Wall Street Journal bestselling author Nicole Snow returns with a blazing forbidden romance where every wrong feels perfectly right for two star-crossed lovers...
Everything that could go wrong did. The evil smile on my bestie's face should've screamed bad idea. But I took her "easy" Find a man before summer ends. Renounce my V-card. Enjoy life. I thought I was entitled to the same sweet ritual every girl deserves—until a force of nature blew in.
His name is Chris Triton. Tattooed god. Moody ex SEAL. Zero filter. Born to drive me bonkers. We barely spoke for ten minutes before he kissed my soul out. Too fast. Too intense. Too flipping good.
Then I found out we'd be sharing the same roof the very next day. Dad marrying his mom squashed our little chemistry experiment instantly. You know, the normal reaction. But Chris doesn't do normal. Or predictable. Or sane.
Still, I'm sure he's playing some twisted game when he keeps teasing the unthinkable. I think he won't scorch my heart black until the Vegas trip—another hilariously bad idea. It's just us and a tension so thick you can chew it. Just an unexpected hero charging to my rescue. Just one freaking bed. What the hell do you do when the perfect wrong feels undeniably right?
A full-length forbidden romance with sizzle, jaw-dropping sass, and all the heart-stompy butterflies impossible Happily Ever Afters are made of. Witness one growly protector battle the worst luck in the known universe to throw his princess over his shoulder and bring her home forever.
Nicole Snow is a Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author. She found her love of writing by hashing out love scenes on lunch breaks and plotting her great escape from boardrooms. Her work roared onto the indie romance scene in 2014 with her Grizzlies MC series.
Since then Snow aims for the very best in growly, heart-of-gold alpha heroes, unbelievable suspense, and swoon storms aplenty.
Current fan favorites include her Enguard Protectors series, accidental love novels, plus long beloved MC romance thrillers like the Grizzlies and Deadly Pistols.
Wow! The Perfect Wrong is Nicole Snow's spiciest book with all the slow-burny, intense, and emotional forbidden romance goodness. Can you say off limits? When Delia takes a bet to lose her v-card and thinks she's found the perfect man to do it, here comes the twist. Chris is big, grumpy, alpha, and totally off limits. Becoming surprise stepsiblings should pour ice water on their attraction, but when they wind up in Vegas after endless teasing and tension and there's only—Gasp!—one bed... Yep. It's as crazy hot as it sounds and I loved it. Grab it on Kindle Unlimited and hide away for some alone time with this scorcher!
The author of this book is definitely a skilled writer and both Chris and Delia were likeable characters.
However, the book was too long and the push and pull between the characters got exhausting fast. Chris and Delia didn’t meet until after their parents married so the whole forbidden aspect was just lame to me and this was basically the whole plot if the book 😒. There were also way too many sex scenes and I ended up skimming them because they were so repetitive. IMO the author should have cut a bunch of these and tightened up the book.
The Perfect Wrong is the forbidden romance story of how Delia Burr and Chris Triton find their happily ever after. It's filled with growly alpha hole vibes, red hot spicy scenes, and panty melting, swoon worthy lines. If that isn't a good reason to read this book, I don't know what is. Lol!
I loved the original book, Stepbrother UnSEALed, with the forbidden romance between Delia Burr and Chris Triton. The Perfect Wrong is a revamped version of the original and it is SO GOOD!!!! If you have read the original book, you will be able to see what is different and what has stayed the same. But don’t worry all the good parts are still in there!
Delia Burr is the daughter of an airline chief and has lived a sheltered luxurious life. She is a sweet, down-to-Earth girl that never does anything that will get her in serious trouble and is always responsible. There probably isn’t a bad bone in her body. When she decides to take the summer to go home and meet her new family member, she also decides to give into her best friend’s endless requests of enjoying herself with a boy/man and agrees to the bet that involves her losing her v-card by the end of the summer. She always decides to take the free time to work on her senior thesis and find that one topic that could potentially put her journalism career on the map. Who knew one summer night at home could change her life forever and in more ways than one.
Chris Triton is a former Navy SEAL and had challenging childhood, thanks to his mother. He decided to join the Navy and devote his life into saving those who can’t help themselves. After he retired from the Navy, he decided to stay in the same line of work, but in the private sector with Enguard Security. Even though he resents everything his mother put him through, he checks in on her from time to time. And when she re-marries, he decides to come home and meet his new “family” at her insistence. When a threat from his last mission bleeds into his personal life, Chris is forced to stay home and near the two women that might destroy him in good ways and bad.
Chris and Delia’s relationship starts off with a bang as they meet each other one night at her beach party. Once they officially meet each other, the unthinkable happens. They find out they are step-siblings. But knowing that they are forbidden to be together and the primal urge to claim her are a couple of reasons Chris is determined to break through her flimsy wall she’s put up and pursue her. Despite her resistance to Chris, it’s like he showed her a world filled with vibrant color when she has been living a life in primary colors or black and white. She most definitely wants what she can’t have. I mean who would want a college boy when you could have a tattooed green eyed God like Chris? The chemistry between these two is off the chain and the tension is thick enough to pop the thickest rubber band. So during their Vegas trip, she decides that coloring outside the lines, living a life full of vibrant colors, and multiple orgasms makes life much more enjoyable and worth living. She decides to give into her desires and what happens next will rock your socks off.
I loved this book if you didn’t get that from this review. I loved all the chapter titles and all the names that Delia calls Chris in her mind and/or behind his back. I think black dragon of the night and Mr. Tall, Dark, and Devilish might be my favorites. Delia’s sass is hilarious and contagious so beware if you find yourself channelling Delia after reading this book.
This book is a must read if you are a fan of Nicole’s and most definitely worth the one click. The cover is gorgeous with that lust worthy man on the front. I highly recommend this book if you need someone to warm you up as well as all the other books in the author’s backlist.
The hero and heroine consider themselves technically stepsiblings but mostly they are just strangers who recently met as adults when their parents started a new relationship. She is a student and the hero has a history of taking part in top secret, dangerous military and security operations. I had a little hard time warming up to the heroine as she contemplates writing about him without telling him. Which immediately seemed like a bad, bad idea, considering he might not want the bad guys to know who he is and what he's doing no. But I enjoy this author's writing style although this book is a bit longer than I'd prefer.
The perfect wrong was always destined to be the right fit The Perfect Wrong by Nicole Snow completely wowed me with all the steamy and angsty elements of romance I happen to love. A gruff, grumpy, protective alpha full of dirty charm and a filthy mouth. Throughout all his huffing and puffing, purposeful shocking teasing, Chris is falling despite the self-talk. Delia is Chris’s opposite yet he brings out the playful, adventurous young woman hiding within. These characters and their stormy beginning stole my heart while Ms. Snow later eviscerated it only to put it back together again. The book is just crazy good! A little taboo, a lot steamy, building tension, an antagonist a reader will love to hate, suspense and danger, longing and fierce desire and above all, burning love that cannot be denied. The only wrong thing is that the wrong couple got together first! But, fate is at times diabolical (Ms. Snow) and love winning the day takes strength, determination, persistence and an unbreakable bond. Chris and Delia’s love story is twisted and manipulated and yet, not even the threat of death can tear them apart. Fate destined them to be together, it just took a very strange test of wills and wondering how something that feels to perfectly right could ever be considered wrong. Overall, Ms. Snow delivers another amazing, five star plus romantic suspense read beautifully merging this couple into her stellar Enguard Security series (and a Grizzlies MC mention) with a love story that whips the reader into a page turning frenzy from word one. Another thing for this reader to love is the HEA/epilogue I’ve come to expect from this author; heat, heart, love, laughter and so much promise of more to come. I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.
If I could give this book 0 stars I would. Horrible characters- big and small- boring “we can’t, I can, I should stop, I can’t stop” and a back story or three that was frankly boring. Disappointed because I have enjoyed some of her other titles.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Delia is the good girl, waiting on perfect timing or maybe just the right guy. Tonight she's definitely on the prowl. She's made a pact with her friend to let loose and find a man, any man would do as long as he could rock her world. Delia would prefer someone up for the challenge, but she just wants it over and done. She's tired of the stigma attached to it and tonight is as good a night as any. Delia is home from college to meet her new step brother. Her father recently remarried and the day to meet the new extended fam has finally arrived. Delia's enjoying the private party on the beach when moody, tattooed ex Navy SEAL Chris washes up on shore and basically crashes the party. Did I mention he's also crude and sexy as h£11? He also seems interested in Delia, big time. Delia has big plans for tonight and they have absolutely nothing to do with family, or so she thinks. FANTASTIC READ!!! SEXY, INNOCENT COLLEGE STUDENT AND A DETERMINED, ALPHA SEAL...LOVE IT!!! THIS BOOK WAS SO FREAKING AWESOME, IT STOLE MY HEART!!! A MOST DEFINITE ONE CLICK!!!!
I thought I was so over 'step-brothers'. and then I was sucked right back in. This isn't just a romance; be prepared for wildly swinging emotions. Some parts of the book were downright tough for Chris and Delia. Like, HARD. This book is on another level compared to the rest of the series. And I absolutely adore all her books. Everything from the initial meeting to developing the relationship was perfect. Then toss in mama drama, and a dad who has to make a check of his morals to support his daughter. Of course, all turns out but dang, the journey was not what I was anticipating. You will never be bored or disappointed with a book from Nicole Snow. ARC Copy for honest review.
Nicole Snow, how do you do it?!? Every book I read by you just gets better and better and my gosh was this book aptly named because this main man is definitely the most perfect type of wrong out there! Chris and Delia are VERY different sides to the spectrum, neither are exactly what they seem like, but definitely opposites about how they react to the situation that they find themselves in. My goodness words cannot describe how much I enjoyed The Perfect Wrong.
Basically, this book made me SMILE! It was oh so steamy and so sweet and just a REALLY GOOD STORY! We get to see a few familiar faces, which makes it even better, but even without it this book is going to be one that needs to be added to your kindle ASAP! It is absolutely a 5 star read from me!
PS: Thank you to Nicole Snow for allowing me an advanced copy of the book to read and review honestly!
Delia, the female lead, is trying to find a guy she wants to have sex with to lose her virginity. When she finds Chris, the male lead, on her father’s private beach, the attraction is mutual and intense. Then they’re both horrified the next day to find they’re stepsiblings. But the attraction doesn’t fade. Chris’ mother is a manipulative piece of work attempting to destroy Delia’s dad to maintain control of his money and Chris’ paramilitary job is leaking into their lives…
This long story is dual POV, well written, and an intense, complicated, highly erotic romance. It hits hard and I actually found it quite dense reading. I appreciated the personality contrast between Delia and Chris. I was amused by his evolving position regarding their relationship.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
When I started to read this story, I gobbled it up in one sexy delicious bite. Chris and Delia are forbidden but Chris has no issues that Delia is his stepsister. He cannot turn off the deep feelings he has for her. His mother and her father can't stop what they have together. Their relationship is put to the test when Chris gets captured by the cartel. Can their relationship survive when or if he returns to her.?
Their story is charged with passion, but also is full of vulnerability and deep emotion. Just when I think the last book Nicole wrote is the best yet, she goes and surprises me again to say this story is my new favorite.
Delia Burr is a virgin and her friend challenges her to lose it! She finds the perfect guy coming out of the water at the beach, a retired Navy SEAL named Chris Triton. But the next evening they both have dinner with their family to meet a new step-sibling. That put the brakes on very quickly. But a trip to Vegas with only one bed available makes a strong temptation to reconsider one’s choices. Will Delia resist the drool-worthy hunk? Or is it time to surrender to the SEAL?
Wow, what a great book. It grabbed my attention right at the beginning. Delia and Chris were opposites. She's a virgin college student who's inexperienced and naive. He's older, experience, damaged and a retired SEAL. It was insta attraction the minute they met at a beach party. A kiss like no other and she was hooked. Until the next day and they find out that her dad is marrying his mom. So wrong, but so right. The book will full of drama, some angst and chemistry that is explosive. A great book with characters who were made for each other. I read a free advance copy via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review it.

ABOUT THIS BOOK:
Fans of the Enguard Protectors series will be thrilled about this new book that takes place in the same Enguard Security world. It features cameos from a few familiar faces that Chris works with on their new mobile tactical team. His new boss is Sexton Jones, and the company is run by Landon Strauss.
The Enguard Protectors series includes: 1. Still Not Over You (Landon Strauss & Kenna’s story) 2. Still Not Into You (Gabe Barin & Skylar’s story) 3. Still Not Yours (Riker Woods & Olivia Holly’s story) 4. Still Not Love (James Nobel & Faye Harris’s story)
There is also a tiny connection to the Grizzlies MC series via Chris’s deceased father.
The Grizzlies MC series includes: 1. Outlaw’s Kiss 2. Outlaw’s Obsession 3. Outlaw’s Bride 4. Outlaw’s Vow IN THIS BOOK:
The story opens in the San Francisco area in late June.
Cordelia Burr, twenty-one, is about to begin her final semester of college at UC Berkeley. She is excited to finally begin her career as a journalist and make a life for herself. She still lives at home with her father when not in the dorms. It is a glamorous oceanfront mansion with gorgeous views. Daughter of billionaire airline chief Bruce Burr, she has led a privileged life. That hasn’t protected her from getting hurt, though. Her mother took off a number of years ago, leaving both Delia and her soft-spoken father behind to pick up the pieces. Bruce had put up with her mother’s scandalous behavior better than most men would, but Delia’s mother wasn’t happy being a wife and mother. Delia and her father had grown close over the years, but months ago, he suddenly remarried. Delia wants to be happy for her father, but she also doesn’t like the way the new Mrs. Burr talks to the help. Her father remains smitten, however, and expects her to go along and meet her new stepbrother.
Witnessing her parents’ marriage blow up probably left Delia a little hesitant in the relationship department. She has dated, but she just hasn’t found a guy she is comfortable enough with to consider giving up her innocence. Unlike her bestie Marnie, who goes from one man to another without a care in the world, Delia is afraid to take the plunge. She is trapped in her comfort zone. She knows she needs a little push to get out of her shell, so she willingly agrees to put the pressure on when she makes a pact with Marnie. If Delia hasn’t given up her innocence by the end of summer break, come September, Marnie gets to choose the man for the job. Marnie talks Delia into throwing another fabulous beachside party for a select group of friends and acquaintances with the hope that Delia will finally find the right guy and win the pact.
Chris Triton, twenty-five, never has trouble finding a woman to indulge in a night of pleasure. The tall and tattooed former Navy SEAL isn’t about pleasantries and doesn’t play games. He is a straight talker, unafraid to say what he means. He doesn’t care what others think of him anymore – not after the disastrous upbringing he survived. His father left him and his mother when Chris was little. An adrenaline junkie, his father joined the Grizzlies MC and died in an accident several years later. Chris was raised by his has-been Hollywood starlet mother, Evangeline Triton, who succumbed to substance abuse after that first marriage ended. His mother used him as a crutch in the years that followed, manipulating and lying her way through life to ensure she always gets her way. She occasionally gets treatment but to no avail.
At eighteen, Chris had had enough of his mother’s abuse and neglect, so he enlisted and never looked back. He has since gone to work for Enguard Tactical, a new mobile unit under Enguard Security, and settled in the San Francisco area several months ago. He and his mother have a strained relationship. Now on her fourth husband, she hopes to convince him to come visit her in her new home so she can introduce him. It happens to be nearby. However, it never works out well in the end for the husbands who get deceived and pulled into her drama, so Chris knows the situation is not permanent. Reluctantly, though, he finally decides to agree to meet for dinner.
When Chris and Delia first meet, their chemistry is shocking. Chris’s brash personality is equally eye-opening. Delia hardly knows how to handle the grizzly of a man, but she cannot deny her attraction to him. Chris hadn’t planned on meeting anyone when he left home for the evening, but he is certainly drawn to Delia. They might have a rocky start, but things quickly progress. They make plans to meet up again later, but Chris never expects to first learn that Delia is his new stepsister. Suddenly their heated attraction becomes forbidden, thanks to their parents’ unfortunate decision to marry. Worried about appearances, they both back off. But when something feels so right, no matter how wrong, it is hard to deny the truth. They eventually begin something on the down low but keeping their feelings a secret proves impossible. As Chris’s job puts him in the line of danger, things between the pair begin to get serious. The couple eventually finds a happy ending.
Don’t forget to download the free flash forward! Written in Chris’s POV, it gives a glimpse of life for the couple four-plus years in the future.
Wow! Chris and Delia’s steamy chemistry is amazing. They each come to the relationship with baggage. Their parents’ divorces left an impact, as did the abandonment by one parent. Chris is determined to remain single, never settling into a relationship, but he enjoys the occasional night of fun. He doesn’t believe he is missing out on anything, either. Delia is more focused on school and her future. She hasn’t been in the right headspace to make dating a priority. She is not necessarily opposed to the idea, but she also hasn’t found anyone that truly interests her.
Chris and Delia’s undeniable chemistry gets challenged when they discover the forbidden nature of their relationship. It might be a bit overstated at times, since they both met before discovering their parents were married, and because they were both adults at the time. The reason they are not together gets confusing as well. There are shifting issues. That said, it would certainly be cause for concern that their relationship might blow up and cause strain on the united family. It is a valid concern, but perhaps not as forbidden as they claim it to be under the circumstances. It is more like a coincidence that their parents have married.
There are a few issues that merit mention. *Spoilers* First, note that although the story states that it opens in late June, by the time July 4th comes around, it makes much more sense that the story opens in late May instead. It makes better sense all around. Additionally, Chris’s age is implied to be twenty-five, but later it is twenty-four. There are also a few situations in the story that feel more convenient than authentic. For example, Chris’s extended stay at the home feels contrived after blowouts with his mother. It is hard to believe they continue on after some of their words. The two effectively avoid one another, and surprisingly, his mother mentions nothing to Delia’s father. His mother also takes things too far for a newlywed – it is hard to believe she felt comfortable saying some of the things she did. As for Chris and Delia, they behave rather recklessly later in the story – shockingly so. I can see some of their behavior happening, perhaps, under certain conditions, but definitely not under the same roof as his mother. They claim to plan to tell Delia’s father about their relationship, but the delay is unnecessary. If delaying were to have been advantageous, then openly flaunting things for Chris’s vindictive mother was sheer stupidity and entirely defeated the point of the delay. I am also surprised that Delia didn’t speak up to her father on an occasion or two. Finally, given the length of Chris’s absence later in the story, it is surprising he didn’t suffer more than he did.
Chris and Delia’s steamy forbidden romance has it all – danger, action, family drama, and plenty of chemistry. The couple’s story starts out with a bang in a very memorable beach scene, but when the forbidden nature of their relationship is unveiled – that they are now stepsiblings – the brakes quickly cool things off. The story is nicely written. It is plot-driven. The couple evolves amongst the drama of their parents’ new marriage and the danger that follows Chris and Enguard. The characters are real and engaging. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Chris and Delia. I rate this book 4.5 stars.

Oh my gosh!! This book was so amazing. It's all the slow burn, angst, intense, sexy and forbidden goodness you could want. Delia and Chris are definitely opposites of each other. She's the inexperienced, rich college student that is still a virgin and he's the older, more experienced, grumpy retired Navy SEAL. They have an instant attraction, but then find out they are stepsiblings. Does that change things between them? Nope. I swear it makes things even hotter. A definite must read.
OMG! This book had me obsessed from the first page. Loved it, loved it, loved it! Delia is a naive, rich, virgin college student on summer break. Chris is a damaged, recently retired Navy Seal. These two meet at a summer beach party and have an instant connection. The next day they realize they are step siblings. They try and fail at keeping away from each other. The chemistry between these two is explosive. So hot and dirty. This book has all the good stuff with angst, suspense, family drama and forbidden love. Definitely a 5 star must read.

5 stars just doesn't cut it for this book....it deserves more! I absolutely LOVED this book, I think it's my favorite yet from this author. Once I started the book, I was up half the night needing to finish it. It had me hooked and I needed to know how it ended. This is a must read!!.

This book was absolutely delish. Steamy hot and seductively forbidden, this couple had me feeling all the feels while my temperature soared. I thought the story was fun and it kept me easily entertained and invested. This is my independent, impartial review.
I received this ebook ARC, from the author, on the condition that I write an honest review. Chris is a former SEAL, and now works for Enguard Security. He has had a rough childhood, because of his mother’s alcohol, and drug abuse. He is tough, and has no mouth filter. Delia is the only child of a rich man, whose wife has walked out on him, and Delia. Delia is nearing her graduation from college, but is having trouble writing her final thesis. She is lonely, and a little naive. While having a party, at her fathers beach house, she meets Chris, and an instant attraction begins. Delia’s father is married to Chris’s mother, and there the complications of Chris and Delia begin. Chris’s mother is controlling, and willing to do anything to get her way. The relationship between Chris and Delia just keeps getting stronger, and hidden, with repercussions from Chris’s jealous mother. While Chris is on a mission, he is captured a tortured, but images of Delia keep his spirit up. Meanwhile Chris’s mother attempts to destroy Delia, and controlling Delia’s father into sending Delia to an institution. Thankfully Delia’s father doesn’t believe everything that his wife has said about Delia. With Chris’s mom kicked out of the house, Delia and her father become closer, and he realizes that Chris is not the person that he believed. Chris returns from his mission, bruised, and some bones broken, but the couple reunites, and finally reach a heartfelt HEA. Nicole Snow writes strong romantic stories, with some suspense, and always a beautiful, emotional ending. I am so honored to be on her ARC team, and I’ll always recommend her books.

Delia has a life that from the outside looks perfect, although her mother abandoned her and her father years ago, it has just been them for so long, but he has recently remarried and although she wants to be happy for her dad there is just something about her new stepmother that is making her wary. But this will be her last year at college, and she is looking forward to finally living the life she has always wanted. There is one thing that she still has to experience and thanks to a bet with her best friend Marnie she needs to do and that is to finally let go of her V-card, she has until September or Marnie gets to choose the man to deflower her. So, what better to do than to throw a party at her father’s home with a select few guys but with no one appealing to her she takes a walk along the beach where she meets Chris. The chemistry that erupts between them is something that she has never experienced before, and she thinks that he is the man that she has been waiting for. But when they make plans to meet up the next night, but what will happen when she discovers who he really is and what their new relationship really is?
Chris is an ex-Navy SEAL and is in town to meet his mother’s new husband, his parents have never been what you can call responsible, his father upped and left him and his mother when he was younger off chasing an adrenaline high that had resulted in his death. The following years with his mother resulted in neglect and watching the ex-starlet fall into a drug addicted life. Once he could he knew that he had to get away and at eighteen he did exactly that, the years since have been strained between them and she us now on husband number four. He is on leave from Enguard Security and agrees to meet husband number four, however when he meets Delia on the beach and she invites him to a private party he cannot deny the attraction to her and wants so much more than just one night, but they are interrupted when things start to get heated between them and they agree to meet up the next night. Things don’t go to plan when they discover the very next morning that they are now step siblings. Will Chris be able to convince Delia that what they have is worth risking it all for or will his last mission come back to haunt him and take all that he loves away?
Whenever I get an ARC from this author, I am always super excited to read it as I know that I am going to get a book filled with romance, danger, suspense, shocks and steam. This one was no different and think that this book may have been my favourite to date. Both Chris and Delia are wary of love after watching what each of their parents went through, but after what Chris has experienced at his mother’s hands would make anyone think twice about falling in love. This is at times a book that will evoke anger especially for Chris’s mother, but it is a gripping story that will keep you engaged from page one. Highly recommended 5* read.
I read this because 1) an author I follow recommended it and 2) I like most of Ms. Snow’s novels.
Unfortunately, this one just isn’t for me.
I never connected with the main characters, “Christopher Triton” (“Chris”) and “Cordelia Burr” (“Delia”). In fact, I totally disliked both of them – Chris, especially. The character was too crude, too uncaring, too cold, and, for me, the motivation for his behaviors didn’t ring true. Yeah, he had a really horrible mother; being a SEAL was tough; and he went from frying pan to fire when he joined an elite security firm that works CIA/FBI-level stuff, but... come on! For most of the novel, I didn’t feel Chris had been written with any redeeming traits. Nor was enough background detail given to allow me to empathize with him, or accept that he had good reasons for his tendency to be an absolute jerk in any and all situations.
Then, there’s Delia... she is a doormat who gets pushed around by everyone – her “best friend,” Marnie; her father; her college thesis advisor; Chris’ mom, Evie; and very definitely by Chris. And, she’s an over-reactive mess – she slaps Chris across the face on more than one occasion (but, oh, he LIKES that), and for no real reason. She’s a wimpy mess who doesn’t really know what she wants and... just, no. I’m not feeling any love for this character, either.
Also, I didn’t notice any character evolution until somewhere around the 70% read mark. By that time, I didn’t care; my dislike of these two was firmly fixed in place and I was “skimming” and “scanning” the rest of the way through the novel.
I actually didn’t like any of the secondary characters, either – Chris’ mom, “Evangeline” (“Evie”) is a psychopathic, manipulative witch; Delia’s dad is a wimp; and, Delia’s best friend, “Marnie,” is an out-of-control man-eater who is more leech than friend. It’s sad that the only reason I kept “reading” the novel was to try to discover what had happened to Evie to turn her into such a waste of carbon – and to make sure she got a fitting end. (Unfortunately, I was disappointed in both regards.)
Finally, there were the overly long, drawn out, and way too frequent sex scenes. (Recently, another author I follow asked her mailing list whether too much steam is “too much” and, yes, it is – this novel is a perfect example!) I have never skimmed and skipped the steamy parts of other novels (including some by Auryn Hadley that singed my retinas), but I did with this novel!
I hate feeling this way, because an author I respect recommended it and because an author who I KNOW can write page-turners wrote it, but I didn’t like this one at all.
I won’t stop reading Ms. Snow’s works, but I definitely WILL be giving in to the temptation to DNF her future novels if any of them remotely resemble this one – a novel that I consider to be one of her duds.
I've always said Nicole Snow is hit or miss for me. I love her boss/employee books. Some of her small town books can be really good, depending on which series. She can do a really good enemies to lovers story. This one? Nah. Hard pass. First thing you need to know is that it's really Book 5 of the Enguard Protectors Series, which was overall a decent series. Not my favorite, but not the worst. Chris Triton works for Enguard, and this comes up quite a bit in the story. If you aren't familiar with the series and the company, it will be a little confusing as I feel like the whole thing as glossed over a bit in favor of Sexfest 2022.
And when I say Sexfest 2022, what I mean is Sexfest 2022: Forbidden Stepsibling Edition. Yes, that's right, we have a taboo relationship. Delia's the "good girl," attempting to get rid of her V-card before returning to her final semester in college. She meets this supa-dupa hot stranger on her rich dad's beach and decides he's the one. They have some sizzling chemistry, and despite him being crass and an alphahole. In fact, they almost do the nasty but are interrupted. Later, they find out that they're stepbrother and stepsister. Delia's father married Chris' train wreck mother. Do they care? At first, they tried. Eventually, it's too hard not to. So, they have to deal with their taboo relationship, Chris' whackjob mother, and the evil people going after Chris because of his work at Enguard.
It sounds good, and I think if some of the sex scenes were cut and more character development was put in, it would be better. Instead, we just got endless sex. Over and over and over again. I'd easily put this book in the erotica category. I got bored, and me likes the bam bam in the ham. I was so done with the book half way through. The funny thing was that I liked the story. It was just had a lot of problems. Chris' mom was the perfect bad guy you just loved to hate, and I loved how Snow explored their complicated relationship. That was fantastic. I wish the author would have spent the same amount of time with Chris and Delia talking and exploring a bit deeper but alas.
Overall, this was worth reading. I definitely wouldn't skip it. There's some good stuff here. It's way down on my top Nicole Snow book list, but that's okay. I didn't even realize she had a new one coming out. Thankfully, Amazon let me know it was out cuz Goodreads has been terrible about it.
I absolutely love a good step sibling romance story but this one had so much more depth than I was expecting!! It was my first Nicole Snow book and she hooked me in with her writing! The book takes you on a crazy roller coaster ride of their forbidden step sibling romance that is off limits but yet their chemistry is on fire and the romance is so hot! There is also so much suspense, angst and drama but the storyline is so captivating that it had me completely hooked! Plus I couldn’t resist the added dynamic of the good girl and an alpha hole former Navy seal! It makes for one hot opposites attract romance that is so forbidden but yet so good!
It all begins when the have a chance meeting one night while Delia is throwing a party and thinks that Chris is trespassing on her dad’s property. After making out and planning to meet again when they are interrupted, they are both shocked to see each other again the next day as Delia’s dad had married non other than Chris’s now. Now they are step siblings living in the same house and trying to resist one another. It’s incredibly difficult when the sexual tension between them is so palpable! Meanwhile, Chris has his own suspense happening on the side as he is a former Navy seal who now works for Enguard Security. It is still dangerous work and an issue has followed him home. From there, so much happens in this story but page after page it keeps you sucked into the addicting plot! There is never a dull moment as it keeps your attention until the very end! Of course, I also fell in love with the connection between Chris and Delia! I was swooning so many times and loved watching their connection heat up and explode! Hot romance plus a riveting plot equals a huge win in my book!!!
Aiden Snow & Aubrey Vincent did an incredible job with the narration of this book!! I absolutely loved it on audio!!! Aubrey captured Delia’s good girl personality perfectly with her voice! Meanwhile, Aiden had the sultry deep tone that matched so well for this former Navy seal! Together they both made this audio such an enjoyable listen and had me not wanting to hit pause because it was that easy to listen to! They gave a fantastic performance of this rollercoaster forbidden romance! Definitely worth listening to this one on audio!!!
He's a Beast. To say I'm a fan of this author would be a boring understatement. I've been reading, and loving, her books for years. Her signature writing style, full of wit, charm, and steam is perfect for those dark alpha heroes I love.
Then came Chris Triton.
I didn't like him. He's brash, cocky, opinionated, and over the top. I thought it had finally happened... Ms. Snow created an alpha I didn't want anything to do with. For all his protectiveness, he has that air of dominance that tap dances too close to the line for me. He doesn't really listen to Delia, he pretty much tells her what she wants. Delia seemed a little too mousy to stand up for herself as well- something I'm not keen on.
Disappointment set in.
But I stuck with the book because she's Nicole Snow. And because she's so good at her craft, she turned everything dark into something beautiful and totally worth my time. No, she didn't change Chris' character. He was still a man with a big mouth and no filter. He still had his opinions and desires (oh, boy, did he have desires!). But he matured into a character I enjoyed, and he brought Delia into her own as well.
Chris and Delia are that beautiful fated-souls kind of love with an extra side of super-steamy. Chris has a rather large... ahem... appetite that keeps them busy pretty much whenever they're together. But there actually is more to them than "just" dynamic bedroom antics. As events evolve, they become a strong and united couple, forged by adversity into a mighty team of two. By the time the HEA hit, I had overcome my dislike for Team Triton and had to admit this is a great story.
I'm happy to see this story returning us to the Enguard team of protectors. Those were most probably my favorite stories by this author since I love romantic suspense.
Readers should be aware that Chris Triton really speaks his mind, and does it colorfully, with as many jarring and socially inappropriate words as he wants. If this is something that is likely to offend you, please consider that before picking up this great read.
Hmm, am I really about to DNF at 90%? Yes. I.Have.Had.Enough
Update: skimmed the last 10 percent. Downgraded to one star. When I think it can’t be worse, reading the same sex scene for the trillionth time, now with the pregnancy troupe. Not the ”I can’t wait to start a family with you and raise our kids”, but ”I want to mark you as mine and having you pregnant within a year of your college exam to make sure to kill your career early and make you a house wife (ok the last part not explicitly stated but it is ONLY he that pushes for the pregnancy and they never talk about their thoughts about kids either.) Yikes! And of course- to push us further- last orgasm she has in the book is a wet one. Ok. Great for her. A bit strange since he seems to be doing the same routine as always. But his reaction ”so you’re a squirter? It doesn’t matter”. Wow…how romantic…
Maybe no human was part of writing this…that would explain things maybe.
The good: Cute story on some level?
The bad: There is no real reason for the drama. It comes down to two adults (20 plus) who gets together even if their parents just married. So…who cares???
No one of course gives a shit about that. Her father is for some reason against them being together (mostly maybe to do with him being a soldier), his mother is a TOTAL nutjob, not believable at all. For some reasons she seems to hate both her son and her husband’s daughter. Maybe this is jealousy, and if she was a tiny bit smart about it and done some real scheming, but all she does is yell, show at people and planting drugs in the most laughable manner. She also films them banging openly in the wine cellar and sends the film to her father…oaagh gross.
The tension between the MCs is good in the first chapter, then it all goes to zero tension and chemistry when the start to f*ck. And f*ck. And f*ck. And….that is what is taking like 2/3rds of the book. No kidding. Repetitive as hell. She’s ”having the biggest orgasm in life” alternate with ”felt like being ripped in two” The repeat again and again and again. Until at last she actually passes out when they do it. For real?????
The plot is super thin.

This is a great contemporary romance story about two adults, who catch each other’s attention, only to have their lives upended when they find out their parents have married and now they are technically step-siblings. Ok, let’s state the obvious, this is taboo without actually being any bit taboo. Safe danger and all that, even so it’s still a really fun and exciting book to read. The characters are solid and believable and both of the main characters are easy to like. It’s written very well, and it’s probably one I’ll pick up again before to long to read a second time.
5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.
4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.
3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.
2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.
1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

OMG!! Nicole Snow did it again and wrote an absolute masterpiece. This story…this story! I never thought I would have such a range of emotions. It is a scalding and incisive book of forbidden love, marriage, action, kidnapping, human trafficking, and family bonds that come undone in the wake of a love affair.
Christopher (Chris) Triton is an enigma of a man who never shows weakness, he is overwhelming, foreboding tattooed ex-SEAL that uses a plethora of expletives, cold-hearted, and always trying to please and help his cruel, addictive mother. But don’t let that fool you because Chris is a man with a soft heart despite his hard as steel exterior and how dangerous his job is, but when he meets Cordelia (Delia) Burr, he is very protective and possessive. I love seeing a strong powerful man who always seems to be in control go out of his mind with jealousy and wanting someone so much.
Delia was raised by her father because her mother left them. Delia made a bet with her best friend to relinquish her V-card by the end of their summer vacation. When Delia met Chris, she was surprised how attracted she was to him. The explosive attraction and passion between Chris and Delia is unparalleled—it is off-the-chart HOT!
There were several surprises that were one hell of a way to blow your mind—I was flabbergasted with the unexpected revelations that happened, but it is jaw-dropping good! Not all of its surprises are pleasant ones, but there is a certain satisfaction in experiencing a thread that is so obstinately unexpected. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
What's a good girl to do when the perfect tattooed specimen of a bad boy ex SEAL is caught trespassing on her father's private beach?? Dream of giving him her V card!!! Delia made a pact with her bestie...either you pick a man or I will. Shortly after meeting the mystery man Delia gives into temptation and lets a man touch her for the first time. A text from her father about family business puts the brakes on their smoking interlude. Little did they know the family business included them both. Chris's mother is now married to Delia's dad!!! What was once a promising fling just turned into taboo hell. No matter how hard they fight it their chemistry can't be denied. Throw in a cartel out for blood, a single bed on a Vegas trip, lust, lies, betrayal and Enguard Security to try to save the day and you have the perfect story!! So many emotions in this book you can't help but continue to read on. Plot twists to keep you on the edge of your seat....AND....another amazing read from Miss Nicole Snow!!! His/her POV, taboo love, no cheating, no cliffhanger and one helluva HEA. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. I highly recommend this MUST READ...Nicole Snow is an automatic One Click for me. Don't miss out on this soul scorching tale of the step-beast and his princess.
Cordelia (Delia) is in a bet with her best friend, Marnie, to lose her V-card before the end of the summer. She’s hosting a party at her Dad’s house, with an open bar, private beach, swimming pool and lots of available guys. However, none of them fit the bill for what she’s looking for. As she wanders off down the beach, she sees a rock-hard swimmer emerge from the water. He’s large, sculpted, graceful and has a dragon tattoo on his chest, with a handsome face and green eyes. She invites him, Chris, to join the party and the two of them hit it off right away, as she “almost” wins her bet with Marnie, if they hadn’t been interrupted by a phone call from her Dad. The two make plans to meet up the following evening to finish what they started. However, fate has other plans in store for them, as they discover that he’s the son of the woman her Dad only recently married; he’s her step-brother!
Chris is a former Navy SEAL and now works for Enguard Security, a private company that takes jobs the government can’t. He was involved in a mission recently that involved young children being taken and held by a Mexican drug cartel boss for his own enjoyment. Chris had to make a choice to save a young girl that was bleeding out or go after Jordan Warzach, the leader. He chose to save the girl, but has nightmares about the mission. He is equally appalled that Delia is his step-sister, but doesn’t let that hold him back since they aren’t really related.
Nicole Snow knows how to wring out every drop of ecstasy and agony in her books and this one is no exception. Her character development is thoroughly displayed in the depths of Delia’s and Chris’ thoughts and actions. The steam is off the charts and beautiful. Chris’ mother is the antagonist and there are several events that add the elements of danger and angst. The world building was just enough to enhance the book without overwhelming the story. I absolutely loved this book!
My rating: 5 Stars!.

Delia bets her best friend that she’ll punch her v-card before college graduation and soon after, fate drops the perfect man into her life. Chris Triton is the hottest thing she’s ever seen and he just gets better as the night goes on. Between his filthy mouth and magic hands, Delia thinks she may have died and gone to heaven. But when reality sets in, things are bad. That hot night on the beach can never be more than a memory because Chris is now her stepbrother. Delia’s uptight father and Chris’s nightmare of a mother would never accept a relationship between them. Besides, it was just supposed to be a hot fling but those hopes are dashed since he’s going to be a fixture in her life. She vows to keep him at arms’ length so he can’t work his magic on her again.
Chris likes to keep things simple and avoid complications. And Cordelia has complication written all over her. It doesn’t matter that he’s never wanted anyone like this, he has to stay away from her. Except he can’t. The man can withstand torture after being captured by the enemy, but he can’t keep himself away from Delia, no matter how hard he tries. Their story is steamy, like five-alarm fire hot so these two bring the spice. Her wicked stepmother and his dangerous job make for a lot of trouble, but nothing can keep them apart.
I really enjoyed the characters. Delia is a little naïve but she’s tough and Chris might be one of my favorite characters ever. This story pulled me in right away and I loved everything about it. This book is too good to only read once.
