The series gives readers a toolkit for personal transformation and growth and includes contributions from various writers such as MK Asante, Rev. Michael Beckwith, Gabrielle Bernstein, Jack Canfield, and Kris Carr. This anthology provides different human experiences and celebrates everyday miracles, offering inspiration. I've been a devoted follower of the Chicken Soup for the Soul series for many years, so I was thrilled to be included in the anthology.
Chicken Soup for the Soul is a perfect example of how storytelling bridges gaps and celebrates the uniqueness that makes us all human. Each page of this collection reflects the collective human experience, reminding us that we're all in this together. This book (and series) has, and will continue to be, a symbol of hope, compassion, and inspiration.
The book is divided into seven sections. While I didn’t particularly enjoy the sections on love, parenting, and learning to love yourself. I found them a bit underwhelming. The remaining four sections truly made up for it. Some stories deeply moved me, while others were just okay.
Overall, it was a good read and worth picking up, especially for those moments when you need something heartwarming or reflective.
I remember enjoying this series in the 90s and thought it would be a nice, light bedtime read. But I found the majority of stories to have weak, self-help-focused (almost new-agey) undertones and foundations.
