How could this be?

Noelle decides to go on the journey of finding her sister. In the process, she finds a whole lot more over the Christmas holiday.
A twist...a turn...the unexpected. Noelle can’t believe what she’s found.
Of all the things she finds, she never expected to find love. That is until Jasper Patterson sweeps her off her feet. But even Jasper seems too good to be true.
Will Noelle get the answers her heart so deeply desires, or will she be left empty-hearted around the Christmas holiday?

My thoughts: This is a nice little Story to read while you are waiting for food to cook or take a break from socializing during the holidays. The dialogue was semi-formal and reminded me of The Babysitters Club series I used to watch in the 90s. This is labeled as inspirational but I switched it to Christian fiction because she talked about the Holy Spirit and God a lot throughout the story. The plot is super thin. First we have 2 best friends Natalie and Noelle I hope they were both December babies. They are currently in college Noel is graduating a semester early but she is 23 and they both have crushes on each other's cousins one older and one younger. Noelle is putting in job applications and literally the day after she gets an offer for a job she calls a realtor so she can buy a house. Just let it happen. And in the way these micro series is always go there's always an event near the end of the book that is a major plot change and I have to read the next book to find out what happens. Even though this story is super short the advance I've shared in my review all happened within the first couple chapters there is a law of other events happening in this short story. So even though the plot is thin and the dialogue is Cheesy this author has packed a lot of substance within these few pages. Looking forward to the rest of the series although I don't know why Inn is in the title, I was expecting an Inheritance Trope or something.
Recommend to others: Maybe. It's too soon to tell, but it seems like a decent palate cleanser if you’re into Christian Fiction.

Memorable Quotes: Natalie groaned, tightening her arms around her body when Noelle thought her arms couldn't go further. “The weather is dismal, Noelle. Even much more when snowing.” “While I appreciate an artificial tan from the heat, I don’t want to become a loaf of bread by morning. Probably best if we keep the room cool, Natalie.” They had arguments like that every year when winter turned the skies gray with gloom. Natalie preferred the warmth, and the room became so warm that it was close to the temperature of the old bakery a few yards from Noelle’s house. “Just for today,” Natalie huffed, disappearing behind the thin curtain that served as their closet. Noelle worked on her phone, checking the applications she’d sent over the summer. A lot of her cold pitches had been rejected already, and she was feeling like all hope was lost. Most employers were not seeking to employ fresh graduates because they wanted someone who had experience. Noelle wondered how she would ever get experience without working first.
Natalie left the bed and turned on the switch to the fluorescent light above. In the harsh light, she looked more like an angel than anything else. Blonde hair that almost looked white framed her face on all sides. Deep blue eyes that reminded Noelle of the sea-foam painting her grandfather presented her on her twelfth birthday. Her best friend looked too delicate to become a physical therapist. They were complete opposites even in their appearance. Where Natalie had almost platinum blonde hair and delicate features, Noelle was dark-haired. Not brown nor yellow. But a little in-between. A trait she inherited from her father. With piercing green eyes and a petite build, she looked much more like her mother.
Noelle was set to resume work the very next day, and true to Ivan's word, her new supervisor was very strict. Although he seemed like a good person, she had spotted a Bible on his desk so she was even more certain that he was a good person. She just made a mental promise to herself that she would her utmost best to make sure she did nothing to cause him to doubt her or her abilities.
Noelle returned the laugh, but hers was full of sarcasm and for the second time that evening she shook her hands at him. “I will try my best. Perhaps we should pray about it. Nothing better than giving a gift by the inspiration of God. That is a gift you will be sure they need.” “Great idea,” Raphael agreed, taking a sip of his black coffee. Noelle still tried to understand how he drank it like that with no sugar or cream. Not that she had a sweet tooth or anything, but she was incapable of stomaching anything bitter. It was why she never had any sort of familiarity or preference for alcohol. Apart from her religion keeping her from indulging, she struggled to understand why people drank it like that. It was just bitter and hot. But Raphael’s coffee wasn’t the only thing she was thinking of as she watched him. “It is really admirable what you are trying to do, and I commend you for it. In fact, you have just given me an excellent lesson.” Raphael looked up at her with a questioning gaze and without the need for words, Noelle understood his curiosity and confusion.
Noelle hated being that person, but rejecting the house outright did not make her a picky person, right? “It couldn’t possibly be difficult to locate such a house. I have to say this right now so we won’t waste each other’s time. No. Definitely not this” The other woman frowned. “you won’t even go inside?” Noelle lifted her hands in surrender as she shook her head, “I fear no demons because he who is in me is greater than he who is in the world. But I also believe we should let sleeping dogs lie.” Her brows furrowed, and she pointed to the building, “I am not religious, but did you just imply that house is haunted by demons?” Noelle sighed, “Miss Hastings, I hate to be that person, but look at this house. Why would you even bring me here? I asked for a nice property I could move into. I would need a fortune apart from the money required to purchase the property to renovate and furnish it.”
Noelle graduated from college early and when she went home, she didn't have a job, but she had a dream. After she got home, she had a job offer, and it would be enough, so she could buy her own home. She got along great with her parents, but she felt it was time to be independent, and start her adult life. She found a home, that she bought, and her parents threw her a little celebration. During it, she discovered she had a sister. It blew her world apart. Her best friend went to see her at work and talked to her, because Noelle wanted nothing to do with her family. After their talk, Noelle thought about who she was, and who her parents were, and made the decision that was right for her. This is the start of the Boothbay Harbor series. I received an ARC from Coral Harbor.
First book is an introduction to Noelle and her life as it currently is now. She is an early graduate of her college class and is seeking employment. She received an offer and is now employed. She has moved out of her parent's home and is on her own in her new home, which is nearby her parents. She was at her parents' home when she overheard her aunt get haughty with her mom. She stopped to listen on the other side of the doorway and found out she has a sibling. Her first reaction was screaming and yelling at her parents, obviously didn't think before she reacted and after running home and thinking things through she came back some days later and is now going in search of her said sister.
Received an early copy for my honest and voluntary review.
Noelle graduated and went home for Christmas. She got a call from a start up company and got the job. Now it was time to move out and declare her independence. When her family has a celebration for her, she learns a long kept secret. Love all the references to God and the scriptures. Great beginning to this new series by Coral Harper. She leaves us with a big cliffhanger at the end leaving us wanting more. Can’t wait for the next book.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am leaving this review voluntarily.
This is book 1 in the Boothbay Harbor series. What a great page turner from the get go! Upon graduating college, Noelle decides to spread her wings and find a place of her own. During all this, she gets a bombshell dropped on her. She has a sister she never knew she had! Talk about having your life turned upside down! This is the beginning to a great new series! Coral Harper does not disappoint, and this is no exception!!
Cute story with many triumphs for her at her age. To be doing adult things. Then news comes to her and all goes crazy and she acts like a brat and the world revolves around her. Maturity just went out the window.
This is such a delightful and touching story that moves your heart. The love and concern the characters show to one another through a crisis is awesome.
book 1 of 6. Boothbay Harbor series. through KU. out November 12, 2022. two-hour literature & fiction. religious romance. holiday fiction. i will read more from this series soon.
If I had the physical copy of this book, or maybe the Kindle version, it might have a higher rating. The audible version was read by AI and was actually painful to listen to.
This is the first of a series in this Christian fiction set. Angie's is venturing out on her own . She kinda seems dumb. Not smart. Too many disjointed
