I desire revenge. And I’ll risk death for his touch…
The mere brush of his fingers along my skin sends shivers up my spine.
I never thought I’d fall for an alpha like Holden, and I can’t decide who I hate more—Holden for murdering my brother, or myself for the way my body reacts to him.
I told him I’d die before competing in this outdated competition. There’s already nineteen other women determined to become the alpha’s mate. And they’re prepared to fight to the death for Holden.
The only reason I’m here is my pack wants me gone. It’s this or exile, and I won’t risk not seeing my sister again.
Holden has made me promise to play fair. Under no circumstances am I to fake anything.
But there’s no faking how much I hate him. Or how much I crave his touch. And I’ll kill anyone who gets in my way…
In this story, the hero, Holden is set to take over as all the Northern Alpha (the alpha that controls the North American packs), in several months' time, and in order to do that he needs to first claim a mate.
To help Holden pick his mate a "Contention" is held. A female representative is required to be sent from each of the North American packs to compete in the Contention to be Holden's mate. That ends up being twenty wolves competing to be the alpha's mate. And that is what the contention is, a competition between the female wolves. One that can get violent and can be deadly.
Kayden is one of the females competing in the Contention, but she didn't want to be there, at least not at first. Her and Holden have a rocky beginning, but they are drawn to each other. Their romance builds over the course of the story as Kayden fights to stay in the Contention.
I found the Contention to be an archaic way to find a mate. Pitting the woman against each other like that got ugly. I really disliked one of the female wolves in the Contention. She was a spoiled, selfish, manipulative bully. She would have been a horrible alpha's mate. What's worse is that Holden didn't see it. He thought she would make a great alpha mate. That really bugged me. I get that he didn't see her at her worst most of the time, but he definitely saw moments of it.
Overall, I really liked Fated To The Alpha Bachelor. It grabbed my attention from the very first page and held it all the way through. My heart went out to Kayden and to Holden as well, to a certain extent. She was fighting for what was rightfully hers and he was bound by the rules of the Contention.
I look forward to the next book in the series.

Kaden does not like the North American pack, Alpha; she is selected for The Bachelor Shifter style; to see who will become the Alpha's Luna (Mate) and help run the North American packs. She makes her stance known from the beginning and is a bit unlikeable. And by a bit, a lot. Naturally, this catches the eye of the Alpha and... you can probably guess where things go from there.
The book was eh... I didn't mind reading it. I did not leave wanting to read more.
Holden will be the future King of Northern Alphas, leading all North American packs. Instead of looking for the best qualities needed in the mate of such a King, they held an archaic competition for the twenty women candidates who will tackle difficult challenges to win the “honor” of being Holden’s mate.
Kayden is not interested in competing for an alpha. Her own alpha put her in the competition just to get rid of her. But she won’t let the females kick her around and intends to rise up to each challenge. Holden is the reason her brother is dead, so she has no desire to become his. When the competitors reveal they will kill each other to win, it changes things and Kayden will have to fight. And Holden has made a discovery as well. Will Kayden win the competition? Or has the choice already been made?
this is a 5 star in terms of wolf shifters books** which if you don’t read a lot of shifter books this is probs like a avg 3 star in terms of normal books but in terms of shifter books which the concepts always great but the writing or plot not so much this was truly SO FUN.
It’s more of a 2.5 star book. I dislike The Bachelor under the best of circumstances and making the contestants wolves did the author no favours.
Much like the tv show, the characters in the book are very selfish and unpleasant people. The fact that Holden couldn’t comprehend that Sydnee was a fundamentally bad person made me question his competence. In fact, everyone except Kayden and her sister seemed to have highly questionable intellectual capacity and a total lack of morality. Hey, it’s fine for a woman to orchestrate the injury and deaths of multiple other women because the rules don’t specifically prohibit maiming and homicide, but we are going to have to discuss whether the only person who tried to stop the killing broke the rules. Oh, well. What are you going to do? As for Sydnee’s motivations behind manipulating and facilitating murder, she has none. By the time Holden tells Karen that he wants to marry Sydnee and keep Kayden, his mate, as a side piece, I genuinely wondered what Kayden saw in him.
Frankly, Kayden would have been better off taking over as alpha of her pack and leaving Holden and all of the people who thought the contest was a reasonable idea in the rear view.

They might have dragged her out kicking and screaming, but little did they know just what or who they were up against.
No way was Kaden going to degrade herself by trying out for the big luna competition, especially since the grand prize was to be the ‘king’ alpha’s mate … the very wolf who killed her brother. Nope, Kayden had other plans.
But things can change quickly, as Kayden finds out. Not everything is black and white. She learns there’s more than one way to skin a cat … errr, wolf. And trust me, there’s many that need that skinning, starting with the treacherous Branson, alpha of her home pack. Let’s just hope his bite is every bit as gruff as his bark. If it’s not, well, all I can say is poor Branson. And let’s not leave out Madison and Sydnee, two of the 19 contenders for the luna title. Sometimes the only way to learn is the hard way.
Oh, and DO NOT expect Kaden to follow the plan… well, that is… the written plan. She’s shrewd and strategic…. she makes her own plans. Kaden may sound tough but she has a heart of gold. She just doesn’t put up with a lot of petty she wolves nonsense. You’ll see what I mean as you are being entertained reading this story.
Let’s just hope Holden, that future King of Northern Alphas, realizes pretty soon that rules are made to be broken.
🤔 THOUGHTS AND OBSERVATIONS
✒︎ “I just don’t get it. Out of all the people he could have kept around, why her? She’s vile and manipulative. How Holden could think she’d be a good wife is beyond me.” Tsk, tsk … Holden, you’re too smart to have Sydnee in the top three contenders. Remember, she is a backstabber. Is that what you want in a luna?
✒︎ Cutthroat luna???? Is that what is needed? Haw about a shrewd but caring luna rather than cutthroat like Sydnee. How was a smart future alpha like Holden so easy to fool?
✒︎ Kayden had to be Super Wolf to take all the the fights that came her way AND still be in shape to fight again in those Contention battles. I kept wondering where her cape was.
✒︎ Sydnee knows how to follow the rules? You’ve got to be kidding me Holden. Maybe you should start being that wise and smart alpha-to-be that is planned for you?.

Let me start by saying this book was fantastic! I can’t believe how much I enjoyed it. Without giving any spoilers let me just say the blurb doesn’t do it justice. I fell head of heels in love with Holden! He was so amazing! A hot, strong, confident alpha who wasn’t afraid to show his sensitive side. He was pretty much perfect.
Kayden. What can I say? She was strong, confident, loyal, caring and compassionate. She stood up for herself and wasn’t afraid to disagree with anyone when she thought they were wrong.
Holden and Kayden were perfect together. They were supportive and brought out the very best in each other. They had great chemistry and I was rooting for them the entire time.
This book also has some wonderful secondary characters, especially Holden’s beta and best friend, Garrettt and Kayden’s friend Jessica. I would love to see them both get their own love stories in future books.
In addition to wonderful characters there is also a really engaging and exciting story that kept me on the edge of my seat until almost the very end. I was really worried as it seemed there was no way for them to get their HEA and if I have any complaints about the book, it’s the way the end was a little too easy. But in no way does it lessen how enjoyable this book is. This is a solid five stars!.

Good fast paced read. The Human side of the characters is relatable. Kayden is an itelligent, fiesty woman holding a grudge. Holden is a fair but strong Alpha heir in transition trying to abide by the rules & do his best for his people. The last task for Holden before he takes over from his Father is the Contention. A traditional competition that sees 20 woman ( one from each pack ) compete to become the last one standing who the Alpha heir will then take as his wife/mate Holden isn't impressed by this but it's the rules so begrudgingly he goes along with it. One pack led by a power mad alpha who wants to take control himself hasn't sent a competitor. He grabs Kayden & gives her to Holden to take. So Kayden doesn't want to be there, doesn't want to compete but knows if she returns home her Alpha will most likely kill her. So she decides to engage & fight for a place amongst the final 10 in hopes of being given a position on the Council & sending for her Sister to be able to escape their pack. As seems the case with most of these type of books now, spoilt slightly by bad editing, poor spelling & grammar.
Holden is a fckng idiot. A perfect example of why I prefer the villain. Honestly this book made me so upset. So her brother dies a month ago. She blames Holden. Meets him. And after a few days is basically in love with him?
Then there’s what an alphas wife should be. One moment she should just stand by her husband always supporting him. Next she should be the only one who challenges him and questions him if she doesn’t agree with his choices. But she should also do as she’s told? So the alpha is not allowed to be with his fated mate. Because apparently he will then put her before the pack. Whatever. So now Holden is all confused and whatever. Kayden is being supportive and voicing her opinion. And he’s all like “ this is why we shouldn’t be with our fated mate because I want to follow her advice”. How horrible.
He literally does not even try to reassure her of his feelings. Even suggested she be his mistress. But then he’s like ah you she will come around and realise I do care. Like bro? Are you serious? I finished this book but I will not be reading the rest of the series.
On the verge of being cast out by her alpha, Kayden is forced to take part in a competition when it is decided that the females will compete to become the mate of Holden, the bachelor alpha.
With revenge for what happened to her brother in mind, she sets out to win the competition, hating every moment, but refusing to let the others get the better of her. What she hadn't considered was just how far the other women would be prepared to go to win.
With outside forces battling against the fated mates being together, Holden and Kayden will have to fight those outside and inside their circles and show them things need to change and that some rules are meant to be broken and overturned.
With secrets, betrayals and misunderstandings being thrown at them from all sides, Kayden soon learns that all is not as it seems and she will have to make a choice. It's up to Kayden to decide what is more important. Her revenge... or her heart?
This book is the bachelor wolves style. I don’t watch the bachelor but this peaked my interest.
I liked the fact that even though this is the Bachelor, Holden was only kissing one girl. I really enjoyed the fact that Kayden was a strong female character. You rarely get those in books. You get the “strong” FC aka them being extremely angry and hostile at everyone.
The only issues I had with this book is why did Kayden have to continuously prove herself to be worthy of Holden’s wife when none of the others had too? I also do not know why Holden ignored all of what Sydnee was doing, which was wrong on multiple levels but had the nerve to tell Kayden she broke the competition rules when she saved her friend from getting murdered. Kayden hands down was the best competitor there on multiple levels. I also didn’t understand why Kayden had to participate in physical activities while she was injured and that happened multiple times.
Holden is due to become the alpha of all the North American packs, he has been proving himself for months by fighting against challenges to his reign. Now he has to deal with Contention, where one female from each pack competes to be his mate. Kayden is from the only pack to refuse to sent a female. Her alpha is one of those that challenged Holden. Kayden hates her alpha, especially after he was the reason her brother died. But now she has been forced to compete in the Contention competition. She realises that Holden is her mate, but he doesn't want to admit it as a fated mate is forbidden and thought to be a distraction to the alpha of alphas. Can Kayden win the Contention and become Holden mate without everyone finding out they are fated.
This is a shifter fated mate romance story, it is the first book in the series. I enjoyed reading this book and would recommend it.

It was a cute story over all. I did get frustrated with the ML and how he kept ignoring the super red flags for Sydnee! Omg! Seriously? Sydnee was the female version of the bad guy! And the ML really thought she was a good candidate for a mate?! Geez. So many face palms 🤦🏻♀️ anyway, that’s why I don’t watch shows like the batcher. I just couldn’t watch crap like that and still fight for a male who can’t see red flags. Ugh. I liked Kayden. She was strong and held her own. I could feel her frustration when it came to Sydnee. I did feel that some parts were missing (probably because of the exiting) but it wasn’t a deal breaker. I am looking forward to the next books ❤️
Absolutely loved this book, although I will admit did get a little confused at the beginning. What got me to keep reading was the way Kayden and Holden were bringing eachother out of their shells, especially with Holden becoming Alpha of the North American pack and Kayden sturggling with how she feels about him, due to unfortunate circumstances that took place before the book was set. Sorry don't want to give away any spoilers, lol. But honestly the way in which Skye Wilson has managed to put this book together is fantastic and I absolutely loved the ending!
5 stars, excellent reading from start to finish. The plot and storyline for Kayden & Holden kept me captivated from the 1st line to the last line. Who is trying to get rid of Kayden & will the other women competing succeed in trying to kill her if they get the chance? Why does Holden persist in ignoring Kayden when she knows they are fated? If you are a lover of wolf shifter romance that includes high drama then I would highly recommend this book.

PROS - always enjoy competitive challenges and fight to the death competitions.
CONS - The conversations didn’t flow like normal people talking. The conversations came across stiff and too formal. - the bullying seemed too stereotypical. It was forced. - the MMC did not seem intimidating or powerful. He came across as ignorant. - needed to see more backstory on the villain. I didn’t have any good or bad feelings toward him so I didn’t care. It was stated that he was evil but we never see it.
The female lead is a liability to her pack because she speaks out against her alpha, the male lead is soon to become the alpha of all alphas. He needs to find a mate as part of the transition of power, she is offered up as one of the contenders. What follows is a story filled with heat, drama - ok alot of drama cause there are 20 women fighting to become the alphas mate - and a lovely love story.

Shallow. The other contestants were shallow. The MMC Holden was shallow. His parents and everyone involved in the planning of the challenge were shallow.
The only likeable character is the FMC and I'm cringing because I know she's gonna fall for the MMC because of fate or lust or something lame and then I'll have to hate her too.
How many times does she have to prove herself worthy of him??? How about he prove that he is WORTHY OF HER??? Because he isn't.
Although you know the outcome from the beginning, the author put enough twist in to keep it interesting. Of course there is the mean girl squad. The chubby girl that gets picked on, the girl that talks too much and the protagonist who is the poor girl. The object of their desire is the alpha to be of the North American continent. He would be the alpha of all alphas. The competition was twenty women to select his bride.
Slower burn than i usually like, but it did build the relationship more. The sex scenes were a little rushed but seemed to come about naturally. I removed a star because the ending felt very rushed. Suddenly all the laws keeping them apart for 90% of the book magically get erased in a paragraph? Too easy. I also dislike when a mystery is left hanging... who tried to kill her? Overall a solid PNR book that doesn't break the mold but hits all the high points I look for in a HEA.
I really loved the concept. Loved Kayden, Holden was dull as dishwater however. But my main gripe with it was the last 10% made the rest of the book pointless. All the rules of the competition went out the window to fit the plot she wanted to happen. And the main issues they faced throughout the book is just talked off at the end as if it was never an issue. Honestly so disappointing cause the first 70% was a really great 4 star read.
So I'm a sucker for anything that's like the show the bachelor hence why I loved the selection, this book is like the selection but with spicy wolf's being mixed in and no annoying love triangle. Therefore it is now a favorite sense I can see myself re reading this book and honestly I've only ran into 3 books having this kind of bachelor troop and its one of my favorites
This was a pretty good book. A few inconsistencies, and there’s a lot of drama and incidents, but it kind of worked. I had to keep reminding myself that the H was 30 though. The characters felt more like they were in their late teens/early twenties with how immature they acted. Meaning, they weren’t quite on the maturity level of 30 year olds. Lol
This book was excellent. I was a little skeptical reading the blurg, but the writing was good, action packed, believable and likable characters, and I didn't find it predictable. There were no skimming pages as I might have missed something interesting. I'm going to read the next book.
Another fun series begins with two main characters to enjoy. These two were fun to watch as they meet and get to know each other in an unique way. A fun read that kept me reading to the end to see what these two faced and in the games. I laughed and groaned but was entertained. And the other characters were a riot too.
Skye Wilson, Lindsey Devin, Roxie Ray, Alexis Calder, and Jaymin Snow, I swear are all the same author. I refuse to believe that this group manages to write the exact same formulaic books and matching covers to boot and not be the same person. Just look at recommended on this book! THE SAME FORMULAS
