Spreckelsen took the medieval German prose epics of the Knights of the Round Table and wrote miniature summaries on selected characters. It's nice to read, and it keeps a good balance between maintaining the oddities of medieval court culture and a modern psychologized view on the characters' actions. Yet, due to the briefness maybe, this book doesn't really ignite the spark of desire to read the original works, which is probably the raison d'être of a summary book like this. It's well ok, not more, not less.
