It's here! Look at what readers are saying about PRAY WITHOUT DECEASING:

PLENTY OF TWISTS AND TURNS: "This was a heart-warming story showing a close-knit community and friendly characters who support each other. The plot and characters were well-written, making you wish you lived in Banford. Plenty of twists and turn to keep you completely engaged. This is a fantastic Christian cozy mystery and I look forward to the next story. I highly recommend the series." Betty – Goodreads

EXCELLENTLY WRITTEN: "This is one excellently written mystery with a bit of intrigue and a lot of interesting situations. Each book in the series gets better and better. Take a walk through town with Cassie and Daniel. You won't regret it." Antonia – Goodreads

HEART-WARMING: "This is such a good series! Cassie and Daniel are engaged to be married and he reluctantly assists her in identifying murderers. The way the author describes Cassie’s feelings for Daniel as well as the settings in the book makes you think you are right with them and part of the action. This a Christian story and it’s heartwarming to read a book that does have even a reference to sex. I recommend this series to anyone who likes a good cozy mystery with lots of twists." Carol – Goodreads

LOVED THE CHARACTERS: "Loved the characters, especially Cassie and Daniel as they were working, trying to solve a murder, and learning how to communicate better. Lots of twists and turns and a few surprises." Retired_aunt – Bookbub

CHRISTIAN THEME THROUGHOUT: "Cassie and Daniel have to finish renovating their house, work on their relationship, and solve a murder. I love the characters, the Christian theme throughout, and the means of murder is not your typical method." Karen – Goodreads

Oh, what a delight to have Cassie, Daniel, Lexy and Brent back. As Cassie and Daniel are renovating the mansion that will be their home, tension starts to build between the two of them. He is agreeable to everything Cassie wants in their new home; she wants him to participate in the decision making and thus the tension. Cassie turns to her faith and Grams to help her understand the layers of a relationship. On top of this, a murder take places and Cassie gets involved. The new officer in town is trying to take over and make life difficult for Brent every step in investigating the murder. Working with Brent, will Cassie gather the clues to solve this case, help Brent save his job, and work out the issues with Daniel?

This was a heart-warming story showing a close-knit community and friendly characters who support each other. The plot and characters were well-written, making you wish you lived in Banford. After attending one of Cassie’s grandmother’s friends funeral her grandma decides it is time to make her own funeral arrangements. Cassie was reluctant to do this but her grandma was set on her decision. Cassie starts looking around the funeral home and stumbles upon a body in a casket in the storeroom. Cassie and her fiancé start snooping around and get involved in solving this murder. I laughed out loud when they got dressed up to go to the fight club and then poor Daniel gets a busted lip.

Brent and Lexy have a new controlling boss and he is trying to get rid of Brent so he can hire one of his buddies. So Cassie is bound and determined to save Brent’s job. But she gets into some bad situations a lot of the time. They are also working on this old mansion that Cassie always wanted but unfortunately Daniel won’t help Cassie make any decisions and she wants them to decide jointly. Grandma tells her relationships are just like layering you need to peel them all back. I loved how Cassie was throwing out about the cabinets in the kitchen being painted purple with butterflies on them!

I received this ARC from the author for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book shows that books can be free of vulgarities and coarse language and still be profitable!

Cassie is investigating the death of a man who is rumored to have died by accident. But was it an accident or was it murder! Cassie is on the hunt for answers and won’t stop until she finds those answers!

Along the way he love life is having a crisis of its own though as she has convinced herself her fiancé isn’t really that interested in her, their home or life together. Can Cassie have the moral fortitude to confront Daniel and lay out her fears and concerns or will she just push those thoughts away and hope they won’t resurface!

I enjoyed this book and this series and recommend it as one which shows an author can write a clean series without vulgarities and language and be a best seller because of it! Take a bow Wendy!

This book has some good advice and I hope all the readers will see it and apply it in their everyday lives! You’ll be happier if you do I guarantee it!

Nice to read another story in this clean, Christian series! Cassie and Daniel are in the middle of rehabbing an old mansion Cassie has admired a for long time and planning to get married. Brent and Lexie have a new older and very bossy colleague at the station making things difficult for everyone. He quickly closes a case as an accidental death that Cassie believes is a murder, and she starts investigating, to Daniel’s dismay. Grans gives her some great relationship advice to help some communication problems she and Daniel are having. I received free copy of the book from the author and write this review voluntarily.

I think this was the best Cassie adventure yet. :)

It's exciting that Cassie's dream mansion is being rebuilt; it's disturbing that there's a "new cop" in town; it's terrifying that yet another murder occurs. Cassie and her team are up for the challenge, though, and along the way Cassie learns more about herself and her budding relationship with Daniel. Not to mention a little more about thinking before acting. It was good to have reminders of learning how to ask for what you need and not leaving anger unresolved for a long period of time.

I received an ARC; this is my honest review.

Once again Cassie is on a case. She is at a funeral with her grandmother & Daniel & at the interment she notices something odd. Next thing her grandmother decides she needs to start planning her own funeral & they go to the only funeral place in town. There, whilst looking around, Cassie finds a dead body! Meanwhile a new policeman has been posted to Bancroft. He’s a bully & know-it-all. Declares a suicide & closes the case! Red rags & bulls came to mind. Cassie is determined to get justice for the victim.

Cassie and Daniel are so adorable together. Daniel is such a trooper going along with Caesar's ideas when trying to solve a murder mystery. This book is just as awesome as the previous ones and does not disappoint. I truly love how Wendy incorporates God and faith into her stories. They make the reader pause and reflect in certain parts of the story. I cannot wait until Daniel and Cassie marry and see what sorts of trouble, they get into😁

Small town- big mystery!
Once again Wendy Heuvel has put together a story that is so interesting fun to read! One thing I always appreciate about her work is that she writes with quality that is consistent throughout the story! And Pray Without Deceasing is certainly no different. Some authors put “filler” in the middle of their books seemingly just to make them longer but not Wendy! You’ll be happy for picking this book up and enjoy escaping to the wonderful town of Banford along with its variety of townsfolk!

I MUST ADMIT THAT I WAS STUMPED! Book five had me rapidly reading while trying to help Cassie and laughing at what she put Daniel through. Cassie was finally getting the dream house of her youth and she was angry that Daniel did not take an active role in the decor. Her nosiness at the funeral home has her finding a body and she has Daniel pretending to be a fighter as she interrogates the promoter forgetting her promise to Brent and getting Daniel a fat lip! I ENJOYED BOOK FIVE AND CASSIE!!

The author always provides a good mystery and fallible characters trying to be better. Of course Cassie is up to her neck in trying to solve a murder, figure out her relationship with Daniel and banish a bad policeman. What could go wrong?

Visiting funeral house with her grandmother and searching for proper cascet, Cassie stamble upon dead body of the one of the workers. Cassie has a feeling that it is a murder even when police officer decided to close investigation. Was it murder or maybe self poisoning as suggested policeman? Take the book and find out.

It is cosy mystery which keep you alerted and which is easy to read and hard to put away before finishing it. Characters are authentic and sympatical

Cassie Bridgestone’s life is going great! Handsome fiancé (Daniel),successful store ran with her family, and her favorite fluffy kitty, (Pumpkin). However, after a disagreement with Daniel, Cassie has doubts that he might not be the man she thought he was. Just before they can work things out, she discovers a dead body in a crazy fashion.
The evidence points to an accidental death, but Cassie’s sixth sense tells her that’s not the truth. To make things worse off, a new cop in town is doing his best to not look for the real cause and just close the case promptly. Now it’s up to Cassie to solve the mystery, and try and work things out with Daniel at the same time.
This is the fifth book in the Faith and Foils Cozy Mystery Series, and I have personally read each one of them. I adore this series, the characters feel like my family members. The story is so realistic and true, it feels genuine and authentic. You want to cheer with the happiness of the story and you want to growl at the maddening parts of the story. I feel that the author Wendy Heuvel, really portrayed the story well and brings in the right amount of God into the story to make the story jump over the top! I recommend this book to all cozy readers who like a dash of romance and a blessing of God on top. Great read!

A good, wholesome, clean mystery. One of Cassie's grandmother's friend has died. After the funeral, the grandmother wants to plan her funeral. Cassie goes with her to funeral home, and while looking around finds a dead body in a casket. You would expect that in funeral home but not when the body is that of an employee and it is in a storage room. The police suspect it was accidental but Cassie suspects murder. She investigates with her friends. While investigating, she is also running her business and making plans with her fiance. However she feels he isn't invested in the wedding and rebuilding the mansion. Plenty of story lines to follow, clues to investigate and suspects to check out. An enjoyable mystery.

Great read with the continuing story of Cassie and Daniel as well as Grams, Lexi and Brent. Planning your own funeral is not pleasant but something that needs to be discussed, that’s Gram’s wishes. While visiting the funeral home Cassie has to use the bathroom but as usual she can’t help but snoop. What she finds is a murder victim and of course she wants to be involved to help solve the case. With all that going on, the renovations at Cassie and Daniels house and their upcoming wedding cause tension and strife. Gram gets her funeral details mapped out and the engaged couple find the killer and learn to talk over their problems. Couldn’t put it down can’t wait for the next book.

This is such a well-written series, involving Cassie and Daniel who are engaged to be married. As he reluctantly assists her in identifying murderers, they learn more about themselves and their budding relationship. The means of murder was not typical of other cozy mysteries, and I enjoyed Wendy's skill at keeping the reader intrigued, while including fallible characters trying to be better.
I recommend this series to anyone who likes a good cozy mystery.

Once again Cassie and Daniel find themselves embroiled in a mystery, as well as in some relational "bumps in the road." Their not-so-perfect relationship in a charming, but not perfect either, small-town setting, is encouragingly believable, highlighting that good relationships take work, experience ups and downs and are beautifully enhanced by the grace of God. The story focuses on a realistic mystery, complete with surprises and twists, and also gently reminds us to notice the goodness of God and His healing work in the lives of those who turn to Him.

This story keeps you guessing on what’s next and who’s involved!
I’m so glad God is kept in the story, with great advice!
I cannot wait to read and see what’s next in the future!
All of the characters are so relatable, I really enjoy that and just getting lost in a story is such a joy in life.
Thank you for sharing your talent, Wendy, it is such fun to read your stories!!!!

Cassie Bridgestone is at again. She discovers a dead body at a funeral home, which might not seem unusual. But prior arrangements had not been made for the casket's occupant. Not satisfied with conclusions drawn by a domineering new lawman in town, Cassie noses around. She snags fiancé Daniel into a bazaar search for what really happened and must deal with personal relationship issues along the way. A fun cozy that I recommend. (I received an ARC, comments are my own.)

A quirky mystery that got better and better the more I read. So much fun to read and great characters. This is a good story to read in the fall, since part of the story happens in a funeral home. Wendy Heuvel is a new to me author and I’m glad I got a chance to read this story. I received a copy of this book but all opinions are my own.

A fun read!

I love Wendy Heuvel’s cozy mysteries. She creates relatable characters and weaves God moments throughout the stories in realistic ways. The main character even has a big floofy cat for those cat lovers out there. Now she just has to come up with a tiny scrappy dog for us dog lovers. 🤣
