When a heartless gold-digger steals her life, can a good dog save the human she loves?
Mom lives for her puppies and her human, Jones. Doting on them fills her heart until the pups leave home.
Bereft without them, Mom and Jones find strength in each other. But his callous daughter sends Jones away and dumps Mom in a shelter.

MOM is the touching seventh standalone book in the K-9 Heroes animal fiction series. If you like dogs, true friendship, and undaunted courage, you'll love Rada Jones's heartwarming story.
Read MOM to dig into the dogs' captivating world today.
Rada was born in Transylvania, ten miles away from Dracula's Castle. Growing up between communists and vampires taught her that humans are fickle, but one can always rely on dogs and books. After she immigrated to join her husband, she went to medical school, then worked in the ER for years, but she still speaks like Dracula's cousin. Her thrillers feature Dr. Emma Steele, a not-so-young ER doc with a moody teenage daughter and a fondness for wine. If blood, gore and serial killers turn you on, check out OVERDOSE, MERCY, and POISON. If you're into dark medical humor, check her STAY AWAY FROM MY ER. But if you're into dogs, the K-9 Heroes series is for you. To celebrate Gypsy, Rada's beloved German Shepherd, Emma adopted a quirky, bacon-loving K-9 named Guinness who runs her life through Mercy and Poison.
Mom A Dog Story: A Prequel to Becoming K-9 is book 7 in the K-9 Heroes series and was written six books after Becoming K-9, book 1 in the K-9 Heroes series was written. I have read many books where the POV character were animals and most of them missed the mark miserably. Rada Jones pulls it off spectacularly, which shows her close, personal relationship with dogs.
These books will put you through an emotional wringer, having you laughing one minute and crying the next, and leave you wishing that your fellow human beings were more like dogs. In that respect, these books remind me a great deal of another book that I read at least six or seven times every year, since reading it for the first time back in 2002, “Dewey Read More Books.” “Dewey Read More Books” is the true story of a library cat told by the librarian who found him half frozen to death in a library book return box. That book puts the reader through the same emotional roller coaster
I love a well-told dog story because I love dogs. I currently have two retired military K-9s as companions, along with a Malinois that found his way into my heart and home as a stowaway on my Cessna this past Memorial Day. Needless-to-say, I have downloaded every book in the K-9 Heroes series and will be binging on them. Now I’m off to dive into Bionic Butter: A Three-Pawed K-9 Hero, book 3 in the series. If you’ve read Becoming K-9, you will know who Butter is.
This story, as well as the other dog stories by Rada Jones, are interesting and amusing. These stories are told from the dog's point of view and their assessment of the humans that they are "responsible for" can be quite comical. The stories do highlight the loyal nature of this species and, unfortunately, display that human kind can too often be capable of callous disregard for their furry friends.
An adorable short read of a K-9 family. The story is told by the Mom, a German Shepherd, as she delivers her puppies and trains and prepares them for life in their (hopefully) forever homes. A must read for a dog lover.
This was a lovely book written by Rada. I have enjoyed the hole series looking at being a K9 dog and the mother of one. Maddie is a mum and brings 7 puppies into the world with the help of Jones. When Jones is taken sick she is taken from him and this short story is about finding him.
Maddie is the kind of girl I admire. If I still had Rio my last Goldy! I would be so happy! One day he just came to us and went to sleep.😴 Maybe I could just join him? I’m Eight!!
This book is the backstory of the mother of Red the K-9 service dog. This is a great first book to read if you want to know how Red was destined to becoming the military K-9 dog.
