These books are some of my absolute favorites. I'm a long time kitten lady fan so reading these make believe stories about the real cats (and friends!) I've followed on Instagram for years is just so fun. This story is no exception. The relationship formed between Kat, Martha, and Snowpea is unmatched and so touching. I really loved this read.

First sentence: Snowpea's bedroom was spotless. The cat beds were freshly fluffed, and all the little toys were tucked away neatly into the toy bin. Not so much as a speck of litter was out of place.

Premise/plot: Snowpea is a foster kitten with OCD. Perhaps that's not the best way to sum it all up, but I think it may suffice. Snowpea likes things just so. She is very opinionated and gets a bit anxious when things aren't just so. She's given the task, if you will, of raising puppies--two of them. These are her 'litter-mates.' But these puppies don't care about Snowpea's long list of rules. Can these puppies help relax Snowpea?

My thoughts: Again, based loosely on a true story. But the characterization is all fantasy. The characters--the cats--in these books don't really act like cats. Again, not necessarily a bad thing. But if you want animals to act like animals, then it might be upsetting to see them so human. For example, Snowpea likes to pick up each piece of food with her paws and bring it to her mouth. And she's training the dogs to do the same. This just isn't realistic--in my opinion--to see animals eating food with their hands like people do. Again, I'm not horribly bothered. This is animal fantasy through and through. I liked this one well enough.

2nd Fosterland book I've read. Love how, so far, it seems Hannah is called something slightly different in each book. In this one, Snowpea calls her "fairy godmother." Emmet and Jez call her the "food fairy."

Cute silly story, but if you look hard enough, it's also about recognizing generational trauma before potentially passing it on kinda???

Another adorable adventure in Fosterland. I loved how Snowpea was able to learn that, even though it's important to keep clean and tidy in most circumstances, friendship and love are always the most important!

Daughter review: this was a five star story because I liked all the parts and when they were the best of friends!

My review: it was a fun story of friendship, and respecting that we all can learn from one another other. As long as the kid loved it, I loved it!

snowpea is a cat who loves to keep things clean and tidy. Kat and Martha are messy puppies. They become friends and rescue their banana toy and Snowpea's sparkle mouse toy from a robot vacuum.

Snowpea is a neat little kitten who keeps her room In Fosterland so clean, not even one speck of litter is out of place. As a baby, she wandered the streets, looking for help, until a fairy godmother scooped her up and brought her to Fosterland. One day, two little puppies named Kat and Martha join her! Snowpea expects them to be just as tidy as her, but they are slobbery, messy and so much more! So Snowpea must teach them how to act like any proper feline would.

This book definitely a good one, perfect for all pet lovers of all types who are looking for a cute story with a good lesson about accepting others for who they are.

So Sweet!

I loved this sweet story of Snowpea and her puppies, Martha and Katharina. Hannah is a gifted writer, as well as being an animal advocate. I remember the real Snowpea and her puppies. They were so adorable together. I look forward to the next installment of Adventures in Fosterland.
