Eden Walsh has sworn off men. Her last two relationships blew up in her face and she’s not interested in testing the “third times a charm” theory. Her only focus now that she’s graduated college is moving on. But a short trip to visit her friends goes from relaxing vacation to recovery staycation after a skating accident.

Now she’s stuck in Vegas and the sexy commitment-phobic hockey player keeping her company has her tempted to break all her rules. But when his past gets in the way, is it game over for them both?

I feel like a broken record when it comes to Kat Mizera lately because I just cannot find fault in her writing! Just about every story I’ve read by her for a while now has had a fresh and captivating *take* on tropes and/or circumstances I might have read hundreds of times before. She pulls me into the story and I get invested in the lives I am reading. I feel like they’re part of my circle and m living this life with them. And it’s primarily because she doesn’t try to get crazy with OTT drama for drama’s sake and makes her stories organic and relatable! While I read a story, if the phrase “that could happen to me” floats in my brain, you’ve done an excellent job in my book, and Kat has been doing this time and time again!

Eden and Decker’s story entertaining, held an air of suspense to it, has just enough steam to me it delightfully delicious all while being one huge package of hearts! The conflict was not only perfectly unfolded into the story but also was resolved in a satisfactory manner and not rushed in the least. I loved everything about the secondary characters and the epilogue gave me such a feeling of contentment that I might have had *happy* shinny eyes!

The most interesting thing about this one was all that Decker was hiding. It made perfect sense why he was hiding all that he did and I hated how it all came out and knew it would cause a problem. But once everyone knew the truth, every one suddenly shut the hell up and backed away from their initial reactions, as they should have. I was glad that Eden read Decker's texts and then listened to everything. I liked how things ended for these 2, like seeing them face live together and happy!

Sidewinders: Generations #5

Eden, 22 originally came for a visit to see her besties in Las Vegas and ended up moving there from England to be near them since she was living in the big family house with only the housekeeper there and she felt lonely. She had gotten her college degree in business but still wasn't sure what she wanted to do with her life. She and her ex-boyfriend had broken up when she found out he was married and this wasn't the first time she had gone through this, but the second. She wasn't looking for a relationship and she had some trust issues because of what happened and now questions every choice she ever made when it came to men.
Decker, 24 was the alternate captain for the Sidewinders and all around party boy. His teammate invited him to meet Eden but he wasn't looking for a relationship and had a lot of baggage to deal with and last thing he needed was getting involved with a friend of his teammate's girlfriend. When flooding occurred at his house he called for help from his teammates and Eden came as well and he thought she was beautiful and there was just something about her that made him think of her the next day off and on. They met up again New Year's Eve and hit it off and started spending time together and getting to know each other and became a couple. Eden tells Decker the one thing she won't put up with is a liar especially with what she had gone through.
What happens when stories come up about Decker and Eden feels he lied to her?

4.5 stars
Good story and I really liked the epilogue.

Eden Walsh is 22 and a recent college graduate. She has had a lucky life in some ways being the daughter of a diplomat she was raised and experienced multiple countries. But when it comes to love and romance she is far from lucky. She has had 2 major romances in her life and sadly both the men actually ended up being married. So when she is given the chance to go spend New Years with her friends Daisy and Zoe in Las Vegas she takes the chance. What she doesn’t expect though is to find romance again with one of Daisy’s husbands teammates. The problem is man can break every rule, including the biggest one….holding a secret.

Decker Reese at 24 is an up and coming player in the NHL and is with the Vegas Sidewinders. He comes across as a playboy but in reality he plays hard, works hard, and hides the past he had away from everyone, including his team. What he wasn’t planning on was falling for someone quickly and a woman who doesn’t want secrets between them. But every time he goes to explain his past, something happens to stop it. Now he just needs to make sure she knows before it all comes crashing down on her, on him and even the team.

There are some romances that take time, there are some that are hot right off from the start. This one is a little bit of both, a bit of time, a bit of electricity and a few surprises along the way. These surprises are not just little ones either. I’ve read lots of Kat Mizera’s books in the past and honestly this is one of the best one of hers I have read. I enjoyed it from start to finish, it was catchy, it wasn’t one you wanted to put down and then the ending made it perfect. It shows that not everything works out the way that you think it is going to. One to definitely add to your TBR box!!!

I wasn’t expecting Decker to be such a swoon inducing book boyfriend and enjoyed every moment of getting to see him fall for Eden.

Decker was Anton’s roommate and in that book he gave off the playboy vibe, so finding he had such a protective, sweet and romantic side was a pleasant surprise. He meets Eden when she comes to Vegas to spend a few weeks with his teammate’s girlfriend, Daisy.

Eden is struggling to find what she wants to do months after graduating from university in Switzerland. She has had horrible experiences with boyfriends who she later learned were married, so she’s extremely gun shy about getting involved with anyone.

I was quickly caught up in watching her enjoy spending time with Decker and seeing them get to know each other before things get physical. Decker’s secret was a bit of a shock, but learning what was behind it made him even more attractive. Knowing Decker wanted to share his secret with Eden, but kept finding excuses to delay bringing it up due to his fear of losing her had me bracing for emotional fireworks. Their reactions to the eventual discovery were emotional, but not artificially angsty. They both were in emotional pain, but willing to talk and try to move forward.

The ending was a bit of a surprise, but I loved getting the chance to see more beloved characters. So looking forward to more books from Kat Mizera.

Oh Decker, you were a swoony book boyfriend dream. “Decker” is a fun, steamy and emotional book about moving on from your past and realizing that it's okay to be happy.

Eden is in town to visit her best friends, Daisy and Zoe. Daisy has been dating Jean-Michel and Eden joins them at the team event for NYE. There she meets Decker, one of the Sidewinders and the two have an instant connection. Decker is young and is still finding his way through the league and with the team. Eden has been burned by past relationships and is focusing on herself. Neither is ready for a relationship but are still drawn to each other.

I connected with Eden from Daisy's story and I’m so glad her story was next. Eden is smart, independent and not sure of what she wants to do in life and that is so relatable to me. I love how close she is with Daisy and Zoe despite them living in different places. Decker is a genuine and a good guy, that I fell for him right along with Eden. Although his past was hard, it made him who he was and led him to be able to connect with Eden. Their chemistry was steamy and that scene in the club when they got the tour is going to live rent free in my head for a long time. I loved these two together and how they were able to work through the things they needed to be together.

We first met Eden in Van as she was on vacation with her friends Daisy and Zoe, in Paris when Daisy met Van. Now Eden has finished college, doesn't know what she wants to do with her life and decides to go to Vegas to meet up with Daisy and Zoe for New Year. Very quickly it becomes apparent that there is something between Eden and Decker, even though neither wants a relationship and Eden is only in the country for two weeks vacation. But as with best laid plans ...... life has a way of laughing at them and when Eden breaks her ankle, it appears her stay will have to be extended. This gives Decker time to explore what is happening between them and realize that a secret he has kept hidden, has the potential to implode his whole life!
I love Kat Mizera and her hockey adonis's and Decker is no exception. He is smoking hot, caring, and very willing to teach a curious Eden in the bedroom. To watch as his character develops from complete ladies man, whose life is made up of one night stands, to a devoted partner who wants everything with Eden really comes across in Ms. Mizera's writing flawlessly, and makes for a wonderful book. Another winner!

I received a complimentary early release e-book prior to release and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This is part of the Sidewinders Generations series bit it also is loosely connected to the Florida Knights as well. In this book Daisy who is involved with Van invites her best friends Zoe and Eden to visit in Vegas. When Eden meets Decker, they both feel the attraction but it's more like a fling since she will be returning to England in a few weeks.

This story is very centered on Decker, and we learn a lot about him and his history. His history and past is something that ends up being a big deal for Eden and her painful past as well.

It's really hard to review this book and not put out too many spoilers. I enjoyed this book, and I liked getting to know these characters. I adored Eden and I loved how she ends up working with Renee and also with Daisy.

Decker has a lot of secrets, and I did not always agree or even like how he dealt with those secrets. But I did like seeing Eden and watching her discover what she wanted her future to be. This is very much a growing up and moving on at a crossroads for a majority of the characters in this story.

Eden is spending the holidays with friends away from her home in England. Luckily for her, friends include Sidewinder players and when Decker has a flood in his home, Eden is part of the crew that helps clean-up since she is staying with Daisy and Van. Immediately these two are drawn to each other and because the group spends a lot of time together, Eden and Decker have time to explore this attraction. Eden is hesitant to get involved with anyone since her time in the states is limited and Decker has secrets that keep his walls up. Even so, an accident leaves Eden with a broken ankle and more time in Vegas, which leads to more time with Decker. While this isn’t a slow burn, these two do not jump into bed right away and their sexual chemistry/tension make it worth the wait.
Once the relationship seems on a good path, secrets are revealed and there is some minor angst. Nothing love can’t overcome and Eden and Decker get the HEA they have waited for.
Another great Sidewinder story and I’m loving the new generation. I enjoyed seeing glimpses of Slava and Zoe and hope to see more of them as they work towards their HEA!!

Decker Reese is an up and coming hockey player for the Las Vegas Sidewinders who plays hard but works harder. He doesn't do personal relationships and has worked hard to put his past behind him and to keep his private life, private. Eden Walsh has sworn off men after having her last two relationships blow up in her face and has her questioning her judgement when it comes to men. Eden is in Vegas to visit one of her best friends while she figures out what she wants to do with her life since she has graduated from college. Decker and Eden have instant chemistry but neither want anything serious. Can Decker get Eden to let down her walls and let him in? Will Decker's secrets end up blowing up his relationship with Eden? Can Eden forgive Decker for his secrets? Will Decker fight for Eden and their future together? Will Eden follow her heart and follow Decker to Florida? I really loved Decker by Kat Mizera. Decker and Eden are a great couple with amazing chemistry. I would definitely recommend getting Decker and the other books in Sidewinders: Generations series by Kat Mizera. I received an ARC copy of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This book caught me off guard. We met Eden in Van and Daisy's story and she seemed like a very independent person not looking for love but determined to finish her classes and succeed. Decker is first met in Anton's book as his roommate. He came off as the typical playboy carefree professional hockey player. So, to me it seemed odd that the two of them would come together easily. One thing that I loved is that we got to watch them form a bond emotionally before anything physical started between them. There emotional connection being so solid I believe is why when Decker's secret comes out we get a true reaction to it not a over the top blow out reaction. I also believe it is that connection that helps them be able to move past that secret together. Watching the two of them come together was awesome. Eden over coming her past relationship traumas to allow someone in and Decker not allowing his secret to dictate how his life will go. As always I can't wait to read more in this series to love new characters and get to follow up on others.

Just keeps getting better and better!

This is the fifth book in the Sidewinders: Generation series and I love how Kat Mizera always incorporates new and unique twists to every one of her storylines – this one is no exception! The two main characters are multifaceted and intriguing. Decker with his very unique and unusual backstory that provides the reader with a better understanding of what he has gone through and the events in his life that have made him the way he is. Eden also has her own complexity, surrounded in a vulnerability that makes you root for the two of them to connect, even when odds are against them.

As complex as their connection is, their chemistry is scorching hot and of-the-charts, but it is also enveloped in an undercurrent of caring, warmth and passion that makes this a page-turner and a must-not miss read! Simply said, another great addition to the Generation series, and exactly what you would expect from this author.

Decker is such an amazing read. I loved this one so much. I love the Sidewinders Generations just as much as the original Sidewinders series. This is Deckers book. Decker is such a good guy but he carries a big secret and with reason. Eden you have met in Van's book and now you get her full story. You feel for Eden and her men picker. You feel for the situation Decker is in while falling for Eden. I love the almost instant chemistry between Eden and Decker. Eden has been lost for a while trying to figure out what to do with her life. Decker just seems to ground Eden and show her what she can do anything. It is so hard not to not fall in love with Decker even after everything comes out. I love how Decker fights for Eden. I really could not get enough of Decker and Eden. I could not put this one down. You need to read this one now.

Decker has some secrets!

Eden Walsh is spending her vacation in Las Vegas to visit her best friends while she figured out what she wanted to do with her life after graduating college and getting over the devastation of accidently dating a married man.

Sidewinder player Decker Reese was happy being one of the few single guys on the team but meeting Eden Walsh and their instant connection brought out his protective tendencies when her ex-boyfriend started to harass her. He has been protecting others for many years and his falling for Eden will change everything.

Decker is a great addition to the Sidewinders: Generations series because it keeps growing with new team members falling in love when they least expect it.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from the author and 1852 Media. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The last two romantic relationships that Eden has had have left her cautious. She needs to get away so she finds herself in Vegas to spend some times with her friends. While there she meets Decker and despite her resolution the connection between them is impossible to deny but the one thing he hasn’t shared may be the one thing he can’t overcome.

Decker is a professional hockey player who has worked hard to keep his personal past separate from his professional life. When he meets Eden the sparks fly and now he has a choice to make or he might just lose the best thing to ever happen to him.

The chemistry between them was never in question and Decker will do anything for those he cares about which causes some turmoil between him and Eden as they both try to make peace with their pasts.

When I read the blurb for this book I thought, oh that sounds good. I figured Decker and Eden would be a decent couple to get to know. I wasn't expecting what we got though. I wasn't expecting Decker to wow me. I wasn't expecting his story to make me ache. I will admit I wasn't to thrilled when we learned a portion of his truth. But once we learn the whole truth? That man won me over. I just wish he had been honest sooner. I can't fault Eden for her emotions or her reaction. She was a strong heroine. But she also had her pain and I can't help but respect how she felt. I did love that she was willing to learn and let Decker be her teacher. This was insta-love at its finest with a whole lot of "not going to happen" feelings. In the end it was definitely worth the fight.

Decker is a fantastic addition to the Sidewinders: Generation series. I really enjoyed these characters and the storyline had me engaged from the beginning till the end.
Eden is in Vegas to visit her two best friends Daisy and Zoe and is easily brought into the fold of the Sidewinders family even though she is still trying to figure out her future. She definitely has reservations when it comes to dating since her track record isn’t great. But is it her or the guys she has dated?
Decker isn’t looking for a relationship at all until Eden shows up and he can’t seem to get her out of his head. His past however, may come between him and anything he is working to build with Eden since his history is the one thing that Eden won’t tolerate. Can he show Eden that he is different when he tells her the whole story?

The latest from Kat Mizera is even greater than a hockey hat trick. She just keeps dazzling us with her hockey hotties.
Eden has had it rough recently when it comes to romance. She needs to get away so she decieds to spend some time with her friends in Vegas. While there she meets Decker and despite her no relationship resolution they discover this connection between them. Sadly Decker has some secrets that may destroy this whole budding romance.
Decker wants to keep his personal life separate from his professional life. When he meets Eden the sparks fly, and so he has to choose or he may lose it all.

Their sparks are brilliant as fireworks between them but they both have to decide how to reconcile their pasts and secrets in order to move on with their story.

Good read about moving on from the past....
This was an enjoyable read with lots of chemistry! This can probably be read as a standalone, however there are characters from previous reads and bits of story that would make more sense if you read the series. Eden is gun shy about guys and relationships from being burned in the past. Decker has never even thought of having a relationship and liked to play the field. When they met for the first time it was instant chemistry and it just built from there. There was plenty of steam and hotness between them!! There was some drama, but everything gets resolved satisfactorily, I was dreading what you knew was coming from the start but I made it through. Great love story and add to this series!!

Kat Mizera is on a winning streak with book 5 in the Sidewinders: Generations series, DECKER. In this story, Eden is visiting her friend, Daisy DeSantos in Las Vegas, Nevada from Manchester, England. We met Eden, Daisy, Zoe, Jean-Michel, and Slava in book 4 of the Sidewinders: Generations series, VAN. The girls are college friends. The guys are professional hockey players on the Sidewinders and Lauderdale Knights. Decker Reese is a teammate of Jean-Michel (Van).

Eden has had bad luck in the boyfriend department. Decker is known for having a good time and not having relationships. The two immediately react to the other. They have amazing chemistry. They have situations in their past that cause problems for the couple. I appreciate how protective Decker is over people he cares about.

I love that Kat Mizera continued the girls’ stories. I like how their lives intertwine with the boys. DECKER is the perfect addition to Kat Mizera’s hockey world. I like how the Lauderdale Knights series crosses over with this story. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

4 star Review Decker (Sidewinders: Generation #5) by Kat Mizera
Decker was a good addition to the series; it was entertaining, emotional and steamy. We first met Eden in Van and I was intrigued by her. I knew that the man who she would become involved with would need to be special and Decker certainly was.

I enjoy Kat Mizera’s writing, her stories are engaging with wonderful characters who are easy to relate to and whose story you quickly become involved in. I loved the journey they embarked on as their relationship developed.

Decker is known as a party guy but when he meets Eden attraction quickly develops. However neither are really looking for a relationship, after all they both have baggage that they need to deal with. The camaraderie and friendships between the players and their partners adds an addiitonal layer the story.

What a fantastic addition to the Sidewinders Series.
Decker and Eden’s story has it all, it’s entertaining, emotional and steamy and it will appeal to all sports romance lovers.
Decker plays hard and fast in the ice and he parties the same. He is not looking to settle down and he doesn’t even own his own home but when Eden comes into his life it has him wanting more. But the secret he has kept could ruin his future with Eden before it even begins……
Eden is in Vegas visiting friends, she is trying to put her life back together after a nasty breakup so will she take another chance on love.
One click to find out……..
This book ticked all my boxes, I fell hard and fast for Decker once I got past the party guy, I adored Eden but it was the friendships and camaraderie between the players and their partners that took thus book to another level. Looking forward to what’s coming next from the very talented Ms Mizera.

Decker is everything you could want in your next swoon worthy hockey book boyfriend, he totally captured my heart, until he nearly not only broke Eden's heart but mine as well!, Kat Mizera poured a lot of great emotions in the 5th book in the Sidewinders; next Generation series.

Eden arrives in Vegas from England to spend some time with her friends and escape her ex boyfriend who it turns out wasn't as truthfully as he should have been, but spending time with her friends is just what she needs, now more than ever, when she meets Decker the attraction is instant and as the pair get to know each other, Eden opens up about her past especially when her ex makes an unexpected appearance, but is Decker being as honest with Eden.

Loved this dynamic and the flow of the story.

We get to know more about Decker in this story. What do we learn? Where is he from? Who is Eden and why does she go to Las Vegas? Who is she friend's with? I was surprised at the big secret that came out. Who's was it? What was it? What happens to Eden while she's in Las Vegas? Wow, the heat factor that ratcheted up was intense! It kept me on the edge of my seat. I could not stop reading. I love how Ms. Mizera keeps us in touch with the original series and ties in the Generations books into the originals. We get to continue to read about our favorites from the original series as well to some extent, I love how she manages to drag me into the story each and every time. This was worth the read. Enjoy it!

I have to say based on the blurb I wasn't sure where this story was going. Kat did a fantastic job not giving anything away.

Decker is one of the few single guys on the team and he really has no desire to get into any relationship. His best friends are all happy and he is happy for them, but he enjoys the single and mingle life.

Eden has had a rough go with relationships. When she goes to visit her friend, Daisy, who happens to be dating Decker's teammate, the last thing she expects is a connection right away.

Decker has secrets, though. When those come out will Eden be able to accept them?

Love seeing Club Inferno, Emilie, and Jamie for brief parts. Decker has a bit of darkside to him.

I loved Decker and Eden’s story! Decker plays hockey and the field with different women. Eden has been burned in past relationships and is cautious with men. As soon as they meet its instant chemistry! They were perfect for each other. They were start to change their opinion on relationships. There was plenty of hot, steamy sexiness and drama. Secrets come out causing problems for the couple.
Will they be able to work through them or will it be the end of their relationship? I love the Sidewinders: Generations series! Decker is a fantastic addition! I loved it! I can’t wait to see what’s next!

This is the fifth book in this phenomenal series, and this is Decker and Eden’s story. Decker is an up-and-coming hockey star, who appears to be a playboy but underneath he is sweet, swoony, romantic, and protective. Eden is visiting Vegas to see her best friends Daisy and Zoe, and when she meets Decker there is an instant connection between them. This is a beautifully written story which is emotionally charged, with secrets, chemistry, fun, and love, which leads to a steamy and entertaining sports romance.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Another sweet, sexy Sidewinder falls in love, and it’s a rollercoaster from start to finish. Decker and Eden have a connection from the moment they meet, though neither one wants to acknowledge it. Both of them have baggage, both have secrets and both are taken by surprise when they realize what they feel for each other is more than just sexual chemistry. Kat Mizera has brought us another fantastic story full of friendship, love, passion and situations that make readers fall in love with every character and root for the couple’s happily ever after.

loved it

This book & series are just wonderful. The subject matter is strong & handled with the utmost care & respect. The passion in the books is definitely hot & steamy, as is the case with Eden & Decker. Their chemistry & emotional connection is a surprise to both of them as neither was looking. Their pasts cause them a great deal of heartache & troubles but when push comes to shove it all works out for them. I enjoyed reading the hockey aspects of the books as well as the romance & it’s always great to have an author who knows hockey & does it as well as author Kat Mizera. Definitely recommend.

I love going back to the Sidewinders in Las Vegas. Decker and Eden had no interest in forming an attachment - Decker for reasons he hid from everyone, Eden because of getting involved with men only to find out they were married. But there was a spark, and they were drawn together until everything fell apart.

It was fun to get Eden, Zoe, and Daisy together again. And the sparks between Eden and Decker turned hot; it was fun to watch Decker helped her explore possibilities beyond vanilla sex.

I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest opinion.
