Taliz (Stranded With an Alien #2)

Taliz avoids people for a reason . . . his untamed predator.
But when a stranded human arrives, can he restrain his inner beast before his monster decides she’s his prey?

Zaydie
I’ve traveled all the way to planet Hallion to research their winter holiday. Though I came to write a fluffy article for my editor, there’s nothing fluffy about the seven-foot-tall Khal-rah with his tail, fangs, horns, claws, and appetite for the hunt. He’s lethal and powerful and exudes sex appeal. Something deep inside me yearns to run to see if he’ll give chase.

Taliz
I’ve never wanted a female more than I want Zaydie. Being stranded in a cabin and sharing a single bed means I can’t avoid her scent, her lush curves, or the way her tiny pink tongue licks her full, berry-red lips. And while I want to please the intoxicating female, it would be sheer madness because she’ll want to flee from my beast. No power in the galaxy will help the little Earther run fast enough to escape me.

This sweet and steamy holiday tale is the first book in the series, Arixxia Fields, and the second book in the shared world of Stranded With An Alien, a collaboration of authors telling holiday tales with a science fiction romance twist.

This book/series contains steamy sex scenes, muscular aliens, and badass heroines and is intended for readers 18+.

"Taliz" is written by USA Today bestselling author, Alana Khan and along with all the other books in this series, promises happily-ever-after holiday fun, mashed up with smoldering spice!ENJOY!

Well THAT was hot 🔥
Damn, Zaydie couldn't have imagined what would come out of her first extraterrestrial trip, could she? 🚀
.
"Say red." His voice holds none of the leering taunt it did during the chase. "Last chance, Zaydie. Before I lose it. Say red."

I found myself in a reading slump, and needed out quick. I picked up this title up during Stuff Your Kindle day and this was just the ticket out of my slump!

It’s a very quick, breezy, smutty read. And frankly just what I needed. It doesn’t check off every box for me, it lacked in some departments, primarily bypassing romance and going straight into smut, but I still enjoyed it. I had fun reading and after spending too much time stuck on another book, I’m really glad this one got me back into my reading cycle.

It got the job done. And that’s all I wanted. So a thumbs up from me!

This was a fun and steamy holiday romance and I love how it unfolded. Taliz and human gal, Zaydie, were stuck together in his cabin whilst a storm blew through. There were rules (no touching, etc) but their chemistry sure was hot ;D You know that whole rule thing wouldn't last for too long and it was fun watching these two work their way to an HEA. Highly entertaining, this well written story was fast paced and had fab characters, making it a great addition to this festive multi author series. Good fun!

Great book

Why Amazon insist on 20 words for a review via kindle, I don't know. Especially when I just want to say that I really enjoyed this book.

Unexpected delight

Was not expecting the twists in this story. Author did a great job with showing sides of characters that do not fit in square holes. Many do not fit molds, and can have many sides.
Enjoyed the ride.

Zaydie needs to interview the alien that is the best at making Christmas Ornaments. She goes to Frosttown (or Arixxia Fields not during the holidays) to find the reclusive Taliz. She gets to his place just as a storm hits so she's stuck there for now.
Taliz has worked hard to keep his violent nature hidden and will never take a mate for rear he might hurt her. So he avoids Zaydie and she doesn't want to be avoided. She has her pet Syzz with her and it is fun to read how Taliz interacts with Syzz. Now, there is only one bed in his cabin so they agree to share but with a no touch rule. Wonder how long that will work.
This is so different from Alana's usual writing style and I love it. A sweet, slow-burn story with some intrigue, plot twists, connections, steamy times and a sweet HEA.

I loved it. For someone who sees himself as a predator, he’s the epitome of gentleness. Even the small animal pet knows it. And our FMC is wise enough to know she found a goldmine in him.

As usual with the books of Ms. Khan, I couldn’t put down this book, read it in one sitting and I am definitely taking a catnap at lunchtime tomorrow.

I loved his Christmas gift to his wife. After several days, I found myself reading this again.

I wrote this book, so of course I recommend it. Let me tell you why I love it.

This began as the first book in my new series: Arixxia Fields Small-Town Alien Romance. I loved writing it so much I wrote Brekk, which just came out for Halloween, and Azari, which is slated to release near Valentine's Day.

Taliz was so much fun to write, I wanted to write more books like it. This is a departure from my angsty heroes. It's filled with fun, fangs, fur, and steam.

Taliz is battling his predator DNA while he falls in love with Earth girl Zaydie and her adorable designer pet, Syzz.

It's heartwarming and so hot you'll need a fan at your side when you read it.

Drop me a line (or write a review) when you're done reading and tell me what you think of the book in general and especially the chase scene (Yowza).

This was written as part of a shared world with Honey Phillips, Ava Ross, Tana Stone, Ella Maven, Ella Blake, and Rena Marks. Check out their holiday offerings as well.

I hope you enjoy Taliz.

A Christmas Romance!

Zaydie Mellior is a reporter from Earth that has been sent to the planet Hallion and the town of Arixxia Fields to get an interview with Taliz Valquan, the premier artisan in the Galaxy of Knedlets, or as they are called on earth, Christmas Ornaments. He lives an isolated life and this is the first interview he has ever given so Zaydie is determined to do a good job, even if she hates writing fluff pieces. The town of Arixxia Fields renames itself Frosttown during the holidays and has held their Jule festival for over 500 years. Unfortunately she arrives at Taliz’s cabin just as a huge snow storm hits. Looks like she is stranded there until the storm is over!

Taliz is a Khal-ran, the most feared species in the galaxy. They are the fiercest and most violent species there is. He was adopted as an infant by a Salutian couple, the most peaceful people in the Galaxy. He has suppressed his violent Kahl-ran side his whole life and is still struggling with it. He knows he will never have a mate because he is afraid he would lose control and harm them, especially a beautiful, sexy, fragile earth female like Zaydie. So he fights his attraction to her from the get-go! Zaydie on the other hand thinks he is a total hottie and can’t wait to check out his bodie!

This is such a cute story! I love Zaydie’s pet Syzz that she brings with her and how cute Taliz is with him, even though he is a big tough Khal-ran! Don’t miss this one!

Hide-N-Seek has never been so sexy!
Zaydie never thought going to do an interview for a story would leave her stranded by a fast approaching storm. The hover driver even refuses to take her back to where he picked her up from. Can this get any worse? Never ask that question!
She realizes she's stranded with HIM! A big scary and somehow still sexy Khal-rah.
Taliz was expecting the female to arrive to interview him, what he wasn't expecting was a snub from the little female. Nor was he expecting her to be so, , ,tiny, or so tempting. He's always been able to control his Khal-rah's wild side but this female, , . Now she's forced to stay with him and she offers to share the only bed in his house. No matter how platonic, he doesn't know if he's going to be able to control his urges to have her.
After the storm he takes her back to her hotel where she finds out they've given her room away. He offers her to stay at his place and as long as they stick to the "No Touch" rules, it should work.
RIIIGHT!
Zaydie finds out that you have to "specifically" ask for what you want. Ready or not, here he comes!!!
Oh me likey! Just get your cup of cocoa and hold it in your hands and by the time you're finished with this STEAMY tale, it will be HOT cocoa!

Taliz is a Khal-rah, a predatory race. He was orphaned at a young age and adopted by a couple from Salute, a peace loving planet. They raised him to deny his natural instincts and to excel in non-lethal pastimes. Taliz is a master craftsman at carving wood and is renowned in the galaxy. Zaydie is assigned to write an article about him so arrives for an interview. She’s surprised to discover he is a Khal-rah as all traces are erased in his online profile. She discovers he’s also an excellent cook and can sew up a storm.

A blizzard causes her to be stranded in his cabin for several days. She finishes her interview and the two exist in an uncomfortable truce. Zaydie doesn’t feel right about hogging his bed so encourages him to sleep with her (no sex included, of course, until it is)

Taliz is eventually able to take Zaydie to town so she can write about the Jule festival. Her hotel room had been given away since she hadn’t checked in when planned so she returns to Taliz’s home.
They explore their feelings for one another and she helps him accept all aspects of his Khal-rah heritage. HEA all around.

This book is fantastic the characters are well written an this story is both romantic and moving and you won't be able to put it down till you read every single page.

Taliz is a great big huge hulking sexy khal-rah warrior with hooves, a long tail and a very sensitive set of horns and makes the most beauful fanciful animal carving ornaments. Zaydee is a beautiful, feisty human woman who is there to do a story on the holiday Jule festival and she brings her adorable little darlinglove pet Syzz along who manages to win Taliz's heart and the melts the hearts of the reader right from page one.

This story is one you don't want to miss its got it all the romance, tender and sensual love scenes and hot hot hot to handle moments you won't want to miss, add all that together with humor, romance, and a group of Taliz's matchmaking friends and you have a story you won't want to miss.

I loved every page of this story and I am sure you will too. Be sure to pick up a copy you will be very very glad that you did.

Snail's Pace

It surprising that a short book could move so slowly.
Zaydie is a reporter sent to get an intervention with a famous wood carving artist. That artist turns out to be a Khal rah, known as the most brutal barbarians in the galaxy.
Taliz is not the typical Khan rah. He was raised by peaceful beings who taught him to be respectful and gentle. Taliz is even a vegetarian.
Unfortunately, Zaydie, for me, was unlikable. Although he tells her he does not want to get physical, he pushes him into it to satisfy her desires. She has no respect for his concerns. Taliz is fighting his primal urges, hence he lives I the woods away from everyone.
One of the things that make the story slow is the repetition. How many times do we hear the town of Frost town is only called that once a year (at least three), know many times is the town square described( at least twice) how often do we need to hear Taliz talk about not being like other Khan rah!?! This story could have had more substance without the repetition.

An alien with strong predator instincts he's trying to suppress and a human not thrilled with the fluff piece on said alien she's been assigned. One wicked snowstorm later and Zaydie is forced to take Taliz up on his generous offer to let her stay with him while the storm passes. While they both might feel the attraction, they both have their reasons for holding back.

Until, you know, they don't. Well, Zaydie goes all in for a short-term fling. Taliz is still a little reluctant to show her all his dominant leanings. In other words, he's afraid he'll run her off if he acts true to himself, but he's not giving her any reason to stay since he's holding back so fiercely.

A wild snowstorm, an adorable pet, a costume contest, a conflicted alien, and a lady who finds what she didn't know she was looking for during the holiday season.

Deliciously Nasty

Alana Khan has managed to seamlessly weave just the right amount of BDSM into TALIZ Stranded With An Alien, (her Sci-Fi Holiday Tail) to keep her readers eyes on the pages of this wildly stimulating story.

Readers may feel their hearts beating faster as they excitedly encounter some of the more erotic escapades of the Khal-rah, Taliz Valquan, and the human, Zaydie Mellior, (the main characters), as they follow the maze of emotions that will lead them to each other through love.

This story has a great balance of erotic sexy scenes, background story so we know what brought the main characters to this point in their story, and interactions with the general population that allows the reader to know the main characters places in society.

I enjoyed this perfect holiday treat with pleasure, and am encouraged (by the lustful feelings generated within) to seek out other books by this author in order to enjoy more of her writing style.

Zaydie is excited to go off planet to interview a renowned woodcarver and to provide a synopsis of Frosttown's winter holiday for her hometown paper. Dressed for success in her native Florida, Zaydie finds herself woefully unprepared to be stranded in a snowstorm/tornado without a coat or boots. Taliz Valquan is the subject of her article, but surprisingly does not match his website picture. A Khal-rah, the most feared race in the universe, Taliz has had his horns, tail, fangs and hooves photoshopped out of his picture. Orphaned at a young age, Taliz was raised on another planet by peaceful parents and struggles daily with his nature (warlike) vs nurture (creative/helpful). Add in Zaydie's designer pet and you have the potential for fireworks. Grab a cup of hot chocolate, find a cozy place and settle in for an engaging winter read.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this very entertaining futuristic Sci-Fi alien novella that has a somewhat different approach than the other books that I have read in this genre and it has surprisingly good world building with well-detailed scenes. The plot is very intriguing with some interesting, totally unexpected situations and in particular, I liked the direction the author took to make the characters more appealing to the reader.
There is: a female reporter (Zaydie) from earth, her unusual pet (Syzz), a Khal-rah alien male (Taliz) with emotional issues, humans, aliens, storms, twists & turns, intrigue, drama, adventure, complications, strange attractions, surprises, steamy scenes, contentment, love & a delightful sweet epilogue with a well-deserved satisfying conclusion.

I found this series after Ella Maven’s newsletter clued me in to Baki’s story. Written in 1st person, Taliz is a story that follows a brutish alien named Taliz and a human reporter named Zaydie who was tasked with interviewing Taliz. A storm forced her to be snowed in at his cabin where he fights his own instincts to dominate her. They eventually work shit out, but I found that the story was too long and drug out. The sex scenes were absolute fire though, 🔥no doubt about that. But there was too much boring filler between the scenes. I’m not mad that I suffered through it, because the wait was worth it on the end. The way it was written made it difficult to connect to the characters, so that may have had something to do with my disappointment.

I really enjoy that Taliz had a monstrous body. Usually in alien/monster romances the monster is so romanticized and just has a monstrous ding dong, height, scars, a cute vamp fang and like growls "Mine". But Taliz had nice big fangs and backwards hooves for legs! Monstrously hot. Every time the author reminded us of how he clip clops on the floor I was like, "omg that's right! He's part animal!"

Speaking of part animal, the whole prey/predator, primal scene is so my thing. I love that kind of coupling so much.

Docked a star because Taliz couldn't make up his damn mind about our obviously more than willing and highly aroused female male character, and I got so annoyed at one point that It made me almost stop reading.

This was a great and easy read!

Cute book about self acceptance.

A reporter and the alien artist she is interviewing get stuck together in a blizzard. The artist is from an alien race that is known for violence not art but the reporter sees and wants both sides of this sexy alien. He just needs to realize he can't hide from himself or his desires. With the help of the reporter the alien may just be able to accept himself and her love.

This was a cute and quick read. The reporter is a strong female and isn't afraid to go after what she wants. The alien artist is an affectionate and sweet alien that hides a darker side.

There are dominant sex scenes, a cute pet, and an interesting cast of characters in the small town the book takes place in. There is good world building and character development.

Taliz is a big, bad predator with an artistic side who tries very hard to quash the predatory part of his nature. He is reclusive as he is not native to the planet, yet has friends who wish him well. Enter Zaydie, a human reporter out to get a story on the recluse along with her designer pet, Syzz. Syzz immediately wraps Taliz around her little paws. I loved all the characters. They had great interactions. There was a lot of adult situations so would not recommend for a younger audience. The world building was good. The story line was entertaining and kept my attention. I enjoyed the story and would recommend it.

"When I want something, I go after it."

Zaydie is a reporter out to do a short interview and write a puff piece, easy.

Taliz, whether he intends to be or not, is an alien of mystery who is about to discover sometimes when someone else wants to get to know you, you end up learning a lot about yourself in the process.

This done in one kindle unlimited quick read is an interesting story about accepting ourselves -- complex, contradictory and unexpected as we may be. It has an interesting and thought provoking adoption thread that runs through the story, and adds some great depth to Taliz's character.

You ain't really what you think you are

Taliz needed to come to terms with who he was..not just that his parents were wrong; they did the best they could. However denying your essence cause issues more than ypu can fathom and this books proves it.

Taliz was Khal-rah and that is not a bad thing, well Zaydie doesn't think so because it woke her up. Taliz and Zaydie realize early on their attarction and did thier best to fight it but found that there was no use....sometimes you have to just give in and ride the wave...and oh give in they did.

Alana Khan always slips a little lesson in every book...I LOVE IT!!!!!!

Taliz and Zaydie

I absolutely loved this book. Amazing. This suthor really knows a lot of how the human (and alien) minds work. We see the struggle that Taliz has with himself because he isn't sure if who he is. He is to soft for his true people and to menacing for the ones who raised him. He has a constant battle to surpress part of himself and that makes him a loner always afraid to hurt someone. The whe have our human female that is totally going to rock his world. The pet is so cute I want one! Awesome book. I'm loving this Frost town series more and more.

This was a sweet yet steamy holiday story. From Zaydie the emotionally detached reporter to Taliz who seems to be trying not to embrace his nature- there is just so much contrast between this pair that SOMETHING had to give. There was a feeling of small town togetherness and playful matchmaking that seemed to provide encouragement for a romantic connection. This eventually gave me that warm fuzzy HEA with an epilogue showing that even more happiness was yet to come.

I received an ARC and am voluntarily sharing my honest review.

This book had a slow start. She is traveling with her dog to do an article and interview him. She gets stranded at his house in a snowstorm and he only has 1 bed. He offers it to her but she points out he doesn't have a couch long enough for him to sleep comfortably.

Then there is so much stuff about the dog. What does he eat? Where does he sleep? Does he need a walk?

Then they talk about how he makes Christmas ornaments out of wood and he is famous for them.

At this point, I gave up. I felt no chemistry or romance between them.

Human reporter Zaydie travels to the planet Hallion to interview Taliz. Taliz is Khal-rah a fanged, alien race known as fearsome predators. Zaydie discovers his softer side when she gets stuck at his home during a snow storm. He makes a cute outfit for her designer pet to wear at the Christmas festival and other decorations. Their forced proximity and sizzling chemistry brings out his inner beast when they’re in the bedroom, or the living room or outside - then he’s about dominating her. Neither of them is looking for HEA so will they open themselves to love?

This is a sweet and steamy love story. Zaydie's job as a reporter is to write a piece on Hallion's winter holiday activities to include a piece on Taliz and his carvings. Then fate takes a hand with a snow blizzard keeping Zaydie at Taliz's house for the duration of the storm. They are attracted to each other although Taliz will sometimes fight the attraction since his alien species are known for violence and he would never hurt Zaydie. Add in Zaydie's cute darlinglove pet and all have a very happy ending.

Zaydie came to Hallion to write a story for her editor not to find love. Taliz is a talented woodcarver terrified of the consequences of giving in to his emotions . Set around the holiday season, in a harsh winter on an alien planet, the story of Zaydie's love and Taliz' struggle to overcome his nature and his fears is full of warmth and passion. Written by the incomparable Alana Khan this is another must read for sci fi romance fans.

Bliss!

Taliz is inferno hot. Zaydie is a reporter who stays with Taliz during a holiday season blizzard. Taliz is a huge hung dominant Khal-rah who falls for her. There are laughs, love, a Syzz and dominant sex. An entertaining read, but I’m still trying to reconcile how the predator chase in negative twenty degree weather with human knee deep snow results in an outdoor romp on moss???? Chuckle, but Taliz is inferno hot, right! LOL! Happy Holidays!
