I read The Princess and the Jester as a beta read for the author. This is the third and final book in her Westbrook Three series and is the story of Gwen and Cole. I loved it. There are some really interesting sub-plots in this one that kept me wanting to turn the page. This book, in my opinion, is the author's best work to date and for all those who have read book one and two - you will not be disappointed. So many answers were provided in this action packed finale to the series and I came away happy with the ending for all of the characters in the series. Seriously - loved it.
Readers of the Westbrook Three will love this final installment. Readers of bully romance will get a huge kick out The Princess and the Jester.

This ended up being the most angsty of the trilogy, and I wasn't expecting it - I mean obviously when you're telling the story of the Jester you think it's going to be humorous, but it's a good reminder that a foolish facade often hides a lot of other emotions.
Gwen and Cole are adorable. They fight their attraction to each other for all of 10 seconds before they give in and it gets complicated. This is a second chance romance that explores the way they learn to trust each other again. For Gwen, it's trusting that she's not a game to Cole because of who he became was part of the Westbrook 3, and for Cole it's trusting that more was going on than Gwen could tell him when she broke his heart. It took him two damn years to realize things were more complicated than he thought.
There is a lot of darkness in Gwen's life, and it's what makes her and Cole understand and connect so well. Even though their experiences weren't remotely the same, they were a safe place to be vulnerable, and the first time they were in a scenario where someone in their peer group valued them above everyone else. Little Gwen and Little Cole will just crack your heart. They both grow and change and we get to see the seeds that started who they grew into, and what happened when they were apart. They are so much better together and you hold your breath waiting for all the truths to come out.
While Cole is definitely a drama queen during the resolution, it feels like he's upset about the right things and takes some actions for the right reasons. He blames the right people. It was satisfying to read the drama without it feeling childish, which is an accomplishment for a high school series because it also didn't feel forced or precocious. It felt like someone who spends a lot of time thinking about the angles, and figuring it out before making a decision.
There is also a bonus epilogue and WHOA. There will be more in the Westbrook world and I can't wait to read it.

I loved this series, from the moment I read When the Saint Falls, I couldn’t help but become invested in the Westbrook Three.
The Bad Girl was the best kind of role reversal, and I loved Arwen probably more than Thatcher. However, I just knew Cole was going to be my favourite of all three.
The Princess and The Jester is the final piece of the puzzle and believe me when I say; it was so worth the wait.
I honestly don’t know how A.D. McCammon continues to go from strength to strength, and her writing style is flawless. She manages to captivate your imagination so meticulously. You find yourself rooting for these characters, flaws and all.
Up until reading this series, I was anti-bully romance. However, unlike some in this trope, this series touches on the subject matter very crucial to the plot in each book—which is vital and integral to each character’s story—deep and meaningful messages woven together beautifully.
A must-read, and I am beyond excited for what this author has in store for us in 2021.

Questo è il terzo e ultimo libro della Westbrook Series, che per quanto mi riguarda è partita un po' sottotono ma si è magnificamente ripresa migliorando sempre di più ad ogni volume. Devo confessare che questo era il libro che più attendevo. Semplicemente perchè ho adorato Cole dal primo momento che l'ho incontrato ed ero curiosissima di scoprire la sua storia.
I due protagonisti Cole e Gwen si incontrano per la prima volta a 7 anni e sono migliori amici fino ai 15, quando un segreto interrompe la loro relazione.
Cole è il terzo componente dei tre ragazzi più temuti della scuola e il più ironico e burlone del gruppo. La persona che ti fa sempre sorridere, della quale ti puoi fidare e sulla quale contare ma è anche un ragazzo tosto e determinato da temere se ti considera un nemico.
Il suo rapporto con Gwen era molto intenso quando lei gli ha spezzato il cuore e Cole ha deciso che adesso è il momento giusto per fare i conti con la principessa viziata e privilegiata. Fa in modo di incontrarla di nuovo determinato a ottenere la sua vendetta. Ma come sempre non tutto è come appare e ricostruire le vicende accadute due anni prima potrebbe cambiare tutte le carte in tavola.
Questa è una storia costruita molto bene, piena di azione, segreti da svelare e amore, che vi farà provare un caleidoscopio di emozioni. Vi ritroverete a leggere con il sorriso sulle labbra e il secondo dopo avrete l'ansia a mille e la fronte aggrottata.
Già il volume su Arwen mi aveva colpito, un libro con inversione di ruolo riuscito magnificamente, tuttavia sapevo che Cole sarebbe stato il mio preferito.

Non avevo mai letto la McCammon e devo dire che mi piace il suo stile di scrittura, ho avuto qualche problemino con il primo libro che ho trovato poco convincente nelle motivazioni e nel finale, anche se forse ora che tutto è stato svelato e il puzzle ricomposto potrei riconsiderare alcuni miei pensieri al riguardo. C'è comunque da dire che riesce a catturare la tua immaginazione e ti ritrovi a fare il tifo per questi personaggi e i loro difetti, inoltre riesce ad intrecciare magnificamente temi e messaggi profondi e significativi.
In questo finale ricco di azione ci sono state fornite tutte le risposte di cui avevamo bisogno e colmate alcune lacune ancora in sospeso nel quadro generale delle vicende. Devo confessare di essere rimasta molto sorpresa e di conseguenza estremamente soddisfatta.

Gwen & Cole's story is one hell of a finale for the Westbrook Three to come full circle. This is another story that even any little detail could be a spoiler in my opinion, so I'm going to make this review short & sweet. From the jump, I was sucked in & couldn't turn the pages quickly enough because I had to know everything since there were a lot of things going on. (And I do mean A LOT!) There are twists upon twists, which made for not only some fun f-bomb dropping, but added in action alongside of it with a kicker of drama. It's HIGHLY addictive, questions are all answered, and we even get to see how all the couples end up as it all comes to an end. A.D. McCammon brought the thunder, and I will be revisiting this series many times in the future! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is the 3rd and final book in this amazing series and is Cole and Gwen’s story. These two meet when they were 7-years old and were best friends until 15 when a secret destroyed their relationship. Cole is tough and determined and is one of the Westbrook 3 who are feared, and he is the joker in the group, and when Gwen who is a pampered and a privileged Princess, and he meet again he hates her and is determined to get his revenge after she left him heartbroken. This is a beautifully written story which is action packed, an emotional roller coaster, and with heartbreak, secrets, and love. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I recommend for all.

Ho aspettato tanto la storia di Cole e Gwen e alla fine è stata anche quella che mi è piaciuta più di tutte, perché non mi aspettavo affatto due personaggi così dolci e un amore predestinato.

Si tratta di un libro “second chance”: Gwen ha spezzato il cuore di Cole lasciandolo due anni prima, un amore che doveva essere per sempre e reciproco.
Da quando si sono separati lui ha imparato a sfogare parte dei sentimenti di rabbia e frustrazione rivalendosi sui ragazzi che da piccolo lo bullizzavano, ciononostante non riesce a chiudere davvero la storia con Gwen: non ha mai davvero capito i motivi della rottura, e ha deciso farle pagare per il suo rifiuto giocando con lei in modo crudele, ripagandola con la stessa moneta.
Chiudo gli occhi al tocco delle sue dita sul collo, sulla clavicola e sulla spalla. È passato tanto tempo dall’ultima volta in cui l’ho sentito e mi godo il momento. Una volta, lui era mio… il mio tutto. Quando riapro gli occhi, noto che risentimento e malizia sono svaniti dallo sguardo di Cole. Sono stati rimpiazzati da un vortice di desiderio e tristezza. Mi osserva aggrottando le sopracciglia. Si avvicina come se stesse per baciarmi, mozzandomi il fiato, ma le sue labbra schivano le mie e mi si posano invece su una tempia. «Sarà davvero divertente giocare con te»
Gwen non ha mai voluto lasciarlo, lo ama ancora, ma… da subito capiamo che c’è un motivo molto grave per cui ha dovuto fare quello che ha fatto. Tuttavia, poiché l’autrice si impegna moltissimo per rendere la scoperta di questo mistero molto lunga e faticosa, non voglio spoilerare di più. Ci saranno varie ipotesi, alcune più assurde di altre, ma arriveremo a capire che forse la cosa importante non sarà neppure scoprire la verità, ma recuperare una serenità tra i due ragazzi.
«È tutto così… surreale.» Mi sporgo verso di lei, che si allunga per incontrare le mie labbra e ci uniamo in un bacio.
Un bacio tenero e sensuale. Proprio come quelli che ci davamo un tempo. Questa volta non sono la lussuria e l’odio a infiammarmi. Per la prima volta in due anni, lascio che sia il mio amore per lei ad ardere. Se questa è tutta una bugia, se sono destinato a farmi strappare il cuore dal petto una seconda volta, farò in modo che bruci anche lei. Quando interrompo il bacio Gwen sbatte le ciglia, confusa, e mi studia con occhi lucidi. «È tutto vero?»
Il comportamento passato di Gwen e il modo in cui si comporta ora con Cole porta a situazioni all’inizio incomprensibili, ambigue e ci lascia all’inizio straniti, per lo meno finché non iniziamo a unire un po’ di puntini e comprendiamo che dietro c’è di più.
L’attrazione tra loro rimane magnetica, e per quanto nessuno dei due si fidi ancora dell’altro e abbia il dubbio che l’altro lo stia manipolando, giocando con lui, prendendo in giro, è impossibile resistere alla tensione sessuale tra loro.
È su questa, e su una connessione che i due ragazzi provano da quando erano bambini, che devono ricostruire il loro legame, la loro complicità, constatando che quando ami qualcuno non puoi vietare al tuo cuore di cedere nonostante gli errori.
E man mano che riscopriamo la natura e la profondità del loro legame, anche grazie a capitoli relativi al passato, comprendiamo che niente avrebbe mai potuto dividerli se non un gesto d’amore.
«Dimmi cosa vuoi,» chiede. «Voglio te.» La tensione nella mia voce riflette la disperazione che provo. «Vuoi me?» ripete, lasciandosi andare a una risata sospirata che danza sulla mia pelle, inebriandomi. «Temo che tu debba finire la frase. Dove mi vuoi?» Mi accarezza il fianco mentre si dondola dolcemente contro di me, annebbiandomi la mente con tanto desiderio da non riuscire a pensare. «Voglio che tu prenda ciò che è tuo,» aggiungo ansimando e facendo eco alle sue stesse parole per fargli perdere il controllo. «Cazzo,» geme Cole.
Le caratterizzazioni sono deliziose, anche se il Giullare del titolo non c’entra nulla, a mio avviso: Cole è così ferito, triste e arrabbiato da assomigliare molto più a un cattivo ragazzo, un giustiziere capace di atti crudeli, anche se rivolti a fin di bene…
Nel testo è toccato anche, seppur senza approfondimenti troppo profondi, il tema dell’anoressia. Nel complesso, però, per quanto intenso e toccante, si tratta di uno young adult con molto, molto sesso.

Si tratta di un libro “second chance”: Gwen ha spezzato il cuore di Cole lasciandolo due anni prima, un amore che doveva essere per sempre e reciproco.
Da quando si sono separati lui ha imparato a sfogare parte dei sentimenti di rabbia e frustrazione rivalendosi sui ragazzi che da piccolo lo bullizzavano, ciononostante non riesce a chiudere davvero la storia con Gwen: non ha mai davvero capito i motivi della rottura, e ha deciso farle pagare per il suo rifiuto giocando con lei in modo crudele, ripagandola con la stessa moneta.
Chiudo gli occhi al tocco delle sue dita sul collo, sulla clavicola e sulla spalla. È passato tanto tempo dall’ultima volta in cui l’ho sentito e mi godo il momento. Una volta, lui era mio… il mio tutto. Quando riapro gli occhi, noto che risentimento e malizia sono svaniti dallo sguardo di Cole. Sono stati rimpiazzati da un vortice di desiderio e tristezza. Mi osserva aggrottando le sopracciglia. Si avvicina come se stesse per baciarmi, mozzandomi il fiato, ma le sue labbra schivano le mie e mi si posano invece su una tempia. «Sarà davvero divertente giocare con te»
Gwen non ha mai voluto lasciarlo, lo ama ancora, ma… da subito capiamo che c’è un motivo molto grave per cui ha dovuto fare quello che ha fatto. Tuttavia, poiché l’autrice si impegna moltissimo per rendere la scoperta di questo mistero molto lunga e faticosa, non voglio spoilerare di più. Ci saranno varie ipotesi, alcune più assurde di altre, ma arriveremo a capire che forse la cosa importante non sarà neppure scoprire la verità, ma recuperare una serenità tra i due ragazzi.
«È tutto così… surreale.» Mi sporgo verso di lei, che si allunga per incontrare le mie labbra e ci uniamo in un bacio.
Un bacio tenero e sensuale. Proprio come quelli che ci davamo un tempo. Questa volta non sono la lussuria e l’odio a infiammarmi. Per la prima volta in due anni, lascio che sia il mio amore per lei ad ardere. Se questa è tutta una bugia, se sono destinato a farmi strappare il cuore dal petto una seconda volta, farò in modo che bruci anche lei. Quando interrompo il bacio Gwen sbatte le ciglia, confusa, e mi studia con occhi lucidi. «È tutto vero?»
Il comportamento passato di Gwen e il modo in cui si comporta ora con Cole porta a situazioni all’inizio incomprensibili, ambigue e ci lascia all’inizio straniti, per lo meno finché non iniziamo a unire un po’ di puntini e comprendiamo che dietro c’è di più.
L’attrazione tra loro rimane magnetica, e per quanto nessuno dei due si fidi ancora dell’altro e abbia il dubbio che l’altro lo stia manipolando, giocando con lui, prendendo in giro, è impossibile resistere alla tensione sessuale tra loro.
È su questa, e su una connessione che i due ragazzi provano da quando erano bambini, che devono ricostruire il loro legame, la loro complicità, constatando che quando ami qualcuno non puoi vietare al tuo cuore di cedere nonostante gli errori.
E man mano che riscopriamo la natura e la profondità del loro legame, anche grazie a capitoli relativi al passato, comprendiamo che niente avrebbe mai potuto dividerli se non un gesto d’amore.
«Dimmi cosa vuoi,» chiede. «Voglio te.» La tensione nella mia voce riflette la disperazione che provo. «Vuoi me?» ripete, lasciandosi andare a una risata sospirata che danza sulla mia pelle, inebriandomi. «Temo che tu debba finire la frase. Dove mi vuoi?» Mi accarezza il fianco mentre si dondola dolcemente contro di me, annebbiandomi la mente con tanto desiderio da non riuscire a pensare. «Voglio che tu prenda ciò che è tuo,» aggiungo ansimando e facendo eco alle sue stesse parole per fargli perdere il controllo. «Cazzo,» geme Cole.
Le caratterizzazioni sono deliziose, anche se il Giullare del titolo non c’entra nulla, a mio avviso: Cole è così ferito, triste e arrabbiato da assomigliare molto più a un cattivo ragazzo, un giustiziere capace di atti crudeli, anche se rivolti a fin di bene…
Nel testo è toccato anche, seppur senza approfondimenti troppo profondi, il tema dell’anoressia. Nel complesso, però, per quanto intenso e toccante, si tratta di uno young adult con molto, molto sesso.

Their story is a fantastic way to end this series. But each and every member of the westbrook three are amazing, and I've loved reading about all their escapades.

Since I finished reading the second book of this series I couldn't stop thinking about Gwen and Cole. Their sexual tension was everything and I had to know how their story started.
So cole is the son of the housekeeper's in Gwen's place so basically these two grew up together and Cole's mum is like her second mother. We see flashbacks of them being young and slowly falling for each other, their first kiss, them getting apart because of a secret....and them getting back together.
Gwen is such a sweetheart but also a badass she knows who she is and she's always protecting the people she loves. We see how badly in love she is with Cole and how much is killing her seeing him living his life away from them. Cole is the perfect hero I loved him so much he's funny and knows how to push Gwen's buttons. Loved seeing them with their friends one of my favourite parts for sure !!!!
I would totally recommend this book to you guys it's a childhood friends to lovers to enemies to lovers again kind of trope, had so much fun reading this, it's a short read with an interesting plot !!!

Its a little sad to think that this is the final book in the series.
Cole and Gwen. I was so curious about these two while reading The Bad Girl so I was super excited for their book.
Their story was definitely a roller coaster of emotions!
I loved that we got to see the two of them growing up together in the dual POV flashbacks. They had such a special friendship that ended up being more but unfortunately due to one crazy secret, they were both left broken hearted.
From the very beginning, you could see the connection and chemistry they both have. Even though Cole acts like a dick, he struggles to hide his true feelings and how much he longs for Gwen.
This whole book had me dying to know what secret Gwen was hiding. And when it finally came out, it was shocking and a revelation that I did not expect.
That ending. Could it be any sweeter?!?!?!

This is the third and final book in the Westbrook Three series. Cole is one of the Westbrook Three, meaning he’s one to be feared. You don’t mess with them. He jokes his way through life. Gwen is the princess. Living a pampered like. But once, they had each other. But, things changed. And not Cole hates her. She broke his heart. So when he has a chance to make her pay, he does. He wants nothing more than to take the princess down. But seeing her ago, being near her, might be harder than he thought.
Where to start with this. I’ve been waiting for Coles book since I read Arwens. I needed to know his past with Gwen. I was instantly drawn into their story. This was beautifully written, the characters of this entire series, you feel invested in. Cole is a tough, determined, character. He doesn’t trust easily, but once he cares, it’s deeply. He’d do anything to protect his loved ones. Gwen is strong, and fierce. What she does for Cole, amazing. Together, they are perfect. The softness of Gwen, evens out the rough edges in Cole. I definitely recommend this entire series. And every other book by this author. She does a wonderful job of telling a story, and writing strong, deep characters. I wish I could give this book more than 5 starts, because it deserves them.

Cole and Gwen are the IT 2020 couple. If 2020 had a graduating class year yearbook of HS romance characters they would win the "Most Likely to Grow Old Together" award hands down.
Cole refused to give up on love even after he had his heart ripped out by the only girl he ever loved because she would always be his. As Gwen gave up every piece of her heart to ensure he would never find out a secret that would change his life as he knew it forever.
They were playing a game that kept changing and no one knew who was winning anymore. All they knew was that they were both playing for keeps this time.
This series just got better along the way, saving the best for last.

I loved this book. I saw a lot of myself in the small insecurities of the MC. McCammon’s writing is fun and so easy to read. I loved the character growth in both of the MCs and the storyline of enemies to lovers was just so good. I have just started another one of her books and I can’t wait to get back into this world!

Loved this book! I couldn’t put it down. The pages kept me going and the story and pace were perfect!!! Cole and Gwen’s story is magical, painful and passionate. The story pulls you in and doesn’t let go! Don’t forget about the absolutely surprising bonus epilogue too!!!! I can’t wait for more!!!

I knew this book was going to be great but I don’t think I was prepared for how much I would love Cole and Gwen. Their story was a page turner and kept me guessing. I loved it from start to finish and couldn’t put it down. The ending and bonus epilogue was the icing to a fantastic series. Can’t wait to read more by this author.

Il libro La principessa e il giullare è il terzo della serie Westbrook, che ho letto e consiglio interamente. Non siamo di fronte ai soliti NA, con i personaggi stereotipati. Cole viene chiamato il giullare per la sua capacità di far ridere; fa parte del terribile trio del liceo con i suoi amici Thatcher e Arwen. Sono i tre cattivi ragazzi della Westbrook High, determinati a combattere i bulli e le ingiustizie con le stesse discutibili armi. Il nostro protagonista, in particolare, è figlio della domestica dei Rhodes ma ha sempre vissuto negli agi e in una grande villa, accolto amorevolmente da quella famiglia ricca. Qui ha conosciuto la figlia della coppia, Gwendolyn. Ed è proprio il rapporto speciale con quella bambina, che lo accolse tempo prima con una corona da principessa, a cambiargli la vita. Da allora ha ritenuto, ingenuamente, di poterla avere per sé. Di essere il suo principe, colui che l’avrebbe amata e protetta per tutta la vita. Ma un segreto della ragazza li ha allontanati e lui ora vive per la vendetta. Tanto l’ha amata prima, tanto la odia ora. Finché i loro destini non si incrociano ancora. Con la madre, lui torna a vivere in casa Rhodes, vicino a Gwendolyn, una tentazione troppo grande a cui resistere. E non ci prova neanche. Se non potrà averla per sé si divertirà a renderle la vita impossibile. Gwendolyn, dal canto suo, è ricca, viziata ma in fondo anche lei è sempre stata attratta da quel ragazzo semplice, amandolo fin dal loro primo incontro.
Non conoscevo la McCammon ma devo ammettere che ha costruito tre storie diverse con protagonisti originali. Di solito non amo i NA con sfumature bully ma in questi romanzi, legati tra loro ma leggibili singolarmente e autoconclusivi, l’atmosfera non è eccessivamente forte e violenta, le dinamiche adolescenziali sono ben descritte, i caratteri ben delineati, con una buona introspezione psicologica. Le scene d’amore sono piccanti al punto giusto, senza risultare disturbanti. Gli intrecci coinvolgenti tengono con il fiato sospeso. Cole da subito si mostra come il simpaticone del gruppo, colui che fa ridere, ma questo non lo rende superficiale né leggero, al contrario. È leale, onesto con i suoi amici, una spalla su cui piangere e un ottimo confidente.
Anche Gwendolyn, dal canto suo, è una bellissima figura femminile. Apparentemente viziata nasconde in realtà un mondo tutto suo fatto di fragilità e forza, di profondità nascoste. Ho apprezzato che l’autrice non ne abbia fatto una figura di ragazza dalla bellezza stereotipata ma mi è piaciuto che l’abbia descritta con un fisico non proprio da modella e con qualche chilo in più, che non la rendono affatto meno bella o attraente. Anche questi sono i messaggi che, a mio avviso, dovrebbe lanciare una scrittrice, soprattutto una che si rivolge a un pubblico di adolescenti.
La trama di questo romanzo è molto coinvolgente, lo stile scorrevole, si rimane con il fiato sospeso fino al colpo di scena finale, inaspettato e sorprendente. Si rivedono tutti i protagonisti precedenti perché le tre storie si svolgono quasi contemporaneamente. Molto ben descritti i luoghi del liceo americano e i personaggi secondari. Profondi e non scontati alcuni dei messaggi che l’autrice manda: oltre a quello sulla bellezza non stereotipata, quelli sulla pericolosità e meschinità del bullismo, sull’importanza della solidarietà e dell’aiuto reciproco.
Gwen si pone proprio come l’incarnazione della bontà e del sacrificio, di colei che rinuncerebbe alla propria felicità per non far soffrire chi ama. Un bellissimo esempio di abnegazione e di generosità.
In definitiva lo consiglio a chi ama le storie adolescenziali romantiche ma anche passionali, con sfumature di hato to love, second chance e angst, a chi ama i NA con personaggi ben caratterizzati e profondamente diversi. Spero di poter leggere altro di questa nuova autrice che mi sembra davvero una delle più interessanti novità arrivate da oltreoceano. Complimenti alla Triskell per aver scovato questo talento e per la felice intuizione di portarla in Italia.

Ultimo libro della serie dedicata al trio della Westbrook High.
Nei primi due volumi abbiamo avuto modo di conoscere gli altri due protagonisti, e ora è il turno di Cole.
Rimasto orfano del padre a soli cinque anni, con la madre si trasferisce a casa dell’avvocato del padre, disposto a dare un aiuto alla famiglia. Lì, conoscerà quella che diventerà la donna che gli cambierà la vita: Gwen.
Se Cole è un bambino magro e fragile, Gwen è una bambina con piccoli problemi di peso e con una madre inflessibile che, proprio a causa di questi, la fa sentire inadeguata.
I bambini diventano migliori amici e si ritrovano uniti contro i bulli della scuola.
I due crescono così come i loro sentimenti, e quella che era iniziata come amicizia diventa amore, quello vero.
Sembrano inseparabili, ma improvvisamente Gwen allontana Cole senza dargli una spiegazione.
Il ragazzo ha il cuore spezzato e con i suoi amici Tatcher e Arwen si vendica di tutti quelli che, in passato, li hanno bullizzati.
Il tempo passa, sono trascorsi ormai due anni e manca solo di segnare il punto contro lei, Gwen.
Quale migliore vendetta che tornare in quella casa e starle vicino?

Ultimo libro della serie dedicata al trio della Westbrook High.
Nei primi due volumi abbiamo avuto modo di conoscere gli altri due protagonisti, e ora è il turno di Cole.
Rimasto orfano del padre a soli cinque anni, con la madre si trasferisce a casa dell’avvocato del padre, disposto a dare un aiuto alla famiglia. Lì, conoscerà quella che diventerà la donna che gli cambierà la vita: Gwen.
Se Cole è un bambino magro e fragile, Gwen è una bambina con piccoli problemi di peso e con una madre inflessibile che, proprio a causa di questi, la fa sentire inadeguata.
I bambini diventano migliori amici e si ritrovano uniti contro i bulli della scuola.
I due crescono così come i loro sentimenti, e quella che era iniziata come amicizia diventa amore, quello vero.
Sembrano inseparabili, ma improvvisamente Gwen allontana Cole senza dargli una spiegazione.
Il ragazzo ha il cuore spezzato e con i suoi amici Tatcher e Arwen si vendica di tutti quelli che, in passato, li hanno bullizzati.
Il tempo passa, sono trascorsi ormai due anni e manca solo di segnare il punto contro lei, Gwen.

Esce il terzo e ultimo Romanzo della serie, molto bella ed intrigante. Finalmente conosciamo la storia di Gwen e Cole. Cosa si nasconde dietro i loro atteggiamenti. Il pov è alternato, e in alcuni capitoli c’è anche un salto nel passato, capiamo così come i due protagonisti si sono conosciuti e si sono innamorati. Purtroppo però le cose sono cambiate, Gwen ha dovuto rinunciare all’amore di Cole per il suo bene. Sono trascorsi due anni da quel giorno. Cole ha chiuso il suo cuore, Gwen lo ha distrutto e lui gliela sta facendo pagare. Eppure il loro amore è forte, la passione che crepita tra loro non è facile da contrastare. Mettete anche la convivenza forzata. Perché Cole trascorrerà l’estate a casa di Gwen. Saranno costretti a vedersi ogni giorno e lui fa di tutto per metterle i bastoni tra le ruote non sapendo che sta per cedere al loro incantesimo. Gwen custodisce da troppo tempo il segreto che la tiene lontana dal suo amore, ma non può niente contro chi la minaccia, non può permettersi di fare uscire tutto allo scoperto e fare soffrire l’amore della sua vita. Nonostante l’odio e il risentimento Cole e Gwen non riescono a non stare vicini e la passione esplode. Ma c’è qualcosa che lei non dice e lui farà di tutto per scoprirlo. La storia è molto ben scritta, nonostante sia un terzo romanzo la scrittrice ha saputo rendere giustizia anche a questi due protagonisti. Non ci sono momenti di pausa, è intrigante, ma allo stesso tempo dolce. Ritroviamo gli amici di sempre e la loro famiglia. Un Romanzo completo da leggere e apprezzare. Buona lettura.

So, I’m torn on this book. I loved the first two books of this series so much and especially loved Cole from the beginning, even in his supporting role. I really liked Gwen as well - both individually and as a couple.
The issue I had was the reason why they were torn apart 2 years earlier. When there’s so much build-up of a big secret that one of the characters is keeping from the other, I expect more of a “wow” factor when it’s finally revealed. And not to say the secret itself wasn’t devastating to those involved, but (and I don’t want to give away any spoilers), am I really supposed to believe that this secret is what was used by the person who was doing the blackmailing?! It just seemed like a stretch and also, it was never discussed how that person found out in the first place. I was a bit disappointed about that whole element of the story, but loved the chemistry and love the A.D. McCammon’s writing style! This in no way diminishes how much I like her work and I’ll definitely be reading more by her in the future.

I received a free ARC from Hidden Gems for the promise of an honest review.
It was a great book to end the Westbrook Three series. Gwen and Cole are the epic "couples goal." They meet when they were seven and were each others only friend. When they were thirteen, their relationship turned romantic. When they were fifteen, their relationship was torn apart by a secret. At eighteen, Cole is now back to fight for the girl he loves. Cole's mother has left for an extended work trip and he goes to stay with a family friend. The family friend happens to be Gwen's parents. Gwen tries to resist Cole's attention but she still loves him. She knows a secret that could hurt Cole and someone is blackmailing her to stay away from Cole. Cole won't give up until he uncovers the truth because he doesn't want to live without Gwen.
The story was good and a great conclusion. It flowed well. I do like how parts of this story overlaps with the other two books on the series; there isn't repeats of scenes but if you read the previous books then you know what happens.

Se per quanto in apparenza la sua vita sembri quella di una ricca figlia viziata della classica studentessa di Westbrook, nella sua vita le uniche certezze sono: Mia la sua migliore amica è il ballo.
L’ insicurezza del proprio corpo e una dei tanti dilemmi che affliggono la nostra protagonista, con cui mi sono sentita in sintonia.
Una mano non proprio sconosciuta ha guidato azioni passate e anche quelle presenti, per tenerla separata da Cole il suo vecchio amico d’infanzia.
Tra peccaminosi dolci e dolorosi ricordi, conoscere i nostri protagonisti sarà ancora più intimo, con capitoli che risveglieranno eventi dal passato.
La storia presenta delle rivelazioni che hanno creato in me sempre più voglia di arrivare al finale.
Lo spessore dei personaggi è quello di due adolescenti, che voglio sempre”esplorare” i propri limiti e diciamo che da descrizione delle scene non mancano, non togliendo nulla a nessuno.
La storia si sviluppa all’interno di una lasso di tempo prestabilito, dove le altre due storie” Il ribelle” e “ La cattiva ragazza” fanno avere una prospettiva della storia da più punti di vista.

A bit slow going but turned into a wonderful journey for these two people, and I was glad to be there. This was a second chance for Gwen and Cole. Both were intelligent and willing to accept the truth as it arose. By the end of the story, I had tears in my eyes and a smile on my face. I enjoyed the story and recommend it.

This is a good romance storyline with complications, lies, and secrets. The main characters were defined, one rich, the other a child of the help. They met at a young age, became best friends that morphed into much more until something tears them apart. Later on, in high school, they are reunited and the attraction that they once had resurfaces. Our hero is determined to regain the girl, the love, and a possible HEA. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.

Fabulously written!
This was fabulously written and rounded out the series perfectly. Cole and Gwen have quite the history and McCammom seamlessly mixed in snippets of their past right along with their current storyline. She also flawlessly intertwined the first two books in the series and the characters that went with them. Usually when I really like a series I want it to keep going but I do believe three was the magic number for this one.

My favorite of the three!
Usually in a series of books there is sometimes a misstep, where the story is not as engaging. This is not the case in this series or this story. Cole and Gwen are young love, lost love, and for keeps love. They have relationship that grows stronger over time and cannot be undone by one person or situation. They survive and exist through their resiliency, and Arwen and Thatcher get to have their HEAs, too. Enjoy the read!
