That’s what I thought until they came to Hollow Cove. And when I say they arrived, I mean they actually materialized —they came to life.
Newly engaged, I was looking forward to some quiet, sexy time with my wereape—all kinds of horizontal refreshments in every room—you know the type. But did I get it? Nope. Instead, I get hit with fairytales that plague our town.
Sounds harmless. But not all fairytales are about sunshine and rainbows. Some are evil. And some, well, some… are deadly.

There’s never a dull moment for the witches of Hollow Cove. It’s hard to believe that we are already at Book 12 of this incredible series. The adventures keep getting better and better.
The author does an outstanding job of weaving an amazingly intense and witty tale which wraps around you and pulls you into her creative and supernatural fantasyland. This is truly an excellent book filled with tension, dread, magic, humour, story book twists and turns, fairy tale romance and much more.
There are several frightful moments during those mysterious, and dare I say enchanted, incidents which are taking place around town. Invasive fabled characters have appeared and are bent on creating create havoc with the residents, some of whom have perished or gone missing. Our shadow witch and her Davenport family together with her now fiancé Chief Marcus, Ronin, Iris and others are on the case. Tessa is still discovering her magical powers and is willing to take complex risks when it comes to helping and rescuing the ones she loves. With sheer determination and some extra help from a quaint fairy, she saves the day.
Witchy Little Lies is another heart-pounding suspenseful read!
This is the worst idea. I hated this story. There was nothing in book 12 that I liked. It actually took me 2.5 months to get through it. Finally I just made myself finish it. Book 13 may have to wait until next Summer.
House has 'birthed' a miniature of itself, a cottage for Tessa and Marcus who are now engaged. Today is Marcus' birthday and Tessa wants to do something special for him. However, all the normal things both in the main house and the cottage are gone, no water, no electricity, no magic, just nothing.
At the main house there's quite the gathering happening, one Tessa, Dolores and Ruth want nothing to do with. It's Beverly's group and well you can just imagine what's being talked about.
When Tessa questions the no power or water dilemma she learns House is on strike. It feels neglected, seems the reason house works the way it does requires payment, the cheating husbands, wayward boyfriends and abusers they throw down the basement are said payment. They are killed but rather looked dazed and confused when they came back up.
This of course will make it difficult or rather impossible for Tessa to cook Marcus a birthday dinner. In the meantime, Beverly wants the appetizers she ordered picked up and sends Tessa. Only before she can get there, screams split the quiet.
She follows the screams and finds a dead girl, Marcus shows up and neither of them recognize her. She died brutally and when Tessa finds a basket nearby with jams, breads and some cheese, it reminds her of the story, Little Red Riding Hood. The uncensored one.
To make matters worse, her mother shows up to invite her and Marcus to dinner that night. Even though she declines it's like her mother doesn't hear a word she says. Marcus' arrival doesn't help either. Looks like they have a dinner to go to whether they like it or not.
To top that off, the body has disappeared. It wasn't taken, it vanished before the eyes Scarlet, Cameron and Marcus. Then Gilbert wants everything solved so he can have his Oyster Festival the next day. Just wonderful.
The reappearance of the body followed by an awesome ley line ride reveals the Big Bad Wolf. So much for it just being a fairytale. Seems it's very much real.
A conversation with Lilith doesn't reveal much other than Lilith might know who is causing it and Dolores' suggestion of a rift is more than possible.
With a pirate ship destroying Hollow Cove, they needed to solve that problem and quickly. Tessa does something she's never done before and it works. Now they have to find where these things are coming from and destroy it.
Fast paced and fun, this one had me holding my breath as Tessa faces fairytales containing loved ones.
I enjoyed the storyline, however the book itself felt more like a short story to me…or an episode. It just felt too short. There was not enough time spent developing Tessa & Marcus’ relationship as they were too busy putting out fire after fire. We weren’t able to chuckle at Tessa & her quirky relationship with her aunts because the entire story only happened over approximately 3 1/2 days. And is Tessa’s mom, Amelia, brain damaged from drugs from all the years spent as a groupie? Does she not realize her daughter is an adult? Forbidding her daughter-several times-from doing something, especially her job was not only ridiculous, but also pointless. I found this tedious as well as Amelia’s lack of boundaries, apparent lack of interest or awareness in what is happening in the town and her narcissism. Tessa, Marcus & Obiryn seemed to be perfectly fine allowing Amelia to act this way. The cliffie at the end was fun & hopefully the next book will be more developed & won’t feel like it could have joined with this one to make it whole.
Ok so this was probably one of the best reads of the series, the last half of the book definitely had me hooked unlike the rest of the series where it was easy to read a chapter here and there. It seemed like a nonstop race to the finish line, very high adrenaline rush read which is slightly different for this author. The same M.O. though with all of her stories, everything starts out good and then there is something to fight and Tessa saves the day. There wasn't a lot of character growth in this story, it was just a lot about the problem at hand which for this particular scenario has been done so many times that I feel it lacked originality. I know everybody wants to put their own spin on things but I am pretty sure I read another story with the exact same synopsis about this particular world. All in all though, this read was solid, more so than the previous and I am looking forward to the next read.
I decided to take a short break from the Harper Harlow series and read Book 12 of the Shadow Witch series ... Witchy Little Lies. I've been waiting for it to come out, and since I'm only halfway through the Harper Harlow series, we'll here I am. Witchy Little Lies was different. It was not what I expected but it was certainly interesting. The romance between Tessa and Marcus is off the charts. Plus, Book 12 ends in a cliffhanger. Book 13 comes out on April 8, 2023, and I have no doubt I'll stop what I'm reading on that day and make time for Book 13. Before I get back to Harper Harlow, I'm going to read one more book I've been waiting to drop ... Book 9 in the Spells Angel's series by Amanda M. Lee.
A new body is found. A girl dressed like little red riding hood. But fairy tales aren't real? When the body disapear and is found again and this time the big bad wolf is also there, Tessa is not so sure anymore. After that a battle againts Hook and is Jolly Roger and her aunt want to adopt Tinkerbell. Thats not weird. Someone is making fairy tale character come in Hollow Cove and she need to find out who and how and stop it.
I really love this one and cannot wait to see whats to come next. I have received an arc of this book from the author.
One of my favorites in this series. Fairytales come to life with a deadly twist. Tessa, Marcus and the crew have their hands full. It doesn’t seem that Tessa ever gets a break. This book was so much fun to read. I do have a burning question about one of the things that happened and hope it gets answered in the next book.
I have loved this series from book one and it just keeps getting better! This one though really knocked it out of the park with the fairy tales coming to life. And even though Tessa managed to end the other worlds fairy tales from bleeding into her world, someone still appears to be after her. So look forward to the next one!
Never thought of a book about witches, vampires etc also have fairy tales stories come alive. So very different but did keep my interest though. So, now I cannot wait to see what the deal is with this god who made the fairy tales stories come to life and why he wants to kill Tessa.
Texas's journey continues. This book was full of action. The plot and subplots move quickly, making it hard to put down. There is a twist at the end that has me anticipating the next book.
Another fantastic addition to this amazing series. Tessa and Marcus continue to take us on an adventure filled with suspense, action, hilarious and emotional moments.
With the way this one ends, I can’t wait to see how this story concludes in the final book.
Well that was a twist on the crazy that Normally occurs in Hollow Cove. Love this new spin with a new God entering the scene. Wish we could've gotten a name but can't wait till the next one
Another fantastic book in an already amazing series, I really enjoy reading about this world and there fascinating characters, I'm looking forward to reading the next one in this series.
I did enjoy this book but did find myself speed reading and skipping through a few areas. However, the plot and the base for the story self was amazing.. I’ll leave you to decide if you need to skip through any bits which I feel we have heard before several times.
This book wasn't my favorite of all of them. It's not bad, just not my favorite. I absolutely love this series, and I swear Kim Richardson knows how to deliver a good ending! Can't wait to dive into the next book!
Another good read from Kim Richardson. Of course, Tessa got into a fix and had to figure out how to get not only herself, but others out of the pickle. A fun story that leaves you wondering what's going to happen next!
Wow..i tried but this was awful. I have listened to the rest of the books and liked them but this one.. phew. Once i got to the alice in wonderland fairytale i was done and returned the book to the library without finishing.. hopefully the next one is better..
I really enjoyed this story, it was full of surprises and fun. Sometimes books like these can get predictable, and this series has its moments, but ask in all the plot keeps me interested and I keep reading. I look forward to the next book :)
Excellent story. I love this series and all the characters (almost). The scrapes they get into and the ways they get out of them. I love the personalities of the MCs and the aunts.
i enjoyed that I think the witch sisters remind me of the golden girls. always hanging it on each other. why does the creator want to kill her. look forward to the next book
