After finishing the second book, I realised that the Dark series is a straightforward and honest read. The storyline holds its substance and intrigue, the characters are very well developed and keep evolving. The erotic scenes are intense and bold.

Consciously Emily wants to discover her depths of sexuality, explore new worlds, the grownup worlds of sex, were pleasure and pain are mixed.
So, Dylan and Emily sign a second contract, adding two weeks more in their sexual arrangement. However, what they don’t take under consideration, is the blossoming of feelings...

I would have preferred less inner thoughts stated...

This is the second part of a book I started reading and enjoying very much. Here both characters start to get emotionally involved and Emily finally gives her virginity to Dylan after signing a new contract and although she is aware that he is her family's enemy, she continues her voyage in discovering her deep desires. Like the previous, this book is involving and overwhelming and I really am anxiously awaiting the grand finale.

This is the second book in the series and I do recommend reading them in order. Both Dylan and Emily/Stephanie have secrets they are hiding. What will happen when the truth comes out. Fast-paced read with great characters, loads of drama and plenty of twists and turns that will keep you hooked from beginning to end. I can’t wait for more! I loved it!

Dark Rules is second installment in the Dark Desire series. A steamy full-length standalone romance with no cheating and ends on cliffhanger. An exquisitely written story with extraordinary characters and a passion filled storyline that grabs your attention from the start and keeps you hooked and invested in the characters and turning the pages until the mind-blowing cliffhanger. A gripping, raw, enthralling story.
The story picks up where it left in Dark Desire. Emily and Dylan relationship is going along great as he takes her to even greater heights and tests her limits in the confinement of their contract. Dylan doesn't do relationships and that is the reason why he enters into a contract. However, the more time he spends with Emily he realize that he's getting attached and he starts developing feelings that he didn't plan on.
Emily is also falling in love with him and hopes that he do away with contracts all together and just have a normal relationship with her. Their two weeks contract is near it's end and Dylan started to distance himself a little bit from Emily because of his growing feelings. They're both hiding secrets from each other that could be catastrophic to their relationship and possibly tear them apart. Emily finds out his identity and discovered that she was sleeping with her family's enemy. The torn and doesn't know what to do because she knows that her body yearns for him and she can't do without his touch. Emily and Dylan was on a date when her brother saw them, things got messy when she got home when her brother started to belittle her. She finallly stood up to him instead of being a doormat and this is impart to being with Mr. Dark who brings out a different more stronger side of her. She knows that her relationship is going to cost her family because they're unforgiving, her only hope is that Dylan is worth everything that she go through. Her family does the unthinkable and tells her to choose. But she has to go with her heart because all her life her family has treated her like crap.
Their contract ends and they decides to enter into another one. They delved even deeper in the BDSM world she's become great submissive she wants a relationship but he doesn't even though he cares for her. Another contract ends and he tries to enter into a third but Emily said no because their goals aren't aligned because she's looking for a commitment and someone who's willing to love her. He said that if she doesn't sign another contract that they can't be anything with each other. Emily walked away from him and decided to stand on her own two feet and get a job and taking her of herself. Dylan gives her all the love that her family never gave and her body the passion that she never knew. He couldn't get her out of his head and wants another chance.
Their scenes gets more erotic and kinky. Their relationship encounters problems, tension, drama, misunderstandings, heartaches, threats, and filled with secrets, lies, deception, passion, power exchange, lust, hurt, pain, BDSM, kinks, taboo, fear, complications, twist and turns, doubt, despair, love and so much more. Emily wants to disclose her identity but fear the consequences and the loss of Dylan. The story ends on a mind-blowing cliffhanger. This is a great addition to the series. It is utterly addictive and unputdownable a definite page turner that will have you sweating from the heat as you root for the characters. Will she enter into another contract just to continue being with him or will she find another dom?

Emily has made her decision and what a decision it was. Dylan and her are hot and heavy and things could not be better. She is experiencing things she never dreamed of. Only problem is the expiration date that looms closer and she is falling for Dylan. She thinks he feels the same way, but will Dylan want a relationship.

Dylan feels possessive over his pet. He knows the contract end date is getting closer and is not ready for this to end. But Dylan doesn’t do relationships. Another contract will suit his needs just fine. But will she go for it.

Emily has managed to keep her identity a secret from Dylan. Even her family is not aware of the deceit. But can she keep the secret from coming out for much longer?

This second book is absolutely amazing. This dark erotic adventure just gets better and better with each page. The chemistry between Emily and Dylan is so hot! Their story just burns up the pages. He is a Dom in every way and Emily is almost the perfect Sub. I am falling in love with this duo’s story with every page I read. But this dark story took a turn that is devastating and soul crushing. It leaves the reader begging for more. This cannot be the ending of this beloved dark tale.

Overall this book is a steady paced read, that will intrigue the mind. It really dives down deep into the world of sex clubs and the BDSM life style. Definitely a dark read and not for those who are squeamish or not open minded. But if you are open minded and love a good dark erotic seduction, then this story is perfect for you. The characters are dark and interesting. The sex is hot. It will leave you wet and breathless. Summer Cooper has created a dark underworld that will draw you in and hold you attention with great rapture. So I suggest you readers grab these books, but start at the beginning. You won’t want to miss one detail of this dark erotic series.

Good things have to come to an end.
Oh my word! When Emily signed the contract but never took it to Dylan's I never expected he would act the way he did to her by denying her sex until he'd seen the contract signed & it was hot. Having said that yes their Dom/sub relationship was hot but she also saw a softer side to him when he talked about his parents & she was there for him in an emotional role aswell not just physical. Everything was going great until one night they were eating out & Trent saw then together, Dylan saw him aswell so he took Emily home still unaware of who she was. She stayed with Dylan a while to avoid going home knowing Trent would be there waiting but she received a vile text from Trent which made her more determined she'd made the right choice by standing up for herself. When it was time for the contract to end Emily was already having deeper feelings for Dylan & although he had told her he didn't do relationships she knew she didn't want a contract. Dylan had spoken to Roxie who told him as much but although he loved being with Emily he wasn't going to do anything without a contract. Things came to ahead when he gave her the new contract which hurt her,they both said hurtful things to each other until Emily couldn't take it anymore & left. They were both in pain feeling the loss of each other, tried to stay strong but then a knock at the door turned her world upside down when Trent was there come to tell her to stay away from Dylan giving her the ultimatum of him or her family saying that even her dad was going to disown her & left. She had no one to call to talk to she had lost her family & the love of her life, I felt like crying with her, god I wanted to kill Trent
I can't wait for the next book to hopefully find out she does get her man.

Ms. Summer Cooper is drawing me into a World I never want to leave.  Dark Rules is the second installment to Dylan and Emily's, aka Stephanie's, love story; of dramatic proportions.   As she fights for the love she wants, while being torn apart by her Family, Dylan still struggles with his first relationship ever.   Dylan believes a contract is necessary, however, Emily just wants him.  Can these two awe inspiring characters get their hearts desire?  


I have been a complete fan girl of Ms. Cooper's for years.  I'm promising you, here and now, Summer Cooper is an Author at the top of her craft and she continually publishes compelling storylines and realistic characters in her books.  While I adore her work, it is this series, that is going to stick with me and I am impatiently awaiting the next release for Emily and Dylan.   


I was beyond fortunate to have requested an advanced reader's copy of Dark Rules in exchange for my honest/voluntarily given opinion and I not only highly recommend this book, but all of her work should be praised.   Please, Ms. Cooper, keep these reads coming.

Dylan and Stephanie (Emily) signed a contract for her to be his submissive for two weeks, then extended it for a further two weeks. When that contract end Dylan wanted to extend again. That was when she refused to sign another contract, what they had was a relationship and that was what she wanted, if he was nor prepared for that then they were finished. Dylan regretted it the minute he handed her the contract but he had to protect her from himself. Stephanie wanted to give into his desires but to be true to herself she had to walk away. She deserved more and she walked. I was captivated by this story, their dom/submissive relationship worked both ways and it was their lack of honesty that was their undoing. They had so much in common that there relationship was good for both of them and lack of faith in themselves, I felt sad for this ending and hope they reunite in the next book.

Emily aka Stephanie continues her love affair with Dylan. They end up extending their contract when Dylan has a family emergency and it seems like everything is going well between them. Then when she is out with Dylan she notices her brother on the beach with his family. She knows that as soon as he sees them that there is going to be problems. All she could hope for was Dylan would be worth the risk of losing everything else in her life. When she refuses so sign a third contract with Dylan they have an explosive fight and she walks away. Will Dylan see that they are already having a relationship and go to her? Will she drop her family because of how they treat her?

This is an amazing story that will draw you in from the first page. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover. Warning this ends with a cliff hanger.

Have you ever had to choose between the man you believe you love or your over berating family. Emily has been put in that position know that her family has found out who she been seeing they say it him or them what is a girl to do and the man she supposedly loves does even know her real name. Dylan life has been twisting and turning since he was young so he has a problem with relationship ,but a young blond comes into his life he can't decied if the contract they have be them is considered a relationship in his eye now he just has to get Stephanie aka emily to that in her eyes . Will these to be able to hash this all out and when the truth comes out from both sides will either of them be able to handle it or will there be a falling out only time will tell. I received this book as a arc for a honest review and I can say that it has a lot of heart and . A lot of people who don't want to look deep inside there heart to see what they really need is each other to be happy.

Feelings are developing on both sides as Stephanie and Dylan continue with a 2-week contract. Dylan is hoping to get her out of his system so he can resume his normal life. Only it doesn’t seem to be that easy! Stephanie is coming into her own and learning all she can about the lifestyle. She has learned that by being a brat, she gets the punishment she seems to crave and she finds that Dylan loses some control!

How far can this go though? Emily is keeping a secret from Dylan about her true identity and Dylan has a past that has everyone calling him a murderer. On one of their dates, Emily sees her older brother Trent and knows that she is in trouble. Her brother is furious when he confronts her at her house and promises to ban her from the family if she continues the relationship. Dylan wants to do another longer contract, but this is not what Emily wants.

This is the second book in this series about Emily (aka Stephanie) and Dylan. Thankfully Emily is finally thinking about herself versus her family and doing what she wants. She is trying something new and totally different from anything she has ever known and is loving it. This was only supposed to be a two week deal with Dylan but she wants more. He wants more too though is afraid not move forward without a another contract? What will happen if their secrets come out? will it be HEA or devastation? I am thoroughly enjoying this series. I can't believe what a putz Emily's brother Trent is. The story has good character development and a storyline that keeps you reading well into the night. Can't wait to see where this story goes from here.

This book continues where Dark Desire left me panting and wanting to know what happened next. Well, I got part of my wish but this book leaves me with more questions abour Emily/Stephanie, Dylan and the involvement in the other Thompson brothers. Dylan was everything Emily dreamed about but with the happiness, there is sadness when she realizes that all she may be is a "contract" for Dylan. She knows he has "feelings" for her but "he doesn't do relationships". Can they overcome the obstacles that continue to get in the way of their "relationship"? This book leaves me hungry for more of Emily's story and Summer Cooper has left this story in a place that makes me nervous. When is the next book in the series or maybe there will be more than one before I get to know how things end....

Dylan is still scared of his attraction to Stephanie (Emily) and since he has never had a relationship, he doesn't know what to do besides get another contract. But when the contract ends, what happens? Will Dylan admit his true feelings for Stephanie? Can he?

Emily continues to hide her true identity from Dylan. She wants to tell Dylan about her feelings, but fears he may end whatever it is they have and she wants him in her life. But when a contract is too much, what will they do? Can they fix it? Can they get out of their own heads long enough to see what they really want?

This is the second in the series and it keeps getting better and better. This has so much nonstop action, drama, love, lust, exploration, sexuality and chemistry. I can't wait for the next one!!! I received an ARC of this book from the author.

Book 2 continues with Emily & Dylan. They have a short-term contract wherein Emily ventures deeper into her deepest darkest desires. Dylan continues to introduce her into the BDSM world of desires. What was supposed to end at the end of the contract, he wants her for a longer time period but she says no.

So crank up the A/C as this is one HOT book! Guaranteed to curl your toes & keep you riveted in reading this book in one sitting. Unfortunately, this is a cliffhanger & you're going to have to read the next blockbuster book by Summer Cooper. She has the talent with words coming to life. You'll literally feel wrapped up in their story, wondering if Emily will find true love in Dylan or if she will find another man who will be comparable to him.

It's Even Better

This second Dark series book is even better than the first. Although Emily/Stephanie and Dylan began their relationship with a contract, and the expectation on both their parts that it would end with the contract, it just didn't work that way. Neither of them can control the emotional entanglement that came with the extremely compatible sexual one.

The main problem is that both continue to hide major aspects of their history and personal lives from the other. Each of them feeling that because of the contractual nature and anticipated conclusion of their time together, they can't push the other to open up and reveal their deepest secrets.

As I had hoped and expected, the storyline and character development continues to progress really well, and I can't wait to learn what happens next.

I find it exciting to read "Emily's" perspective in the Super Story. She is very self-assured and knows what she wants. I like her cheeky attitude and enjoy every moment of her character development. On the other hand, Dylan seems to enjoy being dominant, but he also comes across as very insecure. However, I found the tension between the two of them to be very well done.

The spicy scenes were described very well. I am curious to see how the story will continue. I look forward to the next parts and hope that Dylan doesn't remain a complete idiot and admits his feelings for Emily aka Stephanie.

Likewise, I find it unacceptable how Trent treats her and hope that in the next part, Dylan gives him a real beating so that he realizes that you can't treat people that way, especially not his sister. I am intrigued.

CONTRACT...DENIED!!!
Decisions, Anxiety, excitement, and heat play a dominating roll in this addictive addition to this amazing series that just continues to get better with page turning drama and Oh so Good hot chemistry. I was all warm and fuzzy(content). And then the words explode into a flurry of spiraling chaos. An uncomplicated relationship stirring in the vulnerability of getting emotionally invested when feelings are not allowed turns explosive and painful. The darn suspense is going to be my undoing from the powerful cliffhanger that made my heart rate increase for the entirety of the last chapter sending me into a fit of Helll Nooo!!! You Can Not leave me hanging like this. I Soooo have got to have more. A fantastic must read.

ONE DAZZLING DELIGHT!!!
Woah hot shot! Talk about misinterpretation. A wild rollercoaster ride packed with unexpected circumstances and surprises that catapults all of your emotions bursting into play with this fascinating storyline and intriguing plot. All the drama, angst, danger and suspense make for one incredible experience. Twists and turns, ups and downs, along with a few bumps and bruises bring this baby together smoothly. One non-stop action packed, fast paced, page flipping delight that grabs your attention and holds it until the last page. The characters and scenes are written in true to life form it brings this little guy bursting to life delightfully. Amazing job Summer, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.

This is part two in this series and we are back with Dylan and Emily/Stephanie. Here we are with another contract. In the first book and in the beginning of this book, I’m not 100% convinced that she wants any more from him than the second contract. These two mesh so well together and I’m not even sure they realize how good they have it. The BDSM is extremely light and she wants so much more. Feelings are starting to get murky. The last two chapters were EXPLOSIVE! I never realized how ugly Trent was as a person. I always thought after he married that he’d soften up towards his stepsiblings a little but obviously not.

Fantastic story line! I loved the anticipation. I can’t wait for the third part of the series.

Book #2 spends a lot more time in each of the characters brain matter, instead of actual action. This books focus is on the way their relationship makes them feel versus the escapades they embark on. I am still unsure if I am a fan of this series- the lead female is nice enough, but I don’t identify with her. This is the story of how a relationship forms after they entered into it as a ‘one time thing.’

Her siblings don’t seem to be well rounded characters at all. They behave and act as flat cardboard cutouts. I was expecting to see a little bit more character development from all characters, but found that only Dylan was rounded out.

Not sure where the third book is going, it I’ll see it through to the end. Right now I could either love the series or hate it.

This book was better than book 1. Emily and Dylan relationship/contract is moving along, but they are developing real feelings for one another and Dylan especially tries to resist. He insists on a new 2 week contract in the attempt to keep feelings out. But when Emily discovers who he really is and he tries yet again he wants a contract, she walks away. Her family tries again to manipulate her and Dylan wants her back. There is a lot going on, sometimes things get a little muddy. Dylan still doesn't know who she really is and who her family is. They are in this BDSM relationship based on a bunch of lies. Better, but still??.

I had to read this in one sitting, but it made me sad and now I have to wait for the next book. This is the book where Emily loses her virginity and it is very very sexy, in fact the whole book is very sexy and hot but there are so many secrets that Emily and Dylan each have but they won’t share them and that leads to most of their problems. Emily’s family, and in particular Trevor, is equally a problem and is the cause of much of Emily’s concerns. Dylan’s fear of relationships is the cause of most of Emily’s unhappiness and as he is discovering, much of his too. They both need to come clean but will they? I hope so.

I loved this book even more than the first one (though you have to read that one first or this one makes no sense). Emily and Dylan are growing closer, even though Emily's family would not be happy to learn that she is dating the enemy. Dylan, though, is not a relationship kind of guy and he does not know how to change. He realizes that his relationship with Emily is more than dom/sub, but he doesn't know how to do it any other way. When things come to a head everyone is going to lose.

Wow, this series is getting better. Summer brings out the best in BDSM, it feels more sexual and loving, instead of degrading. There are so many feelings going on. Emily has had enough of her family using her and not caring, that she goes to a club of desire. Dylan is a businessman that an be ruthless. Can he give her what she wants? Can he teach her what she desires? What will happen if the my family finds out I'm sleeping with the enemy? What will Dylan do if he finds out who my family is? Can she keep seeing him without a contract or will he always want one no matter what? I received a free copy for my honest review.

Can you say no if it feels right? Emily and Dylan continue their story in this book and what a book it is. They both start to feel more for each other than planned but Dylan is the enemy and wants to take everything away from Emily and her family. Will this put a damper on the chemistry these two have? Can you be with someone you know is bad for you but makes you feel so good?? Maybe, Maybe Not.. You won't know until you read the book. This is the second book in the series and just as well written as the first one.

There is a love/hate relationship with this book and it isn't between the characters. Nope, it's all me. I LOVE the story-line, characters, angst and drama. I absolutely HATE the cliffhangers! I want to know what's happening right now. I want to be able to lock myself in a room and read this story completely. Unfortunately that's not the case. I have to wait for the next installment. Luckily Ms. Cooper isn't going to make us wait too long....I hope.

Dylan and Emily I absolutely love this dark Central Sexy story this was fabulous this is the second book in the series Emily is finally doing something for herself and she decided to try something and do what she wants instead of everything for her family this is one hot panty melting deliciously sexy dark story definitely will get your pulse racing I recommend this book five stars summer Cooper has done it again she did not disappoint I would love some of Dylan's action myself
