The absurd ramblings of a man who has refused to grasp the idea. Rail against state capitalism all you like Jesse. Doesn't make a dent against the actual work. Maybe next time actually read the books you're supposed to be opposed too. Could help, who knows!

This one was fun. A lot of red-meat books come off as angry. Jesse is not. Clearly. Despite the bleak picture he paints of communism’s rise, and the dire consequences we all see coming, he delivers his message of hope and fight with his patented wit and rascally charm. I’d hate to be a commie teacher in Jesse’s town. This guy loves the fight.

It’s quick, educational, and the perfect gift for high school kids as Jesse is no sesquipedalian.

Enjoy the manifesto.

A clear explanation of why our country is in the condition it is

Jesse resists the useless conservative behavior of just complaining about the immoral, destructive left and gives a roadmap in dealing with these communists, which is what they are. Our current condition is the result of plans decades in the making. This book is a must read.

This book is an unoriginal tantrum that somehow manages to be hyper vigilant against a non-issue. It’s a treatise, of sorts, in application of Saul Alinsky's book "Rules for Radicals” in an attempt to sway you, the reader, to be scared of the commies. Don’t like a policy position? It’s the communists. But what if they say they aren’t a communist? Don’t listen, because fear is steeped in red, and you should be seeing a lot of red.

It is an uncritical tirade; a whisky soaked view of politics, lamenting the same tired talking points that have been levied against the Bolsheviks since the October Revolution. If you look on YouTube for any video of a mother bird feeding its hatchlings, that’s what this book is. There’s no real discernible difference in the content that you’re consuming. It’s a regurgitation of once thriving organisms being minced down into some saliva laden codswallop. Your choice, as the reader, is whether that is how you like to consume your nutrients.

I can save you some time in reading this book, and summarize it thusly:

“So, here it is…” (Forward), “…a complete load of nonsense.” (Chapter 1)

There you have it, in Kelly’s own words, no less.

I struggle to take seriously any person who is going to say things like:

“The communist genuinely believes he’s a liberal, or left-leaning, or a Democrat, or an environmentalist, or a civil rights advocate, or a feminist, or any of the other countless labels he applies t himself. He doesn’t realize that he’s a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy of communist stretching all the way back to Marx.”

To Kelly, a communist isn’t simply a “subversive, chipping away at the pillars that hold up American society,” it’s simply anyone left of center, with the single unitary mission to “destroy America.”

If you think that you've heard that before, it's because you have. Everyone born and still taking in oxygen since at least 1930 has heard these seem fear mongering comments at least once every four years by some delusional politician or pundit.

I also cannot take seriously any person that praises Joseph McCarthy, or the House Un-American Activities Committee. HUAC is a stain on America’s history. It was wholly inconsistent with the notions of liberty, or of the first amendment, or any meaningful sense of the word "freedom."

I cannot take seriously any person that is going to write within the first fifteen pages that communism is a religion (it isn’t, in any serious discussion, that is), or allege that Karl Marx – while somehow being, apparently, one of the laziest men to ever live – established secret police, imprisoned dissidents, created death squads, set forth mass starvation, etc. He did none of these things. But if we are to apply this same logic elsewhere, I guess we should blame Jesus for the Crusades. (Absurd, I know.)

Finally, I cannot take seriously a book that pretends to extoll upon the reader a critical rejection of communism by lobbing personal attacks against this model’s two primary philosophers and airing out a laundry list of horrors committed by the communist dictators after they died. In 248 pages, Kelly says that it’s wrong for communists to murder tens of millions of people on the basis of politics and nonadherence to communism, but that at the same time we should feel no shame in having done it to Indigenous tribes (because conquest is good, I guess?), and we should certainly feel no shame in rounding up communists like we did in the 1950’s, whether they were actually communists or not. Near as I can tell, all three are bad option.

Basically, according to Kelly, violence is only bad if the commies do it.

We should just call this book “The Fascist’s Lament,” because the only take away from this book is that all liberals are communists, all communists are violent, and that perhaps we should just round them up. If that’s something that you agree with, then this book is for you. If that’s not something you agree with (even if you’re not a liberal), then this book is not for you.

If you value your freedom to have, and to express, different opinions, ideas, and solutions to problems, or to adhere to any religion you see fit as the constitution suggests you should be able to do, then you should reject this book in its entirety.

I will say this though, I did enjoy Kelly's style of writing, and the burger recipe in the back looks good.

I thought this book was poorly done satire at first. How does this have over 4 stars?

It is baseless fear-mongering conflating any system that is not strictly anarchocapitalist as dictatorial and genocidal. Cherry picking history with incomplete interpretations to validate an extremist position.

Far right propaganda with no basis in accepted political, economic or social theory.

LITERALLY great! 😉

Jesse just gets it. Waking up “Normie Norm” is the hardest, so maybe we should buy copies of this book to hand out all over.

I’m an avid listener of The Jesse Kelly Show. In the crowded world of political commentators Jesse stands out as being a normal guy who just knows a thing or two about history and governments quests for power and control. He feels like he could basically be your neighbor— there is nothing unapproachable about him. His real talent is being able to clearly explain and make sense of the path we are on using history as a guide.

His book is a perfect extension to his radio and tv program. If you listen to the show, you will know about most of the main points already, but the book dives even deeper. There are SO many historical examples! You’ll come out with a better understanding of the communism America is facing… and really, the whole west. I’m kind of shocked how we are following the EXACT same playbook that has plunged other countries into communism.

The best parts were the “anti communist action steps” at the end of each chapter.

Really recommend this book and Jesse’s show if you want to sort through todays woke culture.

Fantastic. Just what the USA needs to pull more people out of the dark. People do not realize that Communism isn't some long-dead threat from the 30's and 40's... It's alive and thriving and about to destroy everything that sets this country apart. Unfortunately, the ones who REALLY need to read it, won't. I only wish the magnificent Jesse would have had someone proofread it a little closer...

I saw it on the "New Non-Fiction" table at the Portsmouth Public Library. The title certainly appealed. How bad could it be?

Reader, it could be very bad. With two and a half months left, this book is pretty much a lock for Pun Salad's "Worst Non-Fiction Book Read in 2023".

I was reminded of that insightful line in George Orwell's classic 1946 essay "Politics and the English Language":

The word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies ‘something not desirable’

The author, Jesse Kelly, similarly drains the word "communism" of all meaning. He uses it to signify anything he doesn't like.

Now much of what Kelly says isn't that objectionable. Marxism is junk, both sociologically and economically. Marxism put into practice, i.e., Communism, is a disaster for the citizenry, full of misery, oppression, war, and murder. American universities tilt wildly to the left, to their own detriment, and ours. Tearing down American history into simplistic fables of racism, sexism, rapacious businesses, etc. is despicable. BLM and Antifa are evil grifters. And so on.

But you can learn about that anywhere else. (And I recommend you do.)

One amusing (well, sort of amusing) feature is Kelly's near-complete lack of introspection or self-doubt. He can observe (for example) that in Weimar Germany, communist militants "used the term fascist to describe pretty much anyone with who they disagreed." Exactly what Orwell said! But…geez…has Kelly looked critically at his own use of "communist"?

Also on a more serious note, Kelly cheers on "cancel culture" as long as it's being used by the right people against the wrong people. He's a big fan of Ron DeSantis's use of governmental power against the Disney Corporation, because they took a political stand he disagreed with. They were being disloyal to the state! Must be punished!

It's become tiresome to read about the rise of illiberal tactics on both sides of the political debate. The "war" is no longer about reducing the power of the state to oppress the citizenry; it's about grabbing onto the power of the state so you can go after the Other Side. This is a negative-sum game in both the short and long runs. Kelly wants to play that game badly.

The style is grating, all the way through. He has a radio show, and a lot of the stuff here "reads" like lightly-edited spoken rant-monologues. You are never more than a few paragraphs away from wild overstatement. Picked at random from the gun control chapter: "The appetite of the communist will not be satisfied until civilian ownership of firearms is a thing of the past and Americans are at the complete mercy of the government.") He's also a practioner of what Jon Steward made famous: the “clown nose on, clown nose off” approach to commentary. Except the nose-on jokes seem to mostly involve observing that a lot of feminists are fat and ugly.

Propaganda is not inherently a bad thing. It is just something you use to try and convince somebody else of your views. However, in order to be good propaganda, it would need to be able to appeal to people and give a strong, intelligent, or at least understandable arguments as to why you would want somebody to listen to you and agree with your thought process.

This is not good propaganda. He does not understand Communism. He does not understand the definitions of the words that communists use. He does not use use accurate historical context, even using widely debunked materials (some of which have even been discredited by their own authors). He straw-mans constantly, and conflates communist, or even socialist (which I don't think he says the word socialist once in the entire book, yet socialism and communism are related but separate ideologies) ideas with liberal, progressive, and a few other movements and ideologies, purposely conflating them.

Recommendations:
Now given this, he does explain to the reader what agenda he wants done, which is the point of propaganda. But his arguments are not convincing, even to an intelligent right-winger. To a left-winger, this book is just nonsense, and it is not necessary (or good for your sanity) to read. To someone who just enjoys bashing on anybody left of Don*** Tru**, then this is the book for you, and might even be a good activism book for you. For everybody else, please just use it to warm your fire-stove or campfire in the winter.

Edit: Trigger Warning to Readers: If you are sensitive to sexism, homophobia, transphobia, fat-phobia, or anything similar, please be aware that there are some lines that portray these ideas.

There is no way that this book actually exists. If anything it felt like the biggest political campaign rather than an informative book. I initially picked up this fiction novel thinking it was a satire - I came to find out I was very wrong. There are many inaccuracies throughout this book. Not once is communism correctly defined. Communism is an economic system (just as capitalism deals in capital - MONEY). Communism is not a government system. Examples of government systems are democracy, dictatorships, fascism, etc. Kelly often tries to pass communism as fascism when in fact they are two separate ideals. In fact, communism would typically fit best under democracy (ironic isn’t it?). Not only does Kelly make these prominent mistakes (showing a lack of understanding and research)- but he also FORGETS to source all of his sources. There are several quotes and “facts” Kelly mentions that never appear in the sourced section. This leads me to be skeptical on the accuracy of this sources. For a “nonfiction” book this seems to be a major flaw. Overall, I wouldn’t waste my time reading such a mind numbing book. If anything, the only thing Kelly intends to achieve is a mindless third Red Scare. He is instilling unnecessary fear rather than facts.

Summary:
Many great arguments against communism and how it hurts America but not without some extreme and unreasonable arguments.

First for the Good Things:
The book is really well written. The book has a dedicated chapter on each topic and has some good humor throughout, making it an entertaining read. It's really good stuff for someone's first book.

Many of the arguments against communism and how they exist in the USA today are pretty scary, and it's good the book was written. The education chapter was arguably the most important and definitely worth the read.

For example, the mention of how an extremist communism organization the Weather Underground committed crimes and was labeled officially as a terrorist organization by the FBI. What happened to them? Most of them became professors, some in sociology and politics. This is absurd, and it's apparent that teaching children is one of the most powerful tools a Communist can have. Not to mention the hundreds of millions of dollars that Ivy League schools take from China and try to hide it.

Another one of the many strong arguments is how communism is trying to destroy America by getting rid of its history. Over the years, many of our great founding fathers or people like Christopher Colombus have been slowly getting buried in the dirt. Many statues have been removed, and schools don't teach as much about their importance. These figures are attacked as white men that had slaves and seen in a negative light.

My favorite argument in the book is the house analogy Jesse used. The house you live in has many great memories and many bad memories. The Communist does his best to remind you of all the bad memories so you burn down the house and hate it. Similarly, regardless of your poltical stance on Colombus or our Founding Father's, we all need to remember both the good and bad things make up our home and we can't try to get rid of them. We need to acknowledge them and discuss how they make up our history and their impact.

Many other great topics such as cancel culture and how going against it can hurt your career along with similarities between Russia in the past and "political correctness."

Now for the Bad Things:
Many of the arguments are through a traditional conservative view, and saying it's due to communism is an absolute overkill.

For example, the author argues that companies like Disney are "woke" by promoting lgbtq material. This isn't communism. This is typical capitalism. Why do companies promote all of this "woke" stuff? To get more money and supporters. Companies care about their bottom line, not ethics. Saying it's due to communism to try to separate us and break traditional values is a pretty big stretch.

Similary, there are several arguments about how God is really important and that people can't love themselves without God. Again, this is a traditional conservative bias. Younger generations of Americans aren't exposed to religion by their parents, and more and more have fewer religious views. It's kind of ironic how the author sees communism as a bad religion but wouldn't mind things like prayer at schools.

Final Recommendation :
Despite its flaws, the book is worth reading and has many great arguments that no one talks about in a modern society. Take the book with some grains of salt and also expect a fair amount of conservative bias and humor.

Although I don’t agree with pretty much anything he said, I do feel it’s important to educate myself on other peoples view points. I gave 2 stars instead of one because although the points didn’t resonate with me, he made some funny jokes. That’s what saved this book for me.

Kelly reports on how the communist movement has infiltrated our schools, corporations and government, and offers Action Items at the end of each chapter to assist in combatting these Communist actions rather than accepting them in defeat. Despite the dour topic, Jesse sometimes approaches the subject in a somewhat humorous manner. Marx realized at some point that people who are living comfortable lives in Capitalistic societies, cannot be sufficiently enraged about their conditions to rally against their lives of luxury, which is "bad groupthink," and is thus preventing the revolution from transpiring to impose Communism on the populace, which will ensure everybody is equally miserable. The Communist leaders decided the better option would be to take over the universities and public schools and indoctrinate the children before they developed critical thinking skills, thus creating a willing and non-thinking generation or two of young adults who will one day take over the country. As much as I deplore the tactic, I have to admit it is quite a brilliant plan. It is within each one of us to resist the narrative that Communism is a foregone conclusion for America and the world, and Jesse Kelly implores each of us to take action against this menace by, for example, withholding funds from corporations or organizations that support Marxist ideas and actions, be actively involved in our children's lesson plans and to speak up at public assemblies, etc. It is possible to create change for the better.

A truly Great Book... I can't say enough... so I'll be brief. I'm (somewhat) of an expert on Communism and Communists in America so much of this book came as No surprise to me. Most Americans will be unfamiliar with Communists in America taking over and Running US into the ground (and that's there purpose). I wouldn't change a word of this book and it is Well Organized, Easy to Understand, and Recommends Solutions! This book should be read by Everyone who says they're MAGA AND All those Americans who don't know what's happened to their country But for what ever reason Don't follow/believe in POTUS DJT. Why the later? Because most of US are Not Communists and Don't want the NWO One Would Communist government (of .000001% ruling us; and attempting to eliminate 99.999997% of the rest). Seriously, the only thing that a Communist wants is control of Everybody else! READ THIS BOOK!

What I liked about this one is that Jesse gives common sense ideas of solutions you as an individual can do now and this does not include posting memes on Facebook. Great book. "We are not merely surrounded [by future communists], we are enveloped. We are the thong on Lizzo's body."
-- Jesse Kelly

No, that is not a misquote. Jesse Kelly’s The Anti-Communist Manifesto reads more like a political tantrum than a serious examination of ideology. From the very first page, dedicated boldly "To me," Kelly positions himself as the hero of his own narrative, offering a polemic packed with mockery, exaggeration, and a notable lack of citations. The book’s central thesis attempts to paint communists as not only dangerous but culturally corrosive, invoking imagery that veers into fatphobia, sexism, racism, and transphobia to make its point. Instead of well-researched critique, Kelly relies on inflammatory one-liners, random pop culture references, and culture war caricatures, more concerned with stirring outrage than fostering understanding.

Despite billing itself as a manifesto on property and freedom, the book mentions "private property" only a handful of times in its 335 pages, avoiding any deep dive into actual economic systems. Kelly frequently misrepresents core communist principles and equates progressivism with tyranny. As a wool over the eyes, he treats American atrocities, such as slavery and colonization, as patriotic footnotes. The result is less a cohesive argument against communism and more an echo chamber of right-wing talking points, dressed in humor, a minstrel suit, and frequently punches down. For readers looking for a thoughtful analysis of political philosophy, this isn’t it. However, for those seeking a crash course in modern reactionary rhetoric, can't wait to hand your insane-ass a clipboard in a future case study.

“There has never been a grateful communist. Ever.”

This book should be essential reading for every single person who cares about the future. I saw Jesse Kelly a while back on a Tucker Carlson episode. Brilliant, timely, all with a nice touch of humor, and a great writing style.

As someone who studied in two extremely far-left schools (Portland State and Columbia), trust me, everything he says is spot on. The Marxist brainwashing and hatred for the West has been going on for so long. Fast forward to today, and we’ve all seen the rubbish that’s been going on. These people are awful to say the least.

Who is the Communist?
“The communist is not ‘the worker.’ He is not the aggrieved peasant. He doesn’t have a specific label. He is the bitter, envious malcontent in your society. Communism is the religion of the malcontent. The malcontent is drawn to this religion because it promises him power. Power to take what isn’t his. Power to exact vengeance on the neighbor who has what he wants. Power to satisfy whatever sadistic desires he feels compelled to carry out.”

Communist Theory
“The theory of the Communists may be summed up in the single sentence: Abolition of private property.”

The Long March Through the Institutions
“’The long march through the institutions,’ a phrase based on the ideas of Italian Marxist Antonio Gramsci. ‘Socialism is precisely the religion that must overwhelm Christianity,’ Gramsci wrote. ‘In the new order, Socialism will triumph by first capturing the culture via infiltration of schools, universities, churches, and the media by transforming the consciousness of society.’ He started with the universities, where Marxism continues to thrive. He influenced generations of young minds and pumped out an army of revolutionaries. In turn, those young revolutionaries entered society to become teachers, journalists, artists, and corporate executives. They infected schools, newsrooms, and boardrooms. So, just who is today’s communist? In short, the communist is who he’s always been: a subversive, chipping away at the pillars that hold up American society. In the twenty-first century, the communist does not necessarily adhere to a rigid set of principles and doctrines like those who came before him. He’d be hard-pressed to recite Marx chapter and verse. He’s also unlikely to voice his support for many past communist regimes, like Stalin’s Soviet Union or Pol Pot’s Cambodia. After all, that wasn’t ‘real communism,’ he’ll assure you. When the majority of American communists tell you they’re not communists, understand that in their mind they’re telling the truth. The communist genuinely believes he’s a liberal, or left-leaning, or a Democrat, or an environmentalist, or a civil rights advocate, or a feminist, or any of the other countless labels he applies to himself. He doesn’t realize that he’s a photocopy of a photocopy of a photocopy of a communist stretching all the way back to Marx. The image may have become warped and blurry as it was run through the machine time and again, but beneath it all you can still make out the outlines of the original. Over time, he altered his language to better appeal to American sensibilities. Socialism became ‘social justice.’ The forced redistribution of wealth became ‘equity.’ The destruction of tradition became ‘inclusiveness.’ Comrades became ‘allies.’”

“By the late 1980s, the radical red-diaper babies of the 1960s and ’70s had come of age, becoming professors, instructors, and administrators on campuses around the country. At about the time some Eastern Bloc nations were shooting their communist leaders in the face, Marxism had become entrenched in academia. ‘Marxism is dead everywhere except American universities’ became a common joke following the fall of the Soviet Union.”

“The prevalence of communists on campus is only part of the problem. As communists’ influence has increased in academia, all opposition has been pushed out. Professors who are inclined to teach theories that support the American system have been relegated to the dark corner of the universities. They are actively denied tenure and promotions because they are conservatives.”

Hatred for America
“Whatever his vision for the future, he believes America, as constituted by the founders, stands in the way. At the center of it all is an abiding hatred of his nation, her history, and the foundations upon which she is built. That hatred unifies the disparate groups that compose the modern communist movement. What, then, does he seek? I assure you, it’s not equity. It isn’t a classless society. It’s not even trans rights or any of the other nonsense to which he attaches himself. He hungers for something far simpler. To the communist everything is a means to achieve one thing: destruction. Destruction of your communities. Destruction of your children. Destruction of you. Destruction of everything. This is the communist.”

“No nation can survive with its universities and colleges teaching its students to hate it.”

Rewriting History
“You must stop fearing history. The communist wants you to be meek in the face of the past. His new mythology declares that the Western world was uniquely founded upon suffering, death, and war. He uses that ugliness to get you to go along with his desecrations. The communist’s greatest ally is not his soy-based comrades who help him pull down statues; it’s those who hide in fear when someone is needed to defend those monuments. History is dark. All of it. It’s a place filled with bloodshed and conflict. People were killed. Nations were conquered. Cultures were destroyed or subsumed. This is not the history of America, it’s the history of mankind. Once you’ve fixed this reality in your mind, it will act as the most effective suit of armor you can wear against the communist. You should feel no shame in the fact that America was born the same way as every other nation that ever existed. Rather, you should be proud of the fact that what emerged from the storm was the greatest nation to have ever graced God’s earth.”

“Always remember that although history is a dark place, you should never be ashamed of your nation’s past.”

Education
“For the communist, education is not about reading, writing, and arithmetic. America’s dismal reading scores should tell you that much. Graduates today sound less like Thomas Jefferson and more like LeBron James.”

Values in Education
“For centuries we have been led to believe that the best form of education is one that sets out to produce students who are open-minded and free from ideology. Open-mindedness is useless, and even dangerous, if it ultimately closes around something poisonous. No, we don’t want open minds. We want minds that are closed off to communism, godlessness, and other destructive ideas. With this in mind, we must stop saying that we want to take politics out of schools. That’s loser talk. The anti-communist rejects the idea for two reasons: We understand that it’s an impossible fantasy. There is no neutrality. Your kids are taught by human beings. Human beings have biases. Those biases will come out in how and what they teach. We understand that politics reflect values. Even if neutrality were possible, it wouldn’t be desirable. We don’t want our children to be blank slates. We want our values and politics to be written upon them. The communist’s goal is simple: to have his values reflected in your children’s education. Therefore, our goal must be the opposite: to have our values reflected in our children’s education. To ensure that happens, we need to take as much control of their education as possible.”

Feelings
“The most destructive lesson kids learn in today’s schools is the idea that the only thing to which they owe obedience is their feelings. In many ways, this is at the heart of the Critical Theory–communist curriculum. For example: Do you feel bad because other families have more than yours? Great! You’re a victim!
Do you feel like others treat you differently because of your race? Great! You’re oppressed! Do you feel like a girl today? Great! You’re a girl!
Every step of the way, kids are told that their feelings define their reality and should determine their course of action. A child who understands that they are not the ultimate authority in their life—at least not yet—will naturally be skeptical of this idea and return to their parents for guidance.”

Gratitude
“If you really want to raise an anti-communist, teach your children the importance of being grateful. There has never been a grateful communist. Ever. There’s a reason that they’re ingrates. Communists believe that they have been the victims of theft on a societal scale. The wealth of others has been stolen from them and the group to which they belong. This belief carries with it a sense of entitlement. What most normal people would view as an act of generosity, they see as an act of justice.
Children should be made to understand that nothing is owed to them. When they receive something—anything—they should do so with humility and gratitude. The final point I’ll leave you with is this: give your children God. Of all the ways in which the communist has undermined the education of children, nothing has been more destructive than the removal of scripture and prayer from the classroom. By taking God out of schools, the communist has removed the foundation upon which Western society was built and created the vacuum into which he has poured his own godless religion. If you deny your children God, you are leaving the door wide open. This applies to every parent, even the ones who are not particularly religious. However, it’s especially important for the families of public school students. Since the Supreme Court has all but banned religion in public schools, you must give your children religious instruction at home or at church.”

Corporations
“Today, the corporation is your enemy. They have contempt for their American customers because they see Americans as the problem. Just as the communist believes that America is a nation of racists, sexists, and homophobes, so too do corporations. And with the power they wield—whether through the products they make, the services they render, or the media they produce—they believe it’s their social responsibility to change you, even at the expense of their bottom line. Few brands, big or small, have proven to be immune from this destructive disease. It infects the most classic of American companies like Disney and Coca-Cola. Professional sports leagues like the National Football League and Major League Baseball. Energy giants like ExxonMobil and Chevron. Finance giants like Bank of America and Morgan Stanley.”

Corporate Virtue Signaling
“The most potent weapon the communist has used against corporate America has been fear. Fear that their brand will become toxic. Fear that they’ll lose customers. Fear that they’ll lose money. Fear is the reason corporations display the rainbow flag during Pride Month on their U.S. social media accounts, while they don’t display it on their accounts in Muslim countries.”

It's all about the Language
“Illegal aliens have become ‘undocumented workers.’ Wives and husbands have become ‘partners.’ Fat people have become ‘people of size.’ It’s all so mundane at this point that political correctness feels like nothing more than a punch line. The truth, however, is that political correctness is not only destructive to American society, but also the key to the communist’s efforts to control us. Political correctness boils down to a very simple idea: if the communist can control what people can say, he can influence the way they think—and if he can influence the way they think, he can ultimately influence what they do.”

Political Correctness
“Wherever there is political correctness, there is an enforcement mechanism.
In the Soviet Union, a violation of political correctness might get you a visit from the Cheka or later the KGB. In Mao’s China, dissent could lead to a run-in with the savage Red Guard. Unlike those nations, political correctness is not imposed by the government in the U.S. (not yet, anyway). Instead, the enforcement mechanism is crowdsourced to digital mobs of anonymous malcontents and a handful of vocal activists. We call this enforcement mechanism ‘cancel culture.’”

“Whether you’re using politically correct language out of sheer habit, the desire for social approval, or the fear of cancellation, you need to stop. For the anti-communist, an undocumented worker is an illegal alien, your partner is your wife or husband, and a person of size is fat. If you’re asked to give your pronouns, you should simply say, ‘I’m not comfortable with that,’ and move on.”

“Eliminate politically correct language from your vocabulary, even if it makes the people you communicate with uncomfortable. Ignore name-calling and charges of ‘racism,’ ‘sexism,’ or ‘homophobia.’ They’re meaningless. Do not apologize! It only encourages the mob. Establish and support safety nets for fellow travelers who have been ‘canceled’ by the woke mob. Embrace ‘cancel culture.’ It’s a powerful weapon and we should be using it against our enemy.”

Do Not Apologize
“The first rule is this: do not apologize. When first confronted by cancel culture, many people will immediately offer public penance in the belief that doing so will placate the mob. Big mistake. Remember, the communist loves to be offended. It gives him a sense of struggle and purpose. It should never bother you when he claims you’ve offended him because, deep down, he’s thrilled. Communism is a religion that does not offer forgiveness. No matter how sincere your apology may be, it’s not going to convince the mob to back off. It’s going to encourage them, like chumming the water for sharks. The goal of cancel culture is not to extract an apology or get you to change. Like the struggle sessions of China, public expressions of remorse are nothing more than performances held for the entertainment of the mob. Ultimately, cancel culture is about destruction. The target of cancellation is a sacrifice to communism’s sadistic god. He will not be satisfied until you are left mangled and broken like so much roadkill. Let me take things a step further. Once you’re in the crosshairs of the mob, refusing to apologize is not enough. The mob is predatory. It loves soft prey for the same reason a cat enjoys batting around a mouse before sinking its teeth in. You must go on the offensive. Double down. Triple down.”

“Once I made it clear that I wasn’t bending, they climbed back under the rocks from which they’d emerged. Nothing frustrates the mob more than the realization that you’re not going to back down. Once they do, they’ll move on to a new target.”

An excellent summary of the evils of communism, socialism, collectivism, whatever you want to call it. But much more he talks about how such an evil set of ideas has continued to grow and gain in popularity even in the face of having killed over 100 Million people in the last century.

Jesse is a take no prisoner kind of guy, but that's what this needs. I only gave it a 4 because I've been reading in this subject matter for decades, so there really wasn't anything new here fr me, though he did a very good job of putting it together and making clear how important it is to stop.

Eye opening

This book definitely opened my eyes to things that had never crossed my mind before. Unfortunately, communism is alive and well in our country. Each of us needs to stand against it and be anti-communists. God bless the USA.
