Finding Home

Rate this book
From romance author C.B. Noy, A sizzling small town, single mom, soulmate, romantic suspense.

Cate

My life wasn’t perfect. I’d been so desperate to find someone to love me that I latched on to the first man who ever showed any interest. Unfortunately, I ignored all the signs until I was nine months pregnant and on the run.

I escaped to a small town in Western Maryland, Mountain Grove. In order to keep myself and my son safe, I buried my secrets behind an impenetrable wall. That is until a tank of a man with amazing gray eyes, came to town and began to disassemble my lies—and my wall—brick by brick. With the body count riding, can I risk everything for a man who just might be my soulmate?

Gabriel

The Army was my life, until a near fatal injury blew apart any chance I had of following in my fathers footsteps. It was either ride a desk for the rest of my career or get out and build new dreams. So with the assistance of my three brothers, we started Quattro Security.

When I answered a call for help from an old friend, I never imagined that I’d find my forever in a pair of violet eyes and a body built for sin. But my girl was hiding from something—something dark and dangerous, and it was up to me to keep her safe from the hounds nipping at her heals. She was born to be mine, and I needed to bust through the barrier she erected around herself before it was too late.

With the help of some seriously awesome and amazing friends, and the support of her family, the Mountain Grove series was born.

Finding Home

Well, this series is turning into a rabbit hole. Loved book 1 and enjoyed Finding Home just as much. I’m not normally a big insta love person, but this just works and the suspense parts of the story is great. I didn’t have any moments while reading this book of having thoughts about if things were believable, just put on my seat belt and off I went.
Cate and Gabriel’s story is such a good one, and it kept me turning the pages!

Finding Home (Mountain Grove series) by CB Noy is Cate's story. She is Hayden's bestfriend from book 1 Coming Home. It is not a necessity to read it before you read this story. If you haven't read it you need to, I loved it. If you have read the first book than you know Cate has a big secret and is extremely skittish. Now we know what bought her to Mountain Grove. Boy it was something and I would have never guessed her story. Gabriel had came to town to help Caleb the Chief of Police. When he walks into the diner where Cate works, he falls for her instantly. He can tell something is going on with her because his training can spot the signs. As he gets closer to her, she too can't fight the attraction. When she finally tells him her secret, Gabriel makes it his personal mission to save her and her child. Cate and Miller are his future and he will do whatever he has to to keep her safe. I have to say I loved this story more than the first book and I am even more excited about the next book. When all is revealed I was left speechless. Once again I didn't see that coming. Gabriel is everything a woman would want in a man and he has 3 other brothers. Hopefully they too will get a book. A real page turning with lies, betrayal and secrets. An emotional rollercoaster ride that almost gave me whiplash. And like a rollercoaster ride, when it ends you are left with a smile on you face. 5 stars for me.

I am speechless. This book was so utterly fantastic. Can I give it more than 5 stars? It had me hooked from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. I fell for Gabe in the last book and wanted his story asap! I am glad he was next. This book did not disappoint. He fell for Cate & Miller instantly and everything he did was for her and her son. He was so Uber-protective and alpha. Holy crap…. There was romance, suspense, hilarious moments and twists you will never, ever see coming. Can Gabe keep her safe? When can I get his brothers books? When is Daisy’s book. You better get to writing….now go one click, you won’t be disappointed!

This author does not pull any punches!!

Cate grew up with a tortured past and is on the run from someone who won’t let her live if they find her and her sweet baby Miller.

Gabriel is tattooed and all alpha. He will not let anyone come between him and the woman he claims as his. He’ll kill to protect her.

A suspensful, twisty, steamy insta-love story that DOES NOT QUIT!! I had a quite few Holy Shizell moments!! This is the 2nd book by C.B. Noy and they just keep getting better and better. She’s definitely one to watch!!

"A fantastic follow up to her debut novel, C.B. Noy knocked Cate and Gabriel out of the park.

I loved how Gabriel loved Cate, he was all in right from the start, and how he just took to Miller and they were welcomed by his family. Their story has all of what us romance readers love, romance, love, action and some pretty steamy scenes.

I can’t wait for Kolt and Daisy!" ~Stephanie

"Oh my goodness, get ready to buckle up for another great romantic suspense story from C.B. Noy. Cate is on the run and finds refuge in Mountain Grove for herself and her son. We met Gabriel in Coming Home (Book 1) and he lives up to his ""don't mess with me"" demeanor except with Cate. Cate turns him into a protective, swoony italian whispering man that will protect what is his.

I am in love with the del Toro Family and the way they take Care and Miller into the fold. You will gasp, with 'on the edge of your seat' action and sigh and swoon with the characters interaction.

I'm so invested in Mountain Grove and this series and can't wait for Daisy and Kolt to hopefully get their HEA." ~Cindy

The second book by C.B. Noy does not disappoint! Right from the first page, you are pulled into the story of Cate and her mysterious past. Where did she come from? How did she end up in Mountain Grove? And why the heck is she scared of the sexy Gabriel del Toro the second she lays eyes on him?
Can we talk about Gabe for a minute? *swoon* There is something about a leading alpha male who is covered in tattoos that does it for me, I think they are the best, the sexiest characters out there and I don’t apologize for it. I said what I said. He comes in hard and fast and falls instantly for the Cate and her infant son. Before you know it, the whole del toro clan is involved and I have to admit, I fell in love with every member of the entire family. C.B Noy has a way of writing side characters that make you want to get to know them deeper, I hope to see more stories come out of some of them.
I really enjoyed this book, grab a cup of coffee, get comfortable and find out who Cate is and who or what she really is running from! There are a couple twist and turns that will keep you on your toes! This is the second book in the series and man, I’m already looking forward to what’s coming next!!

Fantastic! I think this one was even better than the first book. Instant attraction, constant suspense, romance, steam, humor, amazing family and friends, tears, danger, and excitement round out this amazing story. Noy also does a fabulous job of throwing in some twists that will have you gripping your Kindle just a bit tighter – complete edge-of-your-seat goodness!

I loved the interaction between the characters, especially Gabriel with little Miller – several aww moments. The unconditional love and support he showed Cate when everything was crashing down around her was just everything! He’s a super protective alpha male that will tear the world apart for those he loves. Poor Cate was so overwhelmed with everything after struggling on her own for so long, seeing her be able to share her burden and see Gabe’s devotion to her and Miller was like being wrapped in a comfy blanket.

I loved Gabe’s family and the support they showed him and Cate. Definitely a few teary-eyed moments here and several funny moments between him and his brothers. It was amazing to see Cate get the maternal and familial support and attention she never had growing up. She had been through so much in her twenty-five years and to suddenly have everything she’d always dreamed and longed for at her fingertips, I just loved how it all came together in the end. They fought hard for their HEA and it was well deserved for both of them.

I totally fell in love with this awesome family and I cannot wait to see more of them in future books.

This book was a yes for me! This instalove story where Cate is running from a dark and tortured past meets Gabriel who was a born protector and their subsequent relationship was perfection. The love story was good, but the freakin’ plot line and curve balls of this book are what made it fan-freakin-tactic. I literally read it in a day- could not stop. Well done, C.B. Noy.

C.B Noy has hit it out of the park AGAIN with this book. When both characters were introduced in Coming Home I knew I would love Gabriel and Cate and their story would be epic but I could never have anticipated this!!!

Gabriel had me at the big tattooed man who was Italian and then he spoke Italian and I was done. Cate had so many secrets and her dedication to her son and keeping him safe was what every mother would do. From hello Gabe knew he needed to protect her and felt an instant connection and she felt the same way although fighting it a little - it was Home when they were together.

Lots of little plot twists and turns that were a little shocking. But as always a HEA!

Their story has everything you could want - romance, sex, action and an amazing HEA! Can’t wait to return to Mountain Grove for Kolt and Daisy’s story!

It's hard to believe it's only the second book in this series. Kudos to the author. This is the story of Gabe and Cate. It was a super easy and quick read. The twists and turns keep you on the edge enough without the risk if getting lost. It just hooks you even more.

I have been patiently waiting for Gabe and Cate’s book because I knew it was going to consume me.
Gabe was just the best Alfa and I loved how he was with Cate.
The chemistry between these two just seeped off the pages.
This book had everything, suspense romance and twists, and turns and an ending I did not see coming.
I wish I could get this more than five stars!

Gabriel and Cate

Holy Gezz!! C.B. Noy you are killing me here!
I was so excited to read this book and now that I have finished it, I am heart broken! I need to wait and read series when they are all complete because waiting for the next one, especially this series, is killing me!

Gabriel came into town to lend a helping hand to Caleb with some protective services but he didn't plan to see someone he wanted for the rest of his life to walk before his eyes.
Cate, hiding from a past and just trying to live her life quietly under the radar found herself working at a small town restaurant and an entire town that fell in love with her. She didn't need for anything until she finally opened up her heart and let down her walls.

Oh boy, now we wait for "Already Home" book 3, Kolt and Daisy but I sure hope we see Rico and River somewhere down the line!

Every time Gabriel del Toro walked into a scene I had AC/DC’s Back in Black pounding through my brain. I don’t know what it is about an uber protective hulk of a bad boy that just sets me off but man, Gabe is all that.

Finding Home finally gives you Cate’s story. And what a story is was!!! From a truly horrible childhood to finding out that your babies father is….well, not so great and leaving everything behind to escape….lets just say Cate has had it rough for a while. Until she finds Mountain Grove. For once in her life she feels safe…ish.

From the first moment Gabe took one look into Cates violet eyes he knew two things. She was hiding something and that she was his. His to protect and he sure as hell was going to figure out what she was running from.

Dang, you gotta love a guy that knows what he wants.

As with the previous book in this series, Finding Home has Ms Noy’s signature snark, sizzling insta attraction and a twist you won’t see coming.

I’m still mind blown at how well C.B. has burst into Romamcelandia like a boss with just these two fabulous books. I’m in awe of her talent and am here for this amazing ride!

I loved book one, and there is no sophomore slump here! Intrigue from the opening page twists throughout the book. Cate is a mystery to solve, and sexy Gabe, you will need to read to find out. I am looking forward to more from Mountain Grove.

I love being able to follow a new writer through a series and see the growth in the characters and storyline. It just keeps getting better and better, drawing the reader in and holding strong through all the pages. Emotions are high as Cate worries of for the safety of her and her litte guy, but also the many people who have stepped up and gave her love.

Cate came to this little town looking to rebuild and hide from the New York Italian Mafia, which she has never told anyone about. Feeling loved is not something she is used to thanks to her absent father and her controlling mother. She thought she found that once with Vince, but quickly learned he was not the man she needed or wanted. Finding herself in the wrong place at the wrong time, led to quick action and constant looking over her shoulder, constantly holding her secrets and telling more lies.

Gabe saw Cate on his initial visit to this small town where his best friend has taken the lead on the sheriff department. He was drawn to her from the beginning, those gorgeous violet eyes and her skittish behaviour. Gabe comes from a big family, full of protectors who have all been involved in the military in some way, now running their own company. Getting Cate to give him her trust is a huge step, falling for Miller was the easiest step. He's determined to take her worries away too.

The suspense and the pain in releasing the claws of Cate's past grab all your attention. The feeling of home isn't necessary where you are but who you are with. Cate has learnt that following her heart and letting the right people in can give you a home you have never know. Having the best support system can give you life to the fullest.

I can't wait for the next installment of the series.

I’m blown away by Finding Home and C.B. Noy and for those who don’t know her this is only her second novel and from what I have read I predict an amazing career as an author ahead for her. This is book 2 in The Mountain Grove Series and this is tattooed pure alpha Gabriel (Gabe) and single mum Cate’s emotional and full of twists and turns journey.
I knew from the moment I met Gabe in book one that his story was going to be special, I knew he needed a very special woman to bring him to his knees and Cate is that woman.
It was instant love for Gabe, he fell immediately for Cate and her baby son Miller and when she needed protection he was just the man for the job, in fact he would call in old favours and even kill to protect her and her baby…..
Can Gabe keep Cate and Miller safe, one click to find out.
This book has it all, it’s full of love and passion, it’s full of sizzling chemistry and witty banter it’s full of twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat, it has wonderful characters and it’s well written but what took this book to another level was watching the bonds that Cate formed with Gabe and his family and that means more books from Mountain Grove. Great addition to the series.

Cate was pregnant when she ran from the man she realized was not who he seemed. Trying to stay under the radar, she has a new identity and has quickly fallen in love with the small town of Mountain Grove, Maryland. When Gabriel del Toro shows up in town to help her best friend and her partner, Cate is intrigued by the man who radiates alpha male.

Gabriel knows Cate is his game changer. She and her young son are under his protection, he plans to eased into a life with him in it. This all escalates when the reason for her running looks to have found her. Can she trust Gabriel to keep them safe or will it all be for naught?

Loved this, what a terrific way to start a series. Gabriel is pure alpha male and I liked that Cate had a backbone that she didn't let Gabriel just take over. Gabriel's family is a hoot, can't wait for the Quattro Security series that has his brothers in it. Fantastic.

These two, OOOOO the tension and love between Gabriel and Cate I absolutely loved it! Gabe was just the right amount of pushy to get Cate to realize what she wants. Gabe gives off the protective alpha vibe and I totally loved every minute of it! After running from her past, being super aware of her surroundings for so long and being a single mom Cate is exhausted but she doesn’t give up because the alternative of what could happen if she lets her guard down can be life altering. Gabe steps in, willing to protect Cate and Miller with everything he has, I mean who doesn’t want that! C.B. Noy captured the perfect relationship between the two. There’s plenty of suspense, heartbreaks, and aww moments that you just die for! Definitely recommend and cant wait for the next one in the series to be released, congratulations to another fantastic read C.B. Noy!

This is the 2nd book to the Mountain Grove series and let me tell you what, I loved Caleb and Hayden but Gabe and Cate are even better.

Gabe came to Mountain Grove to help Caleb out with some Ex trouble his girl was having (see coming home) and little did he know he wouldn’t be leaving.

Gabe is such a bada$$ but also is just so sweet to Miller and Cate. To see Cate finally open up and explain why she always looks like she is watching her back made me so happy. This book has some mafia drama but definitely has a happy ending.

I cannot wait for the 3rd book to come out because I need Daisy to heal and Kolt to finally make his move!!

I couldn’t get past 36%.

Looking back, I should’ve known after the first book when I was more interested in the secondary characters’ stories. The writing just isn’t for me. The instant attraction between the main characters was okay, but it felt contrived.

There’s a lot of telling instead of showing—describing the plot rather than letting it unfold naturally through dialogue and action. Ultimately, it made the story feel flat.
