Rcvd an advanced reader copy from BookSirens for giving my two cents. We met the big bad wolf Gordon in thr previous book when he used forbidden blood shadows on James and trying to recruit Kay. Now that James is safe from Gordon's claws, Zach is determined to find Emma, Gordon's daughter and see if she is involved. Emma has fought her way thru hell and back. After the death of her mother, she left school to start over and she has a successful bakery. One day a handsome stranger comes and and she swears he looks like her childhood bff Zach but it can't be. When Zach sees Emma he can't believe her shadows...or lack there of. They are so disjointed. He lies about who he is just to find out things. After spending time with her his shadows recognize hers as his soul mate. After talking with her he tells her the truth about everything. Emma decides to return to Wales to see if Elizabeth can help her with her shadows and help stop her father. Can Emma's shadows be fixed and will her father use her again for his devious plans?

Book two and this time it is Emma and Zach’s story. It’s a fantastic continuation of the paranormal romance as once again we dive into this incredible world. Well paced and action packed, filled with turmoil, betrayal, second chances, passion and let’s not forget the twists and turns and surprises along the way, once started I could not put this down. It’s a great adventure and i look forward to book three!

Following the events in Shadow Guardians, the story moves forward thru Zach’s POV. Book #2 in the Blood Shadows trilogy, these books are best read in order to understand the world of shadows created by the author and the central theme of an antagonist fighting to become the ruler of the world.

I am fascinated by this order of ‘number three’ that is a universally accepted fact. Irrespective of the culture or religion, ‘number 3’ holds a special significance. Here, we have a triad of guardians, Kay, James, and Zach each of them having been trained in the arts of fighting with some cool accessories, Kay with her knife, Zach with his shadow sword, and James with his shuriken. Book 1 had Kay along with Ethan as the primary focus whereas, in Shadow Seer, Zach and Emma become the central characters. And all the more interesting that the author has woven the story of their identities thru the abilities of their partners. Like Ethan in book 1, here Emma with her touch seer gift helps Zach to fight for his friends and family.

Zach and Emma have been childhood friends and therefore the soul connection felt genuine and gripping seeing that Emma has been hiding for so many years and they have not been in touch. Zach has a lot of growing up to do thru his journey of acceptance and forgiveness as he discovers that loving is not about torturing oneself by controlling one’s emotions, it is also about sacrifices and trusting your loved ones to be right beside you thru thick and thin. There is also the elder triad, Elizabeth, Kay’s grandmother, Brynn and David guiding the young thru their tribulations as Zach deals with the horrifying trauma of James’ actions. The writing is smooth, and the colors used to describe the shadows help the reader to imagine them in their minds and though there is an absence of an all-out action sequence in this, there is a surge in the intensity factor as the ticking time bomb draws closer.

The story progresses further with Gordon’s POV giving the readers an idea of the evil plans that are in store and I believe this will lead to a thrilling climax in the third and final book with James taking center stage and I can’t wait to grab my hands on that one.

Many thanks to Book Sirens and the author for a chance to read and review this book. All opinions are expressed voluntarily.

Independent reviewer for Book Sirens, I was gifted my copy of this book.

This is book 2 in the Blood Shadows trilogy, and you really must: MUST read book one, Shadow Guardian bfore you read this. That book sets the scene and tone for this book. And cos, you know, I said so!

Zach needs to trust Emma, but given who her father is, he's not sure he can. But his Shadows? They know. They know that Emma can be trusted. They know that Emma is Zach's. He just needs to get with their programme, which is difficult, since he can see her Shadows, and how damaged they are. Emma can't see they Shadows, but she knows hers are broken. She wants nothing to do with her father. But Zach and the others need her help. She's just not sure she has the skills they need.

What I'm especially enjoying about these books is this: I cannot see where it's going! I really can't see how they are gonna get out of this mess that Gordon has created, without some major damage to both the Shadow Weavers and the norms of this world. It's frustrating, in the best way!

Zach, bless him, he was hurt bad by James' betrayal in the first book and he takes a lot of it out on Emma in the beginning. But once he sees Emma, really SEES her, he can see he is hurting her too. And then what does he do?? Breaks her freaking heart by hurting her some more! Oh he does come good, in the best way, he really does, but he still hurt Emma.

Emma is hurting for a whole other reason. He father is hell bent on world domination, and she wants nothing to do with him, but it might be the only way they can stop him. While there, Emma discovers some truths, some SPOILERS that will not be discussed!

I loved the description of the colours of Zach and Emma's Shadows. They make you look at the shadow on the wall behind the lamp, at the shadow the cat makes when she walks past the sun, and think. It makes you see if you can see the colours in those shadows.

We get a bit of Gordon here, too. He is the one bent on world domination and his plan is coming together. Until Emma and Zach mess that up, but he can still make it work. (I love hearing from the bad guy!)

James, oh James! He is in a world of hurt, he really is. He knows that he was used by Gordon, he knows that he caused a good deal of pain to those he loves, but he can't see his way out this mess. Until Riley turns up, and then James goes and does something incredibly stoopid and now we need his story, like yesterday!!

So, yeah, loved it, as much as book one!

Book 2 was AMAZING!

I really enjoyed reading book one in the Blood Shadows series, so I was excited to see Book 2 come out. Shadow Seer is Zach’s story. After everything that happened in the first book, Zach wishes that he could just continue what he’s been doing the last several years – trying to be the youngest person on the Order Council, but he knows he cant since they must be corrupt. He’s also struggling with what happened to Kay and James, but he has to try do his part to see if he can find Emma, his old friend from his youth who happens to be the daughter of the man who is behind all the blood shadows. He must find her and see if she is part of his sick organization or if she can help them.

He finally tracks her down to a bakery in Dorset. Initially, he believes that she is completely changed from what he remembers when he sees her shadows all crazy-like (regardless that his shadows recognize her as his other half), but slowly over time realizes just how wrong he is – especially after they realize just what a crazy person her father is and what he did to her. When she agrees to help them infiltrate her fathers house and organization, this is huge, but she is going into seriously dangerous territory – especially with her shadows not working right.

I absolutely loved this book and the story is SOOOO intriguing and different than other romantasy’s out there. Loved it

Shadow Seer is the second release from the Blood Shadow Trilogy and Jennie has done one fantastic job with this release. It is well-written, easy to read, and a fast-paced adventure story. I love what she brought to the series and how the characters evolved from the beginning to the end.

Emma has learned to survive on her own and make a living without the Order. Her past has broken her emotionally and physically. Meeting up with an old best friend has changed a few things for her.

Zach will do anything to protect Emma. Hiding the truth seems like an option, but actions have shown him that not everyone is there to betray him.

Trust is the key to overcoming the danger.

The story of Emma and Zach has been an exciting adventure and one to remember.

I would recommend Shadow Seer to the Adult Paranormal Romance readers out there.

I can’t wait for the third release.

A MUST-READ

Wow... This second book in the Blood Shadows Series is so far my favorite. The first book was great, but this second book just has a little more mystery to it than the first book.

This book follows Zack and Emma mostly. Zack and Emma used to be friends but lost contact, but because of circumstances, Zack needs to find Emma.
Emma hasn't had it easy and a lot of mystery is surrounding her and I must say, I was not disappointed at all.
Zack is struggling with his feelings - toward what happened in the first book, but also in regards to Emma. In the end, he finds his way.

I won't spoil anything, but this book has a lot of new information, mystery, and action. It also has a lot of love and compassion in it.

I can definitely recommend reading it - and I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

HOLY COW!!!! Okay so this was an AMAZING continuation and it’s own story wrapped in one book. I read sequels and sometimes they surprise me because nothing is truly better than the original; perhaps it’s equally as Great as the original but better is hard to come bye. This part two adventure what’s so Awesome it might just be better than the first. There are so many twist and turns and unknowns throughout the entirety of the book there is never a dull moment! I’m so excited I was able to be an ARC reader and will now be waiting ever so impatiently for book 3. This has been a humbling adventure thus far..especially with both stories being a fighter and never giving up through life circumstances no matter how little or big is always achievable.

While I didn't enjoy this book as much as the first, perhaps because the concept wasn't as new to me, I still found it intriguing and I'm looking forward to finding out what happens. The action was a little less in this book as it was more focused on discovering what happened to her shadows, but I did a lot to the overall story. I enjoyed seeing how Zach opened up with Emma and I loved her strength. If you love strong female characters and brody male characters with a twist of the paranormal then I think you will enjoy this book.

This story takes you deeper into the realm of shadow magic as you meet a shadow seer who has cut herself off from the world of Druv-id because she thinks she is broke little does she know that she is about to be dragged back into the world that broke her and faces her Demons head on.

You also get to see a character from the first story grow into themselves as he navigates the world without one of his best friends, who has been led down a path that involves blood sacrifice.

The book was very nice. I enjoyed reading more about the characters. I will say this one was less slow than the first and I greatly appreciated it while I am okay with some books being slow and enjoyed the first I definitely like this one being a bit faster. I can't wait to read more by this author and look forward to seeing of they write more in the world after the sequel to this book. Received as an ARC, I am leaving my honest review. Wow, is this story amazing. Hold onto the rollercoaster ride of heartache, emotional turmoil, with glimpses of hope for the future as Emma tries to become who she was meant to be. Fear driven but strong, she faces a journey of such intensity you be captivated from the first page. There are a lot of twists that will keep you guessing until the epic ending, but the ending will have you wanting to know more

I think that this is a good addition to this series. This book follows the first one well. Zack and Emma were perfect for each other, it just took a bit to get there. Twists and turns to be had, as well a wonderful love story. I Loved It!!! No Spoilers!

SHADOW SEER is the second book in the Blood Shadows trilogy and although it is sort of standalone - in that it is Zach and Emma's story - it is better to read in sequence so you get the big picture. As for Zach and Emma, they were childhood friends who were separated by sad circumstances. Zach sets out to find her, not knowing what he will find. Is Emma innocent or is she involved with her father's wrongdoings?

Oh, man. She's only gone and done it again! Jennie Lynn Roberts is an outstanding author, in my humble opinion. I haven't read a bad book of hers yet and doubt I ever will. Although not fantasy per se, this is an amazing story. It changes the way you look at shadows, that's for sure. They sound so beautiful, I wish I could see them for myself!

There is so much intrigue here. So many machinations, people being played like puppets, and others fighting the good fight. It is intricate, leading you along through a maze of words as you try to work out what the final objective is.

Zach and Emma are just as perfect together as Kay and Ethan are. Zach acts like a first-class jerk at one point though, and I was glad Emma was so strong. She stood by her convictions, even though she wanted Zach at her side, and he had faltered. With the others by her side, I think Emma is going to grow into a force to be reckoned with, and I can't wait to see her develop in James' story. (Or, at least, I hope!)

And speaking of James, he's gone from a character I didn't much like, to one who is breaking my heart as he tries to the do right thing. Read these two books and you'll see what I mean.

No mid-trilogy slump for this series, oh no. Instead, it's a nail-biting, gripping story that will keep you turning the pages and definitely leave you wanting more. HIGHLY recommended by me.
