Lyle Nicholson was born in British Columbia Canada. His is the youngest of three sons born to a father who was a cook and mother who was a waitress.

His father, who died when Lyle was 15, was a story teller, something that Lyle adopted at an early age. His life would lead him to travels in Europe, then 5 years in a Monastery. He found he was not a good Monk, as poverty was easy - it was the chastity and obedience that was a stumbling block.

He left the Monastery in 1979, and met and married his wife in 1982. He would spend a few years working for companies, getting fired, starting business's that failed, until he finally started a sales agency that was a success. Lyle retired in 2011.

Retirement didn't work well for Lyle. His mind wanted to explore the regions he's experienced in both meditations and his extensive travels. This has resulted in the publication of one Novella, two Novels, and several free lance articles for magazines in Canada.

Lyle now resides in a small city in Western Canada where he continues to write his thrillers and mysteries with a twist.

20th August 2000 - while on holiday in Saint Lucia, the boat that her family have hired is attacked. It seems only daughter Melinda Cooper has survived. Then she contacts old friend Bernadette Callahan for help. On arrival Bernadette starts her investigation with the help of hired private investigators.
An entertaining modern crime story, well-written with its likeable and varied characters.
A prequel to this good series

Bernadette is one tough woman who follows her gut and believes in her dreams. This is a marvelous cast of characters in an original, intriguing, and fast-paced mystery that takes Bernadette from Canada to St. Lucia to help her friends free their kidnapped parents. Now what is next for our intrepid heroine? I am so looking forward to her next adventure. Excellently written - top of the line - and
Highly Recommended.

Brilliantly written crime drama that will keep the reader on the edge of their seat at times. Bernadette is determined to help her friends even if this puts herself in danger. The storyline is fast paced and the characters’ personalities, both main and secondary, have been well-developed. I loved the final chapters. Great read.

Bernadette is at it again. She is loyal to her friends, and unable to ignore a friend who needs rescuing or a crime that need solving. I love this series.

Follow a dream or her heart

Bernadette is about to enter the RCMP cadet training academy and receives the word that her friends’ parents have been abducted in Santa Lucia, in the Caribbean. She rushes to help but if she fails to return in time she loses her spot in the RCMP intake, if she gets involved in police investigation or any controversy, she will rejected for training. Her friend Melinda’s parents supported a wild and lonely, teenage Bernadette, she can’t let them down. This plot is full of twists and turns as the kidnappers use fraud, murder, assault and attempted murder to stay ahead of the police, private investigators and a determined Bernadette. If you enjoy lots of action, intrigue, humour and great characters this is the book to read.

The Bernadette Callahan books are fun mysteries. Bernadette is a RCMP. In this prequel, she ready to interview for the RCMP, but has an adventure with friends first. Of course, it involves murder, mystery, and her sleuthing skills. These are all fun, light mysteries.
