Aspen Pack #5

Marked in Flames

Rate this book
My mate rejected me, leaving me broken. I refuse to let that happen again—even if Steele is the one for me.

I hold the power of flame and future in my hands, but I know the world is watching. Waiting for us to fall.

The truth and lies that bind the Aspen Pack together are crumbling and I am to bear witness to its fate.

I know the Enforcer of the Aspens is my mate.

Yet neither of us want what fate decrees.

So, we’ll fight side by side and ignore the burning attraction between us.

Only when a traitor rocks the foundation of all we know, we might not have a choice to who we cling to in despair.

The vampires were only the pawns in this war.

The demons are on their way.

And if we’re not careful, the Aspen Pack could lose someone that breaks them.

And I could lose my mate.

Again.

Is it the end of The Aspen's or a New beginning?
I gobbled this baby up in one day, there's so much going on.

Jade is a Fire Witch and has come to help the Aspen Pack with their fight against the Vampire's. She has felt a pull towards Steele, the Aspen Pack Enforcer, since they met but she fights it with everything she has because long ago she had a mate that rejected her and she refuses to go through that pain again. But that's just fine with Steele because he doesn't want a mate either, but the Moon Goddess has the last say about things and there's a reason these two have such a connection.

While I am said to say that Marked in Flames is the end of the Aspen pack series (as of now), I can say that the ending was satisfying and I was thrilled to have gotten to enjoy the story of these amazing shifters and the Witches that made their packs so rich and full of life. Jade and Steele being the final story to this series made perfect sense and I enjoyed watching them find their way into happiness and to defeating their enemy once and for all. Jade is the type of solitary witch that keeps her distance from others for their protection, not because she doesn’t crave the love and connection of others. She’s always wanted to belong and be loved by another, but her differences have kept her apart and now that she knows it’s even more likely to be uncovered, she has no hope of her fated mate ever being hers. Steele doesn’t ever plan to mate, much less with the fiery Witch that has grabbed him by the heart from the moment they met, but the more he gets to know her, especially seeing her battling again and again to protect his friends and family, the harder she is to resist. Their passion burns bright at all times, but its only when they finally give into the chemistry that the fire threatens to burn the world and then once they admit their feelings that fire begins to mellow into a manageable warming glow. While I can honestly say I cried through probably MOST of this story, I loved every second of it and just might have to plan a re-read over the holidays when I have more time off work to do that. I am truly hoping that some time in the (not too far off) future Ms. Ryan decides to return to the world of the Pacific Packs and allow the rest of her beloved characters to have their matings, I loved this series and the finale is worth every moment. Another fantastic ending Carrie Ann and I thank you for putting all your energy, heart, and soul into sharing this story with us all!

This is the fifth book in this series. They are better read in order. However, it is also part of a larger series and about all the packs. This book is about Jade and Steele. Jade is a elemental fire witch and Steele is the enforcer for the aspen pack. They both claim not to want the each other while knowing they are mates. But is that they don’t want a mate or is it that they have both been hurt in the past. The moon goddess chose them for each other for a reason. They may not understand it now but they will. The pack is still under attack. The demon has a plan and he wants Jade as part of that plan. When he can’t get her to cooperate, he decides to try to attack Steele. Will he succeed in his plan or will it turn out to be his downfall? Both Jade and Steele have their reasons for not wanting to complete the mating bond. It isn’t that they don’t like each other or want to be with each other. Past trauma plays a large part. The moon goddess has been pushing people to mate lately to protect her children. This time will be no different. The two maybe forced into mating but both want it deep down. Jade has a secret that she fears will affect the way everyone sees her. But that same secret could be what saves Steele. Steele and Jade are perfect for each other. This book is the last book for the Aspen pack. I hope to continue to read more about all these characters in other books. Fantastic job Carrie.

Omg, the feels! And this had better not be the end of the series. Between that ending, and all the HEA's that are left for the pack? I feel like I need to mourn the end of this whole universe. Between the Redwoods, Talons, Centrals, and Aspens? They became my friends. I love interconnected series and these were some of the best. And the traitor? It wasn't who I thought and was glad for it, but sad nonetheless.

I take it back! This book made the series! Such a good way to the series. Even though we were left with a pretty big cliffhanger.😫 but there’s more to come, and I’m mad about it.

Marked in Flames🔥

Marked in Flames in the final, for now, book in the Aspen Pack series. Steele is the Pack Enforcer and he’s attracted to Jade, the fire witch. Unfortunately, neither is in the market for a mate…perhaps their past has forged their paths or perhaps they have secrets which are best kept secret🤫

Suffice to say, there was lots of action, heaps of suspense while we waited to discover who the traitor was as well as some teary and happy moments❣️

If we get more books down the track, I’m excited to read them if they do. Definitely recommend this series, it’s great and fast-paced😍

Marked in Flames is the ending book for The Aspen Pack.
But also has hints of a new series to come.
This book centers on Jade and Steele.
Jade is the coven fire witch and Steele is the Pack Enforcer.
Both dedicated to those they protect. And neither looking nor wanting a mate.
Steele and Jade have both had tremendous lose in the past. And are weary and unreceptive to bonding with a mate.
Their story is a slow burn. But their relationship grows and develops so beautifully.
And in a complex matter. Each of them willing to sacrifice and do anything in their power to protect the pack, the coven and each other. So no matter the way they bonded, it was always meant to be.
But the reason for it made the mating that just more special and meaningful.
Their connection is so special and unbreakable. No matter what obstacles and situations they face.
I loved both these two amazing and special characters.
Their loyalty and love for their friends and towards each other was so beautiful and awe inspiring.
They also filled the pages with spice and sexiness. They had so much lust for one another.
But the passion that was there sealed the deal for me in knowing that they absolutely belonged together.
With their rocky personal relationship there is the vampires, the bad humans, Lily and Malpas to contend with too.
I was on the edge of my seat and holding my breath through many parts of the book.
Trying to read as fast as I could to get to the next page.
The revelation that was uncovered left me stunned. My heart broke and I was saddened deeply.
But no matter what was discovered every single one of the Aspen Pack was a hero to me.
Ms. Ryan delivered a captivating and gripping final book.

My review is written voluntarily after listening to the audio version of this book.

Jade and Steele
I hate to think that with this book we have reached the end of an era, I have so loved getting to know all the members of the Aspen pack. This book is primarily Steele's story but it does bring us up to date with all the other members of the pack too. You cannot enjoy this book if you have not listened to or read the four earlier books in the series.

As the final book in the Aspen Pack series, we finally get Steele and Jade's story, she's a fire witch with a secret whilst Steele is the enforcer of the Aspen Pack. These two acknowledge that they are mates but both reject the idea of completing a mating bond. Each has their own reasons for this but destiny and fate make it impossible for them to continue denying their attraction or the necessity to bond.

When Steele's life is on the line and the only way to save him is to complete their bond everything changes and each finds they can make a future together. But first, they have to ensure the pack's survival and to do this they will have to identify the traitor in their pack who has been aiding the demon. During the final battle, the traitor is revealed, it was someone no one would ever have suspected. The battle is one when all the packs come together to defeat the Demon and the vampires he controls.

All the loose ends are tied up, all their enemies both old and new are dealt with and with the final epic battle, the future of the pack is assured but they will have paid a heavy price by then.

The narration of this book/series by Kit Swann and Aiden Snow has been excellent and has lifted an already wonderful story to an even higher level.

Marked in Flames is the final book in the Aspen Pack series and we finally get Jade and Steele's story! The last few books, there have been hints of what was to come with them, so I was excited to finally get this book. This book will be hard to follow if you haven't read some of the earlier books as it concludes everything they've been fighting against and for throughout this series.

Jade is a fire witch whose best friend is a member of the Aspen pack. She is closely aligned with them, and working to help them, but can't really join them since doing so wouldn't allow her to really use her magic as she needs to in order to really help them. Steele is the enforcer for the Aspen Pack and has a pull to Jade. They both tend to dance around each other, but each have their own reasons for wanting and needing to reject the possible mate bond that exists between them. However fate has other plans in store for them.

Marked in Flames had so much going on in order to wrap up the series, that it took a while for me to really feel the connection between Steele and Jade. At the same time that I loved some of these action-packed scenes and getting to see the characters I've loved from the previous books, I also really needed more of Jade and Steele together during the course of the story- it didn't feel like we got enough of them. I've rated Marked in Flames 3.5 stars.

I loved the very last chapter and the hint that we get of what a new series might involve - can't wait to read what will come next and excited to get that couple's story!

I can’t believe this is the end of the Aspen Pack series! It made me both super excited and sad when I got my hands on Marked In Flames. As always, I recommend reading a series in order, Marked really is one that you should read the previous books, not only for the back story, but because the characters are often in most of the books and they are so much fun to read.

Jade and Steele, they are so similar to one another, I think that is why they bump heads so much. Both of them have their own reasons for not wanting the mate bond, but as they saw, you can’t change your fate. As the book progresses we get more of Jade’s past before she befriends Dara and Sawyer, and I think that was really needed to give reason for the way she is. And even more so, why Steele is the way he is.

Jade is a fire witch, Steele is the Aspen Pack Enforcer, this doesn’t make for a happily ever after…or does it? Marked In Flames is definitely a slow burn romance, but one that makes it so worth it in the end. The connections between each of the couples in the series, and the pack as well, really make the series one to come back to. When Jade and Steele finally give in to one another, the meaning behind it makes the entire wait of the slow burn book oh so worth it.

C.A.R will forever be a Queen in the author world, no one will ever be able to tell me otherwise. I very much hope to see more of this world, even if it’s just in a spin off series.

**Audiobook Review**

Oh, how I’ve grown attached to this pack! Each book has grown this series and I have been waiting for the conclusion. “Marked in Flames” is an action packed, emotional and thrilling conclusion to the series and I loved every minute.

Jade had been hurt in the past by the one who she thought was her mate. Years later, she still refuses to answer the need that her soul is telling her. Steele, the Aspen Pack enforcer, is her mate. Steele had a rough past by losing his parents at a young age and he’s determined to never go through that. But the evil one who has been after the pack is determined to end them and they are brought together to finally end him.

I was enraptured with Jade and Steele from the beginning. I could feel their chemistry as I listened and I loved them so much. They both had been through so much and it brought them together. Both understood what it was like to lose and it brought them together. Their love for each other and the pack shined through as they fought the evil that was coming for them. This was a great ending and I’m hoping we’ll get more in the future.

I have loved listening to Aiden Snow and Kit Swann bring this series to life. The passion they brought to their performances made this story even more special. Aiden and Kit balance each other out so well and make for an amazing audio experience.

Great final book in the Aspen Pack series! Jade is a fire witch with a closely guarded secret that makes her more deadly than other witches. Steele is the Enforcer for the Aspen Pack. Steele and Jade know they are potential mates but fight their attraction to each other. Steele and Jade believe they can satisfy their sexual needs without giving into the need to bond. What happens when the mating is forced upon Steele and Jade? Can Jade overcome her past heartache and open her eyes to a future with Steele? Will Steele embrace his future with his firery mate? Can Jade and Steele find who has been betraying the Aspen pack from within? Will Jade, Steele, the Aspens, and their allies finally defeat the demon and vampires that have waged war against them? I loved Marked In Flames by Carrie Ann Ryan! Jade and Steele are an amazing couple with firery, hot chemistry. Steele and Jade are perfectly matched as a couple who are stubborn, loyal to family and friends, protective of those they love, and willing to stand by each other in the face of danger. Carrie Ann Ryan did leave a little nugget to where the future may lead, but that is a story for another day. I would highly recommend getting Marked In Flames and all the other books in the Aspen Pack series by Carrie Ann Ryan. I received an ARC copy of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Our Survival!!!

Jade, a Fire Witch whom we've met in the previous book HARBORED IN DARKNESS , she once had a mate but the latter rejected her and she wasn't about to let history repeat itself. Even though she knew that the Enforcer of the Aspen Pack was her mate. Their fist encounter was a very interesting one. She doesn't want to be apart of the Aspen Pack cause she knew that something was broken within the bonds. There was still a traitor among them.

In spite of her resistance, her body was betraying her whenever Steele was around. She didn't know what it was about the sexy as sin man that called to her magic like it did but she needed to help her friend Dara and the rest of the new Coven find what was hurting the pack. Even if it meant pushing her mate away.

Steele, the Enforcer of the Aspen Pack knew that the new Witch that joined the Coven was his fated mate but the stubborn woman kept him at arm's lengths. He could feel that she was hiding something very important that concerned his people. He was going to find out what it was cause he had to keep them all safe including his mate....Jade.

They both along with the Aspens's Alpha and the higher hierarchy knew that there was another traitor between them. They were going to do everything in their power to make that said person pay for their betrayal. When Steele found himself in the hands of the big new bad, Jade took the gloves off and fought for her mate.

She did the one thing she said she would never do in order to save Steele. Together they found the traitor and what a twist it was. Their enemies thought they had the upper hand but they soon realized how wrong they were.

It was a treat to catch up with previous characters even those from the other packs. The Redwoods , the Talons, the Centrals and the Aspens were well on their way of becoming one huge Pack. And they wouldn't have wanted it any other way

MARKED IN FLAMES is the fifth installment in Carrie Ann Ryan's ASPEN PACK series. Oh my what an incredible, breathtaking and exhilarating journey. I was on the edge of my seat from start to finish. I hate to see this series come to an end but I'm extremely happy to have taken the ride with these amazing characters. Mind-blowing job Carrie Ann Ryan ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

It was announced by Carrie Ann Ryan that she was bringing this series to a close. I took my time reading, absorbing, and enjoying every wonderful morsel of the story that brings a well deserved closure for some of my all time favorite characters. Ryan has written an emotionally heartfelt and beautiful ending to the Aspen Pack storyline. I have been with many of these characters from the beginning, as far back as the start of the Redwood Pack, and they all become beloved friends and family members. Even though Ryan has said this is the end she alludes to the possibility of a brand new beginning, someday, for the secondary characters with loose ends.

The Aspen Pack has a storied history that dates back to their former Alpha. Many who survived his leadership did not come out unscathed and carry physical as well as emotional scars. Pack enforcer Steele has lived through the torture and death of many of his friends and family. Because of this, he refuses to bond and claim his mate. His enforcer ties to this pack mates creates numerous complications that could bring death to a mate should something go wrong. It is too heave a burden to bear.

Jade is a very powerful fire witch. She carries with her her own secrets and a past that is just as painful as Steele's. Like Steele, she has no desire to bond with her mate but when unforeseeable circumstances arise, she is forced to solidify their connection and reveal her secret to save his life and the life of their pack members.

This story is the epic conclusion to the battle that has been building between the shifter, human, coven alliance and their evil demon, vampire, hybrid foes. We finally learn who the traitor is that has been working with Malphas. We find out what happens with the traitor Lily. The ending of this story was a roller coaster ride of filled with so many emotions. I am pleased to know the four packs may finally find the much needed peace and rest they all have earned.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Jade and Steele finally get their book. They are such a unique couple cause they have so much sass and similar personalities that they are kinda meant for each other. The moon goddess has really done a number on the two of them that is for sure. Wow! But they just click they are like 2 puzzle pieces that fit together. No matter how much they BOTH try to fight it, all the feelings and emotions that they have for each other. Fate and the moon goddess has other plans. This story is just filled with one curveball after another. But I love that we finally get to learn more about her history prior to meeting Dara and Sawyer. More importantly we get to learn about why Steele is the way that he is as well. Their histories has such a critical part in what makes them who they are today and how they move forward in the battles ahead. I love the banter that they have between the two of them, they call each other out on the bull they dish out. And with all the epic battle between good and evil, That has been going on throughout the series of books it’s just amazing to watch how the pack interacts and works together as a team. More importantly I’m just glad that Jade and steel finally got their happily ever after. I highly recommend this book it was absolutely fabulous.

I absolutely LOVED this book so much despite the fact that it's the last book in this amazing series so I'm not ready to say goodbye. Jade is a fire witch who tends to stay away from people (there are good reasons for that), and despite the fact that she knows her mate is our hero, Steele, she's not trying to go there. Steele is the Pack Enforcer who has gone through his own share of things that keep him from taking a mate despite the fact that he knows Jade is it for him so you already know they'll be dancing around each other. Luckily there's so much going on with the Aspen Pack that the slow burn didn't frustrate me even and I did indeed love how their relationship developed throughout. I will say they have sparks flying like crazy, the type of sparks that will burn the world down once they forge that bond so I definitely was cheering them on out loud while reading it. Of course there's the exciting suspense that keeps the twists coming in hot and adds an action filled kicker which is always a hit with me. I will say this once again, normally I don't read shifter romance but Carrie Ann Ryan is special and I could read her shifter romances all day everyday so I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

WOW. I think I will have to go back and read the first four books in this series! Jade and Steele are true mates despite the secrets each harbors. They know that they are soulmates and that they are meant to be together but past hurts and the secret Jade hides keeps them apart. The characters and story come alive under Carrie Ann Ryan's fingertips. You want these two to come together and the pack to survive no matter what comes their way and what a way! A demon recognizes what Jade is hiding and he wants her fire not just the fire she has as a fire witch but the firebird inside that she keeps hidden and he will do whatever it takes to get it.
He turns one of the pack into his evil consort and secretly uses another to thwart the pack's every move against him. To see all these diverse people come together as a cohesive unit to defeat a common enemy was a wonder to read. You can feel the pain and the triumph through the words of Carrie Ann Ryan. It was a wonderful way to end this series and yet keep you wondering about the future of this pack. A job well done and well written. An Author I will definitely add to my list of Authors to read.

I voluntarily reviewed "MARKED IN FLAMES" OMG!! What a excellent conclusion to this amazing series you can't get enough of so much mystery, lies angst, deceit, traitors, betrayal, steam, violence, danger, magic, twists that keeps you turning the pages.
Jade is a powerful Fire Witch her secrets are as painful as Steels the Enforcer of Aspen Pack & her true mate neither want the bond but as they get closer their chemistry is scorching hot, with enemies after the Pack & her he'll do everything in his power to save them.
Theres a war coming between the shifters, humans, demons & Vampire's Malphas wants to rule the world hell use his consort Lily to get what he wants she was a traitor to the Aspen Pack he now wants Jade the powerful Fire Witch.
I definitely recommend to get this riviting mysterious read Jade & Steele are forced to mate & connect with the Pack if they want to win this war what a rollerciaster ride the conclusion of this amazing series take you on it was an exceptional ending to this awesome series loved it.

Marked in Flames is book five in Carrie Ann Ryan’s Aspen pack series and it’s full of vampires and witches and wolves.. OH MY! The past four books have been leading up to an epic showdown between the pack and the demons, with action, steam, heart and serious magic Marked in Flames did not disappoint!

Jade is a fire witch who is fighting to help the Aspen pack and fighting the mating bond with the packs super sexy Enforcer, Steele. They have to work together to beat the demon Malphas, find the traitor in the pack and save not only the Aspen pack but the other packs as well.

Marked in Flames jumps from action and fighting to s*xy times seamlessly! Jade and Steels have crazy chemistry but keep fighting it, I loved that! Jade is such a touch, bada$$ chick, she really goes thru it here but comes out stronger. There are several times I gasped out loud including the last chapter!

“But I was stronger. Steele was stronger. And Malphas would rue the day he dared to ever f*cking hurt us.”

Thank you to the author for an ARC in exchange for an honest review, all thoughts are my own Marked in Flames has a pub date of September 25, 2023.

The Queen of the Shifters does it again
From the start she has thrown me back into the Aspen Pack and their fight with the evil that dogs them at every stage. This is Steele and Jades story, they know they can be more than friends/enemies or even lovers but while Jade needs to be outside the Pack, they cannot be more. And then all heck breaks lose. Who is the traitor? Who's selling their soul to the demon and why can't Jade see em? She's the most powerful fire witch ever to be and Steele is the Pack Enforcer, he should be able to feel the traitor but they both cannot. The twists and turns in this story has me reeling. Each one has blindsided me and made me gasp out loud.
If you're looking for a series that keeps you guessing, on the edge of your seat and has you engrossed in each romance, each story and each character, then Carrie Ann Ryan's Aspen Pack is the one for you. Where shifters are not who or what you think you are and where the Moon Goddess rights and few wrongs.
A must read.

This is the final book in the Aspen pack. I'm sad to see the end of this series. I was hoping for more characters to find their mates. I'll be honest and say I thought maybe there is hope for another book or novella or short story based on the Epilogue of this book, but who knows.

Steele is the Enforcer and his job is to make sure the pack is safe. Jade is keeping secrets from everyone about her powers. They are fated mates, but neither is willing to admit it, for their own reasons. When Steele is taken by the Demons only Jade can help him control what was done to him by mating with him. Neither she nor Steele wanted this to happen, but it has become a necessity.

Will their bond stand the test of time? Will their bond and the packs defeat the demons? THisis why we need more books.

Aiden Snow and Kit Swann have narrated this entire series. I have to admit these two are perfect together. He has that growly alpha voice and she has that sweet but strong feminine voice. And then she has the insane female voice. It all comes together in this book.

Jade is a witch who is more than willing to help out Steele and the Aspen Pack but that is where it ends. Even though he may be her mate she isn’t willing to accept that fact and once they ward off the evil that is surrounding the pack she will leave mate less and with her heart intact.

Steele is the enforcer for the Aspen Pack which means that he and Jade will have to work closely together to ensure the safety of everyone they care about. With his devastating past he is determined to deny the mate bond between them but when they find themselves in danger they realize that their bond might me the only thing that can save them.

Jade and Steele take us on an epic adventure filled with action, twists and an enduring love. Not only do we get to see the relationship between them unfold but we get to catch up with the other characters we know and love which makes this a fitting end to this wonderful series.

This is the last in the Aspen series and what a way to end this series! I have loved every story in this series but I think Jade and Steele's was my favourite. These two were broken thanks to their pasts and totally scared to accept their mating when they realised who they were to each other but they still kept gravitating back to each other. They were determined to protect their pack and find out who the traitor still amongst them was.

With Demon stepping up his campaign for the final battle they may not be able to fight their connection as their mating could make them stronger for what's to come. Once they ignite that flame will it burn everything to the ground or raise them up?

I am totally gutted this series is over but keeping everything crossed that we will still see more of these packs again in the future.

I was gifted a copy of this book by the Author and this is my honest opinion

I am a huge fan of everything that Carrie Ann writes, but my favorites will always be her Pack series - Redwood, Talon, & the Aspen Packs. There is a strong history woven throughout each of the series leading to the next. Such stories of love and redemption in each story within the series. Aspen is no different. They are coming back from a time when they were forsaken due to the past. I highly recommend reading them all.

Marked in Flames is Steele and Jade's story. They are mates who are not bonded. Both holding back from that bond for their own reasons, They will work together to find the traitor in the Aspen pack which when revealed is a head spinner for all. Working so closely will begin to tear down their resistance to each other. They will stand together along with the Aspen pack to face whatever comes their way. Their story is filled with action and love and all the feels. I loved every bit of it.

I give Marked in Flames 5 hearts!

5th book in the series
Narrator Aiden Snow & Kit Swann

This last book in the Aspen pack series follows Steele, the enforcer of the pack & Jade, an elemental fire witch. These two are mates but neither of them wants a mate, each for their own reasons. They can’t deny their attraction to each other, so they decide to date with the intention that’s all it will ever be.
Malthus, Lily & the vampires continue to attack the pack. Malthus feels the power Jade has & wants her to join them. He kidnaps her but she won’t join them.
Steele & the others rescue Jade.
In order to help protect Jade, her best friend, Sawyer, joins the pack.
Chase & Skye have their baby.
Since Jade won’t cooperate, Malthus kidnaps Steele. He turns Steele into a hybrid. Jade uses her unique magic to help save Steele.
The pack finds out who the other traitor is & it’s a shock. The traitor’s being controlled by Malthus & didn’t know what they were doing. When Malthus & the vampires come, the traitor redeems themselves by sacrificing themselves to save Chase.
Will Jade & Steele end up together? What will happen with Steele now that he’s a hybrid?
I thought this book was a great wrap up to the series. I liked Steele & Jade together. Both of them coming from painful pasts, it was nice to see them comfort & compliment each other.

Marked in Flames is the closing book for The Aspen Pack and while it draws together the stories and concludes the major story arc, it also hints a little at new beginnings and growth and the future. So while Carrie Ann Ryan is bidding farewell to the Aspens for the time being, I think there might be a few more stories to tell in the future.

Jade and Steele's story has been brewing. Jade is the coven fire witch and Steele is the Pack Enforcer. There are so many reasons for these two to resist the mating call. Both have lost before and neither want the bond to tie them. But this book develops their relationship beautifully and their story is complex and essential to the future of the Pack. I really fell for these two and their hesitance. Theirs is a slow burn with little on the page spice. But their connection is deep and their mating is blessed.

I've loved this series with the pack politics, hierarchy and relationships. The world is so complex and detailed with ties to other Packs and groups. You cannot help but be drawn in to the world and the mates within that. I was sad to see the story draw to a close. But it was done in a satisfying and non rushed way. Marked in Flames does justice to the Pack and these characters.

This is the first book I read in the series and I am regretting not starting the series sooner. I love nothing more than fated mates and when they try to fight fate it gets even more interesting. I loved getting to know Jade and Steele as it made easier to understand why they both were fighting the inevitable. It was easy to fall for them both especially Jade. My heart broke for her and I wanted her to get the love and care whe deserved. There chemistry was off the charts. It was great how things progressed. This read is an emotional rollercoaster that tugged at my heart strings. There were instances where I could not control my tears. I was so engrossed in the read that I finished it in a single sitting. Thanks to Carrie Ann and GiveMeBooks Promotion for the advanced copy of this amazing read.

I was pulled right into this story. The story has laughs, secrets, lies, suspense, danger, and heartbreak.

If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first
Etched in Honor (Aspen Pack #1)
Hunted in Darkness (Aspen Pack #2)
Mated in Chaos (Aspen Pack #3)
Harbored in Silence (Aspen Pack, #4)

This is Jade and Steele’s story. He’s the enforcer and she is a fire witch. She was mated before and it nearly destroyed her. She can feel the mating pull to Steele, but she knows she is going to ignore it. Steele knows that Jade is his mate, but he is not willing to claim her. When danger is surrounding them will they drawn have no choice but to mate in order to win the war? Will it destroy them in the end or will it be the thing that brings everyone together for a better future?

I highly recommend this book.

This is the final book of this series and I was a little sad to see the end. So where it can be read as a standalone book it is best if you read to rest of the books of this series in order so that one does not get lost with the relationships amongst the supporting characters as well as events that took place in previous books of the series that play an interictal part of this story.

So this is Stone and Jade's story. Two characters wrapped up in their own issues - abandonment/rejection issues for Jade and a strong sense of responsibility to the pack for Stone their chemistry that they have been fighting for a while is off the charts. Both characters were well written and strong with the events that take place around them.

Overall. this action packed read was a good final addition to this series that I would recommend to others.

Audio book review.
I enjoyed Steele and Jade’s story. This is an engaging tale that ends the Aspen Pack series. This is another journey that grabs your attention and does not let go. Jade and Steele are each strong in their own way and together there is no stopping them. Yet even with the strength that they have it may not be enough to stop the demon and his hordes.
The author weaves a good story that pulls you in. Giving you a roller coaster ride full of emotions and action. Not only do the main characters have a story but many of the supporting characters shine. Even though this book gives us the conclusion of the Aspen packs fight against evil I hope that this is not the last we get to see of the characters in this world. Once again narrators Aiden Snow and Kit Swann do a great job of bringing these characters to life and letting the listener get lost in the story.
