As a child, Pamela was lucky enough to grow up in a house full of pets and go to a primary school where lots of spooky and weird things happened (well, in her imagination at least). As a student, Pamela’s student jobs included: fishwife, teaching basketball in America, phlebotomist and Artist Liaison for a (really bad) Abba tribute band. Now, when she’s not writing or going out and about meeting readers, Pamela teaches philosophy to teenagers.

Her top selling stories include The Spy Who Loved School Dinners which won the Blue Peter Best Story Award and My Head Teacher is a Vampire Rat which won The Children’s Book Award. Two of her books, Petunia Peri and There’s a Werewolf in My Tent, were shortlisted for the Lollies – the Laugh Out Loud Awards.

Pamela lives in Dundee with her baby boy and their two awesome cats, Bear & Carlos. If she wasn’t working as a writer and a teacher she’d like to open a luxury hotel for stray cats.

This was pretty dreadful but the kids did enjoy it more than I did. At times it was a struggle to get through the sentences. It's kind of a Tom Gates rip-off and I would absolutely not recommend it for reading aloud.

This seemed a bit of a rushed effort compared to most of the books in this series. Often the chapter descriptions didn’t reflect the content of the chapters, and the blurb seemed to be inaccurate as well.
There’s a good idea behind this, but it just doesn’t really seem to work. The parts that should be included in the book seem to be cut out, and the story feels very rushed and disjointed.
My eight year old still enjoyed this, and trying to predict what the truth behind the monster was, but even she was confused why the blurb was talking about monsters that ate crisps and then the story was about a sandwich eating monster.

I read this one with my 8 year old, he's really into dragons and monsters at the moment so he was excited to read this!

Mix a school trip, a holiday resort where a monster is believed to lurk in the lake, missing teachers, and a packed lunch - and you are left with this humorous tale full of mishaps and mayhem!

The illustrations add to the story and my son thought they were brilliant. He really enjoyed this book and wants to read some of the other in this series.

As a 35 year old adult, I thought it was a great story too!

Easy read. Fun story to introduce mildly spooky stories to children. Includes humour. My only criticism is that it is a bit drawn out (in hopes that it drawers the reader in I suppose), but as a parent who has a 9 yr old with the attention span of a goldfish, he would just skip to the 'good part' if he felt it was long winded. Other than that im looking forward to reading other stories from this series.

I Finished This in 3 days! But, its not my level of reading.
What Happened -
Izzy and her friends went on a school trip to a vast lake. However, some reported they witnessed a monster lurking on land and water! Thats when the 4 went on a mission, with Gary, knowing there had to be an explanation...

The blurb sounded really good, I was amazed once I started reading.
I liked how Maisey kept on fainting and that the sea Monster wasn't real!
I loved this book so much I used the characters in my free write lesson.

A fun book read to my class who were quite engaged. The language was very repetitive; 'and that's when..' which made it quite boring. Fab as a pleasure read but not for anything else.

Was a good book which was easy to read with the dyslexia friendly font but it dragged on for a while, could’ve been a much shorter book

As a teacher I like to see what my kids are reading. This was very funny and I can see why she is a popular author.

Laba diena!

P.s Knygos tinkamos pradedantiems mokytis skaityti. Knygų serijos dalys paraytos dideliu šriftu, papildytos žodžiais, parašytais didžiosiomis raidėmis.

Such a quick and fun read!

I read it in a few hours, even though It this book is not for my age but I really enjoyed it!

This book would definitely be really good for younger people. So I'm giving this book a 3/5 because it was pretty fun and I probably I didn't enjoy it that much as I would if I was younger. Still a great read. Would recommend.
