It's also not too spicy and often sweet! The history of Cantonese can be traced back to 2000 years ago, as early as the Han Dynasty. It was brought to America by Chinese immigrants in the 19th century.

In Cantonese cooking, there is lesser use of chilies and spices and more reliance on special condiments and sauces like oyster sauce, black bean sauce, and sweet and sour sauce.
