I was skeptical of this book, but I really enjoyed it. I’ve always liked Mauricio, not sure how I would feel about the book if I wasn’t familiar with him before reading.
Though he doesn’t offer any groundbreaking advice, I found this to be a super approachable business book. Mauricio is extremely successful in a unique job, but I felt he offered a lot of advice anyone who manages employees can use. He also admitted some mistakes, talked about getting fired and his falling out with Rick Hilton and more, unique for a business book.
I especially appreciated his emphasis throughout the book on work/life balance. It’s clear Mauricio loves his wife and daughters and prioritizes being a family man.
A let down and a like. Mauricio has no ground breaking advice and he is painfully optimistic at times. Being in sales myself, a lot of his mantras and stories seem surface level. HOWEVER, I adore Mauricio and Kyle on RHOBH so I had to read. The book flows quickly and is quite adorable as you can feel his passion for real-estate, his company, his girls, and beyond. He has a story to be proud of and that’s what made me like it.
Honestly was disappointed with this book as the hype associated with it made it seem like there would be more relevant content to his rise to fame. He talked about real housewives drama and his time in the Bravo shows. Not a great read if you were into success info.
Best book I've read from someone in the real estate industry at a high level. I think you'll appreciate it most if you're in sales, specifically real estate. My niche is luxury sales in NYC so it helped learning information specifically for this area of real estate.
His work ethic and dedication to family sounds good on paper but sadly, his marriage did end after he published this book. I enjoyed reading his love story with Kyle and his backstory. Maybe success does come at a price.
Umansky provides equal parts memoir and guidance in this easy-to-read, insightful passage. The biggest surprise I found was his willingness to be incredibly candid, naming some names and pulling no punches. He speaks his mind and shares openly, giving strength to the individual reader ready to pick up their load and carry it forward into their future.
Gotta be honest. I bought the book to learn about real estate. I did not But I read a fascinating account of how Mauricio's mind works. Again. Great read.
