She’s a spy. He’s an alien cyborg who doesn’t like humans . . . What could go wrong?
Hacker extraordinaire Raven lives in the shadows, making her living by rooting out secrets of the rich and corrupt. It’s a good setup, until her boss reassigns her to spy on the Lathar. All she’s got to do is break into their super-secure system and find out what they’re keeping from humanity.
She’s going to have to go undercover working in the Latharian Mate Program to do it. There’s just one problem. The very dangerous, and very sexy Risyn B'Kaar. He doesn’t like humans, and he’s her new boss . . .
War Commander Risyn B’Kaar doesn’t want to be on Earth, and doesn’t want to be part of the mate program.
But he has his orders. At least all he has to do is set the draanthing thing up, then he can leave. He certainly doesn’t want a human mate of his own. No way, no how . . .
But when the program matches him with Raven, he can’t let her go. Not even when she betrays him. There’s a greater betrayal at work though, one that might take his beautiful little mate from him.
Can he save her from the forces that conspire against them, before it’s too late?
Mina Carter is a New York Times & USA Today bestselling author of romance in many genres. She lives in the UK with her husband, daughter, a puppy who pays no attention to her whatsoever, and a bossy cat.
There is so much going on with this book and each new page embroils me deeper in the mystery. There are new characters to love in this book, including a cyber jockey full of sass and vinegar, and old favorites to adore from afar, well except for the Lord of the B’kar, we get to know him so much better during the course of the story. There’s old bad guys, new bad guys, revealed bad guys, unexpected friends, hidden alliances, and a hint of so much more to come. I can’t wait! Every new book brings something unexpected, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the Lathar.
Secrets and twists abound. I was a bit sad reading this as I didn’t like the hurt Raven’s deception would cause further on. Emotions are emotions no matter the race or species and Raven was playing with Risyn’s, with no thought to the consequences for him in the future. Raven states to Murphy/Buchanan that Risyn is more machine than man but I found her the cold and clinical one at times. Never really warmed to her. Funny how she was all blasé about her future but when she was found out and what she was possibly facing, she wasn’t all that brave. BUT, oh my goodness, the tension, the twists and the background teasers just made this so good. Cannot wait for the next story. This is my honest review of this book.
Raven is a hacker, one of the best, she is NOT a spy. But that's precisely what the President, formerly known as Nomad Agent Buchanan, wants her to do. The Lathar seem friendly enough and he trusts that won't harm Earth but he wants that verified!
Risyn is B'Kaar - kind of a cross between a warrior and a Borg. He's now responsible for the new programme to match Lathar with Earth females. He's been having "visions" of someone in his feeds and just when he thinks he's tracked this hacker, he finds out that she appears to be a member of the Earth Programming team.
Raven has made a life for herself after the tragedy that led her to Professor H. I really loved the way she made her family, even when it became known the part her son had played in Raven's injuries. Raven does have a code of conduct for herself and she really was tied in knots at spying on the Lathar but the President really does know where all the skeletons are buried! Risyn really is all warrior. This is no cyber geek! He's torn between his duty and wanting a mate and thinking he may never be accepted by a future mate. But the bigger the warrior the faster they fall it would seem!
There are lots of little sub-plots that link all the books together and romance/action are definitely balanced well. Another worthy addition to the series!
This was such an incredible read with twists and turns and so many unanswered questions. Raven is the best of the best at what she does. Hacking. When the president of earth's people forces her to do a project that puts her in direct contact with the Lather she is pushed to her limits . Risyn is B'Kaar a formidable warrior and cyborg. Who is the best of the best of who and what he is. He is the head of the matching program between earth's females and the Lathers.
These two characters weave in and out of data streams chasing each other, Raven searching for evidence for the President of the Lather's deceptions while still performing her task as a researcher, decoding DNA to find matches to the Lather. All the while Risyn is searching for her, someone who is almost as good as he is, someone who alone in itself has bewitched him.
Raven and Risyn find themselves dream walking/ sharing. This is such a beautiful intense romantic, passionate and unbelievable emotion that Raven believes iwas just a dream. Risyn on the other hand knows differently and what this truly implies.
When Raven realizes that she will not find the evidence she needs for the President she taps into the matching program data files. In order for her to get to the space station and data ports, she knows there is only one person that can get her there........ Risyn B''Kaar.
Mina has such a brilliant way with words, and this story just breaks your heart with all the emotional and physical trauma that Raven lived through and survived.
I am so looking forward to the next book Mina

Raven was one of a kind with skills unknown to almost everyone that made her the ideal subject to infiltrate and get what was needed to know about the Lathars. But still Raven was vulnerable, physically, and emotionally, and Risyn B'Kaar was breaking through the barriers that, with her special knowledge, she had erected over time. Interesting and intriguing the Raven and Risyn’s situation. I liked the complex and different nature of what was happening to Raven and how this was handled throughout the plot. A lot of tension and passion between the protagonists that were struggling with their feelings and emotions for much of the story. I liked how quickly the plot developed, how the action and suspense were handled, and how mysterious Raven's condition was. It generated a lot of feeling in me. Another one that since he appeared in the stories, I have my eye on is the character of the president. I still don't know if he is one of the good guys or the bad guys with so many secrets around him and the mysterious hints about his past. It has me questioning his intentions and waiting to see what the author is going to do with it. I really like these Lathar stories where Terran women show a strength that makes them special opponents for the Lathars. Action, suspense, mystery, strong emotions, intrigue, romance, betrayal, and torrid passion. Voluntarily reviewed this copy that I enjoyed.
This has been an enjoyable series, but Pursued by the Alien Lord is my least favorite of the installments.
I am continuing with the Warriors of the Lathar series as well as recommending it to readers who enjoy sexy sci-fi adventure romance stories. Mina Carter did some unique world building and knows how to deliver stories with sexy, protective, alien heroes looking for human women to love.
Raven has been through the wringer of life. Orphaned in her teens, she's doing what she can with what she's got. What she's got is state of the art military implants that enable her to move and interact with data streams like most people walk. How did she get these? Courtesy of her adopted grandmother. But that's another story.
Raven is the best at what she does, and is tapped to dig deep into the B'Kaar who are Latharians with tech that she can't crack. So she goes that extra mile to fulfill her duties, and that's when things get interesting.
I adore this series and am always impressed and amazed that the author is able to keep me interested and the story intriguing. I'm stingy with my 5 star ratings, but this definitely earned it. As always the background story continues, which is getting more and more interesting, and then we have out romantic focus. Risyn isn't interested in humans, Raven isn't interested in aliens. But fate has something else in mind.
Fabulous world building, teasing at future storylines, and hot interactions between Risyn and Raven. Things get really intense and emotional but that is totally what keeps me involved. If you haven't read the previous books, do because while not necessary, I think it enhances everything.
I love a computer hacker novel and this did not disappoint. It was absolutely wonderful to read. In fact, I was so hooked that I couldn’t put it down and stayed up until 3am just to finish it. It was super exciting right from the start where the author demonstrated how badass Raven is with her computer hacking skills. I found myself cheering for her in the first 6 pages. She’s tough and can hack into anything. Which is why Earth’s president, Cameron Murphy has her hacking into the B’Karr system. Risyn is a super alpha war commander of the B’Karr and after a tough start between them, he starts to acknowledge his attraction to Raven. They have several tender moments and it was sweet how he courted her. Lots of action and cool computer stuff. There’s also interesting series overarching plot development. I can’t wait for the next book to read all about Cameron Murphy. The is the 16th book in this series and usually by now, I lose interest in a series or the overarching plot start to bug me. So far, I’m even more hooked as I keep reading it. Im glad to see the author is still writing new books as I’d be sad to see it end. I highly recommend this book and I can see me reading it again in the future.
Raven is a hacker. She has a special connection to the digital world. Data streams became her means of existing after a life altering accident that claimed the lives of her family. Raven is tasked with infiltrating the B'Kaar by President Murphy. Raven has no interest in aliens, unlike everyone else. But Murphy's suspicions don't go ignored and take Raven out into the real world to secure the needed information.
Risyn is the leader of the B'Kaar and in charge of the mating program. It's success or failure is on his plate. Risyn does not fail. The program must succeed.
Raven finds herself working as an analyst for the mating program. She was unable to hack the B'Kaar from a distance. She needs to get up close and personal. But this puts her working directly with Risyn and on his radar. When Raven still can't access the alien system she takes her deception to another level and secures a mate, but not just any plain warrior. Risyn. Raven has bitten off more than she can chew at this point.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book and am leaving a voluntary review.
Ms. Carter wrote, for me anyway, a different type of Latharian story this time. Raven wasn't all sweetness and light; not the usual female in these books. I beg to differ. Raven is a spy for President Murphy. Granted Raven had a very difficult life after tragically losing both her family and her physical body to a thoughtless driver, but her avatar body caused her to lack emotions. The Male character of this story, Commander Risyn, head of the B'Kar clan, is the real man (though Latharian). I was pleased to delve into this story, getting to know these two and all the other characters that showed up in this story and to learn about the Latharian's study of genetics, learning how to deal with humanity's women (their hope for future generations of Latharians), and even Emperor Daaynal's hope of a cross match for the mate he desires. As mentioned, emotions play such an important role in this story and both Raven and Risyn need to feel not only the physical but the emotional side to life. A plot of twists
Raven was sent by the president to find out more about the Latharian. There was something they were keeping from the humans. Playing the part of a data analyst, it was easy for her spy on them. Her injury made it easy. Having a “grandmother” that also worked with them didn’t hurt. Risyn B’Kaar had no time for all this. They should be able to add the women to the data base and find matches for all the Latharian and take them. WRONG. Dr. Haverington wasn’t having any of that. With her granddaughter on board to help with the algorithm this could be corrected. We learn how Raven got her adaptions to her body. It is an interesting story as well as sad. We see Risyn open up to mates and learns what is feels like to have a mate to cherish. The dream share is cool. There is a part that broke my heart. Raven opens up to Risyn about herself and her wishes if ever her body fails. The Latharian need to get a handle on these Purist. We are seeing more of them. President Murphy, we need to dig deeper into him. Something isn’t quite right.
Risyn doesn't think much of the humans but they are necessary for the continuation of the Lathar. Raven doesn't much care for the aliens but when she receives orders from her President she will put personal feelings and ego aside. What happens when dislike morphs into something else? In Pursued by the Alien Lord the latest in Mina Carter's Warriors of the Lathar we find out. I enjoyed getting to know Risyn better. He is arrogant but I still liked him. His arrogance was earned and I loved seeing him learn that humans are more than he believes. And Raven is used to being alone. She is different but she has learned to accept those differences. But when her ego leads her further t hff an she intended can she regain the list trust? I enjoyed finding out and thoroughly enjoyed seeing Eaven and Risyn learn that not emotions are bad. I am enjoying this series and am looking forward to where Ms. Carter will take us next.
Oh my! I went into this totally blind without reading any reviews and the world sucked me in! I have enjoyed some of Mina Carter's books in the past but I have not kept up with the Lathar series at all so I sort of dropped into this series 16-books in (yikes!) This one is definitely worth picking up though!
One thing I'll mention is that I felt like I couldn't put it down for the first 11 chapters but once things turned I wish it had been dragged out a little longer somehow, although with the way the plot was going, it was a necessary progression at this point I suppose.
I have not finished the book yet, but I would rate my enjoyment as worthy of 4.5/5 stars up to chapter 12.
I love this new installment in the Lathar Univers and their latest off shoot, the B'Kaar. Risyn is one with the dataverse and as War Commander over the B'Kaar on Earth, he is tasked with making the mate program work. Raven, a human hacker with no equal, has been set the task to get into their programs. When they are matched by the mating program they both learn a lot more than they expect, and then desire overrides programming and things take an unexpected turn. Now forces from both sides are causing glitches in the system and they must trust each other to fix the code. Another great one. If you llove intrigue and sexy romance, this is for you. I was provided with a copy of this book for my true and honest opinion.
I love this book because even though this is a romantic tale the sci-fi plays just as big a part and is suspenseful and true to the genre. Raven, hacker extraordinaire, has built a life for herself out of the flames of loss. Even though she may be on a not so legal side you can tell her heart is true. In previous books Risyn has been and is still a hard case. As head of the B’Kaar clan he is all business all the time. Oh, how the mighty fall when they meet their mate. But the underlying subplots and there are at least a couple had my mind racing with the possibilities while I enjoyed the sexy falling in love story. Great read.
I enjoyed this book, Mina’s writing style, the interesting and different characters as well as all the twists and turns she weaves into her stories mean that you easily become engrossed and more often than not on edge trying to guess where the story is going.
This one concentrates on Raven, a human asked by her boss to spy on the Lathar, as he's sure they have a secret agenda and Risyn B'Kaar, one of the Lathar commanders tasked with overseeing the mating program which finds Earth females to mate with the Latharian males. They are very different although both very strong-willed and stubborn and share explosive chemistry!
I abso-fuckin-lutely LOVE Raven & Risyn!!! I was a fan of Raven as soon as she was introduced in Cade's book. Especially due to the fact that the way she was described reminded me so much of the B'Kaar. So, I was looking forward to learning more about her background. She was a female version of Risyn, but obviously nowhere near the B'Kaar level. Risyn definitely met his match in Raven, and it was great to see the other side of him that most don't see. So many things have been revealed, so many secrets are being kept, and so many more questions remain. I cannot wait for the next book. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

AAAAAA I LOVE IT !!!!! a really quick and fun read where alien technology and the relationship of humans with other species were explored. there were some moments that i disliked from raven and risyn—but that's because his character is an alien and i'm human so my disagreement should be kinda understandable—thankfully, they both redeemed themselves by the end. i LOVE how risyn immediately went to b'kaar prime and had a k'elath merge with raven like, that whole moment was AMAZING. anyway, if y'all want some sinful toe-curling alien x human smut with fine buff hot alien men romancing the mc, this is the series to go. WOOOOO RAVEN N RISYN !!!!!!!!!!
rating: 3.5/5

I wish I could give this book ten stars! It is packed with intrigue and romance…the plot is outstanding! I consume Mina Carter’s books. She is a talented story teller and makes every book unique adventure as we learn more about the aliens who have come to Earth for brides. My favorite subspecies is the B’Kaar. They are integrated machine and alien host. It was fascinating…inventive beyond what I’ve come to expect from Carter. Raven and Risyn steam up the pages as you sit back and enjoy the story. Excellent!❤️❤️❤️
I have to admit, I get a kick out of frustrating the Hero. Especially when he is as arrogant as Risyn B'Kaar. Raven is most of the story. Her life and experiences make this a great read. She has abilities beyond most humans, but it comes at a terrible price. Unfortunately, the note is coming due fast. Risyn however, has it all. Lord Commander of the B'Kaar, power in the streams, in charge of the mating program. He has everything but the woman teasing him in the streams, his domain, something no inferior human can do. Right?
A fascinating addition to the series! The 16th book in the Warriors of the Lathar series gives us Risyn B'Kaar and Raven’s story. It had a very interesting storyline that draws you in and keeps you flipping the pages until the end. I loved how technology played a great role in their romance, but in the end it was his world that had a big impact on her. Suspense, danger and a delightful heat level made this a must read that doesn’t disappoint. I can’t wait for more of this addicting series!
Addictive and impossible to put down! The story itself fits in so well with the parts of the series that came before that you never feel like you left any time between book readings! This one is full-on intriguing and xenophobia is an underlying current that comes across in subtle ways. I was hoping that Raven would meet her match and, in this book, I’m glad that she did. I’m dying to know where her tech came from and the little bait at the end for the next book has me looking forward to that one too.
The Lathar Warrior stories are positively addicting! The Lathar characters are wonderful. I mean who wouldn't want strong, handsome, sexy, protective, intelligent males as mates? The women who mate with them equal them in strength of character and intelligence with quite a bit of sass thrown in. How else could a small human female go toe to toe with a seven foot linebacker? The storytelling is superb. President Murphy may have finally made a fatal mistake, but only time will tell. Love, love, love these books!
Raven is told to spy on the Lathar by her boss who thinks they are too good to be true and are hiding a secret agenda. Risyn B'Kaar , a ruthless war commander is tasked with overseeing the mate program between Earth females and the Latharian males. Explosive chemistry along with two highly stubborn individuals equals a highly entertaining page turner! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.
I love the world of the Lathar! This is the 16th book in the series Warriors of the Lathar by Mina Carter. This book drew me in immediately and I just sat and read until I finished it in one sitting. Thank goodness I’m a fast reader! It was awesome! I loved the relationship between the main characters and I enjoyed reading about the troubles they went through and how they overcame things. 5 stars!
Once again Ms. Carter has written a story that kept me intrigued and entertained from the beginning. The interactions between the Lathar and humans continue to be littered with both mutual need and political unease. Both main characters are intense and interesting. As usual, I am now waiting "patiently" for the next book. I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing
Risyn has been seeing Raven in his streams for quite some time. He is instantly drawn to her when he sees her in person but doesn't quite know what to make of her. Raven at the same time is trying to see if the Lathar really are what they say they are. Will her deception tear them apart?
Mina never disappoints. The chemistry between these two is truly amazing. I cannot wait to see where she takes us next.
I really like the Lathar men/race where as the humans seem to be very duplicitous. The Latharians do have some smaller groups like the Purists who are totally back- stabbers and murder is one way to be have their ranking elevated but honor is very important to them as a race. This book is the first one in the series that I believe had the human mate as untrustworthy towards her mate and the Lathar. It is an interesting twist!
This story hooked me from the start. The author brings in technology that is beyond amazing. The concepts and use were very unique. Then there is Raven. This female is beyond smart and what she is capable of is mind blowing. But one big, handsome and maybe annoying alien may just be her match. The story is filled with not just romance but danger in unexpected places.
