Librarian Note: There is more than one author in the GoodReads database with this name. See this thread for more information.

Armed with books in the crook of my elbow, I can go anywhere. That’s my philosophy! Better yet, I’ll write the books that will take me on an adventure.

My heroes are a bit broken but will make you swoon. My heroines are their own kick-ass characters armed with humor and a plethora of sarcasm.

If I’m not tucked away in my writing den, with coffee firmly gripped in hand, you can find me with a book propped on my pillow, a pit bull lying across my legs, a Lab on the floor next to me, and two kittens running amuck.

My current adventure has me living in Idaho with my own gray-bearded hero, who’s put up with my shenanigans for over thirty years, and he doesn’t mind all my book boyfriends.
If you love romance, suspense, military men, lots of action and adventure infused with emotion, tear-worthy moments, and laugh-out-loud humor, dive into my books and let the world fall away at your feet.

That's book three in the Next August series. This book it's about Sam - August's best friend (the main hero from book one and two).
Kelly Moore is my master in creating hero development. We met Sam in book one as almost a boy, that was very cheerful and loving. Next, in book two he is thought one lesson that August told him always to do - check person you are introducing to your family, but he was too trusting towards TR. After events from book two - Sam is devastated and run away.
He settles in the small town where he tries to live and forgive himself for everything that had happened to August and Nash. Let's add to it young, beautiful women that due to loss of her sight and taking care of her little sister Tennyson (Kelly Moore loves unusual names - that makes reading even better).
Every person in this book is really developed and behaves like every one of us would. Sam with his reaction toward Emma was SO SWEET. He would do everything for her. Emma can be blind but she can see your soul! I loved their relationship! So deep, sweet and real!
If there will be more books in this series/from Kelly Moore I will read it for sure.

Healing is what Kelly Moore writes into the entertaining delivery of stories she crafts. Her characters are dynamic, you get to know them more as you read and miss them long after the story ends. I think Seeing Sam is my favorite of the August Series. Why? Because Moore weaves the parallel message that personal tragedies are really not personal at all. Characters tell the story of how every life event directly or indirectly influences the outcomes of other lives. Tragedy affects ALL those connected to the ones we love and care for deeply. Main characters, Sam and Emma, each have histories to resolve and new events to overcome as their relationship grows which only make them stronger --more deeply in love-- as they begin their lives as a family. I say well done. Your books allow me to escape under the guise of entertainment but also challenge me to reflect on my own humanity. Thank you for such a good read Kelly Moore. --geneva

Caution! You'll need an entire box of tissues to read this book!
Poor Sam had been through so much in his life already. You can't blame him for being a bonehead when it comes to love. 😏 He seems like the perfect guy to Emma, until Sam spends too much time in his own head. It's possible that he ruins the best thing that ever happened to him...or it might not be too late. You should definitely buy this book and find out!

I can't thank Kelly Moore enough for giving me more Sam!

I have loved Sam from his very first appearance in NEXT AUGUST, through his struggles in THIS AUGUST, and now watching him mature and grow into a strong, independent man falling in love in SEEING SAM.

Emma is a resilient, strong, selfless woman and the perfect heroine for Sam.
Emma's little sister Tennyson was an adorable character, but the animals really were a wonderful, creative addition to the story. Sam's pet goat Sadie walking on a leash, to Emma's seeing eye dog and Bacon, August's pet pig just made me happy!

Thank you so much, Kelly Moore for the ARC and for allowing me the privilege of giving Sam a last name! You did a magnificent job with him, and I hope to see Sam and the rest of the crew again sometime in the future!

Trusting the wrong person had consequences and Sam is being torn apart by guilt. Even though nobody holds him responsible he needs to be on his own to deal with what happened. Sam has always been a gentle and caring person and it's his kindness that almost took the lives of his best friends. Now Sam is living a secluded life in a small town and works freelance. His only company is his goat Sadie and this is just the way he likes it. Sam has never been in love before, but that changes as soon as he sees Emma. He instantly falls in love with her. However, finding your soulmate does not erase your secrets. Sam and Emma are both hiding things that could possibly mean the end of their newfound romance. Will their pasts make them stronger or will they break them apart?

Sam was just a boy when a tragic accident almost took his life. He fully recovered and gained a friend for life in August. August has always been there for him, but now the time has come for Sam to stand on his own two feet. I was introduced to Sam for the first time in Next August and I loved this strong man from the beginning. He has a good heart and always tries to see the best in others. Sam is a grown up man now and he has become a wonderful person. He always puts others first and will do anything for the people he loves. Sam is not a little kid anymore and I liked to read about his journey into adulthood. He is truly beautiful, both inside and out.

Emma learned how to cope with life after a brutal murder took her parents away from her and her little sister. Both of them are living with their grandmother now and Emma has opened her own shop. Emma's best friend helps them out a lot and Emma is very grateful for everything he has done for them. Emma is drop dead gorgeous and the sweetest person in the whole world. She's a classic beauty and her looks match her big loving heart. I admired how Emma deals with her daily struggles. She's really close to her family and I loved the way they interact with each other. It is impossible not to love Emma and I think she's a perfect match for Sam.

Seeing Sam has been special for me from the beginning. Kelly Moore has given me the honor of naming her female main character and she understood my vision of Emma right away. Kelly Moore's stories are always full of emotion, but sadness never has the upper hand. Seeing Sam shows how much passion Kelly Moore has for her characters and how much she loves each and every one of them. I often had tears in my eyes while reading this story, but I also laughed so much. I loved to read about Sam again and his story is a perfect addition to the Next August series. Kelly Moore is one of my favorite authors and I highly recommend any book that she has ever written.

Another great book by Kelly Moore and once again tissues were needed while reading this story. We met Sam in the August series and we finally find out where he went after what happened in This August. The story continues after a few years that he has been away and even if you haven't read the previous books...though highly recommended reads....you won't feel lost but will lose out on reading August and Nash's story.
Sam has now been on his own and trying to become his own man, not relying on others, trying to find himself and then he meets Emma and he finally understands what "love at first sight" means. Emma is beautiful, kind, selfless and w/o spoiling anything she sees Sam as the man he is and them together brings out the best in each other. But Sam is hiding his condition from her, he doesn't want to burden her and when he makes his final decision about them, he risks losing her forever.
An emotional roller coaster of a ride between these two, heartache, heartbreak, love, selfless acts and stubbornness with both of them that at times I wanted to throw my kindle away and scream but those are the emotions that this talented author evokes from me in every book that she has written, so I knew what I was getting into and I wouldn't change it. The journey between the two was rough and at times I didn't really like Emma because of the way she treated and shut Sam out, I was hoping for her to be there for him while he went through his tough times but I can understand why since he wasn't there for her when she went through her own.
Even with all the above I couldn't not give it less than 5 stars as the journey to their HEA, even with all the tissues needed, was well worth it! Now I will patiently wait for Anna's story (hint, hint), not only to read about her but too also catch up on the rest of these amazing characters, Sam, Emma, Tennyson, Chase as well as August and Nash as I can't help but wanting read about all of them in their futures.

If you read This August in the August series you will remember Sam. He and Sam were best friends and Sam brought TJ into August and Nashville's life. TJ caused so much trouble and Sam could not forgive himself. Sam left and moved to Mt. Dora, Florida to find himself. His operation has helped him to walk, but he is starting to have problems again with his legs. He is in town one day and sees a beautiful woman in a dress shop across the street. A man with a young child comes into her shop, kisses her on the cheek and the little girl hugs her. Sam is sad as he thinks she is married and she is the first woman in a long time that he feels interested in. Sam finally talks to her and finds out a few things--her name is Emma Flynn, she is blind, the man who kissed her is Chase who is her best friend who is gay and the little girl is her younger sister Tennyson. Since Emma is blind, her other senses are much more acute. She can tell that Sam is a good man. Sam begins to take Emma out for picnics, to his home, to his lake and other places along with her sister.

Sam is still trying to come to terms with his part in what happened with August and Nash. He is understanding what August told him about how he would feel when he found the right woman to love. Emma only lost her eye sight five years ago which there is a story behind that. She also lost her parents and has a man threatening her. This was a great book that I felt all the feelings of the characters in the book. The love that Sam and Emma felt was so strong and wonderful. I loved Tennyson who was a loving little girl that also knew how to get her way most of the time. She was such a bright spot in all of their lives. Unfortunately Sam kept a secret from Emma that ended causing some heart break. This story had wonderful friendships, giving hearts, secrets, intrigue, broken hearts, and so much love. I strongly encourage you to read the book. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book.

Although you could get away with reading Seeing Sam as a standalone but what fun would that be. You first met Sam in Next August then again in This August. I loved Sam in both books. Seeing Sam is my favorite!!! Sam is swoon worthy. If you have read the series thus far then you'll want continue reading it. Sam and Emma story is freaking amazing! Tragic has happened in their past but they dont let that define them now. They will prove it to themselves, one another and others how determined they are. I could feel the love between Sam and Emma so when that one thing happened (I know boo me, no spoilers lol) I was crying because I just wanted it to go a certain way. Plus I was happy to see Anna, Nash, August and the other characters in this book. You won't be disappointed reading Seeing Sam.

Could there be an Anna book? Or A George and Tennyson book after they have grownup? Ideas, Ideas, Ideas 😉 More, I need more in the Next August series Kelly 😉😘

Yay - we finally get Sam's story. Throughout the series Sam has been a special part in August's life. We have seen this boy suffer, struggle, fight and now grow stronger into a confident man out on his own. Sam is trying to find his way in life after the hurt he has been through by the hands of what he thought was a good friend. Three years have gone by and Sam has been living in Florida knowing there is something he has to do. Once he sets his eyes on Emma he knows he's found his love. Emma is living with a disability that if fixed could bring her past back to hurt her. Sam's mission is to help Emma all while ignoring his own pain and past. These two have so much love for each other, but then Sam walks away from her and makes decisions that hurt them both deeply. After months of living with a broken heart Emma moves on with her life. Will Sam and Emma find their way back? This book had me feeling all their struggles and pain, but it was all so worth it! I loved Sam's story!

Sam still feels guilty and has not forgiven himself for introducing someone into his best friend’s August life that caused such destruction that they barely survived. Even though no one else blames him he has decided that he needs to be alone so he moved away and has minimal contact with anyone else.

Emma has experienced tragedy in her life as well but her experiences have made her stronger and she now owns her own shop. She is very close to her family and she lives with her sister and grandmother and is as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.

From the moment Sam saw Emma he knew that she was his other half however will the secrets that each of them bear bring them closer or tear them apart?

I loved the characters of both Sam and Emma as they are perfect for each other. They are both such good people and they would do anything for those they love. This story will make you laugh and cry and the author has a way of connecting you to the characters that is second to none. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

All I can say is WOW! This story was so great! Sam still can't forgive himself for bringing TR into August & Nash's lives so he moves to find himself. He moves to a small town in Florida. He meets a blind woman and they fall in love. What follows is so great. They form a strong bond together. Sam helps save Emma's sister from being murdered from the man who killed their parents. SAm loves Emma so much he pays for the operation to save her eyesight, while doing without the one he needs. He thinks he is aving Emma from having to deal with a cripple so he leaves her. Emma tracks him down and is mad that he made the decision for her.I liked how August guilded him back to himself and Nash getting all up his case on his treatment of Emma. It was a great story of love and forgiveness.

Seeing Sam was phenomenal. I loved how he grew into a changed man, stronger, wiser, and more confident than the broken man he was at the end of This August (Book 2). He meets Emma, and he gets a taste of what true love is, how amazing matters of the heart can be. But his secret and his past may come back to haunt him and threaten his newfound happiness. What will happen when he makes his choice? With life and love comes pain, and I absolutely loved how Kelly Moore wrote Sam's story. Seeing Sam is a perfect title for this book about healing, growth, and doing one's best to weather the storm for love. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I loved everything about this book (and the series) Sam is passionate and kind and finding himself. Emma is sweet and selfless and dealing with some major life blows. Separately I loved them, together they're off the charts. Reding them finding their way broke my heart and pieced it back together again a few times. Kelly Moore has quickly become one of my favorite authors and I can honestly say I have loved everything she's written that I've read so far. This book needs to be added to your TBR.

From the moment I started reading Sam's story, I knew I couldn't stop. I could feel the raw emotions that flew out of Kelly for Sam & Emma. If you haven't read any of Kelly's August series, puck them up now because you won't be disappointed. Then make sure you read this one too so you can understand just how far Sam has come & grown. The love scenes were steamy yet filled with so much passion that you won't want to miss this. Great job Kelly!!

I wanted to kill Sam since the beginning...maybe since the end of This August!
He blamed himself for things that were beyond his control, and he left.

He met a sweet girl later...and that is when the book really started.

Loved the story. Sweet girl, confused Sam. Great side characters, and as I am getting used to with this author...an unexpected evil that will keep you in your toes!
Another good book. You can read this as standalone, but it would be much better if you first go to #1 and 2

There are not words to adequately describe how I feel about this series and this book. Phenominal doesn"t seem enough but it is correct. Kelly Moore has such a talent with writing a story and making you a part of it as you are reading. The story unfolds as if it is happening all around you. The emotions are so intense and heartfelt. Tissues are needed but in the best way. This book is absolutely a must read. A one click purchase. To find out what happens with Sam and Emma get your copy today. Take the journey with them. They don't have smooth sailing but real life issues and to see how that plays out is so worth it. I am voluntarily leaving this review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.

Seeing Sam is book three in the August Series by Kelly Moore. Sam was a secondary character from this series, but this character was so lovable that everyone wanted more of Sam! When we saw Sam in August and Nash's books, Sam was young and sweet. But once Sam left home looking for himself, he really grew up and learned to become his own man.
So many things happen with this character. He learns to live on his own without help from August. He meets and falls in love for the first time, and the girl he falls for is just as lovable as he is. They are the perfect couple.
As with many of Kelly Moore's books, it isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Sam has a big decision to make, and after he makes it, he has repercussions to deal with. Emma is head over heels in love with Sam and she doesn't care what he hid from her. She want's every piece of him, but Sam doesn't see it that way.
This is the perfect ending to this series. Usually when secondary characters get their own spin off, I read to get more about the series' main characters, but that wasn't the case with this book. Sam is just one of those characters that draw you in, making you forget about any other character. When Sam is one the pages, you pay attention because he is so real and sweet, you can't focus on anything but him.
Kelly Moore did an excellent job with this book and giving Sam the chance to tell his story. If you loved Sam in August and Nash's books, you have to read this one!!

Although I loved the plot of Sam’s story, I found myself so frustrated with his stubborn character, wanting to jump into the book and strangle him. I wanted to scream, “how can you mess up something so perfect,” but this is what makes a great story in my eyes. I quickly engaged and related to the characters feeling drawn into their joys and sorrows throughout the novel. The dialogue between characters was honest and real making the characters almost jump off the page and feel as if you know them. The plot moved quickly with plenty of surprises giving the reader suspense mixed with romance, but a good portion of this novel deals with love, trust, and believing in yourself, as well as, the person that you love.

I have nothing but the highest praise for Kelly Moore and her upcoming novel, Seeing Sam. Moore has a magical ability at weaving romance, suspense, moral challenges, and physical challenges among the characters resulting in an absolute must-read novel. I cannot wait to see what comes next from this amazing author, perhaps Anna’s story??

Loved this book! After putting his best friends in danger, Sam runs off to find himself and the man he wants to be, only to have his past medical problems slowly come back. Meeting Emma was love at first sight for him. Her big heart and caring ways swallowed him in, her looks and the chemistry they share being a bonus, not caring that she couldn't physically see him. Putting his pain aside, he is selfless in the act of selling his property and paying for the surgery she needs to get her sight back, but becomes selfish by not wanting to burden her with his condition he has to face yet again. When she finds him, physically sees him for the first time, she sees his true colors come out and it breaks her heart. After his friends give him the ugly truth, he finds himself back in surgery and working hard to find himself again and fight for what he loves.

Highly suggest this whole series! It's amazing and you won't be disappointed.

Seeing Sam is my favorite of the Next August series and that is saying something as I LOVED Next August when August and Nash first get together.

Firstly, I love the cover of this book and I can see the significance to the storyline.  Seeing Sam flowed easily, the build up was perfect and it jumped time at the right moments.

Two moments in this story brought me to tears and had me full of apprehension, both times Sam is heading to New York City!

Sam is the one character in this whole series that has evolved into a magnificent human being.  To remember him as a young boy with August climbing those walls and meeting Nash and how in this story he has grown into a man.

Emma was a simply beautiful soul and then add in Tennyson and what an amazing way for Sam to find his peace.

There are a few moments of suspense and drama that complete this story.  Sam finally finds his own family and it was lovely to see Nash and August play their part.

Sometimes the only forgiveness that matters is forgiving yourself. Love can save us all. Sam is willing to give up everything once he finds her. His reason for being, the reason he has been searching for. Only through her can he truly see himself. His love for her knows no bounds, he's even willing to give her up to give her back the one thing that he can give her. Seeing Sam through her eyes and the eyes of everyone that loves him is a beautiful story with twists and turns that keep you hanging on page after page. It is the third book in the August series. In my opinion a must read series.

Make sure you have a box (or two) of tissues handy before you start reading this book. Kelly Moore is one of the best authors that I have read that knows how to touch your heart. She doesn't just write a sappy love story. She intricately weaves the plot and characters so you are sucked in, and leaves you wanting more at the end. Each character has a story. Even if you've never experienced what the characters have, you still feel a personal connection to them. I am a huge fan of Kelly Moore, and I will definitely be reading more of her books!
