It's complicated: A thirty-year-old virgin gets more than he bargained for when his newfound magical power reveals he's the object of his male coworker's affections!
Adachi’s job transfer to Nagasaki hangs over his relationship with Kurosawa like a harbinger of doom!
But true to form, the pair reaffirm their feelings for each other and come to the decision that they can make it through anything, long distance included!
Will absence make Kurosawa’s and Adachi’s hearts grow still fonder? Is that even possible?!
Meanwhile, Adachi’s novelist friend Tsuge continues to nurse his feelings for part-time deliveryman and aspiring dancer Minato. Can Tsuge’s support get Minato through his big audition with his dream on the line?!
Cherry Magic continues to give me life! Adachi and Kurosawa are so precious, and I love that they communicate so openly especially now that the magic is gone and they're trying to do a long distance relationship.
Also curious about the family's reaction in the next volume!
They are taking their relationship so seriously, and I couldn't be happier! I'm so glad Adachi accepted the transfer, and I love how they are communicating through it.
One of my favorite parts of this story is that we finally get to see the 'cool' side of Adachi: the one Kurosawa fell for in the first place. I totally get it, I would fall for him too.
Tsuge and Minato have also really grown on me, and I found their development in this volume sweet.
This volume was so cute and sweet. I love that Adachi chose to pursue his dreams while also choosing Kurosawa. And Tsuge is so freakin cuuuuuute. Ah, this manga is everything.
There are now rings! The relationship is serious and they are planning a future together, but both have insecurities and society isn't necessarily going to accept their plans. It is, however, reassuring that they manage to talk to each other without the need for any wizardy. This volume is full of tender and domestic scenes counterbalanced with people around them noticing that they are wearing rings but jumping to the wrong conclusions.
The story of Tsuge and Minato is also developing. It is sweet that Tsuge leaves his comfort zone to help Minato thus allowing both himself and their relationship to grow.
The deed is done, the magic is gone, and the story is somehow even sweeter than ever. As Toyota says, the training wheels on the relationship have been taken off, but Adachi now has the inner strength to want to make things work and to trust that they will. Add in a beautiful moment where he witnesses two older women getting married (to each other) and this is just a big warm hug of a book. It has long surpassed its silly title.
These two are so cute together. Despite the magic being gone Kurosawa and Adachi have persisted in their relationship, and grown together for the better. I can’t wait to see what the future holds for these two. A wedding maybe or starting a family even?
I am honestly loving this series. I still wish the name of the series was something different I feel weird recommending this to people lol.
also on a side note I love the side couple too. alot of the time I feel like side couples are an after thought writing wise and I'm always so uninterested when they are in scenes but not for this. they do the side couple so well and you actually want to root for them too and see them more.
Still loving this series. Seeing Adechi learn to communicate without his wizard powers was so well done. So is seeing him grow more confident and all the successes with the opening of the new store. Their relationship is adorable. The secondary relationship had some great moments in this one too. Love the support for his dancing. Hoping there's some conversations coming between the two soon
I love their relationship so much, and I love the steps we tool in this volume. They were a little quick, but I’m so invested in them that I don’t care. I just want more cute scenes between them!
I feel like we really got a good look at Adachi in this volume, and the character growth he has gone through. He definitely took center stage in this volume, and I am all for it!
So incredibly wholesome…but now that they got their HEA, I do wonder how the rest of the series continues, and if it loses steam at some point?
Regardless, I absolutely need to know what’s going to happen with the side romance…Tsugeeeeee my novel writing king. She’s a genius for including a side romance that is even more slowburn than the main. Her mind!!!!
Who was going to tell me about the biting scene??????!!! And how on the planet earth could the anime adaptation have left out this vital information??!! Like, excuse me??
This volume really showcases the depth of feeling and true heart of the series as we follow our favorite couple—still in the process of becoming a couple. Together, apart, these guys are in it for keeps!
Same as the previous reviews: everything written here is on the assumption that you, the reader that has decided "this will be the one review deciding if I pick this up" amongst... literally any other one you could have chosen, either 1) have read the previous volumes, or 2) is alright with getting spoiled on them.
So yes... click away if you would rather not be spoiled. Or are having second thoughts about choosing a review that is... practically just a collection of random thoughts.
...aRE THOSE I SEE ON THE COVER?!?
There's only 4 chapters in this volume (plus the Tsuge extra) but oh my GOSH so much went down in them. Adachi comes to terms with and ahhh it is sweet how both he and Kurosawa communicate and acknowledge the changes they need to make now that . But HAHAHA I love how the author hasn't gotten rid of the wall of text that is Kurosawa's thoughts, because yes it is actually comedy gold how much that man filters his thoughts before he speaks XD But yes, communication is beautiful! And oh my gosh . And no, Adachi, .
Besides that, poor Adachi gets overworked :") And the two of them get a little lonely because of BUTT if it weren't for that we wouldn't be getting the . SPEAKING OF THAT CHAPTER: I actually smiled a little seeing the scene, and awww . Kinda feel bad for both their families though now that I realise quite some time has passed since the two started dating and they haven't introduced their partner to their family T-T I MEAN poor Adachi's mum had to guess at his engagement because she saw his ring in that picture of his store opening, but yes it is so sweet that he wears his ring even during work, same as Kurosawa.
And then for Tsuge: nOOO THE MISUNDERSTANDINGS THAT WILL CROP UP NOW, YOU BIG DUMMY WHYYYY DID YOU PHRASE IT LIKE THAT T-T (but thank you for stepping up and making sure Minato gets his chance during the audition instead of giving up)
That's all from me, pretty much.
...nEVER MIND forgot the bonus manga exists ;-; I would CRY and beg Kurosawa to stop if he sang every damn love song he composed for Adachi if they are anywhere near the date song one O-O (even if it is cool af that he is playing an electric guitar alongside his immaculate singing) I am eternally traumatised from that, I'm sorry, it is hilarious to the point I desire bleach. That, and I love the author's note at the end of the manga: I am definitely sticking around, because it is definitely going to be interesting to see how Adachi's and Kurosawa's relationship develops now that their training wheels are gone.
*fans herself* some of the scenes of this volume raised the temperature! Kurosawa is so funny and now that Adachi is completely playing into it, they are just the sweetest and so hecking funny. I love that we get to see the after of when they come together. God, I love this series!
This volume opens up where the other left off, and with Adachi finding out that once you lose your virginity, you also lose your magical powers. So Adachi is no longer a mind reader, but at least we still have Tsuge for those shenanigans.
Adachi decides to accept the transfer. He likes the idea of building something up from scratch. He also recognizes his new positive attitude is thanks to Kurosawa, and he probably wouldn’t be getting this offer, or accepting it, if it wasn’t for him.
Kurosawa asks Adachi if he wants to move in together when he gets back from Nagasaki. He tells him how he wants to spend every minute of every day with him now and forever, and Adachi agrees. Then Adachi makes an offhand comment about that seeming a lot like a proposal, which throws Kurosawa into a panic, as he had imagined a proposal already, and this wasn’t how he'd envisioned it. The next thing we know he’s getting out a ring set, so just like that, they’re engaged. We also find out Kurosawa has other things he’s bought for them hidden in his apartment.
Adachi goes to Nagasaki to open a new store. It’s a lot of work, but he seems to be thriving.
Minato reads one of the romance novels Tsuge wrote. He doesn’t seem to realize the character he likes in the book is modeled after him. Tsuge encourages Minato in his dancing career, as we watch Minato struggle with wondering if he should just give up. At a crucial moment for Minato, he almost does just that when his ride breaks down right before a major audition, but Tsuge sweeps in and saves the day, getting him there just in time. Afterward, when he makes the finals, Minato reflects on all the encouragement and advice Tsuge has given him, which prompts him to ask Tsuge why he is so nice to him. It ends with Tsuge responding that he has an ulterior motive.

➽ Volume 7 has a shocking revelation in store for us! It seems like Adachi has lost his mind reading powers after sleeping with Kurosawa. I was surprised it happened this early in the story! The author's note said that Yuu Toyota was originally planning to end the story at this point, but decided to keep going. Adachi and Kurosawa still have to navigate their relationship, this time without the help of any magic powers. I liked how the story emphasized that the mind reading might have helped them get together, but wasn't what made them fall for each other. The feelings blossomed before Adachi even turned 30 and now he's ready to navigate his relationship with Kurosawa by communicating honestly.
➽ It's tough that they're doing long-distance now, but are trying to make the most of it. Adachi still feels lost, but is trying his best to support the new store opening. Feeling a bit like an imposter is so relatable, though he always underestimates his own calm and kind nature. The romance is moving a bit fast, though it's not surprising given how intense Kurosawa has always been. I'm definitely looking forward to the next volumes! We still have Tsuge's love story and now it seems like Adachi's family will also get to know his new boyfriend!
