The government can’t be trusted—and three men with critical information have one chance to prevent catastrophe...
Jason and his brother, David, narrowly escaped the horrors of Atlanta’s zombie apocalypse. Instead of running away from the city, they connected with their team leader, Spencer. They then headed toward a secure top-secret government facility to try and uncover the origin of the zombie virus.
What they discover is far more disturbing than anticipated; the source of infection is a two-thousand-year-old embalmed corpse with supernatural forces. Whoever guarded this dangerous biological weapon is now displaced…or dead.
The terror unfolds as three soldiers struggle to prevent the government from using this weapon to trigger another Atlanta-scale infection. If they can’t save society—they hope to at least escape with their lives.
This is a continuation of Book One: Atlanta: Zombie Queen.
After serving for thirteen years in the U.S. Army — including three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan — Matthew Sleadd is hanging up his uniform to pursue a writing career. Like millions of people around the globe—especially those who have witnessed war firsthand — he battles daily mental health. Writing is a therapeutic way to creatively transfer his internal struggles onto paper. His genres include Urban Fantasy and Dystopian Science Fiction — and while none of his stories or events are based on real people — there are often elements of hidden truth in his writing.
Mathew lives in Columbus, Georgia, with his wife. He’s a devoted father to an 18-year-old son and a 6-year-old daughter. He and his family are big Disney fans and love hopping over to Florida to spend time with the famous mouse.
This story picked up where the first book ended. After the US government nuked Atlanta to mitigate the zombie population, our trio is on the run from the same government. They begin at a relative's compound, contact their old commander, and travel on a mission to a secret military base where the horrors only get worse. They discover the possible origins to the zombie problem, as well as some transformations the trio themselves are going through. A great follow up to the first book, which was a pretty fast read for me. Great characters as well as a good flow to the story. I liked it and look forward to the follow up to this.
