Donovan Brown has always relied on his instincts in the streets, but will trusting those instincts in love lead him down a path of regret or redemption?
As the leader of the 713 Boyz, better known as The Wolves, Donovan relied on his intuition to build one of the most ruthless and feared organizations in the criminal underworld of Houston. When a heist goes wrong, he is forced to rethink his life and finds comfort in meeting an alluring woman whose charisma and sensuality ignites a fire between them that neither can extinguish. As their chemistry grows, a shadowy figure from his past comes back with an opportunity of a lifetime, creating tension in his crew and forcing Donovan to choose between allegiance to The Wolves and true love. With the pressure mounting in his relationship and his crew being torn apart from within, will he find the strength to leave the game behind for the only love he’s ever known, or will his loyalty to the streets lead him down a path of destruction and ruin?

Norian Love is definitely in my top 5 of favorite authors and there is a reason he is known on social media as the Plot Twist King. Donovan: A MPS novella was a great read and definitely gave more depth to the characters from the Money, Power, and Sex series. I've always been on #teamDonovan, however, this book made me like Nichelle better than I did in book 1. I thought she was shallow and weak in book 1 but this book showed a different kinder and more loyal side of her and I loved it. I loved the chemistry and the relationship between her and Donovan and I also loved the brotherly love and support dynamics between Donovan and his best friend Rico. The twist at the end though? Amazing! Now I've gotta read MPS again so that things will click even more. Check out this great story, you'll be glad you did!
I knew what was coming and it still broke my heart. But when I tell you I absolutely can’t stand Nichelle cause like what the heck bro. Anyway clearly Norian is one hell of a writer cause I promised myself I wouldn’t let this character in my heart and yet here we are. Every villain has a story though and a man like Donovan had to have one full of pain. This was an incredible story, it was funny, it was emotional and it was well written. I still team Lucas.
Our first introduction to Donovan is in Money, Power, & Sex. Although we are aware of him serving time, this novella is devoted to the man behind the wrath. I loved getting to know Donovan, before the prison complex and life crushed him. He is the complete opposite of who he becomes later in the series, understandably so. The adult scenes were exactly what I was looking for, but the character building and evolution is what I stayed for. I am proud of my spirit of discernment. I didn't trust Nichelle in Money, Sex, & Power, and I didn't trust her in this book, either. I'm unsure if this is discernment or consistency, but I feel how I feel.
DONOVAN is an excellent, super steamy prequel to MONEY POWER AND SEX: A LOVE STORY. (I personally would recommend reading this one first, even though it's the newer release)
Somehow the "bad boys" are always the ones who deliver the most mind-bending, speech-slurring lovin' that will rock your soul and have you crying while speaking in tongues! This book definitely delivered in that area. It had me 3 seconds from scrolling through the "Toxic MoFo" section of my phone because I was all hot and bothered lol... I was also quite intrigued by that District Attorney. So I definitely can't wait to read whatever Norian comes up with next that has her involved.
I'm going back now to read MPS: A LOVE STORY to prep for the actual sequel that is supposed to drop soon!
This is Donovan and Nichelles story , their relationship, who they were prior to book 1. Good background story, but nosey me wish it was a follow up from book 1. Waiting to see what happens to the couple after the explosion from book 1, will we get their follow up story? Now you don’t need to read book 1 to enjoy their story
The story kept me on my toes from the first page. It was repetitive a few times, but overall I liked the gist of the tale. I did not like the abrupt ending. The next excerpt does not pick up where the first book left Donovan. 3.5 Stars.
Felt like this should’ve been read before the first book because it gives you insight on Donovan and then it leads into Book 1. It was hard to read because it didn’t pick up from anywhere.
It's no secret that I'm in love with this series. Norian has created a rich world with characters you can feel and this latest installment does not disappoint! Each time I think I know where he's going with this series I'm thrown for a loop and I hate how much I LOVE it. I had to re read Money, Power & Sex to get the full effect of this book and let me say the devil is all in the details! Norian took me from liking Nichelle to hating her to liking her again.
a part of me always wanted Nichelle to end up with Donovan, I like Lucas but Three's something about a bad boy that, while you know it won't end well you hope they can change their ways. This book had all the innocence of a Teenage Love affair- if that love affair was on 50 cent's Power. overall Donovan: A Money, Power & Sex Novella was everything I wanted and then some from this couple. The end of the book picked up and just didn't let itself down.
But with Mr. Love sometimes the story isn't even the twist. There was a commanding performance by a new character that left me wanting more of her and true to form She's getting her own book. such a subtle detail but you know with this powerhouse writer we're in for something unexpected. If you're sleeping on this Author I truly feel sorry for you because one day when this is on HBO Max or Stars or wherever it's bound to end up, you're gonna realize you missing magic being made. 10 stars!
