This novella delivers an engaging story that left me wishing it could have been expanded into a full-length novel. The brevity of the format sometimes led to moments that felt a bit cheesy, and the emotional dynamics of both the male and female leads struck me as somewhat reflective of borderline personality traits. However, this didn’t detract from my overall enjoyment of the narrative.
The male lead is particularly compelling; his character is a blend of softness and caring, paired with a dominant side that adds an interesting dynamic to the relationship. This duality makes him relatable and multifaceted, appealing to readers who enjoy complex characters. The female lead complements him well with her humor and bratty attitude, providing a refreshing balance to the story. While novellas often struggle to provide deep character development, I found her personality engaging enough to keep me invested throughout the tale.
The romance in this novella is highlighted by well-written spicy scenes that are both vivid and imaginative. The author skillfully captures the chemistry between the leads, allowing readers to visualize their encounters with ease. There’s a satisfying amount of intimacy that enhances the connection between the characters, making their relationship feel more authentic and impactful.
Overall, despite its length, this novella successfully captivates the reader with its blend of humor, romance, and well-crafted scenes. While the characters could benefit from further depth, their dynamic is enjoyable enough to keep the story engaging. For fans of romance and those who appreciate steamy encounters, this novella is certainly worth a read!
this definitely tapped into my nostalgia of going to Halloween haunts like knott's scary farm growing up. there was instalove to the nth degree, but if you don't mind that then you'll probably enjoy it. and if you love watching the scare actors on tiktok, then you'll probably love this.
I wasn’t scared that he would appear. I anticipated it and wanted the next scream to be his too.
✷ dirty first dates vibes (by harley laroux) at a Halloween haunt night ✷ high heat, fastburn ✷ dirty talking ✷ a lil switch moment ✷ mirrors, carousel, ferris wheel ✷ MMC falls hard and first
Everett took one look at Sienna and was ready to risk his new job for her lmao. it wasn't as kinky as i expected, but there was a switch-esque moment i really enjoyed . apple pay was all over this story and you know what, good, get your girl her treats.
i think there could have been a little more build up within the scenes themselves, but overall this way a fun way to jumpstart my Halloween reads for the spooky season!
So. I’m going to be 10000% honest - amazing. Like straight up. It’s a short novella but the instant chemistry that was put in the book is *chefs kiss* I am not only lucky to be on her ARC team but I’m also part of her Patreon and seeing everything come together - just leaves me so happy. You can tell that this was a work of love. Loved this little novella. Loved the connection the characters had. Loved the haunt aspect of it. Loved the ending the most though. 🖤🖤🖤
I ABSOLUTLY DEVOURED THIS OMGOMGOMG umm where is my own Everett like this is unfair. I wanted to punch Shawn in the balls every time he came in a scene or was even mentioned 🙄. This was everything and more. The only thing I wish was different was that she followed her heart and didn’t walk away from him or at least call him yk cause like she just put them the rough so much pain for three months for no reason like i understand why but still.
Also this has made me delusional to the point that I think if I go to a place like that a scare actor or whatever they are called will fall in love with me and have his way with me
When I first saw this book advertised on TikTok a while ago I was all about it! ….. Yikes. Per the situation given, I would have been very understanding of insta-lust. That would have made total and complete sense. Insta-love (head over heels, we’re destined for each other) after only a few hours of meeting and knowing absolutely nothing about each other isn’t even a little believable. Especially when the two MCs sound like they belong in middle school. The dialogue was extremely cheeseball and cringey. There were plenty of spicy scenes, but they weren’t done well IMO. I tried to force myself to finish reading because it’s only a short novella, but I called it quits after the dreaded and gross “Little One” nickname made an appearance. DNFing at 65%. On KU.
Super quick read! I loved this as a palette cleanser between long series. There was a lot of spice while still maintaining the characters and their personalities but not over complicated by too much back story.
A quick & SMUTTY insta-lust/love read from a new-to-me author. I am so glad I knew about the Halloween slider guys on TikTok so I could easily imagine Everett doing his job. Loved that!
Some parts I really enjoyed, some parts were just okay, but I thought it was perfect with Halloween in just a few days. Will I read this author again? Definitely.
This was a really fun read. It was quick and pretty spicy! It takes place at like an amusement park that has haunted houses. I loved the characters. The spicy scenes were very hot! Like super 🔥🔥 I’m glad I got an early copy. I loved her first book and this one was pretty good as well! I can’t wait to read what else she writes!
I feel like this probably could have earned more stars from me buuuuuuut fell short for a few reasons. I want to start off by saying that the overall premise of the story with the Halloween Carnival and the "he falls first(and hardest)" is absolutely delivering in this story. The spice level is great, I'm here for the naughty scenes around the carnival. The bit that threw me was that the author stated at the start of the story that they were inspired to write it by an accidental incident they had when a scare actor at a carnival collided with them and their lips met. I can see how that could inspire and turn into a potentially steamy situation in author brain. No problems here. Here's what throws me---The whole entire bit about how a big part of their "initial encounters" are directly written based off of the stock image cover they prepaid that has been used MANY times by MULTIPLE authors with absolutely no changes . YES, I AM REFERING TO THE GIRL IN THE PIGTAILS WITH THE LOSER/LOVER PSEUDO-CLOWN MAKE-UP THAT IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A HALLOWEEN COSTUME. Like, I know this is probably NOT a big deal to some people, but when you read a lot and see the same covers....like I'm not buying that that HUGE chunk of story came out of your brain before you bought a cover. AND ALSO, What kind of Halloween costume is that? And now i'm so fixated on these things that i'm out of the story and they've ONLY JUST STARTED taking pawing at each other..... The other thing that just bugged me was the amount of times homeboy paid for this gal's snacks with his phone.....did you get a commission from applepay? Like I know we're trying to be "of the times" and all but you could have just said "paid", you dont have to describe in detail about swiping your thumb across your phone to bring up the app to pay at the carnival....and he does it like a BILLION times too---LIKE, I GET IT---YOU HAVE AN IPHONE. I really wish it wasn't that distracting because, honestly, I probably would have given this AT LEAST another star, because it was a pretty good story....i just KEPT getting pulled out off it and I HATE that more than anything. I will DEFINITLEY read the other books in the All Hallow's series because I do really think this author can write sell, I just am sad that this info wasn't given to them because I think they could have made this SO MUCH BETTER and WAY LESS DISTRACTING. I read books to escape into those worlds, not to be constantly pulled back into mine in confusion.
As an alpha reader for this novella my opinions are all my own and have not been swayed by the author in any way, shape, or form.
Sometimes the smut is the plot. Sometimes a writer is so good at what they do you find a novel that perfectly blends both. And sometimes, once in a blue moon, you find a writer that's so damn great at storytelling you find both plot and smut wrapped up in a neat, organized little package we so lovingly call a novella.
I love the pacing of this, first and foremost, because I've found that a lot of novellas in the romance genre lead up to one (sometimes mediocre) spicy scene amidst a bunch of forced drama dressed up as plot.
This was insta-lust, with a heavy dose of insta-love, and I am TRASH for a guy with obsessive tendencies. Another one of my favorite things about Everett, our MMC, is the fact that even though he's not afraid to get a little rough with our FMC, Sierra, he's also extremely sweet and isn't at all afraid to show his soft side. He's so attentive throughout the whole night you can't blame our girl for going there with a guy she's only just met.
I also have to take a moment to fawn over Kenna's descriptive abilities because they are absolutely fantastic. Not only are the spicy scenes (literally) panty dropping but she has the innate ability to paint a story with words. Writing is a balance between showing and telling a story and Kenna has a great formula going so far.
All in all this was a tasty little treat that certainly satisfied my need for Halloween all year round, complete with the smut sisters' happily ever after guarantee, I cannot wait to see what Kenna serves us up next.
Thank you KB and Co. for sending me this ARC. The following are my honest thoughts on All Hallows’ Haunt:
Y’all…a Halloween-y novella in the holiday season?? Say less I love the vibe. Halloween has never been at the top of my favorite holidays…PFFF IT IS NOW. 😂
Everett - a scare actor who makes the gravest mistake a scare actor like him could make, he touched a guest…well he sure did more than that 🥵🥵 Like this man?? CAME OUT SWINGING. One look? Bitch Sienna had him in the palm of her hands 😂😂
Sienna - a woman who loves a good scare who attends Hallow’s Haunt to spend the night with friends, riding all the rides, eating all the cinnamon rolls, and getting scared shitless. HOWEVER, she gets more than she bargains for when Everett sets his eyes on her and decides he just has to have her.
Y’all I had such a blast with this one. This was so much fun! It was fast-paced and hot as all hell.
I think we all need an Everett in our lives who would literally put his job on the line for you hahaha.
This one really did its job as a spicy little novella and honestly I would put on my big girl pants and go to a scare park (? Is that what they're called?) if this is how it would turn out 😂😂
I’m absolutely OBSESSED with the office scene. I’m telling y’all there were so many scenes but THAT ONE??? Lord have mercy 🥵🥵 this whole book had my cheeks BURNING, but that one…made me lose all my senses.
Ngl the end??? 🤐🤐 I loved it heheehe
Spice is a predominant factor in this one so if that's not something appeals to you then proceed with caution 😘 but tbh if this author is on your radar then spice is probably right up your alley 😉
I was one of the lucky ones to receive the arc for this and let me just say… I AM OBSESSED!! I was instantly drawn to this I don’t know if it’s because I’m so drawn to anything related to halloween season but I loved this. It was spicy and I couldn’t ask for anything better the characters were amazing (*cough cough Everett😍😍). I finished it in about an hour give or take and I will be rereading again in the future.
I mean idea good and all smut also good But the FMC and MMC literally knew each other for day and were instantly in love like dude what?! Suddenly they are obsessed with each other even tho they know almost nothing about the other...
Just no. Like I like the author as a person, I know her from tiktok and had huge expectations towards this book but it was dissapointment sorry.
Okay this is a great little spicy novella but the audiobook! 🥵 the audiobook is so good! The narration is beautifully done and really sucked me in and then the spice was SPICE-ING 😮💨 if you’re looking for something short, hot, with a Halloween vibe, this one is great for both reading and listening. I loved this so much.
Listen, is this one insta love? Yes, yes it is. Which is kind of expected in a fast paced all smut no plot novella. Am I mad about it? No, I most certainly am not. Just hop on and enjoy the ride because these two fuck ALL over this haunted carnival. In a haunted house, house of mirrors, merry go round, Ferris wheel and even in a Photo Booth! The options are endless. Have fun!
Can I just say wow. I am impressed yet again! Thank you so much KB for letting me be an ARC reader for this amazing novella. Apparently you understand my type better than me because, Everett? Yeah he’s perfection. I LOVED being able to know more about his past, and the bit with the nicknames for him and his sister melted my cold dead heart 🖤 And Sienna, god I can’t say enough how much I loved her. I really really enjoy seeing strong female characters and the way she refused to take any BS, especially from Shawn was my favorite! You’ve outdone yourself with this one!
This was the perfect Halloween read! It was addicting, smutty and so adorable at the same time. If you like a good Halloween read with a few thrilling scenes, then I would recommend this novella!
I am over-joyousthat I get to be an arc reader for Miss Kenna because I eat her writing up! This is a short novella but damn was it good! The sex scenes in this 🥵🥵🥵🥵 Kenna just knows how to write a man! I’m not usually a fan of instant love but I really enjoyed this couple.
I went into this fully expecting insta love, it’s a novella after all, but I also expected it to be self aware? I couldn’t help but to scoff at phrases like, she always did this. My guy… you’ve known her approximately 15 minutes. You don’t know what she always does. This really took me out of the story in those moments.
I think you just have to know what you’re getting. It’s thematic. It’s short. The characters were sweet, but not too special. I just wish it had leaned more into the reality of it being basically one night I think in terms of the writing.
I WAS AN ALPHA READER ON THIS BOOK. THIS DOES NOT MEAN MY REVIEW WILL BE SWAYED Kenna, you honestly do great with your books. I enjoyed this book so so much. Everett is literally everything I could want. If this was Build-A-Bitch, you'd have gotten my dream man right. The story line itself was so adorable and honestly this will be one that I end up coming back to reread I'm sure.
The Characters Everett: If y'all can't tell what I think about this boy yet, I'm seriously concerned for you. Ev was such an adorable MMC. I honestly feel like his tenderheartedness made him the best possible version for this novella. I can't imagine myself reading this with anyone other than Ev. Kenna, you did great. Sienna: I enjoyed Sienna's character a lot. I really liked her attitude and how she really wasn't just letting anyone walk all over her, especially Shawn. She did a great job of setting boundaries (whether or not they were respected is another story). I also like the fact that she seemed truly human. She made mistakes (and owned up to them). She was a great character all around.
Things I Loved I loved this whole book honestly. It was great. My little heart was so in love the whole time I was reading it.
Things I Didn't Love The only thing that could have possibly made this any better is if it was a full length novel. I would have loved to learn more about our characters in general.
The Final Verdict I truly would recommend this to so many friends. I have already told numerous people to be looking out for it. For anyone who loves smut and is looking for a short and sweet number, this one is definitely for you.
I devoured this book! Honestly, I couldn't wait for it to drop into my Kindle. I'd been following it from idea conception through all the bumps and bruises. To be able to read it all in one sitting was absolutely a fangirl moment.
My guy, Everett, ohhhh yeah. I know EXACTLY who I'm picturing while I'm reading this. 😂 I mean, when you followed TT all through the spooky season…well IYKYK. Anywho!! Everett makes a mistake and touches a guest at the scare park. Oopsie! Bahaha! Not so much.
Sienna was minding her own, with her friends. Loving her scares, eating all the park foods. Then! Everett happens. 🥵
Everett and Sienna are absolutely perfect with each other. Their chemistry is explosive. Everett is so much yum with his dominating nature. Just about melted my face off, thank you very much. He's also a bit of a squish/cinnamon roll but ya know we all love those.
Does this novella convince me to go to a scare park? Uhm, no. I'm still a giant nervous Nellie. Would I go to just a slider show? ABSOLUTELY!😂😂 I'd beg for more of Everett and Sienna if I knew I'd get more. *blep*
Always check the TW/CW: 💥it's a spoopy season book👻
Anywho! Time to wrap this up with the goodies: Read: 5🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Spice: 5 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶 HEA
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily
Insta-love at a Halloween carnival? Yes please!! Everett, our MMC, takes one look at Sienna, our FMC, and knows he has to have her. He’s determined to cross paths with her by any means necessary and when they’re finally in each other’s presence … sparks fly. Everett feels that if he only has one night with Sienna, he’s gonna make it the best night of her life. Some hot sex in an employees only room, followed by cotton candy, some more sex on a carousel ride and some fun with the house of mirrors all lead up a difficult choice at the end. But Everett is determined to get his girl.
Halloween Haunt is a fun, spicy, quick novella that is filled with instant attraction and basically love at first haunt. It was a great spicy read. Everett was so attentive and the things he did to Sienna?? WOOW.. I had a great time, definitely a good read when you need a break from a long series. Has some plot but mostly spice and I was here for it!! 3.5 stars!! (Some parts were a bit high on the corny scale)
You know when a book feels like a Halloween ride that takes a filthy little detour into romance? Yeah. That’s All Hallows’ Haunt—a novella that somehow manages to be eerie, adorable, and feral all at once.
Set in a spooky fairground on Halloween night, Everett is a scare actor who only has eyes for one girl: Sienna, the smart-mouthed beauty he’s not supposed to touch. But guess what? He touches. And once the thong-stealing starts, so does the descent into one hell of a hot, unhinged, emotionally loaded night. What starts as a quick hookup vibe turns into full-on “please don’t let this end” territory—and you feel it. The tension builds. The smut escalates. And somehow, amidst haunted houses and creepy clown makeup, you’re suddenly rooting for forever.
It’s not dark romance, not really. But it’s got claws. The spice is exquisite, the atmosphere is peak Halloween, and the emotional punch sneaks up on you like a man in a blood-soaked mask whispering sweet nothings.
I was an alpha reader but I promise all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
Jesus. Kenna does NOT MISS. Please read this you guys. Its a quick read but its not going to leave your mind quickly at all.
I am IN LOVE with the MMC, he is obsessive, caring, and just an all around amazing man. The FMC is just as amazing. She’s funny, just as caring, and not afraid to go with anything our MMC asks.
Smut? AMAZING. Plot? BEAUTIFUL. If there is one thing I’ve learned is that Kenna can write smut and plot in a novella that is so natural and flows so well. It doesn’t feel awkward like most insta love stories.
We see these two not only come together and make “good”😉 use of any surface they find, but also we see them truly come together and get so embedded in each other that they can’t stop thinking about the other.
I cannot recommend this novella enough. Oh! And did I mention its based during Halloween 🎃😍
5/5 all day long. Y’all be ready for that mirror scene. 😉
Ok so I was lucky enough to do an ARC read for author Kenna Bellrae. This is my second one for her. Gotta say for some reason this one took me a little longer to get into but I think that was on me. I go blind into the books I read so I had no idea what the book was about. I was only going based on the cover. But I got to say I love Everett and Sienna. I feel like this one has more of a POV from Everette IMO and I loved that. I was able to feel all the emotions that were going through him ❤️. Gotta say, I don't think I will be able to see hunted houses without thinking of the adventures Everette and Sienna had that night. Definitely recommend this read. Thank you Kenna for letting me part of the ARC group! Can't wait to read your next project.
Another amazing story by the stunning Kenna! Very well written! Quick little read that I'm biting at the bit for more of.
The story starts off with Everett starting his first day at a haunted carnival. He very quickly becomes infatuated with one of the patrons, Sienna. The number one rule of his job is don't touch any of the customers.. and that's one of the first things he does! And he continues to do throughout the entire night.
The spice is steamy as ever. It's a love at first sight novella!
I only have 2 complaints. 1. With it being a novella it makes everything very fast paced and almost a little rushed. There's not much room for detailed development. 2. There's not more! I am 1000% looking forward to the next part!
Thank you so much Kenna! Keep up the amazing work!!!
I enjoyed the immersive aspects of this audiobook. They weren’t overly distracting to the story itself but instead enhanced the background features and made me feel a bit more in the story. This was fun and quick and reminded me of my theme park days and our Halloween events and the scare actors/workers. I found myself concerned that Everett was going to get fired as they enjoyed their time together. It was a fast love with very spicy connections. I liked the epilogue and how it’s all wrapped up. If you want something fast paced, spicy with great narration then this is audiobook for you. Ethan and Maeven did a fantastic job with this book. They both have incredibly smooth narration that captures you into the story. They really embrace their characters which brings the book to life.
When Everett first scared Sienna I immediately got images of Fryboy from TikTok doing his slide scare and for the rest of the book that is the only person I could see as Everett - and I am not complaining!
Ethan Gray did a great job as Everett - funny that out of the entire book it was the repeated "Hi" that absolutely killed me. He was such a great character and had some pretty great ideas throughout the night. His first time breaking the rules with Sienna was adorable and it just got even better every time after that.
The ending also just had me giggling like crazy - I can't say too much without spoiling it so I guess you'll just have to read it!
