The moment he caught my scent, I was his.

When I stumbled upon a fearsome orc warrior in the forest, I feared it would be the end of me. But to my surprise, the muscle-bound monster tossed me over his shoulder and carried me off.

My scent told him he'd found exactly what he was hunting.

A human female, fertile and ready for breeding.

It turns out that escaping an orc who's determined to claim you as his mate isn't easy. Every time I try, I end up caught and brought back bare and blushing with my well-spanked bottom burning and the evidence of my body's shameful surrender glistening on my naked, quivering thighs.

And the clock is ticking.

At the next full moon, he will take me publicly in front of his entire clan.

Publisher's Note: Claimed Mate includes spankings and rough, intense sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

Listen. I don’t EVER leave low rating reviews unless I believe the contents of a book are genuinely toxic and harmful.

This was non-verbal implied-consent at best, flat out kidnapping and blatant assault at worst. After he “teaches her a lesson” for calling him a b@stard by mouth raping her five times IN A ROW, I just couldn’t continue on. In their first twenty-four hours of their “relationship”, he finds her in the woods and hoists her up like a lost pet. Hauls her into a bath after threatening her to get her naked, then forcibly pleasures her in ways she’s never experienced. I don’t care how many orgasms she has, she NEVER says yes to any of his touching. She is actively trying to get away. She feels shame over and over. I don’t care if he knows how to make her feel good or if she’s aroused by being touched by someone who isn’t calling her a witch-

This. Is. Assault.

So this woman is fleeing a witch-hunting mob who burn down her house behind her, 2 months after losing her very elderly husband on their wedding night before they consummated their “marriage of convenience” which I feel like… author doesn’t know what a marriage of convenience is? This “untameable haired” woman with one green and one blue eye has been alone, bullied, and ostracised her entire life. I’d say she’s a perfect victim ready to be further Stolkhom syndromed into an abusive relationship by a bastard who thinks he owns the actual first woman he sees.

The description of the book says dark content with spanking and punishments. I’ve read a good deal of well done dom/sub romance and this??? This was NOT it. I wouldn’t classify this as a monster romance - this is just a monster abusing a human captive until she’s too cowed to resist him. There was nothing romantic about this. 0 communication, 0 consent (implied or otherwise), and 0 respect.

Also? The final nail in my DNF coffin. Getting mouth pounded by a giant orc c0ck 5 times IN A ROW would cause serious harm to the victim’s mouth and throat - I’m talking blood and bruising. Not waking up to sunshine and daisies the next morning, cuddled like everything is happy hunky dory. And he has the audacity to gaze down at this captive woman he’s been assaulting and brag to himself that he’s oh so protective of her???!!! This prisoner that he literally is keeping at his side by stealing her boots???

I don’t ever leave bad reviews UNLESS I really think the content is harmful. This?? This is actual assault being passed off as romance.

There wasn’t a single trigger warning of the non-consent that fills at least the first half (I don’t know about the second because I’m not reading any further) AND, furthermore, the reviews of this book are glowing and do nothing to warn a fellow reader about the actual contents. Anyone who says this is a “light and easy” read???? What the actual he!! version did ya’ll read, because it wasn’t the edition of assault-filled Claimed Mate that I regret downloading.

This was ok. It was pretty much a romance set up for spanking, and I felt that was the sole focus of the book. The heroine does something the hero needs to punish her for and spank her. He also forces her to give him a blow job and I didn’t care for that scene at all as she’s basically unable to breathe and he’s choking her on his dick. What a dick!

This is a double virgin romance which I normally love but the hero’s treatment and handling of the heroine came off too rough.

There’s also public sex where their first time is in front of the entire clan and that left me cold too. It’s just not romantic, it’s not about just the two of them becoming one, it becomes them plus everyone else and there’s no intimacy in that.

Safe from cheating or sharing or ow/om. Not safe from abuse (forced bj) or exhibitionism. Both virgins. HEA but no epilogue.

The word the author chooses to use for female genitalia is God awful; “Cunny” gag. The female clit “Nubbin’”. Gag gag. I read it any way it’s alright I just cringed every single page.

This book set women’s rights back four thousand years.

What in the misogynistic Stockholm Syndrome NC-disguised-as-CNC brainwashing blasphemy was this?

It should get zero stars, but it had to get 1 because GoodReads doesn’t want to see me happy.

To sum it up, there are no content warnings for CNC, and besides that, I wouldn’t even call it CNC. It was straight NC. Brainwashing. The MMC was the most misogynistic piece of sh*t I’ve ever encountered, and that’s saying a lot. All this talk about “she needs to realize that she must submit to me” and “she must obey my every command” I may have been able to handle in a bedroom kind of setting (who doesn’t like a dominant man) but this was… He genuinely thought women were less than men, needed to submit to their masters and do what they’re told, and violently assaulted her for disobeying. Not just spanking. I’m talking violent SA. Do not read this. The author of this book is seriously disturbed.

DO NOT BE MISTAKEN I love me some books that have a little kidnapping sometimes (in the right setting and context) or a very dominant male/very submissive female, with a little non-traditional spice (k*nky is good lol) but this was not that. This was just…disturbing.

This was my first orc smut read and I am definitely open to reading more. I liked the fairytale setting, which gave the story a historical feel but didn’t require the author to center it in any actual historical period. The orc-human-fae dynamic was interesting. And the orcs are a good mix of dominant, rough, and caring. I enjoyed the set up of the heroine accused of witchcraft. About the only thing I didn’t love was the heroine herself. First of all, I am not a fan of the ‘I’m so ashamed of my sexual arousal and it’s so humiliating that the hero knows I’m aroused’ thing. Secondly, I didn’t like the fact that she stayed so stubbornly focused on escape. The set up made room for her to soften quickly and move from wanting to escape, to confusion about whether she wanted to escape or not, to wanting to be with the hero, without the extended period of mule-headed determination. After a lifetime of ill treatment at the hands of humans, with nothing to escape to except the probability of another witchcraft accusation because of her mismatched eyes, an overbearing orc with a tendency to spank and give mind-blowing orgasms should have looked like a decent alternative even if she wasn’t happy about being snatched up. Unthinking stubbornness is not strength, and when it lingers too long it makes the character unappealing. There were plenty of other possibilities for conflict and punishments. Also, it made no sense for her to be so stubborn on that front, but instantly forgive the women who had been actively tormenting her for her whole life, or at best looking the other way while she was mistreated. She’s so stubborn… except when she isn’t? Despite this rant, she was less annoying than she might have been, and I know that some readers want that particular point of conflict to linger through most of the story.

But what about the sex? That is what I read erotic romance for, after all. Part of the story is that they couldn’t have pen in vag sex until the full moon and a return to orc lands, which was obviously limiting. It meant that manual and oral were all that was happening. Anal sex was teased as a possibility but never really happened. That became a smidge repetitive. However, it was saved by the dirty talking hero and the addition of spanking. And the smoking hot, wild orc sex at the end definitely ended it on a high note, sexually speaking.

There was plenty of set up for a series here. I am hopeful that future books won’t just be a repeat of kidnap, anger and escape attempts, then happy together at the end. Maybe some of the heroines will be happy to escape their life, or maybe the orcs will woo the females they desire (it was mentioned as a possible strategy) in future books. Sue Lyndon writes consistently good spanking romances, even if they don’t all align perfectly with my preferences. I am giving this one a solid 4 stars.

I loved Sue Lyndon’s new fantasy romance series. Book one Claimed Mate surpassed all my ideas on what a romance book can be about. She made me fall in love with an orc of all things. This book had an original storyline and wonderful characters. The orc tribe is dying out, a cursed was placed on them and they have only twenty females left. After a seer tells them to find mates in the human realm Commander Soren takes a group to go search for mates. Elisa is a human who’s village has branded her a witch, so she fled into the woods where Soren finds her. They’re instantly drawn to each other and the sparks fly as they fall in love. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

A definitely fun read, but the fun part was cut short because it ended with no epilogue. Whyyy, just why y'll would do me like this. 🥺 I was so cliffhanged wth. Nevertheless, this was a good stuff. Safe from ow/om drama with Dual Virgins. Torn between HEA or HFN. But I guess this was more leaning with hea, but hea feeling incomplete bc of the abrupt/felt liek rushed ending.

Another good erotic romance from Sue Lyndon. This time the author takes us to the world inhabited by humans and other paranormal creatures. I liked the idea of a storyline in which each of the orc clans had to claim 100 human women and breed with them in order to lift the curse. Since the Orcs consider humans to be weak creatures who cannot be trusted, not everyone is thrilled with the idea. In this case, however, the ends justify the means and the orc's troops go to human lands to buy or kidnap human females.
I liked the creation of Soren - the son of the leader of one of the orc clans. He is the dominant male who believes that the female should submit to him and any disobedience should be punished. Still, he is not a brute and would never hurt his female. His behavior stems from the culture of the orcs, where the man is the head of the family. At the same time, their task is to take care not only of the safety and maintenance of their mate, but also to make her happy. When Soren meets Elisa, he unexpectedly discovers a sensitive side within himself.
In Elisa's case, I liked her background - a girl who was accused by other villagers of being a witch because of the color of her hair and eyes. Fearing for her life, Elisa escapes to the woods, where she accidentally runs into Soren and his squad. As for the character of heroine, I must admit that I liked her on average. Although nothing good had ever happened to her from humans, she had insisted for quite a long time that moving to a different human village was a better option than starting a life with Soren.
As befits an erotic, there are a lot of steamy scenes, although the actual consummation of their union is only possible during the full moon with clan members as witnesses. The initial prejudices against the orcs and Elisa's stubbornness are the reason why Soren often has to discipline her, while ensuring that pain and humiliation are rewarded with pleasure.
The book is well written. It also has a lot of action with a few twists, which made me read the story with interest.

I've been on the lookout for a good D/s romance, but this just wasn't it. The entire plot is basically just a setup for a spanking and punishment kink with a heaping handful of CNC thrown in. I honestly struggle to even call ot CNC, but up until the very end of the book, it's just a case of body betrayal syndrome on the part of the FMC. Not until the very last scene does she actually volunteer to take part in any sex act.

Now, I have enjoyed some well written dubious consent in the past, even some CNC, but this just got old real quick. It really felt like the same, "he is going to punish me, and I am going to get turned on even though I hate it," scenario played out over and over again.

There's not really a romance arc either. FMC just goes from hating this guy to suddenly just rolling over and accepting her situation because, in her mind, it's not any different from her last marriage of convenience. Also, some of the writing made the FMC feel very childish in a way. She just didn't have much of a personality either.

The initial premise of the book sounded good, and I will give the author credit for the world building. The stuff going on in the background was a lot more interesting than the two main characters. Some of the side characters also grabbed my attention.

But aside from all the bad writing, clunky dialogue, and zero chemistry between the characters, by far the biggest and most egregious sin this book has committed was the explicit overuse of the words "cunny" and "nubbin." For fucks sake just say "clit" or "cunt." I'd rather read the word "clit" a hundred times before ever seeing "nubbin" written on page again.

In short, this wasn't the absolute worst BDSM book I've ever read, but the story was clearly just an excuse to push along some spicy scenes. The emotional payoff wasn't there, and it fell flat. This is the second book by this author that I've read and I think it's safe to say her style is NOT for me.

TW: forced sexual acts/rape; misogyny; toxic behavior

This story could have been amazing. The writing was ok (if there wasn’t the word cunny).
But as soon as the FMC and the MMC met it was all about him being the male/husband and therefore she has to behave and submit.
He tells her he doesn't want her to lie to him, but when she speaks her mind and it’s against what he thinks is ok, she gets punished.
Speaking of punishment:
Their first encounter ends with him spanking her. Could have been a good scene. Instead she was frightened the whole time and when he forced his hand between her legs he justified his actions with the good old: "you’re wet so you must like it" therefore this is not bloody rape.
Like WTF that’s one of the typical justification, together with: oh you had an orgasm, you must have liked it.

And every sexual encounter is like this. She is scared and tries to get away from him, she begs him to stop and tries to fight him off. But of course it’s fine because she gets aroused.

I read other reviews about how soft and nice he is… did we read the same book? The one where he just wants a breeder who isn’t allowed to have a mind or her own. He is scared, that she runs away only to „punish“ her by basically SAing her which makes her want to run away more.
His „soft“ feelings inbetween just give it an even more toxic touch. Even in the end she has to suck him off to demonstrate his ownership?!
I read dark romance but there is a way to write those things, yes even CNC, that doesn’t give off this totally rape-y vibe. I also read books with toxic MMCs, but all of the above was just to much. And really, use TW, especially if you portrait „dub-con“ or in this case: rape with Stockholm Syndrom.

I started this book after finishing the first book in her sci-fi romance series and hating it. I wanted to give the author a second shot because I really don’t like to judge someone off of one book.

However, everything that I had a problem with in the sci-fi series followed into this series. The book portrays what I’m assuming she tried to show as a BDSM/CNC relationship, however the way that it is phrased and written is just abuse. BDSM rely on two things to be what it is, consent and a mutual respect for your partner, this book lacks both. This is simply the main male character abducting a woman and abusing her. During these scenes of abuse in the book his actions are justified by saying that “her body reacted“ and things of that nature. This is an incredibly harmful way to depict BDSM relationships, it diminishes the meaning of sexual assault, and takes away from survivors of abuse. Your body will react to stimuli because it is stimuli. It has absolutely nothing to do with the level of consent. There is absolutely no character development throughout this book, the only thing that could be considered character development is the female main character just comes to terms with the fact that she either needs to obey her captor or be assaulted. There is nothing wrong with BDSM/CNC/power dynamic relationships, however there is something wrong with writing an abusive story and trying to portray it like one of those.

TLDR: spice mid, plot mid, it’s an abusive relationship portrayed as a BDSM relationship. Makes ‘it ends with us’ look good.

Elisa is in a dangerous position in her home village. Her mother was killed for being a witch when she was younger. Elisa has no magical abilities but she was born with two different colored eyes so some villagers secretly believe she is a witch also. After her father died, she married a friend of her father to keep her safe. He died on their wedding night which made the village more suspicious. Then one day when she returned to her house after a shopping trip, she is followed by an angry mob. Quickly she escapes her house and runs to the woods as they set her house on fire. Elisa is totally unprepared to be out in the woods on her own. Unluckily she isn't on her own for long. She runs across a group of orcs and tries to hide. She is spotted by their leader, Soren who claims her as his own.

Soren is part of a dying clan of orcs. There are very few females left and the females left are not fertile. A seer told them that to break the curse placed on the orcs, they would have to capture and mate with 100 human women. Soren and some of his men are on a trip to find their human mate. Soren finds Elisa in the woods and her scent tells him she is fertile and meant for him. He claims her as his but she lies to him and tries to escape. He catches as shows her how an orc treats a wayward mate.

This is a non-con book. It also has some intense (maybe not a strong enough word) scenes and often requires some suspension of disbelief for how invincible everyone all round seems to be, but this is erotica, not action, so whatever.

I had some issues with the dumb words: nubbin isn't hot and mayhap felt out of place for otherwise pretty modern English. They're both used several times.

The main character is also a little too "poor me", you can write someone who feels like an outsider without literally making them bullied every second of their life to the point where the orc who abducts her is the first to really make her feel safe. And her hair is a focal point; it's black and untamable, and somehow makes everyone think she's a witch. Someone else also had black hair, so is it that it's messy? lol

I don't think this is part of a series, but it does set up for one with all the pairings mentioned (they're so irrelevant I can't name them and they very well could've just been numbered). I think a little time more couldn't been spent with some of the other women, we're shown the main character having to learn orc culture is different and less scary from what she learned, yet all the other women just kinda accept it like the background characters they are.

Wonderful read of Orc Romance, great characters and a well written scenario
This is a wonderfully written story all about the Orcs and the wonderful and beautiful romance that blossoms between the Orc and Elisa who is a human that he had taken and had unsuspectingly fallen in love with that very same female which was something that simply never happened between Orc’s and humans.
The Orc’s have been dying and their numbers ae decreasing and they have been told by the Seer that they need to mate one hundred females and mate with them and hopefully produce a new generation of Orc/Human offspring.
This was a wonderful read that held your attention from start to finish, once you begin reading you will not be able to put down until the final outcome is known.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

Her mother may have been a self-proclaimed witch but the only thing that Elisa inherited from her was her looks. No magic, nothing at all yet it didn't stop the rest of the village deciding that she was indeed a witch. Bullying, nasty comments and scorn is all she is shown but at that point her father is still alive. When he passes, her father's friend offer protection as his wife. He is kind man who treats her well but he doesn't live long after their wedding, More fuel for the fire. The next time she goes into town she is chased out by a rabid mob. Her house is on fire so she runs into the forest, straight into the path of an Orc. Face the mob or stay with the Orc? What a decision to make! There is a curse hanging over the lands of the Orc. Soren's father would do anything to see it broken but the cure is one that many refuse to accept. Soren and his brothers are sent out to the human villages to bring back women, but only only women, mates. Something tells Soren to make camp a little before he would normally but he decides to listen to instinct. An instinct which pays off as a sweet scented female comes right to him. All her has to do is keep hold of her. Easier said than done!

This was a brilliant book and what the main characters had to overcome to get the HEA was so well written. Elisa is a human and just like her mother she is accused of being a witch because of her eyes and so the villagers decide to burn the witch to hell but Elisa escapes and makes it to the forest and thinks she is safe when she is captured by a huge Orc that she thinks is going to eat her but he tosses her over his shoulder and takes her away. Commander Soren and his clan the Gaalosh have been cursed and the clans Seer tells them that they must get 100 females to breed with so the cures can be broken and to increase there clan numbers but being with a human felt wrong until he captures Elisa who takes his breath away but she tries to run from him. Elisa just wants to be free and every time she tries to escape she is brought back and punished and then pleasured but Soren will only breed with her on the full moon. How does it all turn out can they break the curse and save his clan and what happens when they fall in love will they be excepted by everyone.

It was a very good story, I don’t read many orc stories because they are short and disappointing but this one didn’t disappoint and very entertaining. Actual sex only once but the rest was many punishments and play times to give the female the nourishment her orc can provide for his mate.

Ending the break a curse on his people, he trusts a seer with the information. To break the curse the fae placed on his people, Soren and his clansmen will need find/capture or steel human females to become their mates, not just a few but one hundred females. Soren and his clans journey to find the females.
Elisa is accused of being a witch like her mother m just because of her looks and her duel eye color, hated by her own village and about to be murdered by these people she escaped her home and I for the forest but her freedom won’t late for long, especially with a orc in her scent.

Steamy level 4/5 spanking, whipping with a belt, demanding male who don’t like his female to lie, escape or steal from him. But who knew orc were clean, demanding and unescape proof…

This is a well written book. The characters are fantastic and the storyline is entertaining and exciting with lots of details. The orcs were cursed by the fae and their females perished. A seer told them that to end the curse the males must claim a hundred human females as their mates. Soren who is the son of the leader took a group of orcs into the human lands. It’s there he meets Elisa, who was running from her village after a mob tried to kill her as they think she is a witch. Soren knew that she was his and he intends to claim her. Elisa isn’t going to make it easy for him though, she plans to escape as soon as possible. Soren is possessive and protective though and won’t take her escaping him lightly. It’s not safe in the forest, there are unseelie fae and dangerous creatures about. He only wants to keep her safe and protected and if he has to punish her he will. Will Elisa come to love Soren or will she manage to escape? You will have to read to find out.

A lot of traipsing through the woods

This was my first ‘Orc’ book and is was entertaining. Elisa is captured by Soren after escaping an angry mob of townspeople accusing her of being a witch and threatening to burn her at the stake.

The vast majority of the storyline takes place in the woods as Soren as his cansman are on the hunt for fertile single human women and to hopefully find a group of missing clansman who left weeks ago and never returned.

Elisa tries to runaway from Soren on several occasions and is horrified at the idea of being publicly claimed by him at the next full moon. Soren is protective of his future bride and disciplines her whenever she acts up or attempts to escape. There is some connection between these two characters, but most of their interactions are either him describing how he is going to punish her, him actually punishing her or copious amounts of him down her throat.

While I was entertained, it didn’t grab my attention and I’m not sure I’d want to read more.

Absolutely loved reading this wonderful story, as Orcs seem to be one of my favourite go to at the moment. What i really loved about this story was that once more the Orcs have proved the humans wrong. They think that they are monsters but in reality like any other race they are kind hearted and have feelings as Elisa soon finds out.
Elisa, has wild black hair and dual coloured eyes just like her mother. But unlike her mother she is not a witch, however the people of her village think otherwise and soon she is running for her very life.
Soren is out searching for his fathers adviser, and on the way he is going to get some females because the Seer has said that they must find 100 females to mate with to break the curse.
One look at Eilsa and Soren knows that she is meant for him, even if Eilsa dosnt think the same.

This story is a must read, definitely worth a good five star rating in my opinion.

Soren clan, the Gaalosh, is dying out. So few females and due to a curse. When the seer tells them they will need human woman, they are shocked. But to increase the clan they must. Elisa has no ill will towards anyone. Being labeled a witch due to her look, only brings heartache. When she is found in the woods by Soren, he sees his future. I have read a lot of Orc stories lately. At times they all sound the same. But you have to get to the meat of the story. I actually was so annoyed with the people of Elisa’s village. To label her a witch because of how she looked was crazy. At the same time, Elisa was doing the same with Soren. The myth about an Orc. The clan needed to break this curse. I understand Elisa wanted to be free but she was with Soren. It just took her to realize she had more then what she had with the humans.

“Claimed Mate: A Fantasy Orc Monster Romance” by Sue Lyndon. It is filled with suspense, mystery, fast paced , twists and turns and beautiful romance. The reader is kept on edge and uncertainty. The book tells its own original and creative story.
The Orc tribe is dying out, a cursed was placed on them and a Seer has told them, they need to find and mate 100 human females to end the curse. Commander Soren and several Orcs go in search of human females. Elisa is a human who’s village has branded her a witch, so she fled into the woods where Soren finds her. And, the story takes off from there! They’re instantly drawn to each other and the sparks fly as they fall in love. They are unique with lots of surprises and great HOT sexy scenes! This was a romantic story about Soren, who's an Orc and Elisa who's a human. Usually humans and Orc's stay away from each other but the Orc's Seer has told Soren that they need to mate hundreds of human females in order to increase their population. Elisa has been branded a witch so she's in the woods where Soren finds her. One smell and he knows that she's his mate. The story is well written filled with suspense, mystery, it's fast paced, protective alpha male, possessive, dominate, spankings, some BDSM, and lots of sizzling steam. Soren and Elisa had a lot to learn about each other but I enjoyed their journey to their HEA. I enjoyed the story very much and am looking forward to future stories.

Look I wanted to love this but it's really not great and it's not a romance.

There is NO CONSENT. literally it's the story of a kidnapped and abused girl who is CONSTANTLY sexually assaulted and used by an orc who dehumanizes her, treats her like she's less than him and she is constantly trying to get away. Every sexual encounter is her scared and trying not to make things worse but feeling "betrayed by her body" because she gets sexually aroused. Elisa has no agency, there is no chemistry and the orc is a creep who gets off on spanking her for every little "transgression" (read: her not submitting to his every whim and being the perfect subservient sex doll.

Look. I'm good with some dubious consent etc. If there's warning for that... But I thought this was a smutty romance and got some sort of kink non con sex fantasy. Oh and he R*PES UER IN PUBLIC? Because it's "tradition" BARF.

📖 Claimed mate
🖋️ Sue Lyndon
🧬 Monster romance

A dark read. In many times it's also rough read but that's expected from this pen name as the author tends to write more rough, erotic and steamy stories( compared to the lighter sweater version of her other pen name Sue Mercury) . There's exhibition that I disliked. Otherwise, the love scenes were well written. There's a good ground for a series and an epilogue would have meant a lot as a conclusion unless the author planned to revisit this couple in the other books in the series. I hope she does. Recommended.

An orc community is told they must mate with 100+ humans for their future survival, and a human fleeing her home is an easy catch for them. Elisa doesn't just need to escape this group of orcs, she needs to avoid anyone from her home town. But since this orc group needs more human females, they put her in an especially scary position when they want to go there for more humans. Either she remains a captive of the orcs or she's burned alive as a witch. And even if she remains a captive, she doesn't expect to be in good company if her fellow captives end up being those who tried to burn her alive once before!
