With plague and violence stalking the streets and a new Cold War brewing in the East, America has never been more unprepared to face her enemies. There’s blood in the water, and the sharks are circling.
When CIA assassin Jason Trapp is called to the Middle East to identify a man suspected to be feared ISIS terrorist Khaled al-Shakiri, he expects to be in and out in a matter of hours. Unfortunately, fate has other ideas. After surviving the most violent prison break the region has ever seen, Trapp is left chasing shadows.
But he knows this was no coincidence. Al-Shakiri didn’t just get lucky, he planned the whole thing. Five years behind bars didn’t show him the error of his ways, it merely hardened his resolve. And his bloody crusade is only just beginning.
In 1914 the death of one man sparked the greatest war the world had ever seen. New empires rose, and old ones fell. Millions died. It could happen again.
And unless Trapp can stop it, it will...

Hand of God is a standalone Jason Trapp espionage thriller that can be read without having read any previous books in the series.
I’m glad that Jason’s friend in the FBI, Nick Pope, is back in the story line and there is another female CIA operative, albeit analyst, in the story as well. This adventure was quite timely with the fall of ISIS and the use of drone technology. However, I had to take away one star because the editor of this book should be fired. There were numerous missing words or incorrect words throughout the book which makes reading the story come to a screeching halt when your brain has to interpret what was just read. Such a shame.
Jason Trapp travels to a Syrian prison with CIA analyst Madison Grubb to chase down a lead and interview one of the mostly ISIS inmates in "Hand of God," writer Jack Slater's eighth in the series. Trapp's just dressing. She's the motivation behind the assignment. In fact, she's chasing leads almost solo since the Agency doesn't exactly share her exuberance for the mission. But as soon as they arrive and just before the pair is ushered into a secure room with the man Grubb has planned to meet with, all hell breaks loose. The novel probes the gray area U.S. intelligence services face when dealing with unknown threats. The prisoner indeed was planning something. Grubb and Trapp arrived just too late to assess, deal with and stop the operation the prisoner had been meticulously planning for years. So begins a perilous trip that has Trapp all over it. However, when the lead suspect escapes with the rest of a bunch of prisoners, Grubb suspects her No. 1 suspect has much more in store. That something the likes of 9/11 is in the works. And she's right. Slater is right up on current events, and "Hand of God" reads like something like it could happen. Trapp represents our invisible bulwark of agents working to keep the country safe.
Takes on an evil monster that almost gets him killed. Instead Jason finds an evil and huge man who is attempting to fire weapons of mass destruction at the President of the United States. In time Jason Trapp finds his demon in a barn that has a huge tunnel space underneath barn. Trapp finds the hole beneath the barn and knows that his nemesis and his CIA patriot are inside beneath the barn floor. Jason must get down the hole in the barn to get to his evil nemesis who strikes him down inside the hole. The big man inside in a wheelchair has with him a woman whom Jason knows, and Jason must stop the evil operative, a really big man in a wheelchair, whose mission is to strike the USA with potently equipped bombs of mass destruction. What does Jason do to make this all go away?
Defense against terrorism requires commitment and vigilance
Networks of evil collaborate to train, strategize, and attack. Networks of good collaborate to save the world. Once again, Jason Trapp uses all of his strengths and connections to head off mass destruction. Trapp resists the call of revenge when given a chance to administer ultimate penalties. Human emotions churn deep and wide.
Another great installment in the Jason Trapp saga. Trapp travels to Seria to interview a terrorist being held. While waiting a breakout of the prisoners occurs, Trapp and his escort CIA analyst are caught behind the wires. Exciting read, not a single dull page. Great writing taken right from the headlines and turned into a great novel.
I really enjoy the situations Jason has to work through. The beginnings are always great and the endings are always satisfying. However, the books tend to drag on in the middle making it hard to stay engaged. It takes me 2 or 3 days to finish these books which is not my norm. I’m pausing in the series to go back to books I just can’t put down. I’ll visit this series again sometime in the future.
Murder, kidnapping, jail break, more murder, must a normal day for Jason. An analyst gets hold of Jason asking he come verify a prisoner in Syria is a most wanted Muslim terrorist. Unfortunately, the day they go talk to him all back breaks out at the prison. Why? Who? What do they have planned? You've got to read this. It's exciting, gruesome, action packed. Great job. Thank you.
Yesterday I thought I would have to wait until a new book got published... But,no, I found book 8. So in less than a week, I've read all of the books in print. I've enjoyed every single word, but now will have to find whatever Mr Slater has written, safe in the knowledge that no matter what it is I will enjoy it aback can't wait, I'm going to have a look right now.... 😊😊😊😊
Another great book by Jack Slater. Jason was tasked to go after All Shriki.. They went to see him in a prison as they went I. A riot took place and he exscapred. They found d out he was planning an attack someplace. They hare to figure out where. His accomplish Madison was captured so Jason went after her.
This one takes a while to get into, but Slater clearly wanted to draw the reader in and not make this Trapp story just another superhero book. Great characters, especially the villain. Also, great developing story between Jason and Madison. Could there be a spark there? Hope the next Jason Trapp novel fleshes that out. Terrific read all around.
Even CIA analysts can get into hot water and hope any survival training kicks in when under the gun. Madison proves she has brains and brawn. Jason is beside himself but as always rises to the occasion. Will Madison be another love interest? Read on and find out.
I liked this book but not the best onein the series. Once Eliza was leaving the active roles in the series letting Jason to be the only one main character, this time there is a new secondary to work with Jason (and there is also time for Pope, the FBI mate already part of previous novels). Lead is still flying in the aire but it's more an investigator (PI) than an operator time for Jason.
There’s a formula at work here but it’s handled well so it doesn’t spoil the story. This is another solid entry in the Jason Trapp series. Plenty of action, satisfying plot, good dialogue - everything you want in a thriller.
The story is good. The characters are likable. Sure, some stereotypes, but that’s okay. Some misspelling, bad punctuation and misused words , all of which should’ve been picked up by a good editor. Still, four stars.
Fast action and realistic settings. Difficult to put down at night so I have lost a lot of sleep. I enjoy the author's notes at the end of each book telling the real life Situations the story is based on
Very. Interesting plot line. The reader is taken through the steps that the government agencies should go through, but sometimes it's best to let the pros do the grunt work, then take over.
Jack Slater has become one of my favorite author's for his fast paced, entirely believable, edge of your seat espionage stories. Jason Trail is a bad ass. Love these books. I hope he writes many more.
Excellent novel by Jack Slater. I love Jason Trapped character. I wish you FC would hive him someone who stays by his side though and it's time he came in from the field. He is an amazing man but he getting older and he knows it. Give him a break.
what's not to like about Jason Trapp being a badass and saving the day with the help of Madison, a new character and an old ally. Drone attacks are no joke. I'm all caught up on the series. I wonder what is next for the character as it didn't feel like a complete ending to the series.
good read, continuous threads that keep your interest
Book has a good plot, good characters, keeps your interest up. The book was hard to put down, was fun and entertains to read. Worth the cost and you will not be disappointed.
Having read all the books, I must say that, as a former military officer, the descriptions of not only the action but also the military hierarchy runs true. Congratulations.
The pace of the story was good. But as with all books in this series, there are an amazing number of typos, grammatical errors etc. Did any human proof read these books? It is disappointing to have author's work cheapened this way.
When Jason Trapp meets Madison, to interrogate a prisoner the unthinkable happens!
Al Shakiri is a fanatic bent on destroying the "Great Satan" by a drone strike. Freed from prison, he heads to Indonesia to complete his planned revenge?
4.5 Stars rounded up. I enjoyed this book very much. There was lots of action and interesting dialogue between Jason and Madison in their pursuit of ISIS terrorists. At times it seemed as though the fight/battle scenes stretched a bit long.
It is a good read, decent story, probably not as good as the last one though. The leads that they acted on were very paper thin and really could not have been acted on by 2 persons.
The characterisation was good, the plot a little flimsy.
As usual, Slater's well-written novel is realistic & readers can relate the fictictious characters & plot to real current events, e.g., Syria and the drone strikes from Iranian supported terrorists wounding & killing American service personnel.
This book had great action and intrigue throughout the book. Jason Trapp is always on the case. And of course there is always some female that helps him, and he in turn helps her.
The plot picks up speed until Trapp is racing at frantic speed up head off a new type of terrorist threat. Action abounds, colored by blood, bruises and broken bones.
This was an exceptionally fast paced book and story. Characters were great and certainly kept my interest! Loved the book and found it very entertaining!
