Awful;Contributes Nothing

The lowest possible amount of effort went into this-there is absolutely *no new information whatsoever* here. Just poorly rehashed, basic, general lore from the game, leaving out huge chunks of information (the Dracthyr get TWO PAGES. TWO!), with smatterings of concept art and lots of it ripped straight out of hearthstone. Not worth getting, at all.

No.

I have seen a lot of cheap cash-ins and this book sits neatly at the bottom with them. For good reasons.

Pro:
- The physical edition looks nice, but isn't anything to write home about, either.

Neutral:
- The idea of Khadgar writing it in-universe is nice, but nothing new for these books.

Cons:
- No new information, and even a lot of info we'd be getting in-game is missing. The entries for the individual dragons are usually just 2-3 pages long, oftentimes not even providing all info in one place. In cases like Sindragosa's entry half of it is wasted on babbling about Azshara and the Legion and the Dragon Soul. Information that could have been provided in 1-2 sentences. Meanwhile information concerning Sindragosa is scattered across other entries and her entry is even split into two (living and undead), which feels extremely unnecessary, even with things being sorted by flight.
- Just outright lazy design. While it does look nice, no actual work went into the books design beyond the bare minimum. With a book like this, especially with its framing device, you'd expect consistency in style, especially with the illustrations. None of this happens here. The images are sourced from all over the place (concept art, screenshots) often in low quality or badly cropped, and sometimes even outright wrong (Malygos's dragon form AGAIN depicts Kalecgos)

When you have a framing device like 'this is an in-universe tome written carefully by an in-universe character who is, while a bit weird, very intelligent and responsible at the end of the day none of this should happen. Especially not when said in-universe character would have the means to actually ask dragons about stuff.

Where are the anecdotes? Where are the little tidbits you could only gleam from this book? Nothing.

It's insulting. It feels like they really scrambled to churn this out for a quick penny. It's not even worth the money for completionists.

Stick with the online wiki, it's superior to this.

Some great art and while it is a little lacking in new lore and info about the dragons of Azeroth it does provide some interesting new insights with one of my favorites being about the Faerie Dragons and their connections to the Well of Eternity. I also like that when it talks about each of the dragonflights it also does a deeper dive into some of the important members of those flights even into some prominent locations associated with those flights. While most of the tidbits and lore are basically the same material most people will know if they have read the other books or played the game so it is a little disappointing to see that their is not to much new here as again most of it is basically a summary of well known dragon lore but I still like it gathers all of the info while not trying to retcon a majority of it. And to be fair there are tiny bits of new lore here and there and it does try to better connect and explain and even goes over some types of dragons that most people would have forgotten about like the Veiled Dragons and the Chromatic Dragons.

Loved it! Cool art and can really immerse self in the world. Learned a lot about the history that has accumulated over the years to build out the warcraft tapestry. Makes logging into dragonflight a more fun experience! The ending didn't really jive with the up to the minute as the world of warcraft turns, but thats ok. Too bad the book wasn't released earlier in the expansion or even along side it? If you know little or nothing about warcraft this might get you excited to dive in if you love dragons generally speaking! Yoy can get on the back of one and ride it. Pop into a VR headset and it's a unique experience. Enjoy!
