This is a cute story about Sadie agreeing to giving her best friend's grumpy brother, Parker, a "fake" second chance, but only because he's hiring her to be his fake girlfriend after being stood up by him 2 X's over. It's a little angsty, and there's some pining with a little bit of grovel. If you like fake relationship or bestfriend's brother tropes, this book is for you. Although, IMO Parker is not a grump at all in this book so I was a little disappointed.

hypocrite

The book was going really well, as a matter of fact I read my first book and just continued for 3 more. So here I am on my 4th book and the heroine becomes a hypocrite and a jerk. She has the guts to get very angry with the hero for not telling her that he has money. She considers not telling her a lie. She also wouldn’t acknowledge the heroes explanation she already had her mind made up. Yet where did she get her information from? Someone who emotionally abused her and is now threatening her. Yet she believes everything he has to say? So just who is the LIAR ? The hero falls all over himself apologizing and taking the blame. At no point does she even consider herself in the wrong when she was lying after being threatened, others saw part of the problem texts and could see how upset she would become every time she got another one. Everyone was constantly asking her if she was OK and every time she answered I’m fine. Completely turned me off heroine, made my opinion of her character plummet and I wanted to shake her because she was “Do what I say, not what I &do” and had the gall to hold everyone else to a higher standard than she held herself.

Sadie had a terrible experience with her last boyfriend. She was finally able to be string enough to walk away a year ago. She has had feelings for her best friend Jane’s brother but he is just a jerk to her. Then out if the blue asks her out but ends up standing her up not once but twice with no explanation So when he calls her to be his fake girlfriend to get investors for his business she doesn’t say yes till he says he’ll take classes in her business she wants to start and pay her. Of course they get closer then her past comes back to mess with her present. He has secrets in his that effects him also. I received a arc copy for a honest review.

This is a best friends older brother fake relationship romance story.

Sadie is attracted to her best friends older brother Parker, but he has always been a jerk to her and has blown off her advances in the past. However, out of the blue he asks her to be his fake girlfriend to help win over investors in his business. Faking is easy for Sadie as she already has feelings, but when their relationship starts to seem more real than fake what will they do, especially when Sadie's past and some secrets start coming back to haunt them.

I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.

Grumpy Fake is an emotional story that captures the reader. Reading from both Parker Paxton and Sadie Smith’s perspectives encompasses a well-rounded storyline that describes the situation as well as the characters emotions and thoughts. I was fine with the circumstances until Sadie continuously interacts with her ex, that’s when I had enough and wanted to dive into the story and resolve the issue myself. That, defines a good story. To coerce the readers emotion shows an investment into the characters well-being. My copy needed some edits but it did not distract from the story’s purpose. Well done to the author for a lively read.

Parker and Sadie have been keeping secrets ones that got in the way of their true feelings for each other. Parker wants Sadie in his life but every time he makes a play life gets in the way. Sadie has self-esteem issues thanks to her ex that repeatedly tore her down. She finally ended the relationship, but the self-esteem and doubt remained. Will these two put aside the issues of their past for a chance at a happily ever after together? This story kept me glued to the drama surrounding Parker and Sadie!

I really like that we get so much packed into this story. Now that Parker has stood Sadie up even though he really likes her, he finds out that he needs her. I like how they are able to work together to solve his problem with expanding his business. I like how things overlap and give us more suspense and mystery inside their relationship. I like how they each protect the other. I like that we get to revisit prior characters. This is a good solid story.

Great reading! This is Sadie’s and Parker’s love story. Both characters are strong and determined. Both Sadie and Parker have trust issues from previous experiences that stand in their way to obtaining love and happiness in their lives. But no matter how much they willingly jeopardize their chances at love, the heart wants what it wants. Together they overcome it all. Lots of emotions involved good and bad, manipulations, deceit and lies makes this story a captivating reading.

There was not one minute of this story that I did not love I was completely enraptured from the first page to the last.

If you're looking for a sweet read to pass the day, not just this book but this entire series, so far, does not disappoint. I highly recommend giving it a read!.
