Flash to the rescue!
The Good Shepherd is a novela by Donna Ball part of her Dogleg Island Mystery series. It is the perfect Christmas story for mystery lovers who are fond of stories about female law enforcement and service dogs. The Good Shepherd has all the elements of a great Christmas story, Anew mom, her baby, a church Chtistmas pageant with children actors telling the story of the first Christmas and with a little poetic liberty, the star of the show, Flash, a border collie rescue turned police/ service dog, shepherding his little shepherds and their stuffed sheep around the manager.
Donna Ball gives Flash so much personality you would swear his thoughts written as part of the narrative, is really how a dog would reflect on small town antics! Flash definitely steals the show in this special edition of Donna Ball's wonderfully cozy mysteries series.
If you haven't already met Flash and the citizens of Dogleg Island, pick up book one Flash by Donna Ball. Through Donna's words, I guarantee you will be magically transported to this barrier island of Florida.! Like myself, you may never want to return.

If you've already read the "Deck The Halls" anthology by Donna Ball, don't buy this. It was already published in the anthology. Somehow I failed to see that in the description when I purchased the individual copy.
It's still a good story, and even though I recognized it immediately, I read it again.
