When Emperor King poses as a super hero to go on a date with Good Karen, things quickly go off the rails. But what does a talking lizard have to do with a pizza delivery man that's shooting people with the names similar to super heroes?

I'm a huge fan of Mark Russell's thought provoking, depressing brand of comedy and this is a heaping helping of that. Peter Krause knocks it out on art as well.

The sparkle of the first story arc has settled into a steady gleam. Mark Russell can basically do no wrong, and this is top drawer spoof - grounded in real human motivation, lovingly written and rendered, and witty/goofy/sly as hell. Even the throwaway jokes are funnier than just about anything I see these days - a character distractedly paging through "Puppy Funeral" magazine, for example. Or a superhero named Good Karen. Delightful.
