The fall season is in full swing, the streets of Conflict, Oregon festooned with displays for the annual Scarecrow Festival. But tattoo season is over at the Graphomancy tattoo shop, and apprentice Jen finds a side gig at the local haunted attraction to make ends meet. Local crime writer Andy Cooper talks Jen and her witch-mentor Lilith into investigating a clue at the Luxe Theater. What starts off as no big deal suddenly blows up. Renovations have uncovered the lair of serial killer Peter Piper, and they aren’t the only ones aware of the evidence. Police are onto them, as well as the FBI. Worst of all, it seems the serial killer has come out of retirement—and he’s after Jen and Lil.
Sara Bourgeois is a Midwesterner through and through. She spends her time writing, reading, herding cats, and standing in her driveway during tornado warnings. (You can't see them from the basement.)
This is an entertaining paranormal cozy mystery series. Great cast of characters and an entertaining storyline. Lil and Jen work at a tattoo shop in a small town called conflict Oregon. Their shop graph oh Mansi is in the theater district in the rough neighborhood of the city. Little is a witch who uses graph oh Mansi to create magic tattoos with Minnie wildly wondrous results. Jen is her apprentice as well as a normal tattooist getting by. Together they usually end up involved in some local crime trying to help someone out to clear them or to save them. They have an author friend that helps them on occasion as well. They also have a hairless cat that looks like something from another world that each of them can actually talk to and it can talk back to them. Wildly entertaining and unique series. Check it out.
ARC Review I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It's fall in conflict organ jen and lilith from the graphomancy ink and since it's slow at this time of the year they help Andy Cooper find some clues on serial killer Pete pipper. While Jen also gets a side gig at the slash and shock to help with money . Awesome crime story.
Sara Bourgeois has taken my favorite holiday up a notch or two in this book. Scarecrow and serial killers take the stage as Halloween looms. As always, Cat is my favorite character, but Jen and Lil lead the charge as the local haunted attraction becomes a place of mayhem .
Great fun. Love the hairless cat. What a piece of work. I'm sure if I could hear mine she'd be just as sarcastic. Glad Jen is going for her license. Looks like Andy still has another book. Yea.
So, so, close! Lil and Jen didn’t even realize how close they came. I was unable to put this book down. My eyes have been so wide open reading this, they’re dry! Lol! I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book!
