‘Tis the season for surprise heats, fake boyfriends, and landing on the naughty list…
Dan
It was looking like I might have the worst Christmas ever. I tanked a presentation at work that could cost my job, I drove my car into a snow bank on the way home for the holidays, and then my heat started while I was trapped in the mountains. The only glimmer of hope came from the tip I got to call an Emergency Support Alpha from Bangers & Mash. And wow, Teddy! How could I not catch feelings?
I’ve never had a stranger take my heat. Can I really do it…and then face my family afterwards?
Teddy
I hated Christmas. Always had. Christmas is for families, and all I had was a famous brother who ignored me. So taking an ESA call to help an omega in distress sounded perfect. And there was something about that particular omega that I liked…a lot. But giving Dan a ride to his parents’ house ended up with me pretending to be his boyfriend. It all got out of hand before either of us could put the brakes on.
How am I supposed to make like I’m Mr. Christmas…while falling hard for the very last omega I should be giving my heart to?
Christmas Heat is a stand-alone in the Bangers & Mash series, and contains a lot of playing—in the snow and not in the snow, a large, colorful family that gets the wrong idea, all they want for Christmas and then some, and plenty of ho, ho, ho!
However, PLEASE NOTE – No omegas are impregnated in the course of this story, although it does happen in this universe, and there is no shifting in this world.
That was a very good Christmas themed omegaverse which had lots of layers in the narrative, compelling characters and very little angst.
Of the series so far, it's definitely now my favourite and I loved both Teddy and Dan's personal journeys towards each other and happiness together.
It was cute without being sickly sweet, the sexy talk didn't overwhelm things and Dan's massive family reminded me very much of my own at Christmas when Iwas growing up.
This story was about Teddy, who's an ESA, he gets called to help out an Omega. That Omega that needs his help is Dan.
Dan was driving home from Christmas when he crashed his car into a snowbank, after the towman said his car won't be fixed for a few days he checks into a cabin that's nearby. There he realizes that he's getting his heat and calls Bangers and Mash. He never expected the alpha they sent to him, he also didn't expect that he was going to fall for this stranger either. Read yourself to see how their story unfolds!
MM Farmer knows how to write Alpha and Omega stories, I enjoyed how Dan was fighting for his a place in an alpha dominated industry. I also loved Dan's family and how they embraced Teddy and supported one another. Except for Grandpa Dennis, I got one did not like his character. He was definitely the Christmas Scrooge in this story, which was a surprise considering I thought Teddy was the scrooge at first.
Teddy doesn't enjoy Christmas anymore due to the fact that his brother is 'Mr. Christmas ' and he hasn't spoken to him nor spent time together in years. With Dan and Dan's family's help he believes in the magic of Christmas, what the holiday means, and maybe just maybe he'll get to spend the holiday with his brother.
I really enjoy the books in this series and this one was such a good Christmassy addition. I know that mpreg exists in this world even though it's not written on page, but I would like if we could see a glimpse into the future of these characters having kids together. Maybe an epilogue?
Overall really good!.
I received a early copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I absolutely loved reading about Teddy and Dan. Teddy is alone for Christmas because his only brother is too busy being Mr Christmas on the television. Dan is on his way home after a disaster of a meeting at work and runs off the road in a snowstorm. Teddy is an ESA and when he gets a call for an emergency heat call, he meets Dan at the cabin he is staying at while going through his heat. Things don’t always go to plan when on a call, both men catch feelings for each other and their future just got a whole lot more interesting when they both show up at Dan’s family Christmas celebrations. There is a happily ever after for these two.

This was one of the most boring books I've ever read. I skimmed 80% of it. I gave it 2 stars cause it started good and ended well but the middle was blah. Grandpa was a complete and total ass, he suffered 0 consequences for his actions. I hated the family for how they allowed that, occasionally they would be like "oh no don't say that Grandpa" but no one actually stopped it. He made Dan feel like shit his whole life, what kind of "loving" mother allows that? Honestly Dan would have been better off to just leave with Teddy and not look back after that big family blow up. I usually love these books with big, loud, pushy families but this one was for the birds. The fact that Dan didn't even realize his family was proud of him and his accomplishments just shows how lousy this family is. So yeah not a fan, I have never read this author before so maybe it's just this book. I'll try more before I write them off completely.

Well, the last chapter saved this story from being a two star rating. Still, I thought this is one of the worst Christmas stories going. I at ways thought that Christmas stories were supposed to be uplifting and not a downer. The grandpa in this one should've been written out or dropped dead.
i really loved them together but grandpa really ruined this for me like i was having fun until he opened his mouth….it would’ve been better if that man never opened his mouth
This is the book that the author filled me with so much rage that I can no longer read her books. The actual love story between Dan and Teddy is sweet – I’d give that 4 starts.
But, Grandpa had to come and ruin everything and the way the author dealt with his character is the absolute worst. There is no excuse for that man to still be a part of that family. Unconditional love is a thing for some people (not me) but that doesn’t mean you have to allow that person to be in your life if they are a raving misogynist. I’d especially not allow this person to be around any kids. The sexism that Grampa spews should have been shut down years ago and the fact that the family still lets him verbalize those thoughts in their presence (even if they don’t agree with them) is almost as bad in my opinion. Obviously, they’ve told the Grandpa that his opinions are sexist, but he also just kept on saying that crap. Grandpa has no consequences for his sexist beliefs – he still gets to be a part of the family and I just can’t understand that or support that messaging.
“You know he’s a grumpy old coot sometimes.” – nope that’s not what he is. What he is is a complete sexist ass that has told your youngest child that his only value in the world is to submit to an alpha and have babies. As a parent your job is to protect your child, which means getting that person that diminishes your son and his hopes and dreams out of his life.
“It’s not Grandpa’s old-fashioned view of omegas that bothers me.” Old-fashioned is too quaint of a term for what Grandpa is – call him what he is, a sexist and misogynist.
“I know, I should just brush it off” Absolutely fu*king not. You don’t just brush off someone saying you’re worthless if you aren’t at home popping out babies left and right. What kind of messaging is this for an author to be promoting?
“I’ll talk to Grandpa when I can get him alone and tell him not to upset you and Teddy with his viewpoints.” VIEWPOINTS? It’s not a viewpoint to think that your grandson having a career in a field he had to fight for a place in is wrong and his only value is taking care of his man for the rest of his life. And, obviously talking to Grandpa does zilch since he’s still spewing his sexist rhetoric after years of them telling him to stop. I can’t fathom allowing such a toxic ass to be around. He either wises up and educates himself about the world or he completely shuts up. Anything else and he’s no longer welcome. Cutting abusive family off is a totally normal and healthy response. “How about we not play host to whores on Christmas.” As soon as the word whore came out of that man’s mouth directed at my son and his partner that man would have been kicked out of the house. The whole reason that Dan thinks his family isn’t proud of him is because they’ve never really supported him. They’ve never made him feel truly safe. Allowing the Grandpa to be a part of their lives prevented that. Their silence spoke volumes.
I’ve read quite a bit of MM Omegaverse series and this is by far the most gendered I’ve found. The author seems like she wants to promote a less sexist world, but she doesn’t have one Omega that doesn’t eventually want kids. She doesn’t have one Alpha that is the house husband. Biology wins out every time in these books – personal will means zilch. I even looked the author up because I started to assume she was a religious freak that just happened to like fantasy smut – that’s how much she promotes gender norms in these books even though on paper it comes off as the opposite.
I could go on and on with examples of the sexist comments the Grandpa makes that the family does nothing about – there are so many of them. Just because someone is family means nada. You treat me like shit – you are no longer part of my life. Family isn’t the be all that ends all. Friends are just as good, if not better, than family. They are the family that you chose. They will be there for you. They aren’t just there because they share DNA. The world would be a better place if we kicked the toxic family members out of our lives instead of just shrugging our shoulders and enabling their abuse to continue. And it absolutely pisses me off that this is the author’s messaging – you gotta allow your shitty family to still be part of your life because they’ll always be with you. WHAT BS.
So, out of 4 books I’ve read in this series 3 of them have had terrible characters that face zero consequences for their heinous behavior because they are “family.” This author has a pattern and I’m practicing what I preach – I’m removing the toxic messaging from my life and no longer reading this author.
Brilliant absolutely brilliant Dan couldn’t believe how awful his presentation had gone, if it could go wrong it did. The company had taken a risk on him because it wasn’t usually a job of an Omega to give presentations but this company didn’t see him as less and this is how he thank them he goes and completely messes up. When his boss tells him he can leave early for Christmas all he can think about is the fact that when he gets back will he have a job to come back too?? He’s just happy to get on the road to get home for Christmas. But he thought he would beat the weather but sadly he did not. going over the mountains he crashed his car into a snowbank. Thankfully when the tow mechanic came he took him to a cabin where he could stay because there was no way he was getting home today. You see to make matters even worse he was going into heat. he had planned, he knew it was coming. he had planned to be with an alpha but now he was stuck at a cabin and about to go into an empty heat. But thankfully the owners of the cabin gave him a card of a company that will send out an emergency alpha to help him get through his heat he did not delay ringing them. Teddy hated Christmas in fact he was really grumpy about it. You see both his parents had died leaving one brother. He worked in television and was called Mr Christmas. Everyone loved him but he never made time for Teddy so he felt very alone at Christmas time he had been with the agency for awhile now and he enjoyed his job he enjoyed helping people so when he got an emergency call out he grabbed it. At least he could help somebody before Christmas came but nothing prepared him for meeting Dan. The chemistry between these two is just off the charts they are completely amazing and both are struggling to keep it professional. You see Teddy had never felt this way about another omega that he’d help through heat and for Dan nobody has ever made him feel this way and it was just easy to fall in the trap of wanting him forever. what is that even possible of when his heat is over would Teddy put his professional head on again and just walk away without turning back?? I could not put this book down I got totally lost in Dan and Teddy. It was just so tender don’t get me wrong the passion was off the charts and how it didn’t burn up my kindle I have no idea but it was the connection that got me it those quiet moments When they forgot why they were together and it was just two men cuddling and talking and being honest absolutely brilliant Book I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I can't remember if I found this book on a recommendation email from one of my favorite authors or on a recommendation post from one of my author fan pages on Facebook or on Facebook as an add. Either way, it grabbed my attention. Here's M.M. Farmer's Bangers & Mash series. The fourth novel is "Christmas Heat." ["‘Tis the season for surprise heats, fake boyfriends, and landing on the naughty list… Dan It was looking like I might have the worst Christmas ever.
Teddy I hated Christmas.
Christmas…while falling hard for the very last omega I should be giving my heart to?"] This book was so fluffy and perfect. Yes, there were a lot of nasty and backwards comments from Dan's grandfather, but everyone (everyone) protected the shit out of Dan. I cried (well, the post-heat feeling of failure makes me cry in each book) near the end there with Teddy and his brother (spoiler alert). It was hot and steamy and there was Christmas role-play. But it was so fluffy and cotton candy and beautiful.
And I know the whole point of this series, of Bangers & Man, of being an ESA, is so the omega doesn't get pregnant, but at this point, I wouldn't be opposed to an accident pregnancy...just putting that out there.
Cringe Christmas After completely buggering up a big presentation at work Dan is driving home for the holidays when he crashes his car into a snow bank, and as if the day can't get any worse his heat is coming on fast. The owner of the cabins he ends up staying in suggests calling Bangers and Mash for an emergency support alpha to help him through his heat. Teddy is the one who answers the call and although he tries to remain professional, this is unlike any of his other calls because he starts to feel more possessive of Dan than he should. This was so cringey. I don't know if it was bad or just funny but either way it made me uncomfortable. Let's start with our alpha who's name is Theodore Baer... Teddy Baer. Really?! Then there's the Christmas themed dirty talk.
"Fuck me, Santa. Fuck my throat with that big Christmas cock of yours and fill me with your eggnog."
Teddy calling Dan, Elf as his term of endearment and Dan calling Teddy, Santa to wind him up since he's so anti Christmas; I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Teddy has a strained relationship with his brother most of the year but it's exacerbated at Christmas because that's the only family he has and his brother is TV personality known as Mr Christmas so Teddy usually spends Christmas alone but when he goes to drop off Dan with his family after his heat passed, since his car is still busted, his family gets the wrong idea and now they're faking it for the holidays. The first half is just pure smut, the story doesn't really kick in until the second half. I liked the family dynamics, except Grandpa Dennis but everyone has one in their family and the way it was navigated was done well. I don't love this series but is was a decent holiday read.
Tropes -Holiday -Omegaverse -Sex Worker -Fake Dating -Age Gap
CHRISTMAS HEAT Merry Farmer I loved this book. I love this series. And I'm loving this author's work a little more with each new book I read.
This addition to the series is absolutely delightful. Aaand this addition has some of the hottest sexy times too. It's almost like the story is divided into two parts: the first is the "meeting" (or the emergency heat-call) and the second part is all Christmas and family. Moderate angst. No actual drama except for one disapproving family member who I wanted to slap upside the head! All in all, this book is so well written. Very well paced. Excellent character development. Lovely world building. Tropes include a bit of "close proximity /Snowed in". A touch of "fated mates", a bit of "found family". A wonderfully rounded HEA (although I did feel this ending could have been extended slightly as it seemed to wrap up pretty suddenly. For example, I would have loved for the author to have included the ultimate reunion between the two brothers.) Nonetheless, I give this adorable book 5 sparkling stars!
* Dual POV. Past tense. First person. * Heat/steam 4 🔥 * Each of these books is standalone but reading the series starter (How to Train Your Alpha) will be helpful in understanding the history of B&M.
Disclaimer : I requested an advance copy of this book from Booksprout and this review is also voluntary.
Omega Dan had messed up a work presentation which might cost him his job as an architect and when driving home for the holidays he drove into a snow bank. At that moment his heat started while trapped in the mountains and so following a tip, he made an emergency call for an Emergency Support Alpha from Bangers & Mash. Alpha Teddy hates Christmas as it is a time for family and the only family he has is a famous brother who ignores him. Having met each other they like each other a bit more than they should. Teddy gives Dan a lift to his parents' house but that led to him pretending to be his boyfriend and then it all got out of hand. Can they get through Christmas without falling hard for each other?
I enjoyed this story with the desperate Omega and the instant connection between them which is then made so much worse by a mistaken assumption by Dan's exuberant family. They really were perfect for each other and I was so glad when they were able to sort everything out. Some of the family members were crazy but it was great to see that even with that they all loved each other. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content that was set within the Omegaverse.
Christmas Heat by MM Farmer is my favorite of the Bangers & Mash series. It’s an instant holiday classic, and I’m sure I’ll be re-reading it before Christmas Eve.
Dan is an omega who had what may have been the worst day of of his professional life. To top it off, he drove into a snowbank and went into heat a bit earlier than he expected. Teddy is an experienced ESA (emergency support alpha) whom we’ve met earlier in the series. Teddy isn’t a fan of Christmas for reasons explained in the book which is why he was available for Dan’s emergency.
This book hit all the emotional notes for me. Teddy finds himself in familiar circumstances with the needs of his omega, yet they are also unfamiliar circumstances because of the emotions he feels and the thoughts popping into his head.
I feel that one of highlights of the book was when Dan asked Teddy for a ride to his family’s Christmas gathering. Queue the comedy and drama only family can bring. Prepare yourself for an enjoyable binge read with a happily ever after (in more ways than one)!
I received an ARC from the author. The opinions expressed above are my own.
This is book 4 of the Bangers & Mash series but you don't have to have read the earlier books to fully enjoy this one. This is my favourite one of the series. This is the story of Dan and Teddy. Dan is an omega architect who is struggling in the alpha dominated world. After having a terrible presentation at work. he believe that he is about to be fired from a job that he loves. He decides to leave for Christmas early but not early enough. He is caught in bad weather and damages his car. Plus with all the stress that he is under, his heat comes early. Desperate for help he calls an Emergency Support Alpha from Bangers & Mash. Teddy is an alpha who loves what he does. He thinks that it is important and helping people. He also detests Christmas. When they first meet Dan is both polite and desperate. Together Dan and Teddy are funny. This is their story. It is a well written book and easy to read. I really enjoyed it. I devoured it in one sitting. And while the story takes place over Christmas; it is more about Teddy and Dan's relationship. A fun read.
I received an ARC and am leaving my honest opinion.
Loads of heat and sweet in this tale, but really too much fluff for my taste. Plus, the first third or so of the book (and an overriding theme for Omegaverse themed stories, from what little I've read) is devoted to seeing how many pools of bodily fluids can be emitted in a rather distressing fashion, and an overriding love of the word "cum". After that, there's the transition to Dan's family, and it's almost a whole separate story, or at least a completely different flavor. Both parts are enjoyable enough in their own way, and I would have gone for the whole five stars in spite of all the cum, but there were draggy sections that neither moved the story forward, nor added any delight to the journey. I turn into the kid in the backseat repeatedly asking "are we there yet?" when the book starts getting littered with meaningless chaff. It's a shame, since the good parts were really wonderful - and just frequent enough that skimming pages wasn't an option. Sorry, but: make it fun, make it sweet, make it meaningful, make it important to the story, or leave it the fuck out. This book definitely didn't have the snap and zing of the first in the series.
I absolutely loved this book! Dan is an adorable omega who goes into heat on his way home for Christmas when he gets stranded during a snowstorm after a car accident. Luckily, he is able to call for an ESA (Emergency Support Alpha) to help get him through his heat. Alpha Teddy Baer hates Christmas so is just as happy to be working rather than home alone for the holiday. The two have a great connection as they work through the next few days. Once his heat is over, Dan needs to get home but his car is not ready yet, so he asks Teddy to drive him home and Teddy agrees. Once home, Dan’s family thinks Teddy is Dan’s boyfriend. How it all works out is a wonderful, warm-hearted, happy tear inducing tale capturing the heart and soul of the Christmas/holiday season.

Just when you think it can't get worse, it does! Dan, was having a really bad start to the holidays. Murphy's Law decided to make an example of him. As the first omega to attain the title of senior architect, he had a lot riding on his shoulders. Then he went into a slump. He also started his heat. On his way home, he took a shortcut through the mountains during a snow storm, he had a slight miscalculation that ended with his airbag deploying. He made an emergency call to Bangers and Mash and Teddy took the assignment. Meeting Teddy Baer is the cap to Dan's day. They are both dragging some weighty luggage on their journey. The families are a hoot, there are a few misunderstandings and miscommunications. Fun story, warm and loving good flow. Great cover art. Well done! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Oh! YEEEEESSSSS!!! This book has all the good stuff a Christmas romance needs and does all so well. I'm in love again.
Teddy is no grinch but he definitely has a problem with Christmas and I loved how things change as he meets and falls for Dan. I didn't even expect that little bit at the end that changed my opinion of a certain side character from kill to ok, not kill and it was perfect.
Dan is so sweet!!! I love how he throws himself into what he's feeling for Teddy and how sensible and kind he is. Very "omega" but trying hard to be more than a stereotype which makes it so sweet to see him find support and confidence.
The story is short, full of family festive warmth, crazy family shenanigans and sweet romance. I love it. 5 stars once again for MM Farmer. This goes into my Holiday reads
Dan made a mess of a presentation to some investors for the company he did architect for, his boss told him that they would talk on Monday after Christmas. He slid into a snow bank on the way to his parents and his car had to be fixed so he was stuck in a cabin. The owner of the cabins gave him a business card for B & M for support during his heat, but Teddy and Dan made a connection. After it was done Dan asked Teddy if he take him to his parents house, they were going to pretend they were dating but it ended being the truth. Then Dan got some great news from his boss which his grandfather couldn’t say anything against and Teddy and his brother reconnected. Good book!.

Christmas Heat Book 4 of Bangers & Mash was a sweet story. Dan is an omega who has an emergency and uses Bangers and Mash’s service which brings him alpha Teddy. Being together for a few days due to the situation allows Dan and Teddy to grow closer and they realize they could have a real relationship together. Meeting Dans family seals it for Teddy and shows him how a real family should be. His relationship with his brother is strained and this just shows him what a supportive family is like. This was a sweet story and I loved the characters. I would definitely recommend this book and I will be going back ti read the first three in the series.

Merry Farmer has written another perfect tale in her omegaverse, and this one is sure to warm your heart while it's cold outside!
Dan and Teddy don't seem like they'd be a good fit at first, thrown together by proximity and circumstance. However, the Powers-That-Be must be benevolent, because much like the previous books, they are P.E.R.F.E.C.T. for each other!
Fave part? The playhouse. I'd be thrilled for someone to do that for me!
I honestly cannot wait for the next installment in the series!
Oh, this was so good! I feel like I’ve been in a bit of a Christmas romance rut, but Christmas Heat broke me right out! I adored Dan. He’s just the best, even though a lot of people in his life make him second guess himself. Teddy is so protective of Dan and I loved it. The story started with plenty of heat, and then the sweetness of family time was a lovely finish. The only thing that could have made it better was for Grandpa Alphahole to fall off the porch and break something.

An ESA called answered only this one comes with strings and some questions that will take some in depth searching to find what it really matters. Loved both Teddy and Dan, as they both have some inner turmoil, but they have an attraction that is unexpected. For the most part enjoyed the family, but Grandpa Dennis is just the worst and stuck in his old ways, very off putting and derogatory comments. I did like the ending as it shows what their possibilities for a future can look like.

I loved this book. I fell in love with this series from the very first book, and am always so excited when a new one comes out. I really loved both omega Dan and alpha Teddy. Poor Dan was having such a horrible day- I could have cried for him. When Teddy showed up to help him through his heat, it was an amusing first meeting. They had such scorching chemistry. Their personalities balanced each other out so nicely and I loved seeing their relationship form. I couldn't put this book down and was sad to have finished it. I can't wait until the next one! 5 stars
Amazing! Loved this story from beginning to end. Why isn't there a starred 5 star rating for the best of the best? Teddy Baer (yeah, I know, cute) is called to an emergency heat call that turns into so much more. Dan is having the worst time ever - car wreck, job wreck and early heat, just to mention a few problems. Having Teddy show up, is not a problem. Loved these characters, Dan's family and all the mishaps. Couldn't put it down.
OMG, I devoured this book. It was my favorite so far of her Omegaverse books... Even though I say this every time...but it's true. I fell for Dan and Teddy from the very beginning. This book has all my feelings going full blast. I chuckled, I got pissed, I cried and I was an emotional mess for these two. The Sloane family was just an added bonus, 'cept for cranky Grandpa Dennis and even he had a few redeeming qualities. All families should love and care as they do. Hated for the book to end.
This was my first venture into the omegaverse, although it's not my first book by MM Farmer. While I'm not sure this particular subgenre is for me, this book was well written, and had a cast of characters that I really became invested in, beyond just the main characters. At the end of the day, I'm a sucker for Christmas romance, and this one delivered for me.

Dan, an omega, feels like he's letting everyone down, including his family. When he gets snowed in while driving home for Christmas, he's forced to call B&M. Teddy, an emergency support alpha, has nothing to do at Christmas, so he's the one who takes the call. Sparks fly that have nothing to do with Dan's heat, and the magic of Christmas envelops them and their families.
