A well-drawn, full colour manga for the male gaze and those who love RPGs, as the world is based on the premise of everyone having personal HPs and skill levels. I hadn’t read the first volume, but it didn’t matter once the story got going.

I loved the characters who were all disabled one way or another, yet it didn’t slow their determination to become heroes by attending a tournament for the witch’s throne. The plot was fairly straightforward with many battles that didn’t have easy outcomes. The author didn’t shy away from the painful ones either. Main battles are yet to come, like Agni’s, the main character’s, who discovers to her horror that the tournament she has eagerly waited for is to death. Looking forward to reading how she deals with the ethical and moral dilemma and how she and her friends will do in the tournament.

I received a free copy from Edelweiss in exchange for an honest review.

A lot to unpack here. So much trauma and an interesting introduction about the word switching from life as we know it into a world which is set up in a gaming system. Rich in lore. I hope that the publisher will consider taking on a new book.

I like how the alchemist appears to be a necromancer . I like how skills are developed throughout this series. When I said I wanted more worldbuilding in my books, this one packs it. It is best to read yourself but this book has a lot of side stories which never feel like they are straying from the plot. rather it's included in the world and ot flows in natural arcs.

Ooooh, things are happening. The art still rocks, the pacing is better, and the relationships between the characters made them all much more endearing to me. The worldbuilding continues to be unspeakably fun with the bits of lore scattered around this volume.

Honestly, the only reason I wouldn't buy a hard copy for my shelf is that the conversion from webcomic to book is really, really not treating this well - long strip to standard page size is a rough conversion, and it really shows when you're using a crummy platform like Libby. Unfortunate! But this is worth the struggle.

This is much better than the first volume. There’s some really creative world building and a lot more emotional meat to everything. The reason why everyone is able to level up and the mechanics behind it all are really cool and I can’t wait to learn more in future installments. Now to wait for volume three sadly. 😭

Continuing on the adventure, our four friends finally make it to the citadel and are able to get registered for the trial. We run into some previous characters and a little more of the background of the history of the witch hunt. Artwork is still amazing and a lot of the side characters and backgrounds are fun to look at. I wish this didn't feel so rushed, and I'm looking forward to Volume 3.

Agni and company finally make it to the Citadel and the tournament begins. We do find out that the fights are to the death, but Valdis wins her first battle. Reksha is up next, but not until the next Volume.
This is a fun comic-from-webcomic, and not something I need to be seriously invested in to be able to enjoy. Will definitely be looking for Volume 3!

The plot finally begins to pick up as the MCs begin there journey. And things certainly become dire for one of the beloved cast as some harsh truths about the world reveal themselves.

All-in-all, a noticeable improvement from the previous volume. Here's hoping it keeps pace in the next installment.

I had an easier time following this volume than the first, maybe because it gets into more backstory on why the world is so weird.

Love the positive main character and how she just naturally attracts other good, while damaged, friends to form her own crafted family. The art style is top-shelf and fans of DnD or just fantasy in general might enjoy this one as well.
Can't wait for part three!
