i got this at a tag sale over the summer, and let my 4th graders vote on a chapter book so we ended up reading this.

for like a middle grade book (subject matter wise) it could have been written a little better, and longer chapters. maybe some bigger words.
but it was easy enough to read this with my students. and i created like a reading comprehension worksheet to go with it.

we were all shook when old tom said boo died... and then the end of the story he was caught breaking into a dog kennel. so he basically sacrificed boo to grant a wish. which is insane. how could he just like get rid of his pet like that?
