Some books you gobble up and others you savor. This was a book that I wanted to savor! Like an 8 course menu at a fine dining restaurant, I took my time because it was just so good!
How did we get here?! Whew that is a loaded question especially after that ending. This is the first story I’ve read where the heroine is in love with two men. Two amazing me! Two BDE nxggas!! The way the story was written had me confused about who should be chosen so I know Avery gone have a hard time….. but after that cliffhanger who knows.
Avery is in her mid 20’s and on her boss $hit! She in school to get her masters in film and also works as a loctician. She is a pure, genuine and kind soul and connects with men on a level deeper than sex. I guess you can consider her an empath because she sees her men on a level that makes them feel seen and desired beyond the physical.
Jabril is lover number 1. He’s a reformed thug if you will that is no stranger to the street life but has turned over a new leaf. He’s legit-ish and is trying to make a name for himself outside of the drug game. He’s come a long way from being a corner boy and want a partner that he can build with. Someone that can shut ish down by his side in the boardroom and throw band by his side at the strip club. Well Avery is that for him and more, there just one problem….. I won’t give it away so read 🤣🤣
Monaco Zuri is lover number 2. He’s a musician and a tortured soul. The spotlight that he shares with his twin brother has drained him in every way a person can be drained. No one seems to see him drowning… that is until Avery attends one of his concerts and tells him she loves him from the crowd. Unlike the typical fan love that an artist like him experiences he feels her words in the depths of his soul and because Avery can see the sadness behind his eyes she wants nothing more than to save him and be for him what’s missing in his life. They connect on a deep level and just when they are finally ready to take their bond to the level, Monaco’s past comes like a bolt of lightening and shocks Avery to her core.
I did not realize this story was the start of a new series and I really need to stop torturing myself like this! This was such an amazing, well developed in depth story! This is also my first read by this author and so far I’m impressed! I can’t wait to see how this story continues to unfold and who eventually wins Avery’s heart!

God Bless A Milk Cow 😱😱😱
I loved this book so much. The author really did a good job with this story. Well written characters, a great story line and explosive plot. Avery hoped to one day find her person, that one who matched her energy. Not only did she find one, she found two. Each man managing to carve out a special place in her heart for different reasons. Her ability to see them for who they were and the way she poured into them had them both down bad over her. This story was so well written, the author had me switching sides. One minute I’m #TeamJabril and the next I’m #TeamZuri. She had me trying to guess who would be the first to pop that cherry, who Avery would choose, and who I liked the best. I liked that Jabril spoke his mind. He was upfront and there was no guessing his intentions. He had major BDE mixed with that hood swag. He was hood famous, wealthy and a BOSS. Zuri was more of a mystery. He was a bit closed off but you could tell he was dealing with some past demons. Zuri was rockstar famous, wealthy and exuded BDE in his own way. Honey everything was fine until that tumultuous ending. I did not see that lot twist coming.

Perfect first read of the new year! I was captivated from the beginning. Somehow, I never felt like Avery was wrong. She wasn’t tied down but I didn’t like the dynamic with Jabril. Whew, that ending though?! I knew Landra was dirty and I also knew there was something with Amila too. I just wasn’t expecting THAT. Im moving on to part 2 EXPEDITIOUSLY!

This was kind of a slow read I wasn’t expecting there to be 2 lovers. I don’t like love triangle but I was too deep in to not keep reading. Avery is really the main character she had Zuri stuck since the first chapter literally. Zuri is mysterious and smooth while Jabril is so assertive and confident. Im not gonna lie I’m Team Jabril … I just love the way Jabril carried himself and the way he treated Avery. I do like Zuri but he seemed too mysterious … and chile that ending too much tea was spilled. Like where are these kids coming from? We need a DNA test. Im not sure if part two will make me change to Team Zuri but I need answers. Who is Avery pick? Can she keep both ?
I will say A’zayler knows how to write characters conversation around mental issues. The character development, the twist and turns … the plot was plottin.

This book was recommended to me, and I'm glad I read it. I didn't expect that ending, and I feel sorry for Avery. I'm torn between Jabril and Zuri, but I'm leaning toward Jabril. He didn't lie, or sugarcoat anything. With him, you knew what you were getting into it. Zuri was a mystery, but that's what made him intriguing. I really do hope that chick was lying. I should be going to bed, but I have to at least start part 2.

Wow...what a cliff hanger!
This book was reading like a good love story but I should have known better with the title. It is always said that whats done in the dark will come to the light and let me tell you...these secrets are juicy! I just feel bad that Avery is caught in the middle or linked to them. She seems like such a good person that deserves happiness. I like her & Jabril together...especially the way he lifts her up and speaks that Boss mentality to her. Zuri is definitely a little weird and seems like a dominant Alpha male so I kind of believe what Amila is saying. But I also believe her meeting Avery was not accidental. And Shalandra...that situation came out of left field because of all the things I thought she had going on, that wasnt it! Im definitely ready for part two because I NEED to see how this plays out.

OMG that cliffhanger was a whole lot to digest!! This book was a pager turner,wig pulling off, multiple cups of wine kind book it had so entertained you dont wanna put it down!! So did Amila already know about Avery and Zuri or was her helping Avery fro the heart? Zuri i believe did do something to Amila because he shows nothing but aplha-male and controlling ways..Jabril is gonna kill Shalandra 🤣🤣 thats why she aint never have time for him or trying to improve her life..Ohh when he founds out one of them kids not his 😬😬Avery is really in the middle of 2 messed up situations 🤦🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️..Who do she stand 10 toes down with? Who does her heart belong too? Whoa its about to be some mess and I'm SOOO READY for the next part‼️‼️Amazing Job as always🙌🏾🙌🏾

This book was very intriguing. It is very well written, with a great storyline and character development. The dynamic the author put together between these characters has you wondering may the best man win. Avery, a single woman, is keeping her options open, but at the same time, she has a special place in her heart for Jabril and Zuri. What I liked about Jabril was that you knew what you were getting with him. He let you know up front what his situation was and what he really wanted. Zuri was a complete mystery, but that's what made you want to get to know more about him. After that bombshell ending, I feel so bad for Avery. What is the actual truth behind Amira and Zuri. And I knew Shalandra was up to no good. Can't wait to read how things end in part 2.

I can’t even explain…
Omg so my girl Azayler has done it again.. this is definitely not your typical love story Avery out here in love with 2 men and they both the GOAT honey I was reading every chapter switching between who I thought she should choose as I went along and I all I want to say is I want to be like Avery when I grow up 😂 from the first page to the end this book pulled me in! I can’t describe the emotions I got from reading this story the over the top love I just want everybody to come out on top. Unfortunately there’s only one Avery I can’t wait to see what happens next

It took me a while to start this one. And once I did start it still took me a minute to get into it. But once I did I couldn't put it down. Every time Avery went back and forth between the guys I just knew which one she needed to be with... and it switched back and forth each time lol. I didn't realize this was not a standalone, otherwise I would have waited for part 2 to come out first bc I really just need to know some things about the ppl in this book. So much drama at the end

Not gone lie, it took me a while to get into this story but when I finally did I could not put it down. It started off slow true enough but once it got passed certain chapters I was in all the way. I respect Jabril so much because the way he handles himself is real boss like but I respect him for not carrying Avery along knowing he needed to sort his relationship out first. Zuri always have the intention that he was hiding something but I didn’t expect him to be hiding Domestic Violence and a child. Not one time in this book did he mention his kid, like WTH! Avery girl more power to you because you gave this man something you can’t get back girl and he hooked. Great read and can’t wait to see what part 2 holds

When I say I couldn’t put this book down! Baby this book had me in a chokehold do you hear me! I was pulled in my the gate. At this point can this just be a polyamorous relationship because look she can’t choose and neither can I. So can she just have them both. And that ending. I didn’t see that plot twist coming at all! Let me go read part 2! Got my freaking nerves bad! Phenomenal!

This story had me from page one. I’m normally not for love triangle but this one is so good. I am so torn between who I want her to choose. Zuri is just so mysterious and sexy and Jabril is so gangster and assertive. This story is just so good and that ending I need book 2 like yesterday.

I feel bad for Avery she had to choose between zuri and jabril.I wish zuri would have told Avery about his pass before she found out from amila.dont get me wrong zuri should of kept his's hands to himself. What a way to begin a series
It was alot going on in this book. Mental health issues for the male leads. I feel like I was judging these characters without having the whole story. I wanted Jabril and Avery to get together then Zuri and Avery. But that ending has my stuck. I hope love will prevail in the end. Good read.

I’m trying to sort out my feelings on this one. I was very bothered and disappointed by Avery’s decision to become involved with Jabril, especially knowing his relationship status. She was so much better than that but decided to take the “low road”. I’m very interested to see how this situation will play out with Zuri.

Avery is going through it with these men. She is so confused and although she loves them both, neither deserve her. The ending had me screaming runnnnnnn……I could picture the story in my head, can’t wait for part 2.

This was my first time reading this author, and I am in love. This is very well written. The pacing was just right. The contester between the two male main characters gave the story dimension. I can't wait to get to part 2.
