Argumento:

Mi enamorado de la secundaria no me dio la hora del día hasta que reclamó mi v-card y me dejó embarazada...

Ahora está de regreso en nuestra pequeña ciudad para una graduación.

Estoy anonadado cuando entra en mi lugar de trabajo chorreando Gucci, todo engreído y coqueto.

No estaba preparada para que él fuera tan asertivo y me quisiera como si nada.

Este tipo tiene amnesia o es un imbécil de clase A.

Tengo que jugar bien porque su hermano es mi jefe.

Gran error.

No son solo sus penetrantes ojos azules y sus musculosos brazos, son sus hoyuelos los que aparecen cuando sonríe.

Nunca pensé que volvería a poner mi corazón allí.

Solo estoy esperando que la historia se repita.

Lo siguiente que sé es que estamos en esta ola de deseo y terminamos teniendo muchas apasionadas noches de encrespamiento de los dedos de los pies.

No estoy ni cerca de estar preparado para que mi corazón se rompa de nuevo.

Mi cabeza me dice que corra.

Mi humilde opinión:

Lamentablemente no me creí el amor en esta historia. Elegí leer este libro porque me gusta el tema de enemigos a amantes y los bebés. Quería un lindo romance de pueblo pequeño con el drama del embarazo y aunque había una adorable niña de 4 años, poco me causó emoción.

Toda la situación entre Lexi y Josh me frustraba mucho. Soy una lectora súper paciente, comprensiva y amo un buen drama pero esto me superó!

Los protagonistas parecían que aún continuaban en la secundaria...

Cuando Lexi descubre su embarazo se acerca al hermano de Josh, Wyatt (que parecía en la luna en ese momento) para entregarle una carta para Josh contándole que será padre. De verdad no se dio cuenta que el hermano no estaba bien para entregarle la carta? Ella nunca pensó insistir, en contactar a nadie más cuando no obtuvo respuesta por parte de Josh? Solo sacó la conclusión de que a él no le importaba que estuviera embarazada? 5 años después ella aplica para un empleo de recepcionista justamente con Wyatt como jefe?! con terror de que le pregunte en cualquier momento sobre su sobrina? Él no le pregunta obviamente porque no se acuerda de ella hace años dándole la carta para el hermano. Puede una mujer ser tan despistada y tan inmadura? Actuando como si todavía fuera una adolescente enamorada de Josh en lugar de enfrentarlo y preguntarle porqué nunca le respondió la carta o nunca la contactó!? NO. Ella se deja seducir como una tonta, todavía pensando que él no quiso saber de ella embarazada o de su hija todos esos años, sin pedirle una explicación. Simplemente increíble.

Josh actuaba todo alegre de tener aventuras con mujeres de aquí y allá. Era impensable para él una relación seria. Cuando volvió al pueblo ni se acordaba de Lexi hasta que ella aparece y es contestada para trabajar para su hermano. Es ahí donde todo arrogante, decide que quiere divertirse con ella antes de irse a NY. Estalla la lujuria y Lexi no puede decirle que no a Josh porque él es irresistible con sus ojos y sonrisa. De la nada Josh tiene un sueño con ella viviendo juntos y ya no tiene problemas con establecerse y formar una familia? Algo impensable como invitarla en una cita y ser romántico ahora no le asusta? Todo esto me pareció un cambio repentino para un tipo que todo el tiempo estuvo centrado en sí mismo y en tener solo sexo con Lexi. Cambiar todos sus planes tan rápido me desconcertó.

Para rematar está el momento cuando se entera que tiene una hija. Qué hace Josh? Saca conclusiones equivocadas y como un cobarde se va a NY! Me pareció egoísta que solo pensara en él y no en Lexi, que renunció a sus planes tras terminar la escuela. No se paró a pensar un segundo en lo difícil que fue ser madre adolescente. Él solo se va sintiéndose traicionado y pensó en beber para olvidar. Ridículo!

Conclusión, Billionaire Enemy's Baby tenía una historia poco romántica con escenas de sexo que mejor saltarlas, poco emocionante, esperaba más escenas de Josh con su hija ya que el punto de la historia era que no sabía que era padre. Todo era una situación absurda porque no había un gran impedimento para que Lexi no pudiera contactar a Josh luego de irse a Londres. Me pareció que podría haber insistido con la familia.

Josh and Lexi both had visions of dreams they thought they would pursue but a one-night stand will have one of them leaving those dreams behind. When Lexi found out she was pregnant she attempted to contact Josh, but communications were crossed. years later Josh is back state side and reconnects with Lexi the one left behind. Will the past be rekindled between these two and will this time around end with a happily ever after for them. This story drew me in and had me connecting with Lexi and cheering her on to finding happiness! I am volunteering to leave a review for an arc of this book.

A Second Chance at Love

I couldn't help but root for Josh & Lexi. They met at the graduation party, hooked up that night & he left for London the next day. With no contact info of his whereabouts in London, she gives his brother, Wyatt, a letter to forward to Josh, giving him the news she is pregnant. She gives up her dream in going to California & becomes a single mom staying in her hometown with her parents nearby. Not hearing from him, she presumes he wants nothing to do with her or his baby. Five years later, Lexi starts working at his brother's company while Mya is in kindergarten. She is shocked when she comes face-to-face when Josh waltzes into the business & with his charming ways, he's like the flirting teenager she remembers & still has a crush on him. She can't resist him & when she gives in to her desires, she becomes angry with herself of being weak & Josh not even showing any interest by asking about their daughter. Once they discover their assumptions & miscommunications were wrong about each other, they reconnect to get to know each other on a different level & to bond as a family. This is a wonderful, funny story of 2 people who have loved each other (albeit a one nighter, first love), parted ways & to reunite hoping to have a second chance of capturing the HEA they so deserve.

Josh & Lexi: first, I can't say enough how the title of this book and the contents within the story do not match. Oh yes there's a surprise baby but there's no billionaires here. Not in this book. And not even enemies. It's completely one sided and not even that because the heroine can't even hold those feelings for longer than a minute So it starts in the past, Lexi's graduation night. There's a huge party for all the high school kids and Josh is back from college. Lexi had always had a crush on Josh and after an embarrassing moment they end up with one hot night. Josh leaves the next day for London. Five years later he's back again but is surprised to find Lexi still in town. He doesn't know that he left a little something behind that fateful night. So it's more of a small town second chance romance. Josh is working to "start" his business, is never discussed if his family has money at the beginning. Lexi needs a job to help take care of her daughter. Now I'm a little skeezed out by how hard Josh pushes up on Lexi when he gets back but frustrated about how quickly her "hate" disappears when he touches her. 🤦🏾‍♀️. Other than that it's a sweet story with a touch of, "in trying to pull out those gut wrenching feelings" but not quite hitting the mark. Not bad for the first book of the series. I hope the other books are better though.

Bumpy Road
After graduation Lexi plans to take the world by a storm in L.A. All her dreams change after a one night stand with her all time crush, Josh Macauley. He leaves for London the next day and even after she writes him a letter letting hin know he is going to be a father she hears nothing from him. Now five years later Josh is sweeping through Beaufort on his way to New York City. When he catches sight of Lexi at his brother’s shop he decides maybe he should have a little fun before he leaves. This is a fast paced steamy romance about mis-communication and second chances. I am on Lexi’s side all the way, but at first it is hard to have any good feelings about playboy Josh. Definitely an enjoyable read that kept me captivated.

Ms. Ryan has written a beautiful story about second chances. This is the story of Lexi and Josh. Lexi has had a crush on Josh for a long time and she couldn't be happier when one day he pays attention to her and they spend the night together and that night is not without consequences but before Lexi can act or tell him he is gone. I struggled with Josh in the beginning I thought he was an ego tripper. When Josh reappears in her life years later, it turns out that the feelings between them have not disappeared, but Lexi is still dealing with old pains and doesn't know if she can trust him. It then becomes a messy time trying to figure out what happened and they find out that there was miscommunication and that she needed to mature faster, much faster than she expected.

Received as an ARC and leaving my honest review voluntarily. Easy to read second chance romance that was emotional and sweet. Josh came across as a little self centered at the start but he matures and becomes more self aware as the book progresses, which made him likeable and real. Lexi had that mix of maturity and immaturity that was believable of someone forced to quickly grow up and take responsibility. Although there was so much misunderstanding and missed chances that were painful to read, it's great when they finally work things out and find their HEA. The epilogue was just so sweet for this couple.

Josh and Lexi share one night together before they were going to pursue their dreams in college. However, Lexi was left with a reminder of their time together and had to change her course in life. She tried to reach out to Josh but never heard back. Now years later he is back in town, and she runs into him when she is at his brother shop interviewing for a job. What will he do when he learns about his child? Can they get a second chance?

This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

Can I forgive his past actions?

5 stars. Excellent from start to finish. The storyline for Josh & Lexi is blend of past & present which holds your attention from the 1st line to the last line. Hop aboard for the emotional rollercoaster ride as you experience all that they go through & feel. How will Josh react when he learns that he left her pregnant all those years ago?
Will they get a second chance at love & HEA?.

Lexi had a crush on Josh through most of high school. He returned to town and showed up at her graduation class party. He comes to her rescue and then they live out her fantasy.
Josh returned five years later, again with plans to leave, but he was still drawn to Lexi as if she held his happiness. Josh pushes past Lexi’s barriers and she believed they were on same page. Lack of full communication often leads to misunderstandings and hurt.

Good book, very sweet, with lots of feels. Not sure where the "Billionaire Enemy" comes from, though.

Lexington had big plans for her life upon graduating but a night of fun derailed her plans. She confesses that she has always had a crush on Josh who is going to study abroad in London. That one night changes the future for one of them. This was a good book. I found it entertaining although I am not a fan of the writing style.

I thought this was a cute novel though very predictable. Lexi and Josh have a one night stand, which results in a baby. When Josh returns back to their little town years later, Lexi is obviously resentful and upset. However, there is an underlying attraction and chemistry between them and Josh is willing to do what he can to make Lexi be with him.

This story is about a high school graduation fling that turns into something more. Miscommunication and character flaws abound with resentment. This story takes on a different meaning with the additional characters and upset. A story that lets one know communication is done best when it is made without third parties. I loved the realization scene.

This was a sweet small town romance with a secret baby. Josh and Lexi had a one night fling on graduation night, and Lexi hasn’t seen him since. When Josh comes back to town, Lexi tries to stay away from him. But it’s a small town…
They eventually work things out for their HEA, but not without a few twists and turns. I enjoyed reading this book, and I recommend it to anyone who likes sweet small town romances.
