Last Kaplan book before the big test!! I love psych and sociology but sometimes I feel they are making up terms just for the sake of it. Not everything needs to be analyzed or named and theorized on.
I am including this because I devoted a whole month of my life to tackling this content review, so I deserve credit on this platform. Solid content review - read and annotated the whole thing. Love the practice materials that come along with the book, but Kaplan should do a better job of advertising the online resources that also come with the purchase of the collection. At this point, I am glad I got the paperback version because it is so much easier to learn and ingest material when you can physically interact with is, but it was definitely tough to pull the trigger on a $400 pack of books. Someone should do something about making MCAT preparatory materials more accessible. It is beginning to look like the SAT in terms of the ability to earn a better score only if you can afford it. Just some thoughts. Anyways, ciao.
This was the book that I dreaded reading the most and was the happiest to finish. From start to end it was filled with random historical figures and convoluted terms that I’ll be required to recognize for my upcoming exam… I think the one redeeming factor was this books ability to make me think a little deeper about how we interact with others and the world around us — which added just enough interest to allow me to finish it.
Excellent reminder that so many things in science are just the opinion of some guy. Anyway. Best primal reflex: Babinski. Best psychosocial stage: integrity vs. despair. Best attachment style: avoidant. I could go on..
