Naomi wakes from an accident with no memory of her previous life. A stranger to her, Joel, claims to be her husband, and Naomi has no choice but to believe him. Joel keeps Naomi isolated and will only drip-feed her clues about her past. He says he's just following doctors' orders - Namoi has to take it easy, or she could be overwhelmed. But Naomi can't help feeling there's something off about Joel and the wonderful life he claims they had together. and how did she get injured in the first place? And who is the strange woman who is stalking her?

Although the plotline is a bit predictable, it's still an enjoyable book. There's some twist and turns but it can be a little unrealistic in parts. Naomi needs to find out her previous life quickly, before it's too late. The story is told from Naomi's point of view. This steady paced read held my attention throughout.

I would like to thank #NetGalley #InkubatorBooks and the author #KylaSharp for my ARC of #HerLastLie in exchange for an honest review.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review as part of the book tour hosted by Zooloos Book Tours.

Her Last Lie is a quick but interesting read. We follow Naomi who has awoken in hospital with no memory of anything due to a serious head injury wiping her mind of memories after falling from a balcony.
When her husband Joel whisks Naomi out of the hospital soon after she awakes, Naomi is understandably confused and unsure. She doesn't remember her husband and he is very cagey about everything and says he doesn't want to overwhelm her. Naomi starts to piece together what she can during her recovery and begins to remember she is an influencer of some sort online Her husband says she's in danger but from who or what?
I really felt for Naomi at times and enjoyed that she was likeable, intelligent and used her initiative. I guessed the ending but this didn't ruin the book for me at all as it was very well written and I liked Naomis character so much. There are some good little twists along the way too.

Naomi wakes up in hospital after an accident, but has no memory of her previous life. The man by her side says he is Joel her husband, but she has no memory of him either and has to believe what he is saying is true.

Naomi starts to question Joel and this so called "wonderful life" they have together, and how did she get injured and lose her memory in the first place?

A great riveting read that was wonderfully written.

Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Thanks NetGalley and Inkubator Books for this ARC!
Naomi Sommers wakes up in the hospital with no idea how she got there. She has suffered a severe brain injury. A man named “Joel” says he’s her husband and takes her to a house in the desert where he keeps her isolated from a so called stalker. She has her doubts about the situation.
This was a very entertaining read and I hope to read more by this author.

I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you @zooloosbooktours, #KylaSharp, and @InkubatorBooks for my #giftedbook!

Her Last Lie we meet main character Naomi who has awoken from an accident with no memory. Joel claims he is her husband and they are madly in love. Given her lack of memory she believes him. She quickly realizes something is off when Joel keeps her isolated and drip-feeds her clues about her past per doctor's orders. She quickly suspects she is in danger and must rely on social media to figure out her past before it's too late.

The book is intriguing and kept my attention from start to finish. It is also a quick read filled with family drama and suspense. Naomi's character is well-written and I found myself empathizing with her, especially when some comes home after the accident. I also enjoyed that the book is written from Naomi's POV, this allowed us to peek inside her thoughts and gave the character depth. While the plot was a little predictable there were plenty of twists and turns along the way. Using social media to figure out who you were before is a modern update that I could see happening today.

I recommend this book to all readers who like a well-written, twisty tale full of family angst.

This was a fantastic and quick read that I finished in one sitting. The story follows Naomi who wakes up in hospital with absolutely no memory and can only remeber thinking words as she woke up like "Botox" and "Selfie" and it transpires she has a traumtic head injury after falling from a blacony - which incidently is one of my worst nightmares - shudders - her husband Joel is also acting incredibly strangely, apart from the fact that she cannot remember being married to him, he makes her leave the hospital and makes no sense with his details.
Is this the first book I have read like this - no, is it one of the better ones I have read - absolutely.
It was fast paced, twisty and Naomi was very believable. I liked that we got her point of view and were with her on her journey to remember and we discovered things for the first time as she did, whether she knew it previously or not.
I also loved the social media aspect of the book because that it life now for lots of people.
A really enjoyable read.

I’m a sucker for stories about people who wake up without any memories. Unreliable narrators and amnesia tropes are 🫶🏻my favorite, especially when one comes along with a storyline I haven't seen before. What if you had no memory and only Instagram posts to help put the pieces together?

This was a quick and entertaining read, though some of it was a little far-fetched. I liked that the main character didn’t just let things happen to her and she took action. Mostly, I can’t stop thinking about how strange it would be if you only had your internet history to remember who you were. While the book was so much more, that concept really stuck with me and I love when books make you think beyond the last page.

This was a story about a Naomi - a woman who, after a bad fall and a long stay in the hospital, tries to remember her life and who she is. While this is a storyline that has been done many times before, Kyla Sharp approaches it in a new and interesting way. Early on, Naomi tries to recapture her memories through her online presence. And, this brings up an interesting idea - can we, or anyone, build an accurate picture of someone based on how they portray themselves online? Given that we are shown lives in the best possible light, can we really say that we truly know anyone who we see in social media?

While I was intrigued with the book’s overall plot, there were times when I wished Naomi would stop repeating herself: ‘What am I going to do’, ‘who am i’, ‘where’s my husband’, and the like. While I believe her repetition was a strategy to portray the character’s memory loss, stress and desperation, it struck me as more annoying and unnecessary.

The book is set in New Mexico, with the dessert and wide open spaces, which I’ve ever seen in a novel before. This made many of Kyla Sharp’s descriptions of the environment intriguing and enjoyable. There is a great twist at the end, a big surprise to me, that is brought to the reader in a believable and satisfying way. Overall, a book I would recommend!.

Her Last Lie
By Kyla Sharp
Review and Rating 4 ⭐️

Naomi wakes from a terrible accident with no memory. A stranger, Joel, claims to be her husband and is keeping her isolated in a small casita. He provides her with only small bits of information about her former life daily, claiming her doctors think this is for the best. He also tells her they are in love and he is keeping her here for her own safety, as she is a semi-famous Instagram influencer and has a stalker.
Suspicious, but not sure why, Naomi begins to question Joel and his claims. She knows she is in danger but she doesn’t know who she can trust since she can’t remember anyone from her former life or what happened to cause the accident. Naomi runs away and follows the clues from her old instagram posts, but are the posts even reality or were they just an elaborate illusion?
Naomi must figure out who she really was and get her memory back before it is too late.
I really liked this book, I thought it was a unique, highly entertaining story! Sure there were some plot holes, making it unbelievable at times, but it was a fast paced thriller that kept me coming back for more.
I want to thank #Netgalley, #Inkubator books, and Kyla Sharp for providing an eARC. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.

I loved the concept of this. A women awakens in hospital with no memory of what happened and is taken to a remote house by a man who says he is her husband Joel however something doesn't seem right and Naomi starts to investigate on her own.

The book is incredibly action packed with loads of twists and turns that I did not see coming. I enjoyed the fact that it was told from Naomi's point of view so the reader journeyed with her.

Although some parts were slightly unrealistic such as walking for hours in the dessert in bare feet and a bath robe the book was so engrossing and well written that I genuinely didn't care.

I also enjoyed the commentary on the affect of social media influencers and how thought it was thoughtfully portrayed.

The book was utterly gripping to the point that I finished it in one day and shall definitely be reading more from this author.

I was not expecting that twist!

Naomi wakes from an accident with no memory of her previous life. A man, Joel, claiming to be her husband sweeps her away from the hospital. She slowly starts to regain her memory and begins to notice how Joel has been acting strangely. Naomi decided to investigate on her own, what really happened.

I loved this book! I finished it in a day. The story is told from Naomi’s point of view so you’re learning information as she is. You feel as though you are in her shoes. There were a lot of twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting.

I would definitely recommend this book!

This was a completely different plot scenerio and it was great for that. A bit unbelievable, but sometimes you need that when reading. It was just glorious escapism and kept me entertained for an afternoon for that it is why it is getting 4*, the plot etc would have been 3.5* as sometimes it stretched too far. However saying that just loved the ending.
I do love a book by this author so always do look out for one.

Thank you NetGalley and Inkubator Books for the copy of Her Last Lie. What a rollercoaster of a book! This has all the hallmarks of the perfect Lifetime movie. The characters are the kind I love to hate but still care about. The story was good, although a bit predictable.

This book was decidedly okay. It’s hard to read a story about amnesia with an unreliable narrator AND every supporting character is unwilling to help piece the story together. It’s also hard to root for a main character that won’t help themselves. This book would have been 20 pages long if they had just been reasonable and gone to the cops.

Influencer Beware…! The Dangers of Being a Social Media Darling

In a world ruled by social media.
Where being an influencer, controlling your story narrative through an expertly crafted filter correlating in “Likes” and Comments, which in turn, means dollars turns into a nasty world for Naomi Sunshine…

Or, AKA, Naomi Sommers.

Naomi has managed to craft the perfect life…online.

1.5 million followers can’t be wrong? …Surely

Unfortunately the Badly injured girl who wakes from a coma, in the hospital has no recollection of any of these events and has to rely on the information she is drip feed by the first person she sees.

The man who has decided to “ spring “ her from her hospital bed.

The man calling himself Joel…

Her husband.

However, as Naomi slowly begins to recover, thing just aren’t adding up.

When her private nurse starts acting suspicious, and she overhears arguments between “ Joel” and her, Naomi makes the decision to get out of the tiny Adobe house she has been kept in and run.
First using the on,y weapon she has..A ball point pen on her alleged Husband.

After running to a Dinner, and borrowing a phone from a patron, she checks …what else…Social Media ( yeah, her name is one of the few REAL bits of info, she has )

Thus, she ends up at one of the few places within close proximity that she has “tagged” herself in.
A luxury Spa in Santa Fe.
The moment she arrives there, her life goes spinning outta control…

Further.

The reason Naomi was in the hospital in the first place was because she and her Insta- worthy husband had both fall from the roof of a luxury hotel.

The Media was referring to there “act” as a modern day Romero & Juliet.
A suicide pact.
Both ending up in comas in hospital. ( yeah. Joel isn’t really Joel )

However, like all things in the world of Media,…Social, and otherwise, things are not always what they seem.

It’s all about spinning the narrative for those all elusive “ clicks” & “Likes”

But remember, with popularity also comes jealousy.

Not a bad read

An interesting premise. The world of the online social media, and all the pitfalls that entails.

Because with fame comes the demand for more information.
The lose of privacy.

The danger of the stalker.

Three stars

What if you had to reconstruct your memories using only your social media posts? What would you be missing? What lies would you be telling yourself? What lies are you telling the world?

Instagram influencer Naomi Sommers, aka Naomi Sunshine, wakes up in the hospital with amnesia. She's a stranger to herself, and the one person who wants to help her regain her memories isn't telling her everything. Everything changes when a caregiver figures out who Naomi really is and shows her her Instagram stories.

Naomi embarks on a literal trip down memory lane as she recreates her memories, but there are gaps in her Instagram-perfect life. What is really going on? What led her to be in the hospital in the first place, and who is really behind that? Who can she trust, if not herself?

This book is a cautionary tale, told as a thriller, of the dangers of internet "fame," both for the influencer and for those who model themselves after them. It will keep you guessing to the end, and maybe after.

3.5 stars for this quick & fast-paced psychological thriller. Our narrator, Naomi, wakes up in a hospital bed not knowing who she is or how she got there. She must rely on those around her to regain her memories, but she has no idea who she can trust or who is being truthful to her.

She begins to piece together her past and her profession as an Instagram influencer. As she recognizes her online persona, Naomi Sunshine, it becomes readily apparent she has a life that some would kill to have.

It’s a race against the clock as Naomi tries to figure out who is dangerous to her before they circle back to finish what they started.

This book was pure chaos but it worked! Despite her memory loss, Naomi was a whip-smart woman who took the opportunity to do better with her fresh start.

"Her Last Lie" by Kyla Sharp is such a gripping, fast-paced thriller—I flew through it in a day! From the start, it hooks you with its twists and turns, and the suspense keeps building until the very last page. The characters are engaging, and the story keeps you guessing.

Now, I’ll admit, you do have to suspend your disbelief here and there—some moments stretch reality a bit—but honestly, that didn’t bother me too much. Once you get past that, it’s such an enjoyable ride.

If you’re in the mood for a quick, thrilling read that will keep you turning pages, this is definitely one to pick up. Perfect for a lazy afternoon or a weekend binge!

first thing to say is wow, what a read!

Seemingly a common theme this year, a woman (Naomi) wakes in hospital with no memories but what set this apart from others with this storyline was the suspense and fear I felt with the character. She really had no recollection of who she was and what happened to her and as she learnt more about herself, things just seemed to get worse.

I'm not sure at certain points of the book if I actually liked Naomi but I wonder if she didn't like what she found out about herself either 🤷🏻‍♀️

This was a really great read, I enjoyed it a lot.

suspenseful! Thrilling!

This is extremely suspenseful! You will be addicted, cooked from the very beginning. By the time you are done reading this, you will have a totally different look on social media. It will change the way you think about it, and maybe, hopefully help you think before you post. The tension is high! Naomi has been in an accident, she cannot remember anything about herself. This is the start of how her life begins to change! She doesn’t know who to trust, she doesn’t know which way to turn. Excitement awaits!

This story just didn’t seem to flow that well for me.

The premise was good and something I usually enjoy but I found the story to be somewhat lacking. Lacking what? I do not know, just something that would possibly excite me and put me on the edge of my seat.

The ending was good but again, not great. I really wanted to like this book more than I did. It’s my first book by this author and I will definitely be giving her another try.

Witty and thrilling

I'm too spent to write a long review. This book took me on a journey and ransacked my thoughts, providing me with just enough information to connect the pieces but not enough to be exactly right.

I loved every twist and turn and every aha! moment. This book was amazing and I loved it. Wouldn't reread though, it makes me feel a little queasy
