Everything in Between: An Everything After Rocker Romance
Gabe Preston. The man who wrecked me; who tore through my life leaving no stone unturned and then simply walked away.
It took me two years to piece my life back together in the aftermath of his storm. Two years and still even the mention of his name causes my chest to constrict. I hate him. I hate everything about him. I hate how he thinks that he can walk back into my life after all this time and I’m just going to melt at his feet. If he thinks his newly found ROCKSTAR status holds any power over me at all, he couldn’t be more wrong. If anything, it makes me hate him more.
Only I don’t hate him. Not even a little. One smile and the last two years all but vanish. But I know what loving a man like Gabe Preston will do to a girl. I’ve lived it firsthand. I won’t make the same mistake twice. Not knowing what I know.
He may be used to having all the power, but I’m the one with the secret that will change everything.
Everything in Between is a standalone rocker romance novel that can read by itself or following Killian and Nora’s story in Everything After.

MY THOUGHTS: This is the second book in this series that can be read as a standalone. Everything In Between has a different feel to it as it is an unrequited love and second chance romance all rolled into one.
Raelyn, our heroine, fell head over heels in love with Gabe 2 years ago, while they were wrapping up their first album and about to head on tour. Their 5 weeks together were the best of her life. Then he left without saying goodbye. She tried to call him, his number was changed. She left him multiple messages with the studio that went unanswered. After months that turned into two years, Raelyn gave up on Gabe.
Gabe came off their last tour with the ultimatum from the band, clean up your act, or you’re gone. There was too much excess. Too much alcohol, drugs and women. The last two years were a blur because most of the time he was in a stupor. Gabe couldn’t understand how the guys he called family could just let him go. He didn’t feel like his life was out of control until he returned with the band to Athens, Georgia to get back to their roots and lay down new tracks for a new album. He was angry and in a fog. That fog lifted when he came face to face with the beautiful girl he had a 5-week affair with 2 years ago.
Gabe wanted a second chance with her. Raelyn was weak to fight against her feelings for Gabe, her heart wanted to try again, her mind said stay away. Raelyn had a secret that she had to tell Gabe, but would he still want her after he knew the truth.
I really enjoyed Gabe and Raelyn’s story. My heart hurt for them both, as they had lost so much time. There was some push and pull between the characters and the secondary characters that added to the twist in the story.
If you love a second chance rock star romance, then I highly recommend you give this book a try.
Shortly before getting this book I read the first book in this series to get a feeling what I am dealing with. “Everything in Between” by Melissa Toppen was different from the first book.
To me it felt that Gabe had changed or maybe we did not see enough of the real him in the first book. I like the writing style from this author it has something unique to it. Her characters have an “insta” feeling around them without being too much.
Usually “Insta”-anything does not make me feel to good while reading because my mind struggles to make the connections to the characters and that is something that is very important to me.
The story was drafted so carefully that it did not feel like an instant connection but really more like the second chance it really was even though it moved to fast for that and the characters did not really know each other so well.
Following this story it only felt to me that I could not quite wrap my brain around the contacting thing. I believe if you really – like REALLY want to get in contact there is always some sort of possibility – the author should have selected a different way out of this as an explanation.
There was something between the characters that I as a reader felt was worth exploring and I liked to follow the plot to its finish line.
While predictable it was still a pleasant ride and I would like to read more from this series
I really really enjoyed this fast flowing, beautifully written story. Of missed chances and having to grow up and become what is needed of you. This is a typical Rockstar book but it just flowed from the pages again and I found that it was over before I knew it and I was left fulfilled and happy.
The story of Gabe and Rae is a little different as it is a second chance romance and a book where proof is needed for forgiveness and a love that never died at all. I so love this group of men and their chemistry together as a band but also with the women in their lives. I just hope I get to read more from them. As Aiden I feel will be the dark horse amongst this great band of men.
I love this book, style of writing and this author can rock a story and keep you gripped with her words. A huge recommend from me.
I love the way this book just flows. Gabe is the guitarist for the band Ever After and he is taking the sex and drugs part of being a rock star a little too seriously for the rest of the bands liking. He is given an ultimatum, get sober or get out. When he is told they will be returning to Athens Georgia where they first started to record their next record, Gabe is not happy. He has Bodyguards escorting him everywhere, his band mates and his bff Nora are watching him like a hawk. Stopping by the town diner to pick up muffins for Nora he remembers the girl he left behind Raelynn Abbot whose family owns the diner. When Gabe comes face to face with her he is wondering how he could leave this beautiful girl. Meanwhile Raelynn is not the only thing he left. I hope that Ms Toppen writes more on this group. Raelynn's friends Amber and Corey are so much part of this book that I want to know what happened to them. This book does have an HEA and I highly recommended it.
This was a good read. It's been in my pile to read for literally years. I read book one when I found it again a couple of months ago and knew I wanted to continue this story. It's not a continuation as such, but a continuation of another member of the band finding his forever. This time it was Gabe, hard drinker, womanizer and sometime drug user. After the group threatens to fire him, he vows to clean up his act. So he's clean when he goes back to the town in Georgia where the group is from after 2 years away on tour. Then he runs into Rae the beautiful woman he spent time with before leaving. He never even told her that he was leaving. Totally broke her heart. Especially when she realizes what Gabe eventually has left her with. I'm not telling anything more.
The one thing I didn't like was there is no birth control in evidence throughout the story. Or protection from diseases either. Just not mentioned at all and it does pertain to the story. I mean, it's not his first rodeo!
Other than that, I enjoyed the story and the characters a lot. We get both points of view and I liked that too. I would love for there to be other stories from this series as well. Her best girlfriend, the shy member of the band or even Corey could have a story. If I've missed one please let me know. I'm behind on this author although I have read others by her. Recommended to adult romance readers!
I had a difficult time connecting Gabe, the selfish man-whore in book one with this Gabe, the sensitive boyfriend/father in this book. Rae is a beautiful, responsible young woman and I wonder if forgiving Gabe, for all his transgressions, will give her the family and future she desires. But then where does this leave Corey?
“The moment his hazel eyes land on mine, I’m lost in their depths. My god, the hold this man has on me. No matter how this goes, I don’t think there will ever be a man who will make me feel the way Gabe does.”
Heat Rating:
5 Rock Stars! I’m a sucker for a good rock romance, and this one hit all my buttons!
Gabe and Rae… where do I begin?? These two, I will say that when Gabe knows what he wants he goes after it. And he wanted Rae. He fought tooth and nail to get her to be with him and it was nothing short of sexy and fun! I love all books written by Melissa Toppen, she can do no wrong in my eyes! I was pleasantly entertained while reading this and I can’t wait to read more!!

"Because believe it or not, asshole, we actually care what happens to you,” Chet booms, “At this point, you’ve stuck your dick in so many places, you’ll be lucky if you don’t have a fucking disease by now.
“Your alcohol and drug use have gotten out of control, Gabe,” Killian"
Gabe our delinquent rockstar kicks the book off with a sordid bang which begins his journey toward redemption and away from a two year binge of drugs, drink and groupies.Unlike other books of this genre there are surprisingly no slipups,no horrible drug cravings and the hero is easily seduced into a life of monogamy and alternated by the power of love.
Other than the musings flitting like dirty birds in the wonderland of a rock god's mind there is no deep and physical interactions with other woman aside from a used sleeping beauty left unmolested in the morning light by our one night rocker in chapter one.
Gabe Chapter 11
"I don’t know how I looked past her.
Because you were only focused on yourself, asshole, I answer my own question.
It’s true, too. Two years ago all I cared about was the music, making it big, and getting laid. I’m ashamed to admit it, but I probably slept with a handful of girls over the course of the few weeks Rae and I were hanging out."
The book never truly explains in depth why Gabe is formed the way he is other than what he believes is the true lifestyle of a musician should be like
"One minute I’m a fucking rock god—
fucking women, trashing hotel rooms, following in the footsteps of all the greats before me. The next I feel like everything is crumbling around me. So much for my perfect fucking life…"
The book of course ends with the true magic of love prevailing and a sanitised rock tour for our now redeemed rockstar.
I really liked this book even though it had me on edge and at times wanting to cry. The characters sucked me in from the beginning and never me me go until the book ended, though they were still there.
Gabe made me fall in love with him. He started off on shaky ground but her grew on me. He never gave up. He fought tooth and nail to get what he wanted. There was drama and laughs and oh my gosh so much love. We get to see the rockstar lifestyle. He never hid and let his past be known. He loved his Rae. Then there is Rae. She is strong, smart, sensible. She has her father for support and he has been there for her as well as her sister. She did not expect to see Gabe, not after the two years. Then he comes back in. Let’s just say he is in for a bit of a surprise.
This book is well written with ups and downs and omissions and fighting for what you want. Gabe and his words to his Rae…..makes me smile and my heart melt all at the same time. It is well written and worth every moment of the read.
Well the gang is all back and even tho this book is centered around Gabe, the cocky guitar player, it still has the whole band in it. The band has been going at it for a couple years now and it's time for a small break and to work on the second album. They decide to come home to where it all began. And Gabe is put on a leash he's fell to far into the lifestyle and the guys want to pull him out. Raelynn is a girl that fell in love with a boy who was dreaming of making music who had a magnetic draw to him she couldn't resist. But now that he's back in town she isn't sure if how she feels about that. She has secrets that she's hiding and she scared of how it all will play out and can her heart survive Gabe again? Like I said I love rocker books and the development of the characters and the backstory of what happened and how she weaves the story in and out is amazing. Also I found out more of what happened with the first couple in this book without taking away from the couple in this book. I can't wait for the next book!! I highly recommend this series.
Gabe comes back in town after being on the road for 2 years. So much has happened in those 2 years that Gabe is unaware of. Gabe living the rock star life of "sex drugs and rock n roll" which leads him down a path of destruction. The guys in the band (aka his best friends) give him an ultimatum sober up or he's out of the band! The guys go back to Georgia to recoup and start work on a new album than it happens Gabe walks into my dads diner we meet again and my head is going in a thousand different directions like what was he thinking coming back here? He wants to talk to me, go out and just talk... can I let him into my life again? My secret I've held for 2 years needs to be told or does it? Find out if Gabe and Rae's love will rekindle!! Another awesome book by Melissa Toppen!!!
This book picks up where we left off in Everything After, but now it's Gabe's story. We didn't get to know him in book one and he really come out to play now.
Gabe has been drinking and doing drugs for the last two years and the band has had enough. While on break his past comes back. Rae, she is the girl he left heartbroken before the tour. But with one look Rae knows she will be on the loosing but she won't make the same mistake twice and her secret could change everything.
This book can be read a stand alone but I highly recommend reading the first book because you get the back story and both books will make you want more.
Gabe Preston a name I have not thought about for 2 years... back in town after being on the road and not a word from him. So much has happened and he turned my life upside down. Gabe is on a road of destruction and Killian gives him an ultimatum to sober up or he's out of the band! Coming into my dads diner stirs up all my emotions from 2 Years ago... we meet again and all my feelings stir... what is Gabe thinking? He wants to meet... can I let him into my life again? My secret I've held for 2 years needs to come out or does it? Follow this rocker romance between Gabe and Rae and see if there love will rekindle!! Another great book well written by Melissa Toppen!!!
Gabe and Raelyn's story tugged on my heart strings the entire time I was reading it. I felt emotions that I didn't think I will feel with it being a rocker romance. The event that played out in this book were written perfectly. I was able to relate to every single character that was involved big or small. Sometimes the love you thought you had found slips through your finger tips but it does sometimes eventually find its way back to you in a different form. This is a great standalone novel that you will not regret reading. Although tissues may be required due to the pure geniusness of the author.
I voluntarily read and reviewed this book for my honest opinion.
I received and voluntary reviewed an ARC of this book. This book was read and reviewed by Stacy Aube for Cutting Muse Blog Review.
The more books I read by Melissa the bigger the fan I am. This is the second book in the Everything After series. Gabe was truly living the rock n roll life style, alcohol, drugs and a different woman every night. When he is forced to change his ways he finds something he never knew he was missing. Will he be able to prove his worth to the only woman to capture his attention?
I love all the different aspects of this book. Worth working for.
Great story about a girl Rae, who falls for the guy in the band, Gabe, then the band gets picked up and off he goes leaving Rae to pick up the pieces of her broken heart among everything else. 2 years later he returns, what will happen when she see's him again? What will happen when and if he see's her again? Will he remember her? Melissa wrote a great story about second chances and how people can change! Loved this story! 5 stars and make sure you grab this one!
I liked the way Gabe was when he was with Rae, “only when I’m around you.” He leans in for a brief kiss. “I just can’t help myself, you drive me crazy.” He speaks against my lips before pulling back just enough to meet my gaze. " I liked this book, I loved Gabe.
Gabe was totally worth waiting for. His story just consumed me. I couldn't stop reading till the end. And I just love Rae she was just epic and awesome. I hope there is more to come.
This story picks up where we left off in Everything After in terms of timeline, but follows Gabe's story. We briefly met Gabe in book 1 but don't really get a sense of him until we see him now. He has been drinking and taking drugs along with sleeping around for the last 2 years of the tour and the rest of the band give him an ultimatum; clean up your act or you're out. Since the tour has ended the boys have all moved home to Georgia and Gabe is reunited with a blast from the past, Rae. Rae has a shock as well when she locks eyes with Gabe and a lot of suppressed feelings are brought back to the surface but Rae hasn't just got herself to think about anymore she has to consider how Landen will be affected as well.
Although we know all the characters already from the first book, this story can definitely be read as a standalone but was nice to have read the first as I was already familiar with everyone's back stories. I loved seeing a different side to Gabe and seeing him grow as a person. I flew through is story in just one sitting and have been left seriously wanting more. I had already wanted to see more of Kill and Nora but now I need more of Gabe and Rae as well. This author was new to me before this series but I can't wait to read more from her.
This is book 2 in a series and is available through Kindle Unlimited. This is Gabe's story the guitarist for the band Everything After and is told in alternating pov's. The writing is good and its a short sweet read.
Gabe has been on the road with his band off and on for 2 years when they go back home to Athens Ga to cut their next album. While there he runs into Rae, a girl from his past that he spent a few weeks with before the band hit the big time. When that happened he just up and left and never saw or thought about her again. She on the other hand was devastated and tried to contact him several times to no avail. He was living the life of a rock star, a different woman every night. His band told him if he didn't cut the booze and drugs he is out. After being sober for a couple of weeks and seeing Rae again he realizes just what he has been missing. It takes a while but he wins the girl of his dreams back. We get to revisit with all the members of the band. Killian w/Nora, Chet and Aiden who hits it off with Rae's BFF Amber. No major drama in this book, its a sweet read. 3.5 Stars.
We have Rae saying she’s been in love with him for so long, but Gabe was sleeping with other girls when they initially met, and he was a complete drug addicted asshole during tour. When he came back he saw he had a kid and he is immediately this domestic guy who is head over heels for Rae, even though the romance was never developed between them. Melissa just says they’re in love, but doesn’t show him compromising, Rae gives up everything for him

LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS Series And Melissa Can Write one HELL of a Rocking LOVE Story And Gabe Damn Sure Gives Us a Run FornOur Money In This Everything I Between..He Is The Epitomy of A Rocker...and The Story Ughhhh Between Him and Rae......Swoon Worthy For Sure.... YES FIVE*****....Thank You For Letting My Part Of the Beta Team....
I loved how this book followed. Man-whore Gabe finally had a dose of reality hit him in the face. Rae has lived him for a long time, but can their past and present lead to a glorious future?
So much drama in this one. In wish the book was a little longer shop were could've gotten more of them. That would've been perfect, but their story was still great to read.
I only have a few things I didn't like. I didn't care how Ray lungs friends and family talked about Gabe. It wasn't fair. They didn't know him. It was wrong for her to keep his son from him. Their relationship wasn't that great if she runs at the first sign of a problem. Why when she was in LA she didn't visit Nora?
Second chances. This was actually a very sweet story. Gabe was on the path to destruction until his friends and band mates stepped in. Now back where they started he runs into a girlie he knew in his past. Great series.
Very good story! Very entertaining! I loved it! Rae and Gabe were an awesome couple! Corey was an asshole I knew he was playing the friend card to be around her! The jerk!
