when he gets to the car door, he can't believe who is in the car. He hasn't seen Ashley for ten years but she is someone he never forgot. The weather is so bad they have to make it back to his house and will probably be snowed in for days. Amazing he doesn't blame her for leaving all those years ago, but can he stop himself from falling for her all over again?
Great story, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I love this book but hate to see this series end. Each book has been inspirational and uplifting. All the characters are wonderful and the couples who were matched together made each book special. This book is a second chance romance for Ashley and Tadgh who were close friends ten years earlier. Ashley's family had told her that Tadgh wasn't good enough for her and took her away from Sweet Water to become part of the family business. When Ashley's sister got the promotion she was expecting, she took a month's vacation to apply for a job with Ford who owned the farm where Tadgh worked. When she was rescued by Tadgh after she wrecked in a snowstorm, they both realized that God had a hand in letting them grow up before bringing them back together. I highly recommend this book and the whole series for clean Christian romance with HEA endings. I received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
Cowboy Marrying the Lady is a sweet second chance at love for Ashley and Tadgh. It is such a sweet renewal of love and they feel that God made all the things happen for her to go into the ditch in front of Tadgh 's home and he just happen to be out at his mailbox in the blizzard at the time. When they spent 3 days in his home with no electricity gave them plenty of time to talk through their feelings of what happened 10 years earlier when they started falling in love but it was stopped by her father showing up and taking her back to the cities. Ten years later they feel they have matured enough to make their own decision on what they wanted for their life and this time no one was going to tell them how they were going to live their life.
I received an advanced copy of this book for review and to be honest I think Jessie Gussman gave the story the forgiveness or grace that both characters needed to make this reunion be so special. I give this review 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟.
Under pressure from her family, Ashley dumped Tadgh. Years later he rescues her in a snow storm - and she pretends she has amnesia and doesn't recognise him. Unfortunately that rebounds on her and not only does she have to deal with the consequences of her dumping him, she has to confess she lied about the amnesia. She was shocked to discover that he had forgiven her - and that his concept of forgiveness was far deeper than she expected as he truly held no grudges and wanted the best for her, regardless of the pain caused. I love how Jessie Gussman always makes you think deeper about living the Christian life and challenges you to also take things deeper, without preaching and still with very readable and enjoyable stories. (I really loved the end bit with her parents who had so disparaged Tadgh in the past.) I received an ARC but these are books I would always choose to read and this review is my own.
I am a fan of Jessie Gussman's stories. They are stories that could happen in real life making it easy to connect to the characters. They are clean and wholesome and always have a happy ending, though it might take a while to get there sometimes.
Tadgh O'Reilly is an Irishman who followed the racehorse he loved to America, North Dakota, specifically. At 20 years old, he met Ashley Christensen who he fell hard for. After she broke his heart and returned to her family business, he didn't want another woman, so he just moved through life raising his niece as his own. A decade later, Ashley accidentally ends up in his ditch during a big snowstorm. When Tadgh comes to Ashley's rescue, and recognizes her as the girl he has loved for over ten years, he wonders if these two will get a second chance at love or will history repeat itself?
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
I loved this one, naturally. I say that every time I finish reading each book! They have ALL been so good! You have such a wonderful way of creating love stories that are different than the other love stories! And once again, I love how each story brings out how faithful each character loves The Lord and lives his and/or her life pleasing to Jesus. I loved how their conversations displays how they love Him and live their lives in obedience toThe Lord and when they strayed from doing the right thing, they were quick to recognize it and confessed it and asked for forgiveness! I love how the people are so willing to help each other. I would love to live there, but I honestly don’t think I could handle the ultra cold weather. Brrrr! 🥶😱🙄. I live in New England and that’s cold enough for me! Moving on to your next series is exciting for me! Thank you, Jessie, for writing such great books! Giving them an A+. God bless you! 🙏✝️🙏✝️🙏✝️💗💗💗
Ashley is part of her family’s successful real estate business. After her sister stole her idea and won a promotion that should have gone to Ashley, Ashley decides to leave the family business and seek employment in the small town in which she once lived and loved. Tadgh is a poor Irishman who loves to work with horses. 12 years earlier, Ashley’s family gave her an ultimatum – Tadgh or her family. She chose her family. She now regrets her decision and is forced into spending time with Tadgh due to an accident and snow storm. Can Ashley and Tadgh put the past behind them and begin a new relationship?
I really appreciate that Jessie puts great spiritual concepts in her stories. Emphasis is put on prayer, Bible reading, and seeking God's direction.
I received a free copy of this book from the author. My review is voluntary and unbiased.

Wow! This is absolutely one of Jessie’s best! Tadgh and Ashley had been together for almost a year while she looked after her grandmother ten years prior. She left to work with her family firm after pressure of her family. Now she ends up being stuck in a snowstorm with him after having wrecked her vehicle at the end of his driveway. Will he be able to forgive her or trust her enough to let her back into his heart?
It is bittersweet to leave the town of Sweet Water, ND, but we have been promised a new series that takes place just north of this little town we have grown to love as readers. I definitely will be looking forward to the next series.
I love a good second chances romance and this one was so good! After she rejected Tadgh ten years ago because he was poor, Ashley knows that she doesn’t deserve a second chance when he reaches out to assist her in an emergency situation. Tadgh can still feel the hurt from the time Ashley dumped him unceremoniously and never looked back but he treats her kindly when she crashes her car in his driveway. I loved the way Tadgh chooses to respond according to what is kind and does not return evil for evil. Thankfully Ashley has grown and changed and the characters have a HEA. I really enjoyed this story—especially the kind of man Tadgh was. Highly recommend! I received an ARC and this voluntary review contains my honest opinions.
10 years ago Ashley’s parents convinced her that if she wanted a future with the family company, she needed to date who they told her to date. When things don’t turn out the way she hoped, she returns to Sweet Water....and a snowstorm causes her to wreck....in the driveway of Tadgh, the man she stood up 10 years ago. As they deal with a heavy snowstorm, injuries, and a power outage, they get the opportunity to also deal with their feelings from long ago. A sweet story with biblical inspiration and good life lessons.
I received a free early copy of this book to proofread, and chose to also write a review.
Miss Charlene has something up her sleeve again. She contacted Ashley about coming to Sweet Water to check out a farmer's operation.
She was close to Sweet Water when she lost control of her car on the ice. She hit her head extremely hard against the window. Someone knocked on the window. When she looked, she saw green eyes that she recognized. They belonged to Tadgh. She left him ten years ago, because her parents didn't approve of him.
What would happen between them now? Would he forgive her for hurting him? Could this be a second chance for them?
I received a free ARC, and this is my honest opinion.
The twelfth instalment of the Coming Home to North Dakota Series, with the Piece Maker's having a finger in the pie again. A wonderfully written story about forgiveness, second chances and responding in God's way to the things that hurt us.
As always for the author, a story that will have you pondering the things of God, and how it often doesn't line up with the way we are told we "should" do things. The story is squeaky clean sticking to biblical Christian principles throughout. Definitely nothing rude or crude, never a swear word in sight. Thank you!
This is a standalone book but the series is fun to read in order.
Once again Jessie has written a wonderful story with so much feeling, faith and what feels so real. Tadgh and Ashley get a second chance after a big snowfall brought them together and they had to stay together for a few days that were full of forgiving, learning and remembering that it is the Lord that is in charge. This conversation made me laugh to myself: She laughed. “Okay. Maybe eventually we’ll be friends who kiss each other good night” “Fine. Eventually. I can work with that. By the end of the evening is eventually, right?” Just like all of Jessie’s books this is such a fun read, and so uplifting and I enjoyed it so much!
Tadgh and Ashley are made for each other! She fell in love with him 10 years prior, and he fell in love with her as well, but her family thought he was beneath them. Now 10 years later, they get a second chance at love. I truly loved reading this second chance romance by Jessie Gussman! This second 'meet cute' is truly great, and character is well developed and has such integrity - even with Ashley playing like she's got amnesia. It just makes me chuckle thinking about it. I love how they work together and how even when they need space from each other, they just have this bond. What a great book!
Jessie's books are edifying. I would say they are also light reads, but she does tackle difficult topics. Bad things happen to the characters or because of their choices, but there is redemption, grace, and forgiveness. She weaves in truths about how we should leave as Christians, which serve as reminders as I listen along.
I've listened to her books on YouTube "Say With Jay." He's a great narrator, even for the women's voices. It's the type of book that you can listen to while doing something else. Any can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend starting the series in order as several connect characters and places.
Tadgh had his heart broken ten years ago when Ashley left Sweet Water to return to work for her family business in the city. When he finds a SUV in the ditch at the end of his driveway in the middle of a blizzard, he is totally surprised to see Ashley, the woman he still loves. Tadgh is a good Christian who tries to live by the Bible teachings everyday. I love the example of forgiveness that he shows by helping the injured Ashley and truly all those around him. Jessie Gussman delivers a sermon through the behavior of her amazing characters. Delightful!
This is my voluntary review of a copy I received from the author.
The story was cute. There was a little banter between the main characters and the people we see them interact with.
I really liked the characters. I like that the main characters are a little older—old enough to understand that the ten years they spent apart was good for them. The residents are kind and welcoming. If the story hadn't involved snow and cold, I'd wish I were there. :)
Another wonderful story by Jessie Gussman with heartwarming characters. Ashley has answered Miss Charlene’s request to come to help a farmer in Sweet Water. When she skids and crashes her car, Tadgh is the one who finds her. Her parents had forced her to leave him behind ten years ago. Both had been hurt by the incident but Tadgh the most because he did understand everything behind her leaving. This sweet story is a lesson in God’s love and grace. *I received this book for free for my unbiased review.
I really enjoyed this sweet second chance romance. When I met Tadgh in Cowboy Whispering my Name, I was intrigued. An Irish cowboy in the United States, unusual right? I was amazed at how Tadgh was able to forgive Ashley and Ashley was able to admit to her lies. I am always inspired by the biblical truths Jessie put into all the books in this series. The lessons on forgiveness and honesty are truthful and believable. Its delightful to read an interesting story and learn something too. You’re going to love this story.
I had an ARC for this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Tadgh O’Reilly finds a car in the ditch near his driveway when he goes to get his mail in a snowstorm. The woman inside is Ashley Christensen who had broken his heart years ago when she chose her parents and their company over life with him. In getting back to his house he injures his ankle, and then the power goes out. It will take some work and trust to make a relationship work and she will have to secure the job she has come to interview for. This is a great addition to this series by Jessie Gussman.
Enjoyed Ashley and Tadgh's story! They both were young, but Tadgh was ready to love her forever. Ashley didn't want to disappoint her parents, so she broke off their friendship and left town. Ten years later, and betrayal from her family brought her back to the only place she ever felt at home. I really liked these two the minute I met them. I wanted them to have their second chance. If you like clean heartfelt stories, you can't go wrong with 'Cowboy Marrying the Lady'. I highly recommend. I received this book from the publisher. The thoughts and comments are my own.
Ten years ago, Ashley Christensen followed her parents instead of her heart. Now she is stranded in a North Dakota blizzard with the man she left behind. Her feelings are still there but can Tadgh forgive her for the pain she caused him and will he ever trust her again?
Jessie Gussman writes wonderful clean cowboy romances and there is always a strong message of faith included. Tadgh and Ashley are meant for each other. I received a free book but this review is voluntary and honest.
