The war is far from over as the Novans and Turners close in, leaving destruction and death in their wake. Max always suspected sharing a bond with someone wouldn’t be easy, but no one warned him of the pain and trials that would come along with it. Especially when his Mentalist is singled out by the Novans. From Terra to the distant Libra constellation, both Defender and Mentalist learn their destinies are far from set. And their every move may very well decide the fate of the Galaxy.
But having a Soulbrother isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. With every turn, their bond is stretched and tested beyond anything they expected. And that which is broken can’t always be mended.
P.D. Atkerson is a homeschooled writer, living in Montana, who may or may not be a secret agent. She spends almost as much time in the worlds she creates as she does the real one. When she’s not reporting the stories of her agents, she’s learning different languages, or traveling to different worlds through the portals of books. She has a black belt in sarcasm and a master’s degree in useless facts.
You give me this book to read, then expect a coherent review?
Yeah, ain't happening.
Testing? Loved it. ⚔ Wandering? Warmed and shredded my heart all at once. ✨Falling? . . . 😭💔
I'm speechless. After all they've went through, and P.D. goes and writes this book. Max and Aidan? This is love, people. Real. Love. A bond that is so strong it defies reality and thwarts expectations. *This* is loving your brother enough to die for him.
They've been through so much. But is their bond strong enough to span the separation of galaxies?
Man! Are you trying to kill me with this?!? I can’t stand it!! I must know what happens next! I literally could NOT hold still!!! Next book PULLEASE!!!
*wink wink, it’s really an awesome book series but I tend to get over involved, without even trying to. It’s something I can’t really help!*
Word to the wise from the not-so wise: never, ever, ever pick up a P. D. Atkerson book before bed and tell yourself, "I'll just read a chapter." Because as someone speaking from experience, "one more chapter" turned into staying up until 1:30 AM to finish the series. Yes, THE SERIES.
I know there was way more to this book then the ending but oh my gosh. THE ENDING. My heart utterly broke, and I was legit crying. After everything they went through together and then THAT?! Oh my, I don't think I can anymore.
But can I just say, these two boys?? They are perfect. I wish I had little Aidan and Max incarnates in my life because I really really need them. Max and his overwhelming desire to protect Aidan, and Aid with his big blue eyes that hold a past of heartache and pain. (Can you tell I maaaybe fell in love with these boys?) And if I thought this book was rough? Oh boy, just you wait for Battling . . .
Another amazing installment in this one-of-a-kind series, with an unforgettable ending scene. For more of my thoughts on the series, read my review of Battling of the Stars (spoilers hidden).
I was warned the the ending was wonderful. But what no one told me was that the whole book was that way. It started with a bomb blowing up Aidan's lab, and it ended with [REDACTED]. And near the middle, when Aid [REDACTED]... It was terrible. I don't even want to count the times Max and Aidan almost died in those 361 pages. And now I have to wait for Battling.
This book…..this book broke my heart in a way no other P.D Akterson book has! 💔 By the end I was sobbing! 😭 I LOVED it so much! (Not the ending though, the ending was heart-wrenching!!) I can't wait to read “Battling”!! So far I think this one is my favorite of the series!
