This was another adorable volume. This time focusing on some fighting at the start which is a nice surprise but soon we jump right back into marriage. And everyone telling her she has to show more affection to her husband. It's pretty funny and some great laugh out loud moments (and some sexy ones) I love this series.
This series is becoming a coin of two sides. One side is the mystery of Tsukasa is and this feels off and not well placed. The first half of this volume was pretty weak. Then the story just stops and goes back to the slice of life stuff, which is where the strength of this story lies. The second half was super cute and fun.
Nasa's students begin filming the horror movie in the abandoned mansion, but Nasa and Tsukasa are mostly there to check out the furniture. As soon as the door closes and the lights go out, the students are freaked out by the headless suit of armor and giant worms chasing them, but Tsukasa is cool as a cucumber. She grabs a sword and starts fighting back! She nearly ruins the movie except for her unbelievable swordsman skills, and her dual with the mastermind behind all of it. After their harrowing adventure, Kaname convinces Tsukasa that she has to match Nasa in showing affection, including being able to say "I love you," which Tsukasa thinks is the height of embarrassing.
This volume is a huge departure from the other volumes, and I absolutely adored it! I loved seeing Tsukasa in action with her fighting skills and being able to save Nasa, but I also appreciated the second half of this volume focusing on her as well and her difficulty with matching Nasa in affection. We spent a lot of time with Tsukasa in this volume and in signature Hata form, got some interesting breadcrumbs as to who she is, but also rooted for her as she was vulnerable and super cute with her husband. Hata continues to bate us with adorableness between these two lovebirds while getting us to stick around for something we know is going to be juicy and worth the payoff.
