I found it (him) at the bookstore.

Love.

He was six-foot-four, lanky, blue-eyed.

Jacob Decker was goofy, handsome, and cheesy.

There’s no better way to describe him.

But what can I expect of an 18-year-old boy who’s lived under a rock all his life?

I’ll let you into a little secret.

I had no idea what to expect.

We were each other’s first everything.

But the fantasy lasted only a semester.

Soon I had to move away.

A few years later, he was a rock star, and I was...

Grasping for a lifeline.

The problem with first loves is that they never leave you.

But they never come back, do they?

Almost Strangers is the first novel in the Somehow Everlasting duet, a Decker Family novel. This book ends on a cliff-hanger that'll change everything....

The Somehow Everlasting Duet is based on Jacob Decker and Pria Walker's story. Part of this duet was released as Uncharted.

Gird your loins and guard your heart, because this is a Decker family romance, and you're in for a wild ride. Jacob Decker's starry-eyed love begins his first day on the college campus when he sees the girl behind him in line at the bookstore and tells her they're destined to be together. But Pria Walker has a lot going on in her life and isn’t interested.

Fate seems to have its own idea and keeps putting Pria and Jacob in each others' orbit. Eventually they fall head over heels, but her family is moving at the end of the semester, and it looks like their only destiny may be as star-crossed lovers. Jacob promises they'll always have each other, and when Pria misses him she can just look up at the stars in the dark sky and know he's looking at the same stars. In that way, they'll be together.

Most second chance romances begin at the reunion, giving flashbacks of a young love lost. Not Burgoa. She starts at the beginning, with all those butterfly feelings and excitement of getting to know someone special and falling for them. She then takes us through the separation, heartbreak, and rubble that's finally left as two fated souls struggle to survive without each other. And holy wow, is it a lot! Heart-breaking, gut-wrenching, devastating, and ruinous.

If that's not enough, we're left hung out to dry at the end of the first half, because this saga is far too much for a single book. But not to worry, the happy ending is coming and available now. This isn’t a hearts and flowers romance, but holy wow, is it ever worth it! Run, don’t walk, and grab this one and the second half of the duet, Strangers In Love, then settle in for an epic binge. Your emotions will be put through the ringer, but your romantic heart will be blissfully happy!

What a phenomenal beginning to Book 1! This is my first book read by Claudia Burgoa and I’m so thankful to her and Wildfire Marketing solutions for my ARC.

This story was told in Dual POVs by the main characters: Pria and Jacob Decker. These two meet in their first day of college and he knows that she’s his soulmate. What is written in your destiny is really meant to be right?

The storyline keeps you engaged throughout. There is character growth and decline and you will see what I mean once you pick this one up.

This book reminded me of the Alanis Morisette song “Ironic!” Everything happened for a reason and it was so deliciously written. I have no doubt that this book will be a bestseller.

Almost Strangers was the first book in Claudia’s Somehow Everlasting Duet. It was angsty, emotional, and left me craving more!

Jacob had met his match in line at the campus bookstore. He knew as soon as he saw Pria, she was the one. But Pria was a little more cautious. As they spent more time together their bond strengthened but how much strain could it take before it broke for good?

Oh my heart! These two went through so much. They had such an intense and immediate attraction that was ripped away. I loved getting to watch them continue to hold onto the love they shared. I can’t wait to see how it ends!!

Jesus Christ, I hate audiobooks and this was really is the epitome of audiobook hell. No emotions whatsoever.

I was completely captivated by this emotional love story. When Cypriana (Pria) Walker and Jacob (JC) Colthurst-Decker meet in college they have instant chemistry. Jacob knows immediately that Pria is his soul mate, written in the stars and destined to be together, forever. Pria isn't as convinced by Jacob's less than stellar 'lines' but after perseverance she agrees to go out with him. They fall hard for each other, and give each other all their firsts. Jacob is sweet and a romantic at heart. His artistic soul is awakened by Pria and he can't imagine life without her. Pria's life is ruled by her family and soon it is time for Pria to move away to get more help for her sick sister. Unfortunately events happen and Jacob can't contact or find her. He tries everything he can think of to find her but tragedy strikes in the process. Pria waits for him to call her but when he doesn't, she is finally forced to move on. This story is about how their lives, the decisions they made and how their responsibilities made them who they are. I was completely consumed by these star crossed lovers and my heart broke for them both. This is a moving and emotional story of love, sacrifice, and consequences. It brought out so many extreme emotions and I loved every minute of it, and can't wait to see what the stars have in store for them!

Oh my what a wonderful and emotional story by Claudia. Claudia is the queen of angst and this book certainly does deliver it in spades! Jacob and Pria meet early on in college but life gets in their way and for Pria it’s a heartbreaking story. I was hooked from the first page and I devoured this well written book. This is book one of a duet and I can’t wait for book two to find out what happens next. I received this book as an arc for my honest opinion.

This story follows Jacob and Pria who have a not so great meet cute, but the universe has other plans for them. As fate would have it, Jacob is instantly entranced by Pria after their first meeting, but he doesn’t get her number, so he has no way of contacting her or finding out who she is. Until they keep bumping into each other and start a relationship. Their relationship is one of those young love relationships that make you swoon at how adorable and in love they are.

Until Pria needs to move away with her family. That was always the plan, but it hurts so much. And after not being able to say goodbye, the two of them must move on with their lives.

Which technically they both do, except neither of them truly does. Over the next decade, the two of them are constantly on each others minds and the things that happened between them and because of them, have a way of keeping them hanging on.

The book ends in a crazy cliffhanger that brings out characters back together after ten years apart. There is so much resentment and misunderstanding between them, but the love is still there. Will they be able to finally get their chance at forever?

Gah, this book was so angsty for so many reasons! Definitely go in blind to this book to experience their love story and just their general life stories in general. The two of them go on completely different paths, but the love that they once shared has never really gone away.

Joe Arden and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker did a fantastic job with the narration. I am a huge fan of Joe Arden and he definitely brought the angst with just his words. Stephanie is a new to me narrator, but I loved her voice of Pria. I could feel the pain and emotion radiating from her words.

Jacob’s parents were determined to protect their children from the media attention they garnered wherever they went. College is his first opportunity to be independent and he is looking forward to everything that it entails. After a chance meeting with Pria he knows that he needs her in his life however their journey would not be without its setbacks.

Pria is focused on her family and because of that she knows that her time at college could be limited. The last thing she needs is to give her heart to Jacob if she can’t stay however it doesn’t take her long to realize that it is already too late. When circumstances tear them apart will they be able to find their way back to each other?

I enjoyed seeing the relationship between Pria and Jacob unfold as he was so determined in his pursuit and overcame her initial reluctance. The love between them was deep as you feel their devastation when they are apart and it leaves you wanting the rest of their story.

Amazing

What a beautifully written book that played with my heart throughout. This author broke my heart only to break it again. Talk about angst!! I loved every moment of it with two wonderful characters that had me rooting for them throughout.

Jacob and Pria’s meeting had me believing at love at first sight. They were perfect for each other and they discovered so many firsts together until Pria was pulled from the college life because of a strict family and ill sister.

They meet again but don’t be too heartbroken when they don’t get their HEA in this story because with their next book I know this author will bring the very best to their story.

Almost Strangers (Somehow Everlasting Duet #1) is just another example as to why the Decker clan is one of my favorite fictional families of all time. It’s Jacob Decker’s turn to have a chance at love so get ready for a tearful and emotional journey.

When Jacob meets Pria in line at the college bookstore, their chemistry is instant, magnetic and he’s immediately consumed with her. I give him credit because he’s relentless in his pursuit of her. He’s flirtatious, ridiculously charming and utterly irresistible. Although Pria acts likes she’s not interested and it’s hysterical how she shuts him down on more than one occasion, she’s secretly into him and she definitely feels their chemistry as well. Jacob is just too hard to resist and I was thrilled when she gave in. They captured me at their first encounter and I just knew their story was going to be fantastic. Both of them have something in common given the fact that they’ve both lived sheltered lives. In Jacob’s case, one of his parents is a famous actor and the other is a famous rock star who’ve chosen not to expose him or his brother and sister to the public. Pria’s life has been restricted as everything resolves around her sister’s Cystic Fibrosis and her health. It also doesn’t help that her mom has helicopter behavior and controls every move she makes.

Neither Jacob or Pria have experience when it comes to relationships and love. Therefore, these young lovers experience their firsts together and they have a roller coaster of highs and lows. And the passionate and tender moments they share are deep, palpable and meaningful.

Strangers In Love has a lot of endearing, sweet and genuine moments that made my heart flutter. And in true Claudia Burgoa style, she also gives an equal balance of angst, heartache, painful events and sorrow. All of this makes for a captivating and engaging storyline. I’m not going to lie, some of the things that take place are downright painful and devastating. Even though some events throughout this book made my heart clinch, I would endure it all over again just to experience Jacob and Pria’s love. Because this is a duet, Almost Strangers does end on a cliffhanger. However, it’s so appealing that there’s just no way you wouldn’t want to read the conclusion of their story, Strangers In Love.

Wow. Poor Jacob Decker. My heart goes out to him and his losses. His love for Pria was all-consuming. It destroyed him in so many ways. I feel bad for Pria because she us prevented from living the life she wants. Almost ten years and their lives are not what they wanted. This book ends in a cliffhanger.

I loved reading Jacob and Pria's storybut hearing it brought to life by Joe Arden and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker was wonderful. They were able to capture the emotional turmoil the characters experienced and their torments. I cannot wait to listen to the next book.

I loved the first part of the Somehow Everlasting Duet so much! This was a phenomenal beginning to Pria and Jacob’s story! These two met on the first day of college and since that moment he knew she was his soulmate.

This was a wild ride and the emotions were heartbreaking, gut wrenchingly devastating. This was the story of two souls fated to be together, but lost in a sea of darkness.

I’m so glad I had the second part of the duet to read right away because I don’t know what I would have done if I didn’t!

Joe Arden and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker were phenomenal as Pria and Jacob and I can’t wait to listen to the second book in this duet!

A Captivating & Emotional Romance! Outstanding Story & Listen🎧

Almost Strangers
A Decker Family Novel (Somehow Everlasting, Book 1)
By: Claudia Burgoa
Narrated by: Joe Arden, Stephanie Nemeth-Parker

After listening to and loving Claudia Burgoa’s “Unexpected Everlasting” Duet, I was looking forward to return to the amazing Decker world she created and to hear Ansley’s brothers’ story. Each duet features a different Decker triplet and stands on its own, but the siblings and their parents appear in each other’s book and while you need not have to have read the other’s books, I think it is best that you do. Not only are they amazing stories, but timelines overlap and knowing the other’s back story is beneficial, beside seeing them again is like seeing an old friend. This book is the start of Jacob and Pria’s story and wow, what a story it is, it is one not to be missed and I can not wait to start the next book in the duet, so happy it is already available. This story had me right from the start, grabbing my attention and captivating it straight to the end. After being homeschooled their entire life, the two Decker brothers were off to college and ready for the entire college experience. I love the camaraderie amongst the triplets and these two together are hilarious without even trying to be with their back-and-forth bickering, also loved how they are missing their sister, the more responsible one of the three. Cipriana “Pria” Walker, a freshman at UW, she is going to make the most of her time in college, for however long that may be. Her parents are always looking for the best places in the country for treatment for her sister, Maeve, who has Cystic Fibrosis. Her demanding overprotective mother asks a lot of her too, including being the caregiver for her sister, who she loves dearly. When Jacob throws the worst pickup lines on her, she just blows him off, but their paths cross again and he is persistent and will not give up on her. It was great to watch these two get to know each other and see it morph into young love, one that was supposed to be everlasting. Except Pria needs to go back home and knowing he is destined to be a big rockstar one day she makes a foolish decision to let him go. He does not except that and it turns out to be disastrous for him and when she realizes she made a mistake, she finds out he was gone and it she was too late. This is a beautifully written and plotted story of first love and heartache, the emotions pour off the pages and straight into your heart and you can feel every single one. Claudia Burgoa, thank you for this exceptional love story and emotional rollercoaster ride.

🎧📚🎧 And for the fabulous narration, Joe Arden and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker do an amazing job bringing these characters to life, and did so with a complete understanding of each of their personas. I loved how they took each role, ran with it and made it their own, sounding natural in that role and believable. Besides nailing it in the lead roles, both were just as fabulous performing the roles of the secondary characters too. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they capture all the character’s emotions and project them into their performance, making you feel every single one. These superbly talented narrators are entertaining storytellers and versatile voice artists. Thank you for another exceptional listen, it is always a pleasure to listen to your performances.

I absolutely loved Almost Strangers by Claudia Burgoa; the first book in her Somehow Everlasting Duet, it is an incredible love at first opposites attract sight love story. Claudia Burgoa continues to provide readers with incredible love stories filled with amazing characters. She continues to prove that she is an amazing storyteller. I love all the characters in Almost Strangers, they feel like family! Almost Strangers filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, It was impossible to put it down, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? I really enjoy how the book is told in the first person from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud. My favorite moments are the ones that pull at my heartstrings that cause me to sigh, as I read the heartbreaking moments. Almost Strangers is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. It is filled with all those things that I have come to love and expect in Claudia Burgoa love story, and she did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Almost Strangers is a love story between college freshmen at the University of Washington Cipriana “Pria” Walker and Jacob Decker, a band member of Without a Compass. I loved how the book spans years of their relationship, and you could see the growth in Pria, Jacob and his brother Matthew and sister Ainsley. Jacob and Pria meet while standing in line at the bookstore and then again on the first day of class. Jacob and Pria begin a romantic relationship, but it is hindered by Pria’s sister Maeve health. Maeve suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. I love how Pria wanted to give Jacob a unique nickname and Jacob’s nickname for Pria. I love how Jacob shares things with Pria that he has never shared with anyone before, especially when Jacob tells Pria about the identity of his parents. love all the dreams that they share with one another, including the names of their children and their dogs. I love all the things that Jacob does for Pria to let her know that he is always there for her even when he is not physically present. An unanticipated plot twist occurs that causes Pria and Jacob to go their separate ways, even though they each unknowingly reach out to find one another but to no avail. Jacob and Pria have seemed to move on, and each have suffered other losses in their lives. My favorite part is the cliffhanger ending. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Almost Strangers, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between Decker siblings especially their teasing that made me laugh. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Almost Strangers, who does not love a love at first sight opposites attract love story? I am not used to reading love stories that do not have a happily ever after, but I am looking forward to reading Strangers in Love, to read the conclusion of Pria and Jacob’s love story. Highly recommend this incredible love story.

🎧🎧AUDIO REVIEW🎧🎧

OVERALL: 5 STAR

ALC provided by Forever and Always PR for an honest review

PERFORMANCE: 5 STAR

Narrated by Joe Arden & Stephanie Nemeth-Parker. Outstanding job from both narrators. Joe sometimes lets his narration speed up like its running downhill (lol) but I didn’t even notice with this duet! WELL DONE!

STORY: 5 STAR

You can’t read/listen to Almost Strangers without reading/listening to Strangers in Love and vice versa and since they’ve been published many moons ago (lol) I’m going to review the duet as one.

I’m in love with Jacob and Pria and no one else can have them. They are mine.

Phew! That felt good getting off my chest LOL I mean these two are the embodiment of *happy sigh* with a dash of *rip my heart out why don’t you* and a sprinkle of *light and hope*. Their journey was emotional and more uphill than any two people should endure, but it was cloaked in hope which made it endearing and captivating for me from the very beginning!

My personal journey with the Decker family didn’t start strong, but Jacob and Pria did an excellent job of bringing back some of my lost love! There are circumstances in both Jacob and Pria’s personal worlds that were handled with respect to their realism. This is realistic fiction at its best. Even though this duet has been published for a while, I am sure there are a ton of readers out there who have yet to experience it so I won’t be giving any details on said circumstances.

I love how Jacob and Pria fit like two puzzle pieces. Jacob’s pursuit of Pria was utterly charming and put a huge smile on my face and I loved every choice that Claudia made in not just their development as a couple, but as individuals as well. They both grew in this duet by leaps and bounds in my opinion and it was a glorious listening experience for me.

The journey to HEA for Pria and Jacob is not easy and it is pretty much rocky all the way thru but again, no matter what was happening, I believed in them and they always made sense. GAH, I loved these two so much!!

Almost Strangers is the first book from Burgoa's Somehow Everlasting duet. This second chance romance features Cypriana (Pria) Walker and Jacob (JC) Colthurst-Decker.

Jacob and Pria first meet on their first day at college while standing in line at the bookstore. Jacob is immediately taken with Pria and lays it on thick. He tells her they're destined to be together. Pria's sister. Maeve, is sick (CF) and their family will be moving at the end of the semester to wherever she can find treatment so going out with Jacob is not high on her list of priorities. The two however keep finding each other and it seems like fate might be intervening.

The two end up connecting and falling hard. While Jacob proposes a long distance relationship, Pria declines. It would be too hard. Jacob is certain they will find their way back to one another one day. Jacob knows she's leaving but when it happens he is distraught. She disappears and her phone seems to have been cancelled. He has no idea where she moved and has no way to reach her.

Jacob uses his love of Pria as fodder for his lyrics and pours his heart into every song he writes. He can only hope that she will hear one of his songs, know he is talking about her, and come find him. He continues to search until the day he sees her walking with another and knowing she didn't wait for him.

The book takes us from the beginning when they meet, through their short-lived love affair, into their separation and mutual grief from being apart, and more. It is an emotional roller coaster and the book ends on a cliffhanger. I will be picking up the second book, Strangers In Love, very soon in order to find out what happens next for these two. I'm hopping for a HEA for these star crossed lovers.

I listened to the audiobook which was narrated by Robert Hatchett and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker. The duo did a great job bringing Burgoa's characters to life. They ensure the listener experiences a full range of emotions through their portrayal of Jacob and Pria. They definitely enriched my experience of the story's. I thoroughly enjoyed their performance.

Wow! What happened in that cliffhanger? ALMOST STRANGERS is the 1st book in the Somehow Everlasting Duet, and it is an absolute MUST read. I’ve said it once, and I will say it again. Claudia Burgoa is the queen of family sagas, and she did it again! I loved this second change romance with all its angst, drama, and heartbreak. This book had everything—it was hot, it was sassy, it was an emotional rollercoaster, it had witty banter, it gave me butterflies, and it will make you fall in love. This is Jacob Decker and Pria Walker’s story. Jacob meets Pria at the beginning of college at a bookstore, and there was an instant attraction. It was as though fate had stepped in and showed Jacob his love. “It’s written in the stars. You and I are it. Destined to be together—forever.” Pria thought Jacob was crazy or high on something. This relationship lasted for one semester due to Pria moving. During this time, they were each other’s first. Jacob could not hide his feeling for Pria—they were inseparable. Everything was so good at first for Jacob and Pria—they seemed right for each other, so he thought. But life managed to tear them apart, and Pria shattered Jacob’s heart.

Fast forward a few years later, Jacob is a rock star and dealing with his demons, and Pria is dealing with her own problems as well. Jacob and Pria’s relationship certainly wasn’t an easy one. When I got to a certain part in the story, an incident occurred—I was destroyed! I did not see that coming. And after all the pain and regret, can two people who were always meant to be, overcome their demons and get that second chance at love. Find out what happened between Jacob and Pria, and see if there’s any way they can get back what they had. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

The Somehow Everlasting Duet is an angsty, second chance romance between Jacob Decker and Pria Walker. They meet in college and have a whirlwind of a romance for a semester, but life soon takes them down different paths. As the years pass, they’re resolved to accept that what they had was just a fleeting memory.

It was definitely love at first sight for Jacob when he first runs into Pria at the university bookstore, and I enjoyed that the whole beginning of their romance was that young, carefree, caught up in the moment of new love that we often experience in college. Unfortunately, it didn't last forever as life comes in and sends them along different paths.

We skip a number of months and years as the story progresses, and at times it can be hard to keep up with the jumps. Jacob's fathers are great, and as he is a triplet, it's also fun to see the sibling dynamics with his brother and sister. But his life wasn't without struggles. Pria's family isn't as easy as Jacob's, and though they love each other, it's not an easy love, except between her and her sister. I especially enjoyed the interactions between the sisters. Pria's sister is so fun and sweet, despite her health challenges, and always encouraging Pria to live her life.

As the years pass, it becomes harder and harder for Jacob and Pria to imagine that they will ever see the other again. Pria is helping her sick sister, and Jacob is off making music like he always dreamed of doing.

For such a short story, there was quite a bit of angst. It's a quick and easy read that leaves us on a bit of a cliffy, but luckily, the next book was ready and waiting.

🎧: I listened to the audio for this duet, and I think Joe and Stephanie did a wonderful job. I'd give them 5 stars for their performances.

~4.5⭐️Rating~

It all started between rows of books, a young love unlike any other. With a connection neither could deny Pria and Jacob consumed each other so much so that when they eventually parted way it shattered both of them. One thing no one ever tells you is that your first love never truly leaves you… but can these two actually be apart of each others lives after so much has happened and so much time has passed?

..

Im a huge fan of Burgoa’s work and this book showcases everything that I love about her writing. This book was addictively consuming so much so that once I put down the first half of this duet I was immediately compelled to pick up the second half and get to the bottom of the Pria and Jacob story!

..

I just loved these two characters and getting to see them try to find their feet in young love. They really did not have to smoothest of starts but gosh did they burn bright! I really liked Pria, she was such an interesting leading lady. I loved that she made Jacob work to win her over even though she clearly liked him. As for our hero, well Jacob was a real charmer. I really liked that her worked hard to gain Pria’s love and affection.

..

Good gosh things really did not end very well for these two and their reunion sure did not get of to a great start either but I just can not wait to continue reading their story and find out where these two end up!

This is book one in The Somehow Everlasting Duet and it is Jacob and Pri's story and omg it is definitely a must read. Jacob and Pria met while waiting in line at the college bookshop and there connection, attraction and chemistry is so strong and intense right from the beginning and Jacob is instantly armoured with her and even though she knocks him back time and time again he doesn't give up but when they eventually come together it is beautiful and pure magic and they become each other's riser in every single way and they are absolutely perfect together but fate has a way of messing up even the best plans leaving them both heartbroken. Wow this book takes you on a true roller coaster ride of emotions that had you on the edge of your seat while holding your breath and had me in tears with all the pain that they were going through and I felt like I was there living through it all with them and in true Claudia fashion you get one help of a cliff hanger ending that leaves you needing the next book. This book takes you in right from the start and it will not let you go and had you anxiously turning the pages wondering what would happen next and I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting as it was so addictive. Claudia Burgoa is an amazing author and writer and her book's are definitely worth reading and you will not be disappointed.

It's been years since I read Jacob and Pria's originally story, Uncharted, so this felt like a brand new story, not least because it has been rewritten, although the essence of their story is still there.

The first time I read this story, it was angsty AF and that still rings true. Jacob Decker pretty much falls for Cipriana 'Pria' Walker from the first moment he sees her. He's silly and charming and eventually wins her round. Pria comes from a pretty strict family and her sister has health issues. The two secretly fall in love hard, but circumstances beyond their control tear them apart. Years later, when they meet again, Jacob is no longer the sweet guy she knew. It's like he's had a personality transplant.

By the time they met again, both had moved on and been through a lot. My heart hurt at how they came to lose each other when they were younger. By the time they met again, Jacob carried a burden of guilt for things that happened in his life because he'd never really gotten over the loss of Pria. This instalment had joy, pain and everything in between, and I couldn't wait to move on to the concluding book.

Whoa that was an epic ride of bad timings and missed chances. If their communication had been better....

I really enjoyed getting to know Jacob (and Matthew) better. It was wild learning about what messed up Jacob (I was curious to know what happened after reading Ainsley's story). I hated that he carried all that anger and guilt.

Pria, I have mixed feelings about. She admitted herself she was a doormat. If she had only stepped up and went to the record label things might have been different (but then again Jacob could have done things differently too). What drove me crazy about Pria, though, was how she was okay with how her mom treated her. She was an 18 year old beauty calling her mom "mommy" and stepping in line with whatever "mommy" wanted and said. Pria deserved her own life too. She was a young adult who deserved to live, not be strapped as her sister's caregiver. Some of her actions just drove me crazy throughout this entire book.

Neither of these two are perfect. They both owe each other apologies and amends. I look forward to seeing them make up for lost years.

As soon as i found out there would be more Decker Family books i was so glad! I immediately started looking forward to this duet. I picked up this first installment and got right into the Somehow Everlasting Duet! I so enjoyed this first installment!

This first installment in Jacob and Pria's journey captured my attention so quickly! Sometimes a person can walk into your life and it changes your world, Jacob and Pira sure know that from the moment they meet. Can what they have last?

I really liked the way Jacob and Pria were brought into each other's lives. I didn't know what all was going to happen between these two in this first book which got me even more into it. The chemistry between Pria and Jacob was undeniable. I went through such a range of emotions from beginning to end with both of them.

With Almost Strangers, Ms.Burgoa has created such a good read that had me feeling so dang much! I will definitely be diving into the second installment, Strangers In Love right away to find out what will happen next in this story!

There are no words to express how freaking excited I was when I found out Claudia was writing what ended up being the most amazing Duet !!! She is not only a queen when it comes to writing pretty much all tropes in romance but she happens to be one of my all time favorite authors as well . Almost Strangers was everything I could have hoped for and much much more - a true emotional rollercoaster) filled with wonderfully written characters in Pria and Jacob ( both are so likable and relatable as well as unique and multi layered , angst , off the charts chemistry, second chances , heartbreaking and heartfelt moments, family , friendships, love , hope , joy tragic, unforgettable, unputdownable and so much more . It’s the type of love story that is definitely going to grab onto all your emotions so tightly and pull at your heartstrings in ways you will not be expecting. There will be moments you’ll smile , moments you’ll laugh and others you’ll cry so hard while rooting for both to get their happy ending . Do prepare yourself for all the feels and a very long night of reading

Jacob and Pria meet at the start of the semester picking up their books. You could say Jacob falls head over heels for her, he just knew she was the one in his future. Pria thinks he’s not serious and goes on with her life. A life that includes taking care of her older sister with CF, if her mother is not around.
After a few failed attempts from Jacob, Pria gives in and goes along.
The night they spend watching the stars, makes her realize he is serious about her, but she knows it will never last if her family has to move again for another trial for her sister. And that time comes faster than they both expected. How will they make it work or is it really over?

This is such an amazing book, beautiful written. I loved it. Glad there is a second book to their story. You really have to read this one.

My favorite quote “So, every night, you look at the sky, and remember I’m thinking of you, Twinkle. Creating music for you, holding you in my arms every night, and taking away the pain. We’re soulmates, remember?”

I recently reread Uncharted, so I had the original story fresh in my mind. In this book, the first of the Everlasting duet, you get more details of the relationship between Jacob and Pria, how it started and how they fell so deeply inlove.

They meet for first time on a campus store and it was love at first sight, Jacob knew right there he met the one, as faith intervined their paths croseed a few time and Pria gives him the chance to get to know each other. They have this farytale romance that ends (for now) abrubtly, life happens, mistakes are made, and they have to go their separate ways.

This book has a lot of sweet and tender moments that can make your heart go crazy, but also angst, heartache, painful events, in true Claudia fashion.

Almost Strangers, the first book in the Somehow Everlasting Duet took us on an intense, emotional rollercoaster ride as we start this heart breaking love story. Jacob and Pria had instant chemistry and it was insta love for these two. I loved their back and forth banter and as the story progressed I loved seeing the growth in their characters. Their story had some sweet endearing moments balance by some angsty and heart-breaking ones. I loved the family dynamics and the interaction among the siblings. Told in dual POV this story ends in a cliff hanger and I can't wait to start book. This as a great read and I would highly recommend it to romance lovers.
