After finding and spending a scorched fifty-dollar bill, Chip is arrested by the Secret Service and charged with violating the Patriot Act. Unfortunately, when an anonymous benefactor posts his five million dollar bail, there are strings attached. Chip and his coworkers must find his benefactor’s missing son and uncover enough evidence to keep Chip from being sent to Guantanamo Bay for the rest of his life.

About the author

I was born in Miami, Florida and earned a bachelor’s degree from Florida International University and a master’s degree from Pepperdine University. I’ve been writing for more than thirty years, was a finalist in the first annual Poisoned Pen Mystery Writing Contest, a non-rhyming poetry winner in the Writer’s Digest annual writing competition for two consecutive years, co-author of a main-stage production at my local community theatre, the author of the Chip Hale mystery series, numerous short stories, a standalone novel, and my time travel historical fiction novel that was a finalist in the Amity Literary Prize will be published either later this year or early next year.

Before embarking on my writing career, I spent twenty years as a search and rescue pilot in the United States Navy and am proud to say there are nine souls here today because I was there then. I now live in the Pacific Northwest with my wife, Cora, and her long-hair cat, Grace. We enjoy going out to dinner and the theater and sitting on the back deck with a glass of wine or wee dram watching the sunset. I volunteer building stage sets for the community theatre, and spend my off time playing golf, swimming, biking, reading, and doing video research. Life is good.
