When I was reading this volume I asked myself: Am I reading for Sabu or Jin?
I struggled to answer that…LOL!!
I REALLY love Jin in this volume and was totally delighted he had so much page time where he's not in the background but was sort of like the "main character" in that chapter! His face and smile get me every single time! LOL!
Sabu is cute as always and actually had to laugh when he discovers the mirror and sees just how cute he is! LOL! Thankfully, he is realizing that Jin IS a good guy even when it does look like Jin is doing something shady.
Lots and lots of continued fun shenanigans and think my personal favorite is seeing Akane admire Jin, the "treat thief," and Sabu internally cheering on Jin to speak his mind.
Another fun and fluffy volume that may not have a lot of "substance" to the plot, but it sure makes me laugh and smile every time I read it! Can't wait for the next volume!
This series is sweetly mundane, yet over the top ridiculous in the funnest way possible. I want an infinite amount of volumes, if you will, sir author.
I'm loving all the kitty shenanigans, Sabu and Boss are sooo cute! I love Jin too, he's such a secret softie and the scene were he was sick and the animals tried to look after him? Ugh, my heart. #MamaJin hahaha. This volume was a lot funnier than the rest, and still adorable too. I'm really enjoying that Jin is getting more page time, and we're seeing more of the other human (yakuza?) characters too! I'm so sad to start the final volume, but can't wait too because it makes me so happy reading these!
I wonder if the "I'm still scared to death of the weird gangster who rescued me and has never once treated me badly" is wearing thin on me, because I couldn't get as excited for this volume as the priorones. True, Sabu isn't AS freaked out in this volume, but it DOES venture into more cutecatsarecute territory than explicitly "scary guy is actually super nice."
Like, the not-Roomba, haha.
Still worth reading, but it does feel like it's drifting away from the core thesis, as it were. Not necessarily a bad thing, but that DOES make me wonder just how much more material there is.
Edit to add: Weird that Sabu commented that the New Year's drink was "sugary sweet"? I mean, cats can't taste sweet... I would buy if it tasted creamy, maybe, but even pet amazake is mostly fermented rice. If Jin mixed it with goat milk or yoghurt, MAYBE? (Definitely NOT cow milk.)
okay this was definitely the best volume, I think because sabu is finally getting more used to jin...he isn't cowering in fear at the slightest thing, though jin's tough face and strange human actions still throw him off sometimes. the chapters with taishou were too dang adorable (I love old cats!!), the cardboard beer case and how the cats play with it was SO accurate, the onigiri-shaped roomba that sabu ends up riding on was hilarious, the scenes where jin got sick and all the pets were worried was heartwarming, and the mirror scenes cracked me up!! this continues to be such a fun and wholesome series, I can't resist pet dads with tough exteriors and super soft centers <3

Sabu is getting a little more used to his life as an employee at the cafe and starting to trust Jin. But just when he gets comfortable Jin gives a tiny human permission to play with Sabu (scary!) or brings home strange items (boxes), practically dies on them (gets a cold), or does scary things in the kitchen.
Another cute set of adventures with reformed gangsters and pets up for adoption who "work" at a cafe. I like that Sabu is starting to relax a bit and not freaking out so much.
Notes on content: About 7 minor swears. No sexual content. A cat shares his backstory which involves getting hit by a car. Jin brings home beer, mostly for the outer case for the cats to play with.
Animal loving ex-street thug Jin now manages a pet cafe full of adorable cats and dogs. He finds an abandoned kitten out in the rain and brings him home to join the rest of the furry "staff" whose job it is to eat, sleep, and play while Jin only has to cook, clean, wait tables, care for all the pets needs, and arrange adoptions. Okay, how could you go wrong with that premise? Sabu the kitten is a scaredy cat who doesn't trust easily, but he sure is a cutie. He is also a slow learner, so it'll take him four volumes to figure out he's a lucky cat to end up in this group of friends. These fun books also give a lot of good advice about responsible cat care.
Lectura entretinguda i tendra ♥
This manga series will always gives me a happy vibe and no drama or whatnot. I'm glad Jin is having a new life and a new business in which he truly loves like taking great care of rescued animals especially Sabu since he is new. Riddle-san captures his story and art pretty well without any problems. So five out of five stars ♡(ŐωŐ人).
More of a 3.5 star rating; It was adorable learning about Jim’s unofficial apprentice and meeting the elder cat that got adopted. I was a bit worried about the humor getting a bit repetitive but thankfully that hasn’t happened. This short series just gets more adorable with each chapter and ’m very curious to see what can happen in this next/last volume.
I am loving this series so far, it is super cute, and while there is no story arc in terms of a plot that seeks resolution, it also isn't overly slice-of-life by which I mean every page isn't a new "story" every page. It is an ongoing story about the life of this kitten who found its way into the Ex-Yakuza's pet cafe. Love the artwork and the characters. Can't wait for the next volume.
This is so cute. Sabu is fitting in more with the cafe cats and dogs because he is now getting up to hijinks with some of the other animals which is so sweet. Although it was Sabu and the mirror that broke my heart here, it was just that cute! Other funny moments include Sabu and the robot floor cleaner and Jin when he is sick (even funnier that the animals put him to bed!)
I thought I would be able to binge read the four volumes but by volume 3, I just started to feel the plot was repetitive though I do love Sabu. So cute and I love the friends he makes. His distrust of Jin was at first founded, however I know it takes times for cats to warm up to people.
I feel that in the last volume Sabu is going to get adopted.

Already st the 1st book I was hooked by the cuteness. But as it goes on you can't help wishing you could go visit for a coffee and spending time with the 4 legged gang. They are all as unique as adorable.
I sure can't wait for more. Thanks for the great work.
Each story is rather short and kind of episodic but adorable and delightful. Even the thoroughly used up jokes are still funny. The kitten is adorable, all the cats are adorable.
Former stray kitten Sabu meets an elderly cat, finds out about the joys of empty boxes, and is terrified by a Roomba.
This series just gets cuter as we go. I love the tag line of "they didn't choose the fluff life, the fluff life chose them". I'll definitely keep reading these.
Precious as always. I am interested in the amazake for pets mentioned. I am going to look that up on my next trip to Japan. I am also going to get the Nekojasuri comb for my kitties.
