She is well known within the Amish community as a columnist for a weekly Amish newspaper. Linda and her husband, their children and grandchildren live in central Pennsylvania.

This was an ok series. I did not like that she married the man she did not like. Plus to live in a location that is remote away from her family. She did end up realizing that there is never bliss in any marriage. I got so irritated with this story line that I did not get book 3. I love the part about her sisters and the family dynamic and the compassion that they show one another. I have read many Amish books/stories and love stories that really speak to a person heart and faith.

Hmm... my mistake was in thinking this was an Amish romance, like the Harlequin kind. I didn't realize it was more like an Amish family story, so it felt really long and slow-moving to me, especially at the start, and I was surprised at the halfway point to realize the story wasn't over yet.
That being said, I did care about the characters. Even the stepson who started out bratty, I'm glad he eventually grew up and seems like his crush at the end will help him settle down.
Boo on all the hunting stuff. Boo on sports hunting in general, though I guess coz they're Amish, they'll actually eat the animals they kill and not just use as trophies like the super rich people do? Still, boo on how excited that stepson is about all the killing. The poor mountain lion. (Fortunately, nothing graphic and no kill scenes even in the book.)
I did feel the heroine was kinda snobby towards her eventual husband at the start. Like just coz he's rough and tumble doesn't mean she has to be so miserable about him and about the prospect of living in his quiet countryside. Though I guess I can relate.
Still, overall, nice family story and nice to see things work out for the heroine.
Also kinda cool coz I often see Amish romances but rarely Amish stories, like lit fic type. The writing and story reminded me kinda of Anne of Green Gables, but maybe that's just coz of the old-fashioned lifestyle of the characters.

It's an amazing story! Linda did an amazing job describing the wonders of Wyoming. I felt like i could hear the sounds, smell the Alpine trees, and feel the snow flakes upon your face.
Susan Lapp is still waiting for her love of her life, Levi, for her hand in marriage. An unexpected trip back to Wyoming, the last place on earth she wants to be, brings unforseen changes to her life again. Levi is the only one she loves, but is he hers?

Tapestry of Love is Byler's second book in the New Directions series. The story continues to unfold, with a few surprises thrown in.
The reason for my 3 star rating is because there are some inconsistencies in the storoy. One of them is the whereabouts of Kate and Dan. When the story begins, they are still in VA. But then, the ND oilfields are mentioned, as well as SD. And finally, they are in western IL.
Levi's letter to Susan from AK has no return address, yet she's able to write back to him.
And finally, there is a reference to Susan's stay in MT.
It was still an enjoyable story to me, and I definitely want to read the third and final book to see how things turn out.

Not all Amish people and communities are alike. Some follow their beliefs and some don't. Susan Lapp had to open her eyes and heart to the different climate and family relationships even if it took her out of her comfort zone. Does make for a very interesting life's story. Only gave it a 4 out of 5, disappointed with the ending.

Good story of strength and faith
I enjoyed the twists and turns of the story. The author has a way of pulling one into the story. She captures human emotions and the blending of life’s struggles.

Tapestry of Love
What a great book! Susan thought she was in love with her boyfriend hoping he would ask her to marry her after coming home from teaching in Wyoming. He never did and circumstances led her back to Wyoming. A must read!

Bk 2, first ended abruptly but this one smoother. Final Bk 3 to publish April 2024.
